## Azure Boards Reviews
 ### 1. Excellent Agile Tracking and Integration Across the Azure Ecosystem

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gautami S. | Cloud Services & Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Azure Boards?**

Azure Boards is excellent if you’re working with tools within the Azure ecosystem like Azure, .NET, etc. For other cases, feel free to go for JIRA. Talking about Boards, it is designed for Agile teams. We can track Epics, features, tasks, bugs, user stories, backlogs well. There is excellent integration with Azure Repos and Pipelines as well - something that will greatly benefit any development team. The AI is still in beta, it is evolving, but I am confident it would do wonders when more AI features roll out.

**What do you dislike about Azure Boards?**

No specific dislikes. Although, for a new user it would seem overwhelming, but once you get used to it, you would be thankful for the ocean of features.

**What problems is Azure Boards solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Excellent project tracking tool. There’s complete traceability of features being built - requirement analysis, breaking user stories in tasks, assigning ownership and linking code commits and deployments. Teams can regularly track progress with this.

 ### 2. Azure Boards Keeps Our Development Work Organized and On Track

**What do you like best about Azure Boards?**

Azure Boards helps keep development my work organized. I like how we can track user stories, bugs, and tasks in one place and connect them with our development workflow. The sprint boards and backlog make it easy to see what the team is working on and what is coming next.

**What do you dislike about Azure Boards?**

Some workflows and customizations are not very obvious and take time to understand.

**What problems is Azure Boards solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps our team manage tasks, bugs, and user stories in a clear way during development. Instead of tracking work manually or in different tools, everything is visible in one place

 ### 3. Azure Boards Keeps Production Workflows Visible, Aligned, and Auditable

The team uses Azure Boards to centrally track project progress and log key production activities across print, mail, and eBilling workflows. It provides clear visibility into job status, captures approvals and exceptions, and creates a concise audit trail that keeps work moving and teams aligned.

**What do you dislike about Azure Boards?**

It can become cluttered if work items aren’t consistently updated.

Relies on user discipline—value drops quickly if activity logging is inconsistent.

**What problems is Azure Boards solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is used to log and track all job activity and changes in accordance with our security policy. It provides a controlled, time‑stamped record of work, approvals, and status changes, while giving the team clear visibility into job progress.

 ### 4. Efficient tool for agile project tracking and collaboration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abhishek S. | Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Azure Boards?**

Azure Boards offers a strong platform for managing agile projects, featuring tools such as backlogs, sprints, and Kanban boards. Its seamless integration with Azure DevOps simplifies tracking work items, linking them to commits, and maintaining comprehensive visibility throughout the project. The customizable dashboards, along with advanced filtering and reporting options, help teams remain organized and focused. Additionally, its real-time collaboration capabilities enhance communication among developers, testers, and stakeholders.

**What do you dislike about Azure Boards?**

The user interface can at times feel overwhelming for newcomers, particularly when navigating across several boards and queries. While the ability to customize workflows is a strong feature, it can also be quite complex and may demand extra time to learn. I have noticed that performance tends to slow down a bit when managing large projects with a high volume of work items. It would also be beneficial to have more built-in reporting templates available for quicker insights.

**What problems is Azure Boards solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Azure Boards helps us track tasks, user stories, and bugs in one place, making project management more organized. It improves sprint planning, team collaboration, and transparency, while its integration with Azure DevOps speeds up delivery and reduces manual tracking.

 ### 19. A good Project or Project Management Tool - Azure Deveops

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raghu K. | Agile Delivery Leader, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Azure Boards?**

Being an APM member and Agile practitioner, I have been using Auzre DevOps for more than 5 years, it has transformed the way I and my team delivered initiatives of the Products as well as projects. Its seamless integration with source code management, CICD, etc. I have used Azure Develops majorly for Agile Project Management as well as CICD.
Agile Project Management - I liked the Kanban Board customization, Notifications features then trigger when a work item is changed to a state, its customization is tremendous. Kanban board styles and rules application help the team be on track with the work items that need to be delivered on time and within budget.
CICD: This is tremendous and helped my team push their code on the fly and reduce tech debts.
Analytics - This amazing feature helps generate Power BI reports and provides great insights into the scrum/kanban team's work and progress.

There is much more that I can give you about Azure DevOps which I love using in and out daily. This is a thank you note to Microsoft for building such a wonderful tool.

**What do you dislike about Azure Boards?**

Everything about Azure DevOps, I like however I still feel that they would have given something in in-column edits (or inline edits) for the work items instead of opening the work items for editing the title. If the retrospective can be much more interactive it would help us. (its a marketplace app) hope Mircorosft comes up with a few more Apps for these features in their market place.

**What problems is Azure Boards solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Setting up Scrum Teams as well as Kanban Teams for my organization, we have used Azure DevOps and its analytics for generating reports and metrics for leadership in the organization that helped. We have set up various templates that helped teams standardize the process the way PO/ PM use to write the stories, Features, etc. We had used Product structure for one of my Kanban team which helped them to scale up to maturity level 4 from 0.

