**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aman K. | IT Associate Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 25, 2025

**What do you like best about n8n?**

I use n8n for automating day-to-day manual and repetitive tasks, which saves me a lot of time and helps me schedule tasks with fixed timelines. It has a vast majority of integrations, and almost everything is possible to automate. The Agentic AI feature, webhooks, and data manipulation tools are especially valuable to me. I enjoy using a variety of AI agents and customizing the system prompts to provide exact and expected results. The setup was challenging, but it was fun and a learning experience.

**What do you dislike about n8n?**

I've only faced this challenge with handling errors. The errors could be described more clearly. Also, there's no AI feature for the self-hosted n8n version. It would be great if we had a BYOK AI agent feature for self-hosted n8n.

**What problems is n8n solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use n8n to automate repetitive tasks, which saves me a lot of time and ensures I meet deadlines. It helps eliminate human error and handles manual processes efficiently.

  ### 8. I can create anything!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sherrin V. | Technical Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2025

**What do you like best about n8n?**

The fact that it was not possible to make so many applications speak with each other before and that it is so customizable!

**What do you dislike about n8n?**

More readymade nodes and plugins.. cost needs to go down eventually! Maybe have more blotato kind of services built in. compared to make

**What problems is n8n solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This tool is automating four of my social media forums, allowing me to post platform-specific content based on a single submission, caption, or hashtag idea that I enter into an initial Airtable base. I can even submit this form directly from my phone. My content factory workflows now combine audio and video into single or multiple files, whether stitched together or separate, and send them intelligently to the publishing platforms I choose. There's also a feature to publish immediately or add posts to a queue. I ended up letting go of my social media agency because of this. Just a year ago, managing all of this would have been impossible!

  ### 9. Flexible and powerful automation to optimize daily processes

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laura P. | analista de sucesso cliente, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2025

**What do you like best about n8n?**

The flexibility of n8n is what attracts me the most. It allows integrating different tools in a simple and efficient way, without needing advanced programming knowledge. The visual interface greatly facilitates the creation of complex workflows, and the fact that it is open source allows for customizations. Additionally, the community is very active, which helps in finding quick solutions.

**What do you dislike about n8n?**

The initial learning curve can be a bit challenging for those who have never worked with automations. Some nodes are still limited compared to native integrations from other players, which sometimes requires workarounds. I also notice that, in very large flows, performance can be affected and visualization becomes less practical.

**What problems is n8n solving and how is that benefiting you?**

n8n has been solving integration problems between different systems that previously required a lot of manual work or custom development. With it, we can automate repetitive processes, centralize information, and reduce operational failures. This has brought increased productivity, time savings for the team, and greater agility in delivering results, as well as allowing us to scale processes without proportionally increasing the workload.

  ### 10. Ready-to-use blocks and a drag-and-drop that speeds up the work

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rodrigo Juan H. | IoT Expert - AI Integrator, Consulting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about n8n?**

The availability of ready-to-use blocks and the feature of dragging and dropping data structures between blocks.

**What do you dislike about n8n?**

Having to integrate each AI model separately and not having centralized cost control.

**What problems is n8n solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problems where the steps are well defined. For example, translation and publication of articles on a blog. Also, querying data from different sources, processing the data, notification, reports, and automatic actions.

  ### 11. The Best Experience for Developers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lucas F. | Engenheiro de Integração, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2025

**What do you like best about n8n?**

This is, by far, the best tool I've ever used. If I have the opportunity and the necessary dedication, I want to delve deeper into learning it. I currently work with Mulesoft, and every time I make a change, I need to restart the local server, which takes quite a while. Being able to fix the results and debug real requests with the same data is something revolutionary, far beyond any other experience I've had.
Integrating with any external tool, like Google Docs, Sheets, GDrive, ChatGPT, integrating with the WhatsApp API has become very easy.
With good training, one can become an implementation machine, given how easy the tool's implementation is.

**What do you dislike about n8n?**

It could spread more in the corporate world and companies see it as a robust tool. A good indicator would be to find job openings in large companies for N8N developers. I searched on LinkedIn and didn't find any.

