## Navisworks Reviews
  ### 1. Navisworks Makes Clash Detection Fast and Crystal Clear

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pilla T. | Mechanical Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Navisworks?**

Navisworks excels at bringing architectural, structural, and MEP models together into a single coordinated environment, then running fast, easy-to-read clash tests that clearly flag conflicts (pipe vs. beam, duct vs. cable tray, etc.) without requiring any edits to the source files. This makes it straightforward to sort, prioritize, and report clashes early in the process, which directly helps reduce rework, RFIs, and field delays.

**What do you dislike about Navisworks?**

Navisworks is purely a review/coordination tool, so you can’t directly fix clashes in the model; you have to switch back to Revit, AutoCAD, or your authoring software to make changes and then reload. For fast‑paced projects, this constant round‑tripping can slow down coordination and feel inefficient

**What problems is Navisworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Navisworks mainly solves two big project‑level problems: federated model chaos and late‑discovered clashes/schedule risks, and it benefits you by turning those into early, visual, and sharable coordination outputs.

  ### 2. Makes Complex 3D Coordination and Clash Detection Surprisingly Manageable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abinesh T. | BIM Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Navisworks?**

What I like most about Autodesk Navisworks is the way it pulls complex 3D models into a single place, so clash detection and coordination stay clear and highly visual. It makes the whole process feel surprisingly manageable, even when you’re working on large projects.

**What do you dislike about Navisworks?**

What I dislike about Autodesk Navisworks is that it can feel heavy and slow when working with large models. The interface also isn’t very intuitive for beginners, so there’s a bit of a learning curve. On top of that, some of the more advanced features are locked behind higher-tier versions, which can be limiting.

**What problems is Navisworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Autodesk Navisworks helps solve coordination and clash-detection challenges by bringing models from different disciplines together into a single federated view. For me, this means I can spot design conflicts early, cut down on costly rework on site, and keep collaboration between teams smoother, more organized, and easier to manage.

  ### 3. Great for Clash Detection, But Needs Smoother Workflow and Modern Interface

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arlette A. | Freelance Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Navisworks?**

What I like best about Navisworks is how effective it is for coordination and clash detection in multidisciplinary projects.
It allows you to combine multiple models (architectural, structural, MEP) into a single coordinated environment without heavy files.
The clash detection tools are very clear and practical, making it easy to identify, classify, and track conflicts (like MEP vs. structure or cable trays vs. plumbing).

**What do you dislike about Navisworks?**

It’s a review-only tool—you can’t fix clashes directly, so you always have to go back to Revit or another authoring software, which can slow down coordination.

Clash results management can become messy on large projects if naming conventions and rules aren’t well defined.

The interface feels outdated compared to newer Autodesk tools and isn’t very intuitive for new users.

**What problems is Navisworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can detect and document clashes early, reducing rework, RFIs, and construction delays.

It supports my role in QA/QC and coordination, allowing me to review models without modifying them.

I can clearly classify, prioritize, and explain issues using clash tests, viewpoints, and reports.

It improves collaboration by providing visual, easy-to-understand evidence of problems for designers and engineers.

Best highlights of Naviswork i can say is Clash Detection and Collaboration of multiple trades in a single file !

**What do you dislike about Navisworks?**

In Naviswork when we open a NWD file there should be an option to delete the NWC files which are loaded in the Main combined file, Because sometimes it causes Overlaping of all the old as well as latest NWC files resulting confusion in current location of objects.

**What problems is Navisworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is solving the most hectic issue of objects clashing with each other, Because if it is not detected at first stage it causes the biggest issue of objects clashing in realtime on site.
It is helping in Coordination of all the trades (e.g Mech, Plum, Arch, Str, Elec) and making the project clash free, Ready for installation on site, Saving time, Money, Rework, Labour cost and many other micro issues.

**What do you like best about Navisworks?**

Navisworks is one of my go-to tools for model aggregation and clash detection. I love how it allows me to bring together multiple trades into a single federated model and quickly identify coordination issues. The clash detective is powerful and reliable, especially when managing large healthcare projects where precision is critical. The timeline and quantification tools are also helpful for advanced users. It’s a must-have for the QA/QC process in BIM workflows.

**What do you dislike about Navisworks?**

The interface feels dated, and navigating large models isn’t as smooth as it could be. Setting up search sets or custom rules can be tedious, especially compared to more modern tools. I also wish the clash reports were more customizable or easier to export in more visual formats. While it’s powerful, it hasn’t evolved much in recent years.

**What problems is Navisworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Navisworks helps us catch coordination issues early by aggregating models from multiple disciplines and running clash detection efficiently. It reduces RFIs and delays during construction by allowing us to resolve conflicts before they hit the field. It's a flexible tool, that can integrarte mmultiple extensions at he same time, it helps detect clashes between various disciplines and softwares, as it is easy to you use, it helps visualsing and preventing damages to the construction at early phases of the life cycle of the construction, and it's easy to install to the pc or laptop, and it's fairly used by companies, and we use frequentley during our meeting because it helps cummunicating and support our client during the exucution phase or study phase of the project.

**What do you dislike about Navisworks?**

There is few negatives but once we create a NWD file it becomes hard to delete unwanted models, for example itf we updated a model we need to create a new NWD file with all the old models plus the model that was updated the latest, and it can add up unneccessary time wasted on one file that could updated by 2 clicks instead of going through the whole process of intergrating models that most of time are very large files that needs time to be imported.

**What problems is Navisworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps communicate between different softwares, creating a whole model with different disciplines getting a model ready to be delivered to be employed with no errors as all the rapports from Naivs works helps professionals create plans to prevent the problems found.
