This application was able to do it with ease and perfect accuracy. I also like that it separates the transcription based on how many speakers there are so it’s not all compiled into one paragraph and that makes it easier to read with a conversational flow. Overall, I enjoyed using it and I would use it again **What do you dislike about Otter.ai?** There’s not much that I disliked about it. Maybe if they can increase there maximum video time limit from 30 mins then that would help. This is still too short for students at the university level. Early on I used it to transcribe tarot readings for clients so I could share PDF versions with them and audio versions. It was always a nice touch to be able to share something they could take away from the reading. Now, I use it for getting my ideas for writing out into the world more quickly. Upload mp3/wave files for transcription and summary. Real time text transcription during meetings or webinars. I like the Screen Capture feature of the AI Meeting Joiner, it is great for webinars. I use otter 5 days a week 2-4 hours a day. I can copy summaries to email and use for work and other projects. **What do you dislike about Otter.ai?** The user interface is a bit basic and I can't automate emails from summaries. AI meeting Joiner is not welcome in many of meetings and webinars. Internet must be good, no standalone recording now-transcribe later capability. Support can be a bit slow and give standard answers, no communication on changes to system. Find changes while using product, no heads up or blog to subscribe. The way it breaks down a call & the different templates it provides are very helpful and save me so much time in my day-to-day activities, allowing me to be more present on the call versus always taking notes. **What do you dislike about Otter.ai?** Sometimes Otter drops on calls or shows up late, which can be frustrating or disrupting to the conversation if it keeps on joining/dropping. Catches spoken content better than my ears in calls, even when where several people are talking. I also use it to record some of my own notes. It can also produce a summary of the calls. It's easy to use as well. **What do you dislike about Otter.ai?** Sometimes it struggles with some of the British accents and doesn't recognise company specific expressions or abbreviations even if I add them to the vocabulary. The "Set It and Forget It" Assistant: The OtterPilot feature that automatically joins my calendar meetings is a huge convenience. I don't have to remember to hit record. I also have the option to record manually, if I choose it so. Instant Meeting Recaps: The AI-generated summary and action items that arrive after the meeting are incredibly useful for quick follow-ups without needing to read the entire transcript. Creating a Searchable Memory: Every meeting becomes a searchable database. I can instantly find key decisions or technical details from weeks ago just by typing a keyword. **What do you dislike about Otter.ai?** It's not a perfect solution. While the transcription accuracy is impressive, it can stumble, especially with company-specific acronyms, complex technical jargon, or colleagues with strong accents. I always spend a few minutes after a critical meeting to scan the transcript and make minor corrections, where it is required. Also, the AI summary, while a great starting point, can sometimes miss the nuance of a discussion or pull out a less-than-critical point. Otter's real-time transcription means I can focus on the discussion, ask better questions, and engage with my team without my head buried in a notepad. The OtterPilot feature, which automatically joins my scheduled Zoom or Teams meetings, is brilliant. I don't even have to think about it; it's just there, creating a searchable record of everything said. Being able to quickly search a transcript for a specific technical detail or decision that was made weeks ago is an absolute game-changer for project continuity. I was amazed at how well it worked even with people with accents: Boston accents, southern drawls (even Texas style), New York accents, Minnesota -you bet, even handles California valley speak). Everything else is meaningless if it can't do its primary function which is to transcribe speech. **What do you dislike about Otter.ai?** It needs work on its workflow integration with other tools. Although it does integrate with Zoom, the workflow is kind of weird. I would think that it would be more automatic to get to a "movie" of who is speaking and the screen being shared with the transcript on the screen at the same time. Maybe I'm just kind of dense and just don't get it. The native Otter website interface needs some polish and could stand with being able to be integrated with other authentication schemes better rather than having folks having to reinvent the wheel and create new groups for distribution control. But all of this is trivial in light of the main event which is the excellent transcription and identification of who is speaking. **What problems is Otter.ai solving and how is that benefiting you?** More efficient use of time and better focus at meetings. That alone has made it worth it.
