For me, the best part is how well it integrates with the Microsoft ecosystem. Since most of my work already happens in Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and OneDrive, Teams fits naturally into my day-to-day workflow. The application can occasionally feel heavy on system resources, particularly when I have multiple meetings, chats, and large files open at the same time. The search function for older chats and messages could also be more reliable, as it doesn’t always surface what I’m looking for.

Microsoft Teams works well enough for basic office collaboration, but as a video conferencing platform in 2026, it still feels inconsistent and frustrating at times. I’d rate it a 6/10 overall.

The biggest positives are the Microsoft 365 integration, calendar sync, meeting scheduling, and enterprise-level collaboration tools. For organizations already deeply invested in the Microsoft ecosystem, Teams is convenient and hard to avoid. But if you are on Google Workspace, avoid Teams at all cost.

However, the actual meeting experience still has too many reliability issues for a mature product. Over the past few months, I’ve repeatedly seen:

* audio glitches during meetings

* excessive RAM/CPU usage

* desktop app instability compared to browser versions

* notification bugs and delayed messages

The new Teams client is faster than before, but still feels bloated compared to Zoom or Google Meet when it comes to pure video conferencing performance. Meetings with large groups especially can become messy, laggy, or resource heavy.

I also feel Microsoft keeps pushing new AI/Copilot features while some core meeting stability and usability issues still remain unresolved.

Good enterprise collaboration suite overall, but for video conferencing specifically, competitors still provide a smoother and more reliable experience in many cases.

Personally, I feel they missed out on a huge opportunity during the Covid period and let Zoom take over instead of positioning Skype as the go to tool for video conferencing. There are a lot of things I don’t like about this. The authentication process is really annoying and overly engineered (as if someone is going to try to log in to do my work instead of me!), and most of the time I run into errors or other issues that prevent me from authenticating or even logging in. Then, if I try to sign in with another account, it turns into a complete nightmare. On top of that, for some reason, events in my calendar just don’t show up at all. What we value most about Microsoft Teams is its ability to keep our geographically distributed newsroom connected through reliable video communication. With team members spread across different regions in Spain—including Andalusia, Catalonia, Castilla-La Mancha, Valencia, and our headquarters in Madrid—Teams plays an important role in maintaining day-to-day coordination.

It enables us to run regular editorial meetings, quick check-ins, and project discussions via video calls, which becomes especially important during periods of remote work. Its calendar integration and file-sharing features also help streamline collaboration, making it easier to schedule meetings, organize materials, and keep everyone aligned even when we’re working from different locations. One of the main drawbacks of Microsoft Teams is that it can feel heavy and, at times, slow—especially when I’m juggling multiple chats, meetings, and files at the same time. Performance also seems to vary depending on the device, which can affect the overall experience, particularly during calls.

On top of that, the interface can feel less intuitive than more lightweight communication tools. Moving between chats, channels, and meetings isn’t always as smooth or seamless as I’d expect, and for quick, informal communication, other tools can feel faster and more natural. Calls always seem to have some kind of problem. It also sometimes silences notifications for new meetings: the meeting shows up, but the chat is muted and I don’t get any notifications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the possilbility of easy creation groups for meeting, built-in calendar for the coming soon meetings and the possibility to connect outer application and integrate them with Teams, for example Jira. For Jira, I can preview Jira work item links, share Jira status updates directly into our channel, create, comment, or edit work items without leaving Microsoft Teams. What's really annoing me -is the need to log in again every few days. Sometimes I don't see that I was texted (no notification is shown); it must be a bug, so I may miss some important information. Also, the mobile version quickly logs out and is very hard to log in - it takes a lot of time to login, that makes the app almost useless Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Microsoft Teams offers a good central platform for communication and collaboration. The UI is generally modern, but with many chats, teams, and channels, it quickly appears overloaded. The UX is solid, but could be more intuitive and clearer.

The integration into Microsoft 365 is very strong. Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Office applications work seamlessly together and significantly facilitate daily collaboration.

The performance is generally stable, but depending on the size of the environment, performance issues or delays occasionally occur, especially in large meetings or with many parallel chats.

In terms of price, Teams is attractive, especially if Microsoft 365 licenses are already being used. The ROI is good, as many functions are combined in one platform and additional tools can be reduced.

Onboarding is relatively easy, especially for companies with an existing Microsoft environment. The support is acceptable, but strongly depends on the chosen license and support model.

The AI functions with Microsoft Copilot show potential, for example in meeting summaries or task management. Currently, however, some functions do not yet seem fully developed or deliver varying quality depending on the use case. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The UI quickly becomes confusing with intensive use. Many chats, teams, channels, and notifications make navigation difficult and impair the UX in everyday use.

With integrations, Microsoft 365 works very well, but external integrations or third-party solutions sometimes seem less consistent or require additional administrative effort.

The performance is not always consistent. Teams requires comparatively many system resources and sometimes responds sluggishly during large meetings, many open chats, or on weaker hardware.

The pricing structure can become complex, especially when additional features like Teams Premium or Copilot are needed. This quickly increases the overall costs.

Support is variably accessible depending on the contract, and technical problems sometimes take a long time to be finally resolved. Also, the onboarding of new features often happens very quickly, which can overwhelm users.

The best thing about it is that it’s not complex at all. It has a simple UI that basically does everything, so it’s easy to use and navigate. I also like its integration with other Microsoft tools like Outlook, Webex, OneDrive, Copilot, and many more, which reduces the time spent switching from one platform to another. Easy meeting access and calendar integration also help me keep track of upcoming meetings.

Another good part is that we can use it on any device. No matter where you are, you can still access it on your phone and attend meetings from almost anywhere, which has helped reduce travel time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It glitches a lot. The overall working of Teams isn’t very smooth, and the software lags many times. It also often doesn’t notify me about messages. I’m already logged in through the company, so I don’t have to add a password, but despite that it randomly logs me out, which is pretty annoying. Another major issue is the video and audio glitches. Most of the time we face problems with unclear voice or video. Since we work on Teams daily, these small glitches quickly become a bigger problem. Microsoft Teams was great when it first released, as it was a simple and inexpensive instant messenger, for Microsoft environments, and it added some nice collaborative features once it integrated in with Office. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

That same integration with the rest of MS Office didn't seem to work as smoothly as planned. We have a hybrid environment where we have some on-prem servers, but we use MS Exchange Online for email. They still do not play well, never have, and the integration has gotten worse.
