What do you like best?

Odoo brings ERP at the best price point - without compromising on features! No other ERP comes close to this level of support and user satisfaction. The bigger companies get you bogged down with years of custom development that you don't really need. Odoo cuts through to give you just what you need, and then supports you through the years with upgrades and maintenance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The documentation is somewhat lacking, and custom development can be a tar-baby. Because of this I highly recommend using one of Odoo's partners to do an implementation, they know the ins and outs of Odoo and can help you avoid wasting time and resources, and if they are honest with you (most are) they will steer you away from unnecessary custom development, when an existing module can be made to work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

My previous employer was using Quickbooks Enterprise which was simply insufficient for their needs, and I was tasked with finding a replacement. When I found Odoo, it was exactly what they needed. The benefits were obvious - no more orders dropped between the cracks! Everything has a status, and everyone knows what to expect at all times. No more manual syncing between various tracking software and endpoints - Odoo handles all of it. There are still a lot of things left to implement, but if they continue to invest in Odoo, the business will be transformed. Since leaving that employer to start a new company, I now install Odoo for all sorts of businesses, and we continue to see the benefits. We use it ourselves, every day. What do you like best?

Odoo is very versatile by its own. Something it doesn't have? Just build it and in the less time possible you'll be up and running.

Customers have taken all the advantage of it and also suppliers we've integrated to. All these in no time.

What makes customers choose Odoo over competitors is the features and level of integration module have between them. It's like no other ERP. Of course, the UI is one of the most appealing things it has.

Mobile in a native app makes it the solution to work wherever you are. Multiplatform, multicompany and truly multicurrency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Their support tends to be too much on the tech side. However with a good partner that offers a premium service this can be handled.

On the other hand, the easy work flow it handles makes it impossible to beat when comparing with other solutions in the market and at its level.

Bug fixing has to improve. Partners have most of the fixing on them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Anyone that is going to implement must know that they need to commit to it. Even though it's easier it's totally a team work to do it and be able to succeed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Odoo is our daily driver. All administration and operation tasks are being done on it.

Customers have been able to transform their business to digital in such an easy way with the help of Odoo and our team.

Accounting, purchasing and the whole SCM gets much more productive by having the much needed automation businesses need these days. From simple messaging to MRP and more, Odoo gets everyone covered. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

The most helpful element of the ERP is the design concept. Odoo stands for "On Demand Open Object". This allows users with the appropriate permissions access to a wide degree of customization within the ERP to enhance workflow without locking yourself into a higher price bracket. Odoo naturally incorporates the most common customizations in future versions, streamlining enhancements. And since the design is open, there is no feeling that they are holding your data hostage. You own it, you can access it, and update it with mass imports, using the highly flexible import and export system. This allowed us to complete an emergency, bare-bones migration in 6 weeks, instead of 6 months without having to use a single SQL query or import tool. Since the entire ERP is web-based, there is no limit as to where you can access the ERP and no clunky "clients" to install. The transaction from sales order to purchase order to manufacturing order are handled in such a way to streamline operations and reduce the amount of water-cooler chat required to keep everybody up to speed on the latest goings-on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The ERP often too rigid when mistakes are made or when changes happen. For example, if a customer requests their sales order to be changed to a drop-shipment. The bugs in the behind the scenes automation when such changes occur can necessitate canceling the sales order and/or purchase order line and starting over. Likewise if your customer confirmed a quote and you later discovered the item routing, say from manufacture to drop-ship, was incorrectly configured. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Enhanced web and e-commerce presence, better product sourcing rules and records. Better information flow from one stage of a customer transaction to the next (I.e. quote to sales order to manufacturing order to purchase order). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

On first blush it appeared Odoo would solve all our needs. Its secure, in the cloud, appeared moldable to our use cases and support was responsive. But after becoming a client it became very apparent it was more window dressing than anything. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

We were promised that the software could do what we needed as well as be customized to the exact requests we had, right down to certain toggles for custom fields in certain places. We invested roughly $20,000 in their custom development service as well as started paying the monthly fee at $300usd roughly per month. After working with the dev team for months it was becoming apparent that what we were promised was not in fact doable. Work arounds and shortcuts were attempted to no avail. In the end Odoo handed us off to several account managers, and took months to respond back to us on our request to end the project and have our unused portion of the deposited funds returned. in the end the elected to return zero. The process was a massive waste of time and resources. Although working with theier team to rectify things they took a hard position and accepted zero responsibility.

