## Workday HCM Reviews
 ### 1. Workday HCM Makes Payroll, Scheduling, and Onboarding Seamless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Timothy S. | Special Processing Unit, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

Workday HCM is incredible and helps me manage everything to do with my employees in one place! With the ability to do payroll and and manage the employees scheduling and clock in it makes it beyond easy to use so that everything can be in one convenient place! The UI is so amazing and it makes it so seamless and easy. Especially since you don't need to explain anything to new onboarding employees. It all handles itself!

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

The one thing I dislike about Workday HCM is that it has pretty limited customization. It would be nice if they allowed you to customize the entirety of the website but unfortunately it limits you to what you can customize. I believe every employee should be able to customize their screen to their choosing especially since they have to work with it everyday and it basically becomes apart of their daily routine. Something like this can go a long way to help new employees with troubling interface problems and even just boost overall moral well being because you get to look at something you feel like you had a hand in! Besides that I actually love using this and wouldn't change it for anything!

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM helps me solve so many things at once! Not only can I manage and schedule my employees but I am also able to handle all of payroll and many more features! It makes it so easy to do so many things all in one place and thanks to it I can spend minimal time dealing with these problems and can focus on my work! Its amazing how easy this makes it!

 ### 2. Unified HR Data, But a Steep Learning Curve and Clunky Search

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Neelanjana M. | Sr. Corporate Trainer/ Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

What I appreciate most is the unified data architecture. Having HR, payroll, and talent management all in one place eliminates the need for messy integrations. It ensures that when a change is made to an employee record, it reflects across every module instantly, which drastically reduces data entry errors.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

The platform has a steep learning curve for new administrators. Because it is so highly configurable, the initial setup and ongoing maintenance require specialized knowledge or expensive consultants. For casual users, the search functionality can sometimes be non-intuitive, requiring multiple clicks to find relatively simple tasks or documents.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A major problem we faced was the high volume of manual requests for simple tasks like address changes or tax updates. Workday’s robust self-service portal moved these tasks directly to the employees. This has significantly lightened the administrative load on our HR department and improved data accuracy, as employees are now responsible for their own information updates.

 ### 3. Efficient, intuitive, and great for everyday HR self-service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luisa B. | Cash Application Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

What I like most about Workday HCM is how it centralizes all my essential work tools into one intuitive platform. I can easily log my hours, download my pay stubs, and request time off in just a few clicks. The self-service functionality is excellent, giving me full autonomy over my personal information and HR tasks without any hassle. It’s rare to find an enterprise tool that is this user-friendly and reliable.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

The navigation can occasionally feel a bit convoluted. While the interface is clean, some specific information is buried under multiple layers of sub-tabs and menus. It sometimes requires more clicks than expected to find a particular document or setting, which can be slightly frustrating when you're in a hurry.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM solves the problem of fragmented HR processes by centralizing everything in one secure location. Before, managing payroll, time tracking, and vacation requests often required multiple platforms or back-and-forth emails with HR.

This benefits me by providing complete autonomy and transparency. I can log my hours daily, access my historical pay stubs, and manage my tax documents independently. Having a single source of truth for my employment data saves me a significant amount of time and ensures that I have instant access to my information whenever I need it, directly contributing to a more organized work-life management.

 ### 4. Workday Makes HR Service Delivery Fast, Easy, and Well-Integrated

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aman S. | HR Service Delivery Representative, Human Resources, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I work in HR service delivery, and Workday is very easy to use—everything is set up nicely. I can quickly view employee information, including payslips and benefits. I’m also able to process many types of job changes and post jobs both internally and externally. It makes it straightforward to manage time off and leaves of absence as well. I can generate different types of letters, and I can track time and payments too. Overall, it’s the best HCM for what I need. It’s also connected to our other Microsoft tools like Outlook and Teams, as well as ServiceNow.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

Security! Although it’s a good thing that people can have different security levels and their access can be limited, sometimes, working in HR, if you aren’t given the correct security you simply can’t do your job. For example, in Workday Learning, you need Learning Admin access to manage employees’ learning, but if you’re not granted that access, you end up having to rely on the internal Workday/HRIS team and go back and forth just to complete the reporting requests from stakeholders.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can do many things in one place: job requisitions and job changes like transfers, promotions, and demotions. I don’t have to manually track employee leave balances because they’re tracked automatically. I also don’t have to manually write letters for employees; once the templates are set up by our internal HRIS team, I can just add the needed information and generate the letter I want—for example, an employment verification letter. There are many good things about Workday, but in short, it’s the best thing that can happen to HR. There are no multiple apps to learn.

