I played with Otter.ai for about 10 hours, knew it would work for all my needs and many of my wants, purchased it at an educator's discount (thank you) and immediately put it to work. Customer support has not been used, except for approval of educator status to receive the discount, because Otter.ai is very self-explanatory and has a seamless site that leads you to what you need or want. In fact, I use Otter.ai as an evaluation tool of my week/production. Otter.ai keeps me focused on my goals, gives me meeting summaries as well as weekly reports, and insights as to what is coming up in the near future. **What do you dislike about Otter.ai?** The only limiting aspect of OtterPilot is a result of a very small portion of society not "Embracing the Bot", not Otter.ai specifically but general A.I.'s joining video chats. When I am in meetings, I can have Otter read back all of the main points of discussion in real time and give me high-level breakdowns and full action item lists with assignees. It also is great because if I have conflicting meetings, I can send Otter into one and have it take notes for me and give me the overview, letting me know if I was mentioned or if there is anything I need to follow up on. It has become so critical to my day-to-day that we have implemented it across the board of the executive support team to replace Firefly due to the easy setup, AI features, note capturing, and ability to add team members and assign directly in the notes. It takes about 5 minutes to set up and get integrated into your calendars and OS and the rest is history. I wish I could comment on their customer support but their FAQs more than take care of anything I needed to know. This review was provided as part of a promotion from Otter but would still recommend 100/100 for this product. **What do you dislike about Otter.ai?** There is no downside I have found with Otter. It gives us the tools to look back, provide context, and keep track of every piece of a discussion that can be missed with humans alone. It also solves the problem of losing focus in meetings. This was not the norm back then- even better that it came with a few free hours a month for transcriptions. They have since blown up in functionalities, quality and accuracy (with many possible integrations and apps). I still use the free version for occasional interview transcriptions- and follow their newsletter avidly. Right now, it doesnt make sense for me because I dont have a course, webinar or a lot to transcribe, but their "transcribe and automatically record a webinar" function (Otterpilot) is gold for coaches and consultants who want to create recurring events to play on autopilot, or capture their audience's data or problems in more depth (aka chat conversations, which are often very revealing, and in-depth). **What do you dislike about Otter.ai?** I think the software is great, but for my size right now, it makes no sense to buy. **What problems is Otter.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?** I transcribe occasional interviews with the basic otter plan. ### 20. Mostly I'd been using Teams for conducting interview and that tool has live captioning. I needed to use Otter for a recording mat outside of Teams that needed to be transcribed. Otter did a great job trascribing the audio and labeling when there was more than one speaker. Any time the speaker changed, it would label who was talking. Once transcribed, the tool allowed you to edit before downloading the text. I edited a few technical terms before outputing the text. The tool has other capibilities like summarizing, but I didn't try it out. Overall, it was easy to use. **What do you dislike about Otter.ai?** Recently my team had conducted interviews in Vietnamese via human interpreter. We have an audio recording in language for which we would like English equivalent transcription. It is easy to use and automatically starts recording and transcribing the meeting once it begins. The summaries are great as well. That means if you're using it in your office, it may record and transcribe sensitive conversations, private HR matters or highly confidential information without you realizing it. The big problem is there's no way to edit that out afterwards once you've realized you've accidentally left it on. They have no capability to edit the audio afterwards, cut out sensitive parts, etc. Also, if you invite Otter to your Zoom, Teams, or Meet calls it is very obtrusive. It appears on everyone's screen as a participant. Most people are wary of AI so this can really negatively affect the mood of the meeting. Overall, I wouldn't recommend anyone using Otter AI for customer calls. **What problems is Otter.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?** Transcribe meetings with customers and prospects, and make it easier to record summaries of calls in HubSpot, record and track action items, and send meeting summaries to participants. ### 47.