Reflecting back, I would have simply chosen to do a custom build out with a local development firm over this charade. We chose Odoo because we beleived it would have shaved months from development since most of the core functionality is already built. Instead what we got was absolutely nothing. No useable software and no portion of our unused funds. Very disappointing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Realized zero benefits. Wanted to track sales metrics better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

The specialty I found interesting in ERP is the easiest access to any page without much loading time. A lot of time saved due to the view that odoo has adapted for each page. Most of the work is done through ERP and can be easily handled by any person with minimal knowledge of computers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The report generation can be a bit more user-friendly especially for those who are new to the software and there are many more features that odoo can improve on the next version release.

The customization can be much improved for reliable usages Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

What do you like best?

Odoo ERP Is a fully customized ERP solution for your business. It is the best in the field in this price tag. It is an All-in-one ERP solution; it includes everything that is needed for your organization to manage all your stuff. It does not matters in which niche you are. Odoo will always be a plus point in your organization. CRM, sales, project management, or inventory management, it includes all these services. It can be used for multiple purposes. An all in one go-to application for our organization. Odoo is a very versatile tool made for all HRIS problems. It has quite an enhanced flow of work. The speed is another plus point of this tool. Even though it offers multiple options within one dashboard but it never slows down, the user interface is so simple and understandable that anyone with minimum knowledge of ERP can understand everything on the dashboard within minutes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The developers in the latest updates are doing some mistakes, they have added some features which are not useful at all, so we do not need them and there is no option to customize the dashboard according to our need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The page-viewing feature of this tool is mind-blowing; it has helped us a lot in saving a lot of time. We no longer have to look into each page one by one to look out the matters. The implementation is also very easy and simple. It offers easy integration with your system and within no time, it is ready to go. The reporting feature has also been very useful to us. What do you like best?

Great service initially, interesting software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Be weary of empty promises. Retained Odoo for an EMR buildout after we were PROMISED they could deliver on our needs. Upon further interaction we realized these needs could not be met. Not only were we not refunded for the hours we had actually utilized, they refused to refund us any of our unused retainer. If you want to say goodbye to huge sums of money very quickly with no usable product by all means, retain Odoo. Will not refer nor will I be engaging them again in the future. What do you like best?

Odoo ERP is modular system, easy to implement on phases. You don't have to invest alot to start, use what you need. License price is excellent for value. It allows multi company, multi currency, multi warehouse. Web application no need to install and works on mobiles. It has large community to get help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The frequent update of new versions with major technology change every year makes you feel you are outdated, while the current system is good enough. The 3rd party apps on odoo store might not fulfill the expected function and quality. The customization availability as open-source software might lead over customization leading to lots of bugs while an odoo expert can avoid the customization with built-in configurations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

As any ERP system, you need to plan ahead, and use Odoo implementation way of going in phases. A phase for each department.

It also important to provide good training for the users early in the project.

Consult with experts and odoo partners who provide valuable help to speed things up and avoid poor implementation and hard to fix mistakes.

Minimize customization as much as you can, as odoo out of the box can cover at lease 80% of your needs.

Host with odoo.sh at least in the first year to overcome all back-end infrastructure work, such as installation, security, backup, optimization and setting up a testing environment, and managing customization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Odoo solves all business process problems. It increased the efficiency of employees as any average computer or mobile user can learn using it in no time. It covers most business functions out of the box. It solved the problem of integrated other needed software by providing it within odoo, such as the eCommerce. It solved the problem of data analytics and BI with 2D reports and can easily help building advanced reports with KPIs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

The main reason we switched to Odoo over Monday, Quickbooks, and Jobber (what we currently had) was for cohesion as well as overall ease of customization.

We had to have invoices in Jobber sync up for transactions made in Quickbooks which often led to many man hours used in fruitless reconsolidating. Many updates in Jobber had to also be made in Quickbooks. Leads in Monday would be slow after years of documents being uploaded to it.

Switching to Odoo made this a one stop shop for all of our CRM, Accounting, Invoicing, and overall business needs.

Being able to customize the layout of the ERP has been great. There is a learning curve but it is WELL worth the time put in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

As much as I love this system, this is currently not the best for every company, especially those who have to handle many value-add activities. For example, things can overlap each other in the Project app. Sure, you can search and create sub-tasks for each portion of a Sales Order, but there could be a more streamlined look in the UI to make this easier for our Operations team to handle. Maybe we were spoiled with the ease of Monday when it came down to adding project details in a chart that was very easy to view with multiple projects at a time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are solving analytical issues with up to date by the minute analytics. This personally helps save me time as an analyst since I have to analyze thousands of SKU's and make decisions on what stock of carpet to buy, while also assisting me in forecasts of design selections and overall projections.