**What problems is n8n solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Today I am studying to see the applicability, but a market where I see a strong path would be the replacement of integration tools like Mulesoft, which has many similar features, but Mulesoft has become expensive. This would make the cost of implementations cheaper from the server's point of view and also from the implementation's perspective.

  ### 12. Drag-and-Drop Agent Connections Made Easy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arshad I. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2026

**What do you like best about n8n?**

Drag and drop to connect all agents, like chatbots, webhooks, Google Sheets, and manual connections to any app via links and MCP.

**What do you dislike about n8n?**

You’re not just building automations—you end up acting like a SysAdmin. You have to stay on top of Docker updates, manage SSL certificates, handle database backups (Postgres), and keep the server secure.

**What problems is n8n solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me automate all kinds of tasks, like gathering leads, filtering the results, using a chatbot for my web app/websites, and automatically sending product updates via email.

  ### 13. Frees Me from Repetitive Tasks—Automation Done Right

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Umer S. | Consultant Automation and Reverse Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2025

**What do you like best about n8n?**

It allows me to pull away from repetitive tasks and focus on more pressing issues. Thats exactly how intelligence and automation should help us.

**What do you dislike about n8n?**

I've been trying to pay or subscribe to n8n and it has been disallowed for some reason and I am forced to use trial versions over and over and I loose bunch of stuff due to this restriction. I used a Standard Chartered Bank debit card. I've used it for other overseas payments easily but with n8n, something is off.

**What problems is n8n solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to pull away from repetitive tasks , i hate doing that. and it integrates well with a number of platforms.

  ### 14. n8n is the Backbone of My Workflow

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda P. | DBA, Non-Profit Organization Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2025

**What do you like best about n8n?**

n8n has quietly become one of those tools I can’t imagine not having in my stack. It’s open-source, flexible, and doesn’t box me into the kind of limitations I’ve hit with Zapier or Make. The visual workflow builder makes it easy to map ideas into reality, and the huge library of nodes covers most of what I use daily. The biggest win for me is the sense of ownership—being able to extend, tweak, or even build my own nodes without waiting for a vendor to decide if my use case is worth supporting.

That said, n8n isn’t a frictionless “plug and play” experience. There’s definitely a learning curve, especially once you start building more complex logic or hit authentication quirks. The documentation is improving but can still feel patchy when you’re troubleshooting edge cases.

For the right person, though, this is a powerhouse. If you like tinkering, value flexibility, and want to own your automations instead of renting them, n8n is incredible. It really is the Linux of automation—open, powerful, and customizable. Not everyone will want to deal with the upkeep, but if you’re after long-term scalability and freedom, it’s hard to beat.

**What do you dislike about n8n?**

The main struggle with n8n is the learning curve. While the drag-and-drop builder is intuitive at a glance, things get tricky once you dive into advanced logic or work with less common integrations. Sometimes you need to understand concepts like expressions, error handling, or node dependencies to really get the outcome you want, and that can feel overwhelming if you’re coming from simpler tools. Once you get over that hump, though, the flexibility pays off.

**What problems is n8n solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The real problem n8n solves for me is fragmentation. Before, I had different tools duct-taped together, each with its own limits and rising costs. n8n gives me a single hub where I can connect apps, data, and custom logic in one place. Instead of being boxed into whatever integrations another platform decides to support, I can actually design workflows around my needs. That means I spend less time fighting with workarounds and more time building systems that actually run the way I want. The benefit is freedom—freedom from vendor lock-in, freedom to experiment, and freedom to scale my automations without worrying about cost spirals.

  ### 15. Easy to Use and Extremely Affordable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Davide F. | Head of Growth, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2026

**What do you like best about n8n?**

I like the simplicity of using n8n and the ability for it to be used by people with different technical backgrounds or who are not programmers. I really appreciate the community where you can find many templates to use for your own work. Additionally, the new chat is useful for speeding up the creation of even complex workflows.

**What do you dislike about n8n?**

I think the web book section could be improved because it is still a bit challenging for those who are not programmers.

**What problems is n8n solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use n8n to connect various tools in our platform, facilitating communication and sending notifications without involving programmers.

