"Not your typical HRIS."

What do you like best?

Having used most of the major HRISs out there, Workday is one of the top 3 for a simple reason. It has the best integration for moving from module to module. My standard is getting to where I want to go in 3 clicks or less. In most cases, I can accomplish a move in one or two clicks.

The system is fairly intuitive...there are few non-intuitive/illogical "wrinkles" that take nearly a Drunkard's walk to figure out

What do you dislike?

As noted, there are non-intuitive "hidey-holes" for some information. Once one figures out where the spider hole is all is good. For a system as complex and, for the most part, very logical from a UX perspective, these one-off situations happen frequently enough to be sorta maddening.

The linking to our Talent Acquisition Suite (JobVite) is really KLUDGY. It's just not that there is a lag time issue. There have been a number of occurrences where data just did NOT transfer.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

1. Consult and coordinate with your ENTIRE HCM team--Talent Acquisition, Benefits, Training, HRPB, Comp--every unit under the HCM umbrella.

2. Ensure that the competing HCM products have a complete suite of APIs for Finance, Production, Materials Management, and Sales/Marketing.

These are two major problems with most HCM systems. Know this from personal experience.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Working as a Sr. Technical Recruiter, Workday helps with understanding where in the organization the position fits, potential growth patterns for a candidate, req and offer approval sign-off strings.

"Workday Review"

What do you like best?

Dynamic Organisation Chart which can iterate the entire organisation on a scroll of your mouse. Workday has a decent look and multiple nice component required for employee information management. Display the employee profile very well manner which contains all crucial information related to an employee. Every links on a page redirects you to the relevant section for detailed information. Searching a colleague is quiet easy using email id or the employee ID. Workday has configurable components depending upon individual requirement to display them on the dashboard.

What do you dislike?

Reports are not instant and needs some time to generate in pdf format in background. PDF Reports generated formats could be more solid.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Workday is an excellent tool and I love using workday on the go using my mobile phone anytime.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Handles Employee and HR related activities. Workday is a proficient tool to cater all your HR related tasks. Web based application and easily accessible over mobile devices.

"Review of Workday HCM"

What do you like best?

I recently changed employment and started using Workday at my new place of work, I have immensely enjoyed the software so far and some of the major high points for me are-

(1) it is a cloud based system, so I can access it from every device that I own.

(2) The reporting format is superb and available in different format.

(3) The interface is easy to Navigate

(4) Without knowing what steps to take for a task, you can easily search and find out.

(5) I can easily get contact details of anyone I want to search.

What do you dislike?

While I have greatly enjoyed this software, these are some of the drawbacks:

(1) The verification type of always getting a call before I log on.

(2) The system never seems to remember password, so I have to retype it every time I want to log on.

(3) The universal deployment of the software, makes certain steps that are not relevant or applicable in regional market open to employees who normally should not have this access.

(4) The software can experience slow speed especially with poor internet.

(5) Absence of Payroll Feature.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

The software is very useful especially if the implementation was done correctly, whatever organization deploys it would enjoy it. I find the ease of usage very very good especially in comparism to other softwares that aim to achieve similar result.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Employee leave issues.

Total employee life cycle management.

"Have the freedom to view and control your information."

What do you like best?

I love that workday allows me to view everything I need from what are my benefits to clocking in and out. I make everything so organized and easy to use all under one log in. And you can use the app on your phone for on the go!

What do you dislike?

I've never had a problem using workday. It has always done what I need it to do. At one point it looked as though it didn't submit my benefits correctly but that was a mistake. Everything has always ran smoothly.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Download the app! You never know when it will come in handy.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

If I want to check my insurance information, I can always do so right away with all the short cuts Workday provides. It also allows me to clock in and out of work from my phone, as easy as pressing a button if you're in a rush! It also really helps with how big the company I work for is. To just have everyone using the same thing, no issues!

"Workday Review"

What do you like best?

Personalized welcome screen with individual user interface widgets allowing for Announcements and applications. For example, welcoming and on boarding task management plus allowing the editing of personal information. Also, the addition of a favorites option.

What do you dislike?