The benefits of this ERP is the synergy of systems, which overall creates an ease of system processing in all departments and thus leading to higher revenue and profit streams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

I like how extensive the fields are for capturing information out of the box (contacts, products, etc) and then our ability to add more fields to capture information specific to our business and how we operate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes fields that I feel should easily relate to each other do not and we have to seek out customization from the development team at Odoo or an outside vendor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I would highly recommend demoing the product. Odoo makes it very easy to do so and I think you would quickly find out that it would be a good fit for your business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have been able to eliminate so many excel files that we were previously using as databases and now house all of the same information in Odoo. We also have greatly improved our communication within the company by using the notes and tagging users in the different transactional screens (quotes, orders, invoices, etc). What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are solving a lot of the problems companies face when doing their business transactions manually. A lot of paperwork. What do you like best?

Odoo operates with very simple apps that are pretty easy to use "out-of-the-box. It also has a great community that helps find how-to's. I implemented the ERP with very little help from 3rd parties. It also has a pretty thorough localization for Mexico. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

It's UI is pretty difficult to adopt. It can be said that it is retro; looks like Windows 97. Also, many configurations are able to be performed through the Admin but these are not simple. Finally the documentation of the platform is pitiful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It is a really good alternative but don't hire their services package; they are really slow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our organization consists of 4 companies in 4 countries. We are currently using Odoo ERP for registering all our accounting, performing consolidations, expense logging, generating sales orders and invoices, We also have these processes integrated with our CRM (full disclosure it is Odoo too).

As said before because we self-implemented this platform, we really saved lots of money. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Odoo offers a complete ERP system that can cover things like CRM, Inventory, Purchasing, MRP, and and E-commerce. Fairly complete system that is ready to use as SaaS or Odoo.sh hosted. If you are just starting your business or company, molding your company to the Odoo way will give you a successful launch. More complex configurations will take time to roll out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Customizations are painful to make and Odoo provided services are not a can do type of attitude. The most common response I get about a customization is "That isn't how we do things." It is extremely frustrating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you can demo Odoo and find it completely covers your requirements, you will enjoy using it. If you find yourself needing many customizations, make sure that you get those changes made BEFORE you try to go live.

Train your staff and use the system in a test mode covering all operations before going live. You may find that if you make an error that you can't just delete the mistake. Sometimes you will need to make adjustments to cancel the operation and then redo. Odoo tries to keep complete history of your company. Mistakes must be corrected through adjustments, not deletions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Inventory management is greatly improved over the several different systems that we were using before. It is great to be able to see what we have on hand from raw materials to finished goods. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Easy to learn. Software is intuitive so training users is very easy.

Customization is fairly easy. You can use tools within application to add fields, hide fields etc.

Community is very large, although somewhat limited in the US. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Security. This is hard to describe so please stay with me. The software is very easy to learn so users get bold very quickly. Then they make mistakes. So as the admin you ask how you can limit those mistakes. That is hard to do. The security is adequate at best because it is not granular enough to limit user errors. Yes errors can be fixed but not always easily nor as cleanly as you would like. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We now have one system for e-commerce and ERP. That means we manage orders, items, and customer data in one system.

Also, training is much faster than with our old system. We had so many fields and screens we didn’t use. Odoo has what we need and little else. Customization is much easier and faster as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Abundant features, can be used to control every aspect of our business. Many modules can be added to cater to your specific needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Some areas of the program feel redundant, certain functions are hard to understand. Took us quite some time to get a hang of things and learn how to use all of the features properly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Be careful setting things up. Make sure everything is done correctly from the start, as it is very hard to fix down the road. Explore your options of using their online version/local version (community vs. enterprise). The enterprise version is much customization with 3rd party modules and features. If I did everything over again, I would still choose Odoo over any other options, but would probably hire a 3rd party to help with implementation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Completely replaced our accounting software, inventory management, and even added the options for manufacturing, CRM, ecommerce, any many others.

Affordability. We needed to start out small handling "simple" inventory management tasks without the gigantic cost of implementing a much larger system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Some features are not intuitive and require a bit more development. For example, I generate manufacturing jobs with a set amount of initial ingredients. However, the result of that job can vary and so I need to modify the finished amount as I'm closing out the MO. When I do that, it automatically updates the original component quantities even though they haven't changed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Implemented with local server, with static IP service, it was quite reliable and secured mechanism, Purchasing control, Finance control and reporting, Manufacturing and related supply chain, switched and performed advanced planning and optimization with external application, so odd helped to get data in required specific format, then recording of that transactions in specific format. Overall very sophisticated to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
