CSuite makes routine tasks like fund statements, processing grants, etc. exceptionally easy and streamlined.

**What do you dislike about CommunitySuite?**

Some CRM features could be added - more features for tracking touch points

**What problems is CommunitySuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We run our entire foundation via CSuite. It has made our daily donor and financial operations much easier.

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2025

user friendly, easy to contact support and get answers quickly

**What do you dislike about CommunitySuite?**

There isn't anything that I dislike. I am still learning

**What problems is CommunitySuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Looking to build the non profit directory. Excited about the updates to campaigns.

  ### 3. New to Csuite and loving it

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jaycee K. | Development Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2025

**What do you like best about CommunitySuite?**

I am really enjoying finding optimizations that make my job easier, and that Csuite is rather user friendly after some basics training to begin. I’m new to Foundant and I’m really liking it!

**What do you dislike about CommunitySuite?**

Things are not always easy to find, but are pretty intuitive once you find them.

**What problems is CommunitySuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Able to collect data efficiently and accurately.

  ### 4. Foundant Is A Key Part of our Operations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan P. | Executive Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2024

**What do you like best about CommunitySuite?**

Coming from a "quaint" operation working on QuickBooks, Foundant has truly revolutionized all aspects of our operations. We are a better and stronger organization thanks our Foundant partnership. The product is rebost, responsive to user feedback, and has a deep understanding of our industry. The Foundant team does a great job of communicating product updates and responding to my support questions. I've been very pleased with all aspects of my Foundant experience.

**What do you dislike about CommunitySuite?**

Don't expect Foundant to be a stale, never changing ERP. The team is constantly expanding and adding features. This is a great feature - but it can bother users who want to learn a single way to complete operations without ever changing thier process.

**What problems is CommunitySuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A robost, cloud-based system has allowed all members of our team to stay current with donor information. We had staff were were intemidated by Quick Books. Foundant is intuitive with its features and navigation.

  ### 5. This software is easy to use and keeps improving

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul T. | VP of Finance, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2024

**What do you like best about CommunitySuite?**

I was not here when our organization switched from FIMS to CSuite but I can tell that there has been so many improvements even in the last few years which has been great and shows the dedication to the product. It's hard to make everybody happy but it's clear Foundant tries to do so with every release! The software is easy to use which is critical given how frequently our staff is in the system for all of the modules. Overall it's been great getting to learn this software and get up to speed on how to do important parts of my job because of it!

**What do you dislike about CommunitySuite?**

I think CSuite has improved over time their communication about releases and which ones are directly released to the live site vs the sandbox, but this was something that could result in troubles. Of course I would love for more features to be released quicker, but that's not realistic and there are a lot of people to consider when implementing a new feature so it's understandable that these things take time.

**What problems is CommunitySuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work in Finance and the reporting is pretty easy to use. I am in most modules at some point or another in my day to day so to be able to pull information easily has been such a timesaver.

  ### 6. Really helps our foundation’s productivity, but is limited in the area I work (donor engagement).

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2025

**What do you like best about CommunitySuite?**

The system works incredibly well for finances and fund management. The staff are incredibly responsive and helpful.

**What do you dislike about CommunitySuite?**

It is lacking in CRM tools and integrations, an area I work in.

**What problems is CommunitySuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking donors financial engagement and fund use.

  ### 7. Like it and excited to learn more

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2025

**What do you like best about CommunitySuite?**

I like that all of our AP and AR, scholarships, grants, etc are housed in one place.

**What do you dislike about CommunitySuite?**

Some functionality we would like just doesn’t exist

**What problems is CommunitySuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Everything is in one place so it’s only one thing to train people on.

  ### 8. Game Changer!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Susie L. | VP Operations and Donor Services, Non-Profit Organization Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2024

**What do you like best about CommunitySuite?**

We migrated from FIM to CSuite July 2022. Moving to CSuite has been a game changer for our Foundation. We are working smarter and more efficiently because of the depth of functionality CSuite provides. For instance, we have over 1,400 funds and CSuite Fund Statement functionality has made what was formerly a two-week process for producing quarterly fund statements, a 3-5 day process - all done by one staff person. Other processes that work so well and easily in Csuite compared to how they worked in FIMS are investment earnings, spending policy and admin. fees to the fund level. And I have to share that the CSuite reporting functionality is top-notch.

**What do you dislike about CommunitySuite?**

There truly is nothing that I dislike about CommunitySuite.