  ### 16. A brighter future

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Irfaan G. | Clerk, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2025

**What do you like best about n8n?**

n8n is a powerful tool that gives me the freedom to connect countless software platforms while running everything locally. The ability to self-host means I’m not tied to third-party restrictions, and the flexibility it provides feels almost limitless. At 52, I’m enthusiastic about learning and exploring this technology—it proves that innovation has no age limit. n8n truly delivers virtual freedom and endless possibilities for automation.

**What do you dislike about n8n?**

While n8n is a strong automation tool, there are areas that could be improved. Some features available in the cloud version are not accessible when running locally, which can be frustrating for self-hosted users. Setting up Gmail connections through a tunnel can also be challenging, requiring extra effort. Additionally, error messages are often vague and could benefit from clearer descriptions to make troubleshooting more straightforward.

**What problems is n8n solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use N8n to create an agent. helping me in my smarthome, my workshedule, appointments, etc

  ### 17. User-Friendly UI/UX That’s Easy to Navigate

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mara M. | Operations Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about n8n?**

The app’s UI/UX is very user-friendly and easy to navigate.

**What do you dislike about n8n?**

The n8n agent—the AI—I don’t like it, especially the debugging feature.

**What problems is n8n solving and how is that benefiting you?**

all the zapier issues

  ### 18. Incredible concept validation and easy expansion with API integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose A. | Desarrollador de Software, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2026

**What do you like best about n8n?**

The ease with which I, as a software developer, can validate concepts is truly incredible, as well as how easy it is for me to expand functionality using API integration, one of the best things I love about this tool.

**What do you dislike about n8n?**

At this moment, I haven't seen anything I don't like.

**What problems is n8n solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automation of reporting, daily payment management, asynchronous conversation management, generation of daily reports, implementation of Backend for proof of concept.

  ### 19. Powerful and flexible automation without the hassle

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manuel A. | Senior Developer, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2025

**What do you like best about n8n?**

What I like most about n8n is the freedom it provides to design complex workflows without relying heavily on code. Its visual interface makes the learning curve fast, while still offering the power to customize with JavaScript or advanced integrations. Being open-source and self-hostable also gives a level of control that few similar tools can match.

**What do you dislike about n8n?**

Sometimes the documentation is not as clear or detailed, especially when working with more complex integrations or advanced production setups. I’ve also noticed that performance may require some optimization when handling workflows with a high volume of data.

**What problems is n8n solving and how is that benefiting you?**

n8n helps us automate repetitive tasks and connect tools that don’t natively integrate with each other. Instead of manually moving data between systems, we’ve built workflows that sync information, trigger notifications, and streamline processes across our stack. This saves valuable time, reduces human error, and allows us to scale operations without adding extra resources.

  ### 20. Good but too expensive.

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2025

**What do you like best about n8n?**

Pretty easy to use and versatile. It was easy to get some basic flows up and running. The integrated AI assistant was useful.

**What do you dislike about n8n?**

As a new learner trying to build my skills in AI its just too expensive of a tool to learn on. $25 per month just to have an area to learn is probably reasonable, but if you want to use the tool for anything meaningful, you'll need multitudes of other small accounts that bill you monthly. All combined its several hundred dollars a month, too expensive to keep as a longer term project for learning.

I really liked the integrated AI, but did not like that it defaults to billing you for answers rather than letting me choose when to let it "build" for me. I used a ton of credits inadvertently not realizing the AI switched back to "Build" from "Ask". For a $25 fee, I feel like the user should get more than 50 "build" questions. Its counter intuitive, when you're new and learning on a low cost plan, is probably when you need more "build" questions, versus when you are skilled and likely do not need the "build" AI as much.

**What problems is n8n solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was trying to build a proof of concept to scrape sales leads from forums in various MSA's. I could get it to work for a single MSA, but the data was not reliable, there didnt seem to be a way to get the flow to only provide validated content, it couldn't easily provide links to the source leads in forums like Reddit. Lastly, the "current date" issue in the workflows is impossibly frustrating. I never could find a way to consistently tell the flow how to stay on the current date and not hallucinate random dates to satisfy the instructions in the Agent.

  ### 21. Easy, Powerful AI Automation with Huge Potential

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Iñigo A. | Ejecutivo de Patrocinio Global, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2026

**What do you like best about n8n?**

It offers all the potential for AI-driven automation in the easiest way.

**What do you dislike about n8n?**

Too many updates happen so quickly that I constantly feel out of version.

