I primarily use SailPoint for internal access management, especially during the onboarding process for new team members. Our Development team requires access to a specific set of applications and resources, and SailPoint efficiently manages the entire provisioning process. Compared to traditional request methods such as JIRA or IT helpdesk tickets, SailPoint’s integration offers a more streamlined, transparent, and efficient approach to managing application access and user permissions. The process of manually reviewing and tracking who has access to which resources can feel outdated and complicated for managers. What should be a straightforward task can become unnecessarily time-consuming and difficult to manage. While SailPoint offers extensive customization capabilities through custom coding, this flexibility can sometimes introduce challenges. Excessive customization may create complications during future upgrades, as custom code can become incompatible with newer versions, resulting in additional maintenance efforts and unexpected workload. I can quickly submit requests for applications or permissions, whether they are needed for myself or for multiple team members at the same time. One of the features I value most is the simplicity and transparency of the workflow.