Login screen a little clunky., Also, when editing in forms e.g. adding a contact in personal info, the method in which it auto selects a country and then asks you to complete a form with mandatory fields is a little too awkward. The layout and fields / fields selections can be confusing - leading to duplication of work and constant error messages advisng to fill in fields that aren ot clearly labelled or marked.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Worth considering when looking at on boarding and management of employee objectives. Also, empowers employees to be in control of their personal info at all times. Easily accessible via the cloud which is fantastic.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Primarily on boarding people as new employees and gathering personal info for OHS. Keeping all info in one area related to employees to assist in their personal development and safety whilst in the employment of the firm.

"User Friendly and Intuitive "

What do you like best?

The thing I like best about suing workday is that it is very simple. From onboarding to viewing monthly pay statements, workday is easy for the user to navigate. Additionally, when it come time to report income on your tax returns, it is easy to view your w-2 and other tax forms.

What do you dislike?

One thing i dislike about workday is that it was sometimes hard to find if i had completed specific inbox items and onboarding requirements in my system. Additionally, i felt when onboarding the forms I was spending time to fill out were somewhat repetitive. Lastly, workday is a new system for us so i had some trouble when getting support for the system internally.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I recommend workday over other onboarding and payroll management systems.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The business problem being solved is that of onboarding, payroll services, and management of employees and HR systems throughout the organization.

"Ideal and complete human resources platform"

What do you like best?

What is most striking at first, is that it has a lot of features.

Within this range of features we must highlight the facilities it generates, for example, to request free days, it is done almost automatically.

On the other hand, in terms of payroll and salary management, it is quite simple to manage them, since it also has elements that facilitate such management.

What do you dislike?

One thing that would improve this software are its applications for IOS and Android, since I think they are somewhat limited, since there are certain options that can not be seen through them, such as editing personal information.

In addition to this, perhaps this software to have such a number of options is somewhat complex to handle at first.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I recommend Workday to any company that wants to manage more efficiently the area of human resources in general: payment system, days off, employee information, employee requests ... But yes, it must be taken into account that it is somewhat difficult to learn its functioning, although then it is really worth that time of learning.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Although it takes a while to know how the whole program works, once you configure what you get is a human resources software that automates and facilitates the management of this area.

It has allowed us to integrate payment management, benefits, compensation, staff reports into a single program. In short, it is a tool that allows the organization of the human resources area to be much more complete.

"Manage and Organize Everything with Workday!"

What do you like best?

The coolest part about workday is that it puts everything together. Your employment information, payroll, benefits, work hours, etc. Users can easily track their payments and benefit enrollment.

It is also a great environment for administrators to contact with employers, give them notices, assign tasks, and send or request documents.

On top of all these features, it is great to have your goals set and analyze your performance towards achieving those goals.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes when you are assigned a task (for example filling out a form to update your information), when you complete the form and submit it, it will be referred to your supervisor and you will not be able to edit your entries before it is revised by administrator and sent back to you for review which my take some time.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you are administrating an organization, Workday is the best choice for you to manage your workforce, their performance, benefits, and expenses efficiently.

If you are a user you are lucky if your organization is using Workday system to make your life easier!

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It is the best platform to manage your workforce especially for huge organizations. It is a comprehensive system that is well organized and enables administers to manage all aspects of their workforce.

"Workday Experience"

What do you like best?

- Ease of use

- Simplicity in the icons and what they are for

- How it streamlines with workflow

- If demographic information is available (such as DOB) it is very easy to find an employee or non-employee within the company. Or if the name is unique enough

What do you dislike?

- I don't like how the search feature times out; it would be helpful if workday was able to pull up all results even if the name is very common

- The workday inbox can be become cluttered very easily

Recommendations to others considering the product:

No recommendations - it is very easy to use

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

- On-boarding effort to bring on non-employees : it is a mostly simple process to create job requisitions and on-board non-employees

- Paid bonuses and rewards to employees : this was also an easy to use process that was very straightforward

"Workday has enabled HR to move to the cloud"

What do you like best?

Workday has made time tracking simple, requesting time off is a breeze and the ability to see accrued time off is hard to beat. It's like an automated HR department to a certain degree. From an hourly employee's perspective, you can also make changes to filing status and payroll elections on the fly. The ability to deposit portions of my check into various accounts makes saving money easy and the changes go into affect immediately; no two-week waiting period like most companies typically require.

What do you dislike?