 ### 5. Streamlined HR Processes with Powerful Automation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arya P. | HR Analyst- Global Benefits Operations, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

What I appreciate the most about Workday HCM is how much can be automated. Routine HR tasks like approval, notification, and workflow can be set up to run smoothly without constant manual intervention. I also like the flexibility to create custom reports and tailored notifications, which makes it easier to get the exact insights we need and keep the right people informed. It saves time and reduces repetitive work while still giving us control over how the system supports our processes. Additionally, the ability to integrate Workday HCM with other systems helps reduce manual work and keeps information consistent across HR systems, making processes more efficient and less error-prone.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

While Workday is powerful, some areas could be more user-friendly. Reporting is flexible but can feel complicated if you're not already familiar with the systems, and it sometimes takes extra efforts to get the exact data you need. Navigation can also feel a bit click-heavy, with multiple steps required for simple tasks. Users who are not technical feel it more complex. A more guided or simplified reporting interface would make it easier to quickly pull the insights we need without relying on advance knowledge.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM centralizes employee data, streamlining HR operations. It's easy for employees to self-manage, and managers track changes efficiently. Automation and custom reporting save time and reduce repetitive tasks. Integrations ensure seamless data flow, enhancing efficiency and reducing errors.

 ### 6. Easy-to-Use Interface with Straightforward Workflows

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason H. | Manager, WFM and Business Analysis, Management Consulting, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

The interface is easy to use and quick to get comfortable with. The front page is well laid out, and the workflows are straightforward once you get used to the formats and how everything is organized.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

The workflows aren’t always easy to follow. I also really don’t like how the reports are laid out—they feel cumbersome to use, and it’s often hard to understand what information is being requested for input. The goals feature is a nice addition, but it isn’t always user-friendly.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At the beginning of the year, we had to enter our department goals so they align with the broader organization. This gives us visibility into goals across the organization, and it’s easier to see how everything connects. Workday helps us keep track of our department goals and stay on top of them throughout the year.

 ### 7. Workday HCM: Seamless All-in-One HR Experience with an Intuitive Interface

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Viral S. | IT SecOps Manager, Oil & Energy, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

Workday HCM’s biggest strength is how seamlessly it brings everything together in one place—HR data, payroll, benefits, time tracking, and employee self-service all feel connected and easy to navigate. The interface is clean and intuitive, which makes routine tasks quick to complete, and the self-service features empower employees to manage their own information without needing constant HR support. Overall, it creates a smoother, more efficient experience for both users and administrators.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

Workday HCM is a strong platform overall, but some parts can feel less intuitive than expected. Certain workflows require too many steps or are buried under multiple menus, which can slow users down. The system can also have a noticeable learning curve, especially for employees who don't use it often. While powerful, some features feel overly rigid or limited in customization, making it harder to tailor processes to specific business needs.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM helps our energy company streamline and centralize critical HR processes that were previously scattered across multiple systems. It simplifies workforce management, improves data accuracy, and reduces manual administrative work, which is especially valuable in an industry with diverse roles, from field technicians to corporate staff. Overall, Workday supports smoother operations and helps us manage a large, distributed workforce more effectively.

 ### 8. Great for Interviews, Candidate Tracking, and Easy Approvals

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven B. | Campus Facilities Technical Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

It was great for interviews and candidate tracking, and I never had an issue with that. Approvals were easy as well. We didn’t have Slack integration set up, although that might have been possible. For staff 1:1s and annual review meeting notes, we kept everything in Google Docs and didn’t store them in Workday; it would have been nice to have all of that in one place.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

We didn’t have our meeting notes in there, and our KPIs or performance plans were all kept as separate documents in Google Drive. It would be much better if all of these could be stored together in Workday.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We don’t use Workday anymore; the company has moved to Rippling. I’m not sure why the change was made—maybe it was cheaper...........................................

 ### 9. Centralized HR Hub with Robust Data Synchronization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maksym C. | Web Developer

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I like that Workday HCM reduces inconsistencies in employee data across systems by serving as a central source of truth. It simplifies onboarding, offboarding, and role updates, which improves user provision and reduces manual work between HR and IT systems. I find the workflow automation and approvals well-structured, ensuring processes are followed consistently. The reporting feature is useful, providing quick access to reliable employee data without needing extra manual extraction from multiple systems, which is very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

One area that could be improved is flexibility in certain configurations. Some changes require more administrative effort or vendor support than expected for integration. Troubleshooting can also be time-consuming when data issues occur between Workday HCM and external systems. Additionally, some reports require adjustments to get exactly the needed view, which can add extra steps for technical users.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Workday HCM to reduce inconsistencies in employee data by serving as a central source of truth. It simplifies onboarding, offboarding, and role updates, streamlining processes between HR and IT and reducing manual work.