**What problems is CommunitySuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CommunitySuite is always making improvements to its platform based off of user inout in their Idea Lab.

  ### 9. Valuable tool for granting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Isabella C. | Database Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2024

**What do you like best about CommunitySuite?**

I really enjoy the ability to streamline our grant process. There is a variety of tools that's will support not only your granting but as well as your funds. My favorite tools are reporting which allow you to pull reports not only on granting but really any aspect of the website. You can pull grants really from any data. I also love being able to create grants on csuite, you can bulk process them and code them. This saves a lot of time.

**What do you dislike about CommunitySuite?**

There are many improvements being made to integration and this is where I had my most feedback but all of the feedback gets quickly addressed and implemented.

**What problems is CommunitySuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are solving integration issues. I now don't have to manually update every profile. It will do it for me live. Also saves times for other staff

  ### 10. Strong community foundation product with excellent customer service.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Meghan W. | Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2024

**What do you like best about CommunitySuite?**

Foundant has strong, relevant products for community foundations. It is focused on keeping its products up to date and has excellent customer service.

**What do you dislike about CommunitySuite?**

CommunitySuite has a different approach to profiles than what we used in our previous system. Migrating to their approach took a significant effort but they have several tools to make the transition easy.

**What problems is CommunitySuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CommunitySuite keeps all of our information and transactions in one place. It is the single source of information for our operations.

  ### 11. C-Suite is easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2024

**What do you like best about CommunitySuite?**

C- Suite has been a great solution to meet our accounting and CRM needs! The integration with GLM and SLM modules have made our operations so much more efficient. The software is very user-friendly and always improving in response to customer requests.

**What do you dislike about CommunitySuite?**

The regular software updates can be a challenge to keep up with sometimes. It's totally worth it in the long run since the updates almost always make the work easier.

**What problems is CommunitySuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Community Suite integrates our accounting and CRM making it much easier to serve our donors efficiently. Our donors like the ease of use of the donor portal as well.

  ### 12. Great Customer Service and Always Improving

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Philanthropy | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2024

**What do you like best about CommunitySuite?**

CSuite is helpful to track information and data needed to work with our donors, and fund advisors. It has a lot of reporting capabilities, fund management aspects, and a fund advisor portal that is always being improved upon. Compared to our old database this is a lot more efficient. We also process our donor-advised funds grants through CSuite and have found it effective this way.

**What do you dislike about CommunitySuite?**

I dislike the user experience for fund advisors at times within the portal. It would be nice to bulk edit grant dates as well, or bulk atatch items.

**What problems is CommunitySuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is able to provide fund management aspects we used to house outside of our database. It also offers a way for staff to access historical records and use alerts to capture needed information.

  ### 13. Great customer service!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hailey C. | Program Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 08, 2024

**What do you like best about CommunitySuite?**

I was not at the Foundation before we adopted Foundant products- but I can't imagine how labor-intensive everything was without it. I come from a 16+ year background in education, and I never worked with a software company that was as helpful and responsive as Foundant.

**What do you dislike about CommunitySuite?**

There's nothing I dislike about CommunitySuite.

**What problems is CommunitySuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CommunitySuite integrates seamlessly with Foundant's GLM & SLM products. The integration has streamlined our processes and reduced the amount of time spent entering data, which frees up time to work with our nonprofits and donors.

  ### 14. As the Accountant/controller of Software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tina d. | Director of Finance an Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2024

**What do you like best about CommunitySuite?**

ease of use, especialy the back end has been very helpful. Looking forward to learning more of the front end, and reporting functions, and being more intentional with information we gather.

**What do you dislike about CommunitySuite?**

Haven't come across any yet. Most issues that I have run into have been able to be resolved through either help screens, or through a help ticket

**What problems is CommunitySuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

More intentional reporting, as we expand to track better

  ### 15. My experience has been great!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** LaKeena F. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2024

**What do you like best about CommunitySuite?**

Resources are always available if your are having trouble navigating the system. I like that reports are easy to obtain and customizable for your specific Foundation needs. I like that even if your aren't an expert the system can still be navigated.

**What do you dislike about CommunitySuite?**

I dislike that you can't produce mass invoices or send out multiple invoices to different people.

**What problems is CommunitySuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to customize functions based on what your specific Community Foundation needs is a plus.