Paystubs do not show all information and requesting a PDF copy to download still does not display all information. The only way to view all lines of a paystub is to view it on their website in dynamic tables. Their apps for Android and iOS are slow to navigate (some lag) and lack many features of the website (the ability to change payment elections and filing status as well as editing some personal information cannot be done in the apps).

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It's web based and has mobile apps for both Android and iOS. It also integrates well with my companies Single Sign On feature which gives an extra layer of security and control to the company utilizing the software.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Performance management, time tracking, payroll, benefits. It's far easier using Workday than it would be to bother the folks in HR all the time.

"Workday HCM for Salespeople"

What do you like best?

Workday is a great place to keep a lot of important information, links, and resources all in one area. I love that I can log my time off, view insurance information, and also apply for internal positions all in one place!

What do you dislike?

There is nothing specific that I dislike about Workday. I think it would be helpful for more insight on what each widget does - as there are several that I never use but might find a benefit from (however, their purpose seems confusing to me).

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Workday benefits my day-to-day because it is a simple portal that holds a lot of information that I need for time off, benefits, pay, etc. I think it solves the business problem of having all of these important links in completely different places, thus confusing the employees.

"Workday a complete HR portal"

What do you like best?

Workday has a consolidated look and feel of excellent HR tool. It has many easily accessible features like employee directory and organization chart. Notifications and declaration pandels are nice for dynamic updates on dashboard. Raising a time off request is easier. You have ability to export any information in a report in pfd format. As Workday tag line, it is really made for next generation.

What do you dislike?

Reporting is not instant and needs to run in background. Workday does not always display the webpage similar across different devices.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Very nice tool which you start liking from the first day.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

You are complete used to of workday once you start using it. It hs excellent display and navigation. There are som many features you like in workday.

"So Far So Good"

What do you like best?

Workday has an incredibly amount of features, so much so, that it can be quite intimidating at times. However, do not fret, once you figure out exactly what you are looking for, the processes become quite intuitive.

What do you dislike?

As listed above, WorkDay has so many features that it can be overwhelming, for people timid by technology it may not be incredibly "user" friendly. Don't be afraid to play around, there are also multiple ways to complete the same action which can be useful.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you want something with a lot of features and customization to bring your processes to one place this is the product for you. If you struggle with technical programs, this may take some time for you to adjust to. It makes it much easier to work as a cohesive unit (organization) and we are excited to see how easily information can be shared and eliminate a lot of the manual reporting that currently exists within the organization. Take time to consider what features your organization has and needs, it would be nice to add in the ATS to have applicants in from start to finish but maybe in due time. Ultimately, a great program with great customer service.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

WorkDay is allowing us the opportunity to integrate all of our HR systems from manual to automatic processes. It was a bit of a challenge integrating and adding in all of the pieces but will be easier in the long run.

"Not the best hr system"

What do you like best?

The design is really simple, not bulky, and presume to be user friendly. My organization upgraded to this system. Prior to this, we had to access multiple systems such as job applications, pay roll, performance management, benefit enrollment and management. Now, everything is in one place.

What do you dislike?

1) Job application process doesn't allow posting until a person who has given notices actually vacates the roll.

2) internal candidates (which may be the way my organization has set up the system) must log in to view job opportunities. I feel that this may need to monitoring/tracking that I would rather not have employer know about

3) The time off feature is confusing. It took me a while to figure out how to cancel a request. You have to go to the physical calendar and a click the request. The separate queue with request history doesn't allow you to cancel from there. That's very frustrating.

4) Each time you review/edit benefits you must re-confirm all benefits, instead of one specific section.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

My organization is able to integrate multiple systems such as job applications, pay roll, performance management, benefit enrollment and management into one place.

"Secure and User friendly"

What do you like best?

It is very user friendly and easy to request time off, it does a good job tracking time off, and tracking PTO balances. It does a good job managing the performance review process.

What do you dislike?

It terms of accounting it is not versatile enough to track our time by subsidiary and project. We are still forced to use paper time sheets, despite paying for a very expensive product

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It is very good system, but still has it quarks, so be cautious and do your due diligence during implementation. Kinda Expensive

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Prior we had many HR systems tracking several of our HR functions, these programs did not talk to each out, so there was a lot of manual entry, time wasted.

"Excellent HR tool"

What do you like best?