**What problems is n8n solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps automate processes, add intelligence later, and build a solid architecture.

  ### 22. Amazing UX

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marco F. | Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2026

**What do you like best about n8n?**

The most impressive feature to me is the UX, it's nice to take your ideas and put it to work in N8N

**What do you dislike about n8n?**

The UI sometimes looks old, with a feeling of 2010 like ... but it´s really ok, because the overall experience is really good.

**What problems is n8n solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automating documentation, content production with IA, newsletters and automating marketing rotines.

  ### 23. Simple and Powerful Integration with n8n

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Víctor Alonso S. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about n8n?**

I love how easy it is to work with and implement n8n, and the huge number of integrations that are already native make using the tool easier. However, what I like the most is being able to implement OnPremise. The initial setup was absolutely simple and smooth.

**What do you dislike about n8n?**

Absolutely nothing, I like everything very much.

**What problems is n8n solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use n8n to interconnect tools and automate routine events with the integration of agents with AI, which makes our work easier.

  ### 24. Flexible and Open-Source Workflow Automation Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sabri S. | trainer, Consulting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2025

**What do you like best about n8n?**

n8n provides a powerful and flexible way to automate workflows without heavy coding. I like that it’s open-source, self-hostable, and has a wide range of integrations. The visual editor makes it easy to design and understand workflows, while the ability to extend with custom nodes allows advanced use cases. It strikes a good balance between ease of use and developer-level control.

**What do you dislike about n8n?**

The initial setup for self-hosting can be a bit technical compared to fully managed solutions. Some integrations require manual configuration or API knowledge, which might be challenging for non-technical users. Also, performance can become slower with very large workflows, so optimization is sometimes needed.

**What problems is n8n solving and how is that benefiting you?**

n8n helps me connect different applications and automate complex workflows without relying on multiple disconnected tools. It reduces manual work, speeds up data processing, and allows me to orchestrate tasks securely across different systems. This saves both time and cost, while also improving reliability and scalability of automation processes.

  ### 25. For me, n8n practically makes tools like Zapier or Make redundant.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Malte K. | Designer / CEO, Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2025

**What do you like best about n8n?**

n8n is amazingly intuitive and flexible. It caters to professionals, developers, marketers, and designers alike, making automation accessible without compromising on capabilities. The user interface is clearly structured, workflows are quickly implemented, and there is a wide variety of integrations.

**What do you dislike about n8n?**

Honestly speaking: that I waited so long to try it out. Additionally, with the self-hosted version, you have to take care of updates yourself, which means a bit of extra effort. Otherwise, the entry barrier is surprisingly low, the learning curve is flat, and the community as well as the documentation provide quick help. In retrospect, I could have benefited from the flexibility much earlier.

**What problems is n8n solving and how is that benefiting you?**

n8n solved the problem for me of connecting different tools and systems without expensive third-party services like Zapier or Make. I can automate complex workflows, synchronize data between apps, and map individual processes – exactly the way I need it. This not only saves on licensing costs but also a lot of time in daily life and gives me full control over my automations.

  ### 26. Simple and Brilliant

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sebastian V. | Dueño Co-Fundador, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about n8n?**

versatility and simplicity. something complex in installations if you don't have knowledge but very user-friendly

**What do you dislike about n8n?**

I really have no objections, it keeps getting better, but lately it's been a bit slow compared to other applications. But it's great if you integrate it with other platforms or programs.

**What problems is n8n solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automate what I want, both for my personal environment, professional, and for my clients.

  ### 27. n8n: The Ultimate No-Code Automation Platform with Endless Possibilities

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

n8n is by far the best and most versatile no-code/low-code automation platform. There are nodes for almost all major tools available out of the box. A great and huge community. n8n is well maintained, can be installed as a self-hosted versioin with almost no restrictions. There are countless templates ready to use. The learning curve is very flat, there is a tutorial for every use-case.

**What do you dislike about n8n?**

As with every tool there might be some very specific flaws, which most of the time are solved with new updates.

**What problems is n8n solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use n8n for almost all my automation use-cases, wether for my internal use as well as for my customers. Whenever it is possible I try to 'route' complex issues through n8n.