  ### 16. Impressed with Foundant products and staff!

Grants management

  ### 17. So Far So Good

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2024

**What do you like best about CommunitySuite?**

It's user friendly. Second best user friendly accounting software I've use behind QuickBooks.

**What do you dislike about CommunitySuite?**

There are too many steps to process transactions.

**What problems is CommunitySuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm new to the product so I'm not sure what problem is being solved by my organization.

  ### 18. Easy to work with

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2024

**What do you like best about CommunitySuite?**

I find CommunitySuite easy to work with. I do the accounting side of things for our Foundation and for basic functions, it is easy to "follow the red" to post transactions.

**What do you dislike about CommunitySuite?**

The biggest challenge I have is reporting. Building reports is confusing to me so I usually try to find a default report that is close to what I want and export it and manipulate it for what I need.

**What problems is CommunitySuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I believe I saw that they are working on reporting issues.

  ### 19. Comprehensive without complexity

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nancy M. B. | President/CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2024

**What do you like best about CommunitySuite?**

Foundant is very responsive to feedback and recommendations for improving its system. It is also proactive in improving the product. They are accessible via phone, virtual meetings, and email.

**What do you dislike about CommunitySuite?**

It does not have a robust relationship management module.

**What problems is CommunitySuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CommunitySuite helps keep me on task with our constituents.

  ### 20. Great for our needs!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kent E. | Program Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2024

**What do you like best about CommunitySuite?**

Great product! Combining ability to manage fund accounting with CRM is a win.

**What do you dislike about CommunitySuite?**

Integration with grant management (GLM) has a learning curve that takes some time.

**What problems is CommunitySuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The setup of the accounting for funds helps keep us using best practices instead of learning by trial and error.

  ### 21. Friend of Foundant

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2024

**What do you like best about CommunitySuite?**

Community suite allows users to efficiently enter, track, edit, and evaluate data robustly.

**What do you dislike about CommunitySuite?**

As with any technology, keeping up with current releases poses a challenge. However, C-Suite works to make users aware of what is to be expected in the future.

**What problems is CommunitySuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

C-suite provides a reliable space to help manage the complexities that come along with running a community foundation-- the support provided by the Foundant team makes it outstanding from the rest!

  ### 22. Summit ‘24

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michelle G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2024

**What do you like best about CommunitySuite?**

Customization to fit personal needs and great organization features.

**What do you dislike about CommunitySuite?**

It's complex and not intuitive at times.

**What problems is CommunitySuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organization and tracking of development

  ### 23. So much better than our last system!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2024

**What do you like best about CommunitySuite?**

We just migrated from Stellar/Ren's iPhi in the last year, and my two favorite things about Foundant's CSuite are: The Universal Search function!!! It is a GAME CHANGER! Saves us so much time! The reporting capabilities with Foundant are also exponentially better!

**What do you dislike about CommunitySuite?**

I wish there was capabilities for more cross-reporting across different system functions.

**What problems is CommunitySuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helped us level-up events & campaigns.

  ### 24. Work in Progress

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robby B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2023

**What do you like best about CommunitySuite?**

It is an all-in-one solution for Community foundations that I could see helping some organizations tackle data siloing and having to use multiple systems to track the needs of finance, grantees, donors, events and marketing items as well.

Their customer support is friendly, and it seems like they are constantly updating and improving the system; it is just not there yet.

**What do you dislike about CommunitySuite?**

I think the system lacks in the ability to customize the design. I believe it is due to how Foundant has rolled out its products. They built a solution to combine their grants and scholarships management systems into a finance funds management system.

My primary pain point is that the donor management/CRM, Events (campaigns in CSuite), and Donation pages severely lack customization options. The Development portion of the software appears to be an afterthought.

Standard metric reports in most donor CRM systems, like AFP reports that will give you retention and attrition percentages, are all manual processes in CSuite. These processes can take forever to analyze.

The way Foundant set up its data table structures is unlike any system I have seen. None feed up to the primary record id, making importing and exporting into specific tables like gifts, notes, and addresses impossible. Every field has to be updated individually with multiple clicks rather than being able to edit it and import it into the system.

Also, I wouldn't say I like that they rely on system updates through feedback from users in an ideas lab. While this is a great way to get user feedback and wishes, it feels like a lack of investment in research and development on their part by not seeing what competitors offer as "out of the box" functionality. Some systems' functions should come from their end, but it feels like they are just fixing the issues that get the biggest complaints.

