"Smooth, Efficient Dev Workflow with Snap Layouts, WSL, Docker, and VS Code"
What do you like best about Windows 11?

What I like best about Windows 11, especially for programming, is how smooth the development experience feels. Features like better window management with Snap Layouts make it much easier to work with multiple terminals, browsers, and IDEs at the same time. I also like the improved performance and support for tools like WSL, Docker, and Visual Studio Code, which are essential for development. It feels more optimized for multitasking and helps keep my workflow organized and efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windows 11?

What I dislike most about Windows 11 is that some updates can feel disruptive, especially when you're in the middle of development work. Sometimes system updates or background processes affect performance or require unexpected restarts Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Smooth experience with a fresh look and better multitasking"
What do you like best about Windows 11?

What I like best about Windows 11 is how clean and modern everything feels. The new design is simple, and the centered taskbar makes it look less cluttered compared to older versions. It’s easier to find apps and settings, and the overall layout just feels more organized.

Another upside is better integration with tools like Microsoft Teams and OneDrive. It makes sharing files and staying connected easier, especially when working on group projects or collaborating online.

Overall, Windows 11 has improved my daily workflow by making things quicker and more organized. It didn’t take long to get used to, and I didn’t need much support or setup time. It just works well once you start using it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windows 11?

Some settings are confusing because they’re split between the new Settings and old Control Panel.

The taskbar has limited customization, which can feel restrictive.

It may have compatibility or performance issues on older devices, and updates can still be disruptive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Clean, Modern UI and Smooth Multitasking with Snap Layouts"
What do you like best about Windows 11?

Windows 11 has a clean, modern UI that feels smooth and user-friendly. I really like the centered taskbar, the improved window management with Snap Layouts, and the overall performance improvements. Multitasking feels easier because everything is more responsive, and the whole experience looks polished and visually appealing. Overall, I appreciate the clean interface, smooth performance, and improved multitasking features. Snap Layouts, better window management, and the system’s responsiveness help me stay productive during daily work, especially when I’m handling multiple applications at once. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windows 11?

Some updates can take a while to install, and certain older applications or drivers may run into compatibility issues. The hardware requirements can also be restrictive, especially on older systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Smooth Performance with Room for Update Improvement"
What do you like best about Windows 11?

I like most about Windows 11 is its different and exclusive themes. Windows 11 gives me a lot of different kinds of themes which I can use as per my convenience. Apart from that, Windows 11 has the most useful day-to-day features which anyone can use, even if they are a beginner. These features can be used very easily without any problem. I also find that the different themes and features help motivate and inspire me in my work. They elevate my mood, helping me to work more efficiently and better in any field I am working on. The themes are soothing and very comfortable to watch; they're eye-pleasing, which adds to the value of Windows 11 for me. Additionally, the initial setup of Windows 11 was quite smooth and easy for me. There were not very many steps included, and I only needed to sign in before I could fully use all the features. This made the experience quite smooth and easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windows 11?

The feature that does not work well for me in Windows 11 is the regular updates. Sometimes the updates are very frequent, which slows down the system. I think the regular updates put a lot of effort on the processor, and it slows down the system. If updates were available only once a week or twice in two weeks, it would be very helpful. "Versatile and Customizable, But Hardware Issues Persist"
What do you like best about Windows 11?

I really appreciate the versatility of Windows 11. There's little you can't do on Windows. If you need a program to connect an iPhone to a Windows PC, you could figure it out, unlike on a Mac where connecting an Android isn't straightforward. Windows 11 is customizable in just about every way, and if you find pain points, you can usually work around them without avoiding warranties, though it might mean reinstalling Windows. I also found the initial setup effortless, basically just clicking buttons. With the stellar hardware I have, the performance of Windows tends to be very good, handling video and Photoshop work well without stressing my machine. It's a highly versatile and very often supported operating system, unlike some others out there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windows 11?

I find the hardware variation with Windows to be a bit challenging. You don't really know what your Windows PC is going to be able to do. It could range from being very powerful to pretty much worthless. Unlike Apple, where any Mac you pull out of the box is at least going to be good for the average user, Windows computers require dealing with drivers and dependencies. Also, RAM optimization on Windows isn't ideal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Smooth Transition, Robust Features, Minor Hardware Hurdles"
What do you like best about Windows 11?

I find Windows 11 incredibly valuable for my engineering courses, coding in Python, and 3D modeling on software like Spaceclaim. The snap layout tool is a game changer for coding, allowing me to arrange my Python IDE, programming manuals, and mathematical proofs efficiently in one window. The native support of WSL2, or Windows Subsystem for Linux, is extremely convenient for running Python scripts in a Linux-based shell without the need for dual booting, solving the sluggishness and file system incompatibility issues I faced before. The file explorer's tabs are very useful for navigating through my engineering projects and CAD directories, making it easy to switch between them without opening different windows. The new AI and hardware compatibility capabilities are great for reducing the time needed to render images and videos. I also appreciate the modern and uncluttered design of the user interface. The initial setup was smooth and user-friendly, which allowed me to return to my work quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windows 11?

Even though the operating system is very efficient, the hardware requirements such as TPM 2.0 may be quite limiting for some students who may have relatively old but powerful laptops or computers. The customization of the start menu is also quite limiting when compared to past versions; it would be nice if the size of the pin section could be modified or the recommended part could be stripped away altogether. Moreover, although WSL2 works well, it may sometimes consume too much RAM. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Modern, Cleaner Windows 11 That Makes Multitasking Smoother"
What do you like best about Windows 11?

What stands out most about Windows 11 is how it balances a modern feel with everyday usability.

The interface is cleaner and more focused compared to older versions, centered taskbar, rounded corners, and a calmer visual design that actually makes long usage less tiring. It’s not just cosmetic either; features like Snap Layouts make multitasking genuinely smoother, especially when you’re juggling coding, browsing, and notes at the same time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windows 11?

A few things about Windows 11 can get frustrating once you use it daily.

The biggest one is how restrictive some UI changes feel. The taskbar is less flexible than before , you can’t easily move it or customize it the way you could in older versions. It looks clean, but you lose a bit of control. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"My Multitasking Workflow"
What do you like best about Windows 11?

I like the improved multitasking features the most. Snap Layouts make it easy to organize my CRM, email, and student files side by side, which keeps my admissions workflow fast and efficient. For example, I use multi-view when I need to keep a report open while working through an admissions workflow in our CRM (VIAS). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windows 11?

Windows 11 pushes frequent updates, and they sometimes interrupt work or require restarts at inconvenient times. They do have options on setting times but a lot of times it seems to forget the update window or it will encourage you to update it towards the end of the day instead of updating overnight/later hours. "Excellent Software Support at the Cost of System Control"
What do you like best about Windows 11?

The best part of Windows 11 is the polished UI and the Snap Layouts feature, which makes organizing multiple windows very easy. I also appreciate the universal hardware support; I never have to worry if a printer or a new webcam will work. The integration with the broader ecosystem of professional apps is also a major plus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Windows 11?

My primary pain point is the heavy system resource usage and background telemetry, which negatively impacts overall performance compared to a lean system like Debian. From a UX perspective, the presence of pre-installed bloatware and ads in the Start menu feels intrusive and lowers the professional ROI of the OS. Furthermore, the lack of granular control over forced updates disrupt my daily workflow, and I believe the onboarding process would be much improved if Microsoft offered a more minimal installation option that respects user privacy and allows for greater system autonomy.