  ### 28. Powerful, Flexible Automation—Best for Developers, But Can Be Technical for Quick Tasks

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yash P. | AI Engineering Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2025

**What do you like best about n8n?**

n8n is a great workflow automation tool, especially if you like flexibility and control. I love the fact that it's so developer-friendly and easy to implement setup is quick, and I had my first workflow running within minutes. You get to make custom functions, API connections a snap, and build complex automation without unnecessary limitations. The UI editor is intuitive, and the self-hosted option is a massive victory for privacy and scalability. I use n8n almost on a daily basis for AI workflow integrations, API endpoint testing, and logic operations. Community support and docs are excellent, and it's fantastic to see how often new integrations are introduced.

**What do you dislike about n8n?**

Although n8n is a powerful tool, it can occasionally feel too technical when you just want to accomplish simple tasks. Certain nodes require manual configuration or some scripting expertise, and troubleshooting more complex workflows can be challenging. The cloud version offers convenience, but its performance may fluctuate depending on the current load. Still, this is a reasonable trade-off considering the flexibility n8n provides.

**What problems is n8n solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use n8n as our iPaaS layer to connect a variety of internal and external services, similar to how a digital wallet like Khalti manages payments, verifications, and notifications. n8n enables us to automate API-driven workflows, monitor system health, and handle transaction logic without the need to write custom scripts for each integration. This approach has made our integrations quicker, more reliable, and simpler to maintain.

**What problems is n8n solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hi! I'm currently working on building my Ultimate Personal Assistant, inspired by Nate Herk's AI automation tutorials. I'm using Telegram to schedule my meetings, and n8n is playing a crucial role in automating this process.

Before using n8n, I had to manually handle meeting scheduling, which was time-consuming and prone to errors. I would receive meeting requests via Telegram, check my availability, update my calendar, and send confirmations—all manually. This not only took a lot of time but also increased the chances of double-booking or missing important meetings.

With n8n, I've automated this entire process. When someone sends a meeting request to my Telegram bot, n8n triggers a workflow that checks my availability, suggests possible meeting times, updates my calendar, and sends a confirmation back to the requester. This automation has been a game-changer for me.

The benefits I've experienced are numerous. First and foremost, it saves me a significant amount of time. I no longer have to manually switch between apps or worry about keeping track of multiple requests. This has allowed me to focus more on my work and other important tasks.

Secondly, n8n has reduced errors. By automating the scheduling process, I've minimized the risk of double-booking or missing meetings. My calendar is always up-to-date, and I receive notifications whenever there's a new meeting request or a change in someone's availability.

Another benefit is the ability to handle multiple requests simultaneously. Before, if I received several meeting requests at once, it could become overwhelming. With n8n, each request is processed automatically, ensuring that everything runs smoothly without any delays.

Additionally, n8n's open-source nature has been a huge advantage. It allows me to customize the tool to fit my specific needs, making it a cost-effective solution for my project. The n8n community and extensive documentation have also been invaluable as I navigate any challenges during my learning journey.

Overall, n8n has streamlined my meeting scheduling process, saved me time, reduced errors, and allowed me to focus on more critical aspects of my work. It's an essential tool in my journey to build an efficient and reliable Ultimate Personal Assistant.

  ### 35. Flexible, powerful, and self-managed

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Víctor G. | Head of Product, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2025

**What do you like best about n8n?**

The flexibility it offers to automate complex processes without relying on external services. By being able to deploy it on our own servers, we have full control over the data, security, and performance. Additionally, the interface is intuitive and allows both technical and non-technical profiles to collaborate in the creation of workflows.

**What do you dislike about n8n?**

Some native integrations are still in beta phase or do not have all the advanced options. We have also had to manually adjust some aspects to fit our stack, but nothing particularly problematic.

**What problems is n8n solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the initial challenges was ensuring data persistence and performance control when deploying it on our own servers. We also had to create some custom connectors because some native integrations were limited. However, this has allowed us to learn a lot about its architecture and fully adapt it to our needs.

How does this benefit us? It gives us total technological independence, savings on licensing costs, and a very quick response capability to internal changes. We have been able to automate key tasks without relying on closed solutions, with full control over security and scalability.