As other reviews said, there is pretty much no API integration or connectivity to other software like every significant competitor. You can connect to Mail Chimp for some campaigns, but that is only a one-direction API and not bi-directional (both systems can update and import changes) like every other donor system. Having only a one direction API (with just one email marketing platform) makes updating emails a nightmare.

There is no API connection for other event or donation software that could handle events like golf outings, marathons, volunteer management, and donations. They cannot connect with Wealth Screening and prospecting software, double the gift; the list goes on.

I think other systems allow for API connections because they realize that those software better design the features customers want within the system, and it saves them the money on not having to do the R&D on designing out the functionality. They only need to partner with the other company and set up the API connector.

**What problems is CommunitySuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides an all-in-one accounting, grants, and donor and fund management solution. I think this is a good solution and a time-saver for accounting, but I think it lacks in customization and functionality

  ### 25. Robust NPO Accounting Platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jesse C. | Accountant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2022

**What do you like best about CommunitySuite?**

With great simplicity we are able to allocate investment activity across our funds upon receipt of investment statements.

**What do you dislike about CommunitySuite?**

It is perfectly performing I can't complain or regret it.

**What problems is CommunitySuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing spending policies distribution.
Easy to create accurate fund statements.
View financial reports by multiple funds types.

  ### 26. CommunitySuite and Stripe handle 500+ donations in a televised appeal

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2021

**What do you like best about CommunitySuite?**

CommunitySuite leadership and customer focus. I contacted CSM's, VP's and other management a few days ahead of a first-ever (for us) televised appeal for one of our area of interest funds. I wanted to ensure that our donor portal and the Stripe platform would hold up to an onslaught of hundreds of donations during a 30-minute news broadcast, "9News/Next - A Word of Thanks".

Received repeated written assurances that not only would things work but that management and Support were standing by in case of overload.

Sure enough, we received over 400 donations that night alone, with mist covering credit card fees and hundreds more over the next ten days. A total of $19,000 was raised in small ($5-$50) donations from people in the Front Range of Colorado- 100 miles away. All the Stripe transactions and Profile creations were processed flawlessly!

**What do you dislike about CommunitySuite?**

Ned more robust features in the CRM area to handle donor stewardship.

**What problems is CommunitySuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fantastic operational financial software - need more development in CRM to match it

  ### 27. Love it.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2019

**What do you like best about CommunitySuite?**

I most like the transition between our old system to community suites. It’s been pretty easy.

**What do you dislike about CommunitySuite?**

It’s like their changing the wheels while the car is driving. So they keep updating new things but it seems it could be updated more to be utilized easier.

**What problems is CommunitySuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keep more accurate details about donors.

  ### 28. Foundant Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2018

**What do you like best about CommunitySuite?**

Foundant is very user friendly and can be easily navigated. I like being able to log on, and know exactly what stages the grants are in. Foundant's home page allows you to know where each grant is, just by looking at my home page. The support team from Foundant is phenomenal. They are available to help me with any questions I have through out the day. Their training is great too, very informative, and they make it fun!

**What do you dislike about CommunitySuite?**

Looking for an organization is kind of difficult. When I want to find a certain organization, I must search for it. there is no directory option which i think would be nice.

**Recommendations to others considering CommunitySuite:**

I would like to be able to find a saved application or organization a little easier. A directory of organizations would be good.

**What problems is CommunitySuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Foundant, I can easily keep track of our grants that the company gives out. I can go through every step of the grant through Foundant, and not have to switch to a different program. All documents, signatures needed, follow up forms, and reports can be acquired through the program. With Foundant, we are able to eliminate the time and effort it would take to call the applicant, and send out reminders. We are also to generate reports using the data from all of our grants. It's very helpful having the data all in one place, so is there's ever a question about something, we know exactly where we can find the answer.

  ### 29. Practical solution to Assess impacts from Grants

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civic & Social Organization | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2018

**What do you like best about CommunitySuite?**

I like the option of being able to insert metrics into process forms and being able to see a change in process over time.

**What do you dislike about CommunitySuite?**

I don’t think that the software is really easy to use. To create a process form, there are so many tutorials you must complete. It is unreasonable for a new organizations, a small one at that, to complete the tutorials and achieve to install the new software.

**Recommendations to others considering CommunitySuite:**

I would make the software sinplifier

**What problems is CommunitySuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were trying to add our grants portfolio to the software to centralize the information we have about our grantees