 ### 20. More than just a CI/CD tool - All in one solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kanishk M. | Associate Consultant, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Azure Boards?**

Microsoft Azure DevOps can be used for all kinds of operations in an SDLC, from managing boards and teams to automating builds and releases for the code while maintaining their versions and the GIT integration is like a cherry on the cake which makes it a complete suit for your projects.

**What do you dislike about Azure Boards?**

To be honest, I'm working on the Azure DevOps portal for the last 2 years, and there is nothing you can dislike about it, this is the best tool available for DevOps which is a package of everything you can even think of while working.

**What problems is Azure Boards solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When working on any IT project you need to work with a team of multiple departments and you can easily manage it via Azure Boards on the same portal you can also keep your code as it has its own GIT which is Azure Repos. Building the YAML pipeline is really a tough job when it comes to customization but the classic editor has predefined tasks you can use and by the GUI you can make the CI/CD pipelines which really makes your job 10X faster than a regular DevOps engineer. Azure DevOps also provides you the facility for triggers, email notifications, and seamless integration of 3rd party services and software. This is all what you need for your DevOps.

 ### 21. Great Project Management Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sasank G. | Mendix Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Azure Boards?**

It is straightforward to manage projects with Azure boards, as we know what user stories are at which stage and to whom it is assigned so that we will have a clear idea about the project's progress.

**What do you dislike about Azure Boards?**

So, When we change the status of a story in the Taskboard or while in the board and also assign it to somebody. It doesn't automatically refresh for other user who is using it unless he refreshes it he can't see the changes made.

**What problems is Azure Boards solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were using Jira as a project management tool before. Still, as per client requirements, we moved from Jira to Azure DevOps and, Under it, specifically, Azure boards to display overviews to our stakeholders.

 ### 22. Amazing software! Made my work easy

Helps to follow the agile methodology

 ### 23. The Project Management tool you need

The collaboration within the team increaasesmtoma complete new level when using Azure DevOps.

It is quite complex from a perspective of a beginner.
Anyone who is new to this, might need some training or sime tutorials fir the ease of use.
It'll be good if there is any open tutorials from Microsoft.

**What problems is Azure Boards solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Me and my team is able to manage it with defined access levels.

 ### 25. One of best digital project management tools!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Azure Boards?**

There is a lot of features can be the best in their own areas. As I play a PM role in my job, the best thing of Azure DevOps to me is that it provides me full features for digital project management, from discovery to deployment. So in short, the best thing is that it has all the things a PM need in a single tool and I don't have to use separate tools/systems in finishing my job.

**What do you dislike about Azure Boards?**

I guess it's the comment field text editor, not really a dislike item, but if they can enhance the feature, that will be ideal! I always have issues with copying & pasting images, it seems images can only be pasted under certain methods, and I can't drag an image directly to the editor. Apart from pasting images, the editor is actually a bit weak in terms of formatting when compared to Word.

One more thing is the attachment feature. When managing a project, there is always a lot of versions of documents, say a requirement file can go from v1 to v50. If the attachment feature can have version control, that would be great.

**What problems is Azure Boards solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There is a lot that Azure DevOps benefits us. But if I have to pick one, surely I would say it benefits us mainly bridging project team with IT development team. Traditionally, the transparency to each team is quite limited. IT development team doesn't always know what's in the pipeline until a requirement file is preseted to them. On the contrary, project team doesn't always see what's happening on IT team. DevOps now enable the transparency which allow us to make better project arrangement and move thing in a faster ways.

We get everything we need for a scrum in one place, like backlog, sprint, delivery plans, retrospective, wiki documentation, team calendar, planning poker, dependency tracker etc. and easily accessible with a single go and in a smooth and easy portal.

**What do you dislike about Azure Boards?**

In a backlog view, we can see all the stories consolidated way. I would like to have the stories split into individual iterations that are currently missing and can be a great add-on if made.

**What problems is Azure Boards solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a product manager, a scrum is very importing; story creation, follow-ups and finishing tasks are the leading chains of the event. In this process, Microsoft Azure DevOps was one of the top contributors and problem solvers for me regarding scrum completion and story iteration.

**Reviewed by:** Pavan P. | DevOps Admin, Health, Wellness and Fitness, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Azure Boards?**

Azure DevOps Projects is User-friendly, and it is available with minimal investment. We can easily setup the Dashboard Controls and Continuous Integration along with the Deployment (CI/CD) configurations.

**What do you dislike about Azure Boards?**

Support from Microsoft is cost effective, and retriving unnexpectedly deleted projects is typicle until unles optinng the backup policies. We can't avoid Developers writing insecure or unwanted code check-ins (There is no securitscan optiony or Vunerability). And, one more wors this i, there is no option to manage the Centralized variable configurations for allcollection" projects, we have to configure each and every project. Not available PAT token long validity. and, TFVC to GIT Migrations (too big procedure to migrate the projects from TFVC to GIT).

**What problems is Azure Boards solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Azur DevOps projects help minimal H/W and S/W resources; through these services, we can give access permissions to anywhere in the world, and the CI/CD process is easily configurable. And its multi-level platform availability, like .NET, .Net Core, Java, PHP, Node, Python functionality, along with the controlling, is fantastic.