Workday is one place for all HR related tasks in a organisation. It has several modules like Time off, Goal Settings, Performance management Time Entry etc. Displays all Employee related data at one place and all these fields are configurable. Workday has rich UI and navigation from one to other is quiet easy. Features like Get Feedback in Performance management is nice addition.

What do you dislike?

Show Process details link is not clearly visible every time and does not display the related details always.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

This is a ready made HR tool and covers wide range of activities which can be easily configured according to the organisation. Excellent tool.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

All activities related to Human resource management. This is a great automated tool to simplify the HR related tasks.

"Change was hard, but for the better!"

What do you like best?

Before we switched to Workday we were using 3-4 different softwares to track different aspects of hiring, payroll, p-card reconciliation, etc. Now we can do it all through Workday. It's great to have a "one stop shop".

What do you dislike?

There are aspects of Workday that are not user friendly. When tracking timesheets and approving, you can only have one manager. So if an employee works in multiple departments you cannot list multiple supervisors. We also tried to implement the many aspects that Workday can accomplish all at once and that seemed to make it difficult. I would suggest working on one aspect at a time.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you are willing to put in the effort to learn the software, it is definitely worth it. You can manage many aspects of your workload all in one software program. There is also a mobile version of it as well.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Time tracking is simiple. You can get all employee information easily, update or add job positions, reconciling your expenses is definitely a smoother process. The program allows you to upload your receipt before submitting, choose the G/L code, add memos. While threre is steep learning curve, it can do amazing things.

"Robust but very user friendly"

What do you like best?

The look and feel, general flow of the HR business processes. I'm sure a lot of it, is how my company has decided to use it. There are lots of easy to use quick reference guides, and how to help files. Navigation and layout of the screens are easy. You can find pretty much anything using the search.

The recognition piece, for us you can leave a thank you not, in someone's profile, add a badge to it. It really helps lay the foundation of your culture to recognize someone publicly.

The mobile app is also amazing! you can do pretty much everything from it.

What do you dislike?

You sometimes lose visibility into what's next, or where is a current process stuck. Usually it is in someone else's workday inbox. Maybe there should be some kind of trace left in your own, and being able to remind people that they have something pending that you need, would be awesome.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Give it a try! I'm sure you can do demo or trial period engagements to see the value. All of my opinions of course are more towards the user experience, and I'm not aware of how is it from an administrator point of view, or actual HR business owner. Haven't heard any complaints either.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It basically streamlines all of our HR business processes. Hiring, Goals (performance), Recognition, Compensation. For all of our timesheets to billable projects in consulting, as well as expenses, it's all integrated. Don't get to participate much in it, but Payroll is also done through here...

"Needs Updated"

What do you like best?

I like how when I'm looking for information on a certain topic, I can always find it in a timely manner. I've never had to go through and click on multiple areas to find the info I need. Everything is pretty grouped together.

What do you dislike?

I dont like the layout of the pages. Sometimes I get very confused as to where some of the external and internal links are located. And after the last update, they have completely jumbled everything.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Always check your work before submitting anything payroll or time off related. Sometimes it is very time consuming to fix

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I'm not really solving and problems, its more like I'm managing what few problems I have. Which is how I've benefited from using this program. I am able to track my personal performance, update and check my payroll each week, and manage all my time off I have/and will accumulate.

"Very good timesheet system"

What do you like best?

I like the ease of entering time worked and the time off request policies. That system works very well for my colleagues and I am able to revise entries and easily submit it to my supervisor. Sending reminders to everyone about updating info in workday is another good feature that we utilize often. It is also nice to have the quicklinks feature as it makes things easier to find in a time crunch. The payroll feature has been useful to me as well, I like being able to go back and see past checks.

What do you dislike?

The other features, such as benefits and messages, are not as easy to use as the timesheet. They are fine though, they just take some getting used to.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Make sure that you have a training for your employees about how to use it. Once you get used to it, Workday is simple but it can be confusing at first if you have never used it. I wouldn't say that this is a downside to the product though, as this is the case with any new technology or software system.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Keeping track of time worked, benefits, retirement, etc.

"Excellent HR and Employee tool"

What do you like best?

Supports mobile devices seamlessly. Search functionality and auto suggestions, announcement and notification Panel on landing page looks nice. Creating new time off request is easier. All employee related stuffs on the profile details screen and easy to navigate from one central location. Configurable widgets available to use as per company requirement.