  ### 36. 100% recommend. Great for Self-Hosting, but Typescript Limits Performance

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonah M. | Entrepreneur, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2025

**What do you like best about n8n?**

Self-hosting does not incur any direct fees, though you will still need to cover the expenses associated with operating your own hardware.

You can effectively write your own workflow with less than an hour of learning from zero.

If you decide to go with the cloud option, getting started takes less than ten minutes.

n8n has top of the line support, you WILL get your question answered in a reasonable amount of time. On top of that, you can ask the n8n doc AI for help, it will have you covered 90% of the time.

I use n8n for 90% of my AI automation.

**What do you dislike about n8n?**

My only qualm is that it's written in Typescript.

n8n could run so much faster if it were written in C++.

You won't really notice the difference unless you have a background in Operating Systems development.

**What problems is n8n solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use n8n for creating AI automation system for clients for my business and also to streamline my workflow in general.

  ### 38. Incredible variety of connectors and function nodes

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roland W. | Nachhaltigkeitsberater/-auditor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2026

**What do you like best about n8n?**

The incredible variety of connectors and function nodes

**What do you dislike about n8n?**

In some cases, especially with merge nodes, it is difficult to predict the resulting structure of the JSON. I have the impression that some things are relatively hard overwritten; the existing information is not sufficient for me.

For HTTP requests, only the result is returned. An additional property like "adopt input JSON" would be extremely helpful here. As a selectable option, this would simplify a lot.

**What problems is n8n solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's about integrating AI functionality into workflows. AI analysis results are often helpful and make it easier for me to handle, especially with complex processes.

  ### 39. n8n is incredible. I wish I had more programming experience.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2025

**What do you like best about n8n?**

My Disclaimer up front - I am not an IT professional this is not something I do for work, I am purely a hobbyist trying to have some fun and hopefully make my life a bit easier.

What do I like most about n8n? Honestly it's what the product is itself. It's a workflow tool. I've not even delved into the deep end yet and I've already been able to setup an assistant that I can message in discord, it sends it over to an AI (can be local or cloud hosted), It'll run the tools I've provided it, and provide me feedback in a very easily readable format. (Heck you can even toss a TTS on there to include in the output for when you're not actively reading.)

I feel like for anyone who actually knows what they're doing this can be an extremely powerful tool - especially if you have work flow diagrams that already exist.

**What do you dislike about n8n?**

The downside? I would say that in order to get the most out of n8n you need some level of programming experience. It doesn't have to be much, but when you're trying to build more complex workflows, trying to split out tasks or fields it helps to know a bit of JSON and personally I don't. Am I getting through it? Yes, but it's taking a bit more extra effort on my behalf, I think for some other's they'd have this down no issue.

Also I think it'd be neat if there was a way to build in say a container and a python running inside the system that way I don't have to build one outside myself and toss a post at it to interact. For one of my projects I essentially had to build an outside listener that could pass information because I didn't see one available built in. Perhaps an active listener already exists, but if it does I didn't see and if I did I probably still wouldn't know how to use it.

**What problems is n8n solving and how is that benefiting you?**

What problems is n8n solving for me, and how is it benefiting me? That's a great question. Lets preface my answer with I'm not a business, I'm simply an individual trying to add improvements to my day. I have a personal server (little hobby server) that I've been trying to slowly move my stuff out of the cloud on to, whether that's been my photo libraries, or documents, and running a few experiments like an auto-translation tool for monitoring/moderating chat clients. Although I haven't gotten my n8n there yet, I fully intend to, what has it solved for me today? Being an individual with limited but lets say power user level of experience, I've already been able to setup an AI assistant in there that has been able to help troubleshoot issues for me. An example would be when I asked it, "hey my CPU and RAM usage is out of control, I don't know what's going wrong" having given it access to a CLI it was able to check my system services and informed me that my ffmpeg was maxing out. It also gave me a platform that I could further ask questions to diagnose the problem. I have yet to give it more elevated permissions so that it could read and manage my docker containers, but there's definitely potential there. And if you go about this route n8n has thought about that as well, you can add human in the loop so if it want's to perform a task it must ask and wait for approval. I have no doubt that you can get a lot more use out of this then I will ever figure out on my own. Maybe my next steps will be including this in my home monitor suite for Intrusion Detection and Prevention.