What do you dislike?

Goal section can be more intuitive. Unnessessay links at every page which keeps on navigating you to same screen.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Nice tool for seamless HR and employee data management. Happy to recommend it.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Workday is being used as an internal tool to manage the employee data. This has enabled to easily get information about any employee in the company. Automated tasks through workday has been made easier for use.

"Workday is awesome in some ways, not awesome in others!"

What do you like best?

I like how easy it is to promote and demote people, while putting in for changes of pay. I also like how easy it is to see my team structure and everyone under me easily. We also use it for the annual review process and survey questions and it works super well for that! Also, it works seamlessly with our phones and computers so that we can approve and look at things on the go. (I work retail management, so that is very important since we aren’t in front of our computers too much!)

What do you dislike?

I don’t like how it is down so frequently! We have a workday outage at least once a month, and in an environment where we’re always hiring, firing, demoting, promoting, and moving people around that can be frustrating!

I’ve also found that it’s sometimes not user friendly when looking for specific information about an employee, or if you’re not familiar with the system. It can be hard to find things!

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Take the time to get familiar with it, because once you do it’s so easy.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The number one problem that is solved and benefit that is realized is the applicant/orientee tracking. We are constantly making personell changes, which means that it can be hard to keep track of who we are hiring, orientating, promoting, etc. workday helps us keep track of that easily, as well as keeping track of what we need to do with paperwork, verifications, approvals, etc. It is very nicely organized when you’re familiar with it! The number one benefit from that is that we spend less time in front of the computer worrying about HR things, and more time doing our jobs!

I know that Kohl’s is satisfied with Workday, and is planning on shifting even more to Workday and away from other HR software

"Great HR product"

What do you like best?

I can access all my personal and work related information on Workday. I can make changes on my benefits, my time sheet, personal bio info, etc. I can also obtain information on other people at my company as well. It is very easy to navigate around the website. I can view all of my payslips and change my direct deposit and W4 forms. It is truly a HR one stop for all.

What do you dislike?

The process can be tedious. Whenever I make a change, it goes through upper management. The goals and self appraisal process were also very confusing. There were multiple steps and I didn't see why it needed to be that way. They should've just made everything available online instead of us having to upload a word document of our goals and appraisals.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

For managers, it is important to take training seriously. It might seem very easy to use, but there are many tricks that you might learn. Also, with HR, it is based on individual so there are many "what-if" situations. Thus, you will have a lot of trial and error.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Having so many people in the company, it is very time consuming to manage HR related things for everyone on top of having new recruits. It is easily accessible for the current employees (can't say much for the new employees). I can access and make changes at home or at the office.

"Nice HR Management Tool"

What do you like best?

Profile details, Compensation details, Compensation history, Performance management, Emergency Contact details are all very nice sections. Workday is highly customizable tool that can be implemented as per company specific requirements. Workday has capability to display multiple roles according to the assignment. Notification and inbox are nice features to notify to do items.

What do you dislike?

There are links which redirects you to the same page repetitively instead of detail page every time you click. Time off can be displayed in more better way.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Workday is a great tool for all companies. This helps you managing multiple functions at one place from HR point of view.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Employee records management and as a HR collaboration site. This is a nice tool with less integration efforts.

"Source of truth"

What do you like best?

We've recently implemented workday and it has been a lifesaver when it comes to headcount tracking for our departments. It is also very user-friendly and easy to navigate. Before we had to manually track headcount for each department and now we can direct all team members and key stakeholders to workday for them to view their headcount themselves.

What do you dislike?

Integration with all of our other systems. As of right now we are only able to integrate with our ATS. Still working out kinks. We are still using another system for benefits admin, and payroll. Would love to have performance management and reviews tracked in workday.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Very easy to use and from what I heard, the implementation was a success and smooth with great support from the Workday team. If you want to get ahead of headcount planning for the year I'd highly recommend implementing workday sooner than later!

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Headcount tracking, available roles per team and department. When we can officially open roles. Who are we hiring into roles and when are they leaving or switching teams - this is very helpful as we have certain policies on when employees can transfer roles or interview for others and it specifically states when employees have changed roles and how long they've bene in each.