 ### 10. Seamless Integration, Planning is Key

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Francisco L. | Sr. IT Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I have found Workday HCM to be great for HR and Payroll. As an end user, the options are clear and easy to use. As an admin, I appreciate the platform's ability to integrate with almost any platform, which has been incredibly useful. The feature I relied on most was the sync with Okta for end user provisioning. The ability to integrate with most major platforms is something I like most about Workday HCM.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

Because the platform has the ability to integrate with HR, Finance, and Telnet platforms, admins really need to plan what is expected on the user experience side, or you risk overcomplicating and overwhelming them with too many options. Workday should provide a more robust admin support portal.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Workday HCM for HR and Payroll, and it provides seamless integration with major platforms. The clear, easy-to-use options as an end user and the integration capability as an admin are great benefits.

 ### 11. Intuitive and Unified Platform, Yet Complex for New Users

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amaury L. | licensed health advisor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I like how Workday HCM is intuitive with a modern interface. Everything being on one unified platform is really convenient. The self-service portal is amazing, and the real-time analytics and dashboards are super helpful. The mobile app is great for solving on-the-go problems. I also appreciate how it integrates well with other tools like Microsoft Teams, LinkedIn Recruiting, financials team, and benefit providers. The setup was pretty streamlined, and I didn't encounter many issues. Overall, I'd rate it 10/10 because it's great.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

The system is very powerful but can feel complex for new users and managers; training takes time. It's flexible but building reports often requires extra help or better technical abilities. Simpler navigation, more intuitive reporting, and a better mobile experience are needed.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM reduces admin time, minimizes errors, speeds up processes, and emphasizes people over paperwork. The unified platform with real-time analytics supports on-the-go problem-solving, enhancing our workflow with an accurate employee database and quick performance reviews.

 ### 12. Workday HCM: Powerful AI, Seamless Integrations, and World-Class Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aditi P. | HR Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

Workday HCM excels by blending a user-centric UI/UX with powerful AI-driven intelligence that automates complex workforce planning and talent insights. Its seamless integrations and high-speed performance create a unified source of truth, ensuring a massive ROI through streamlined operations. Furthermore, their world-class support and onboarding programs ensure that organizations can scale effectively while maximizing the platform's full technical potential.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

While Workday is powerful, its UI/UX can feel overly rigid and click-heavy for complex administrative tasks, making the learning curve steeper than expected. The Pricing model remains a significant hurdle for mid-sized firms, and while Integrations are robust, they often require specialized technical expertise to implement correctly. Additionally, Support response times can be slow during major updates, which can temporarily impact system Performance and user adoption.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM solves the problem of fragmented HR processes by centralizing payroll, talent, and time-tracking into a single, secure UI/UX. This integration eliminates the need for manual data entry across multiple platforms, providing a "single source of truth" that ensures high Performance and data accuracy. By leveraging AI/Intelligence to automate repetitive tasks and provide predictive insights, the system delivers a high ROI through increased operational efficiency and better strategic decision-making.

 ### 13. Streamlined Employee Management, Needs Recruitment Flexibility

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** João S. | Talent Sourcer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I like Workday HCM because it allows me to organize everything and keep everything on track. I appreciate that it lets me manage both recruitment and people administration matters all in one place, which is great because it avoids duplication.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

I think Workday HCM from a recruitment perspective could be a little bit improved. Compared to other ATSs, it might fall a bit behind. For instance, when it comes to moving candidates to specific stages, it's not so flexible. It doesn't let us move a candidate back to the old stage once they've been advanced. In that regard, it feels a bit complicated and clunky. The features are also not very user-friendly sometimes when it comes to recruitment.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Workday HCM to keep track of employees' data and handle recruitment operations through a single source of truth. It avoids duplication by allowing me to organize and manage both recruitment and people administration matters in one place.

 ### 14. Intuitive All-in-One HR Platform with Real-Time Insights and Continuous Updates

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

What I like best about Workday HCM is its intuitive and user-friendly interface, which makes HR processes much easier to manage.
Its unified cloud platform brings HR, payroll, talent, and analytics together in one system, improving efficiency and visibility.
The real-time reporting and dashboards help organizations make faster, data-driven decisions.
I also appreciate its flexibility and continuous updates, which keep the platform modern and adaptable to business needs.

One downside of Workday HCM is that some advanced configurations and customizations can be complex and require specialized knowledge.
The platform can also feel overwhelming for new users due to the large number of features and modules.
Reporting and integrations may sometimes take extra effort to set up compared to simpler HR tools.
Additionally, implementation and licensing costs can be high for smaller organizations.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM helps solve challenges related to managing HR processes across hiring, payroll, employee data, performance, and workforce planning in one centralized platform.
It reduces manual work and improves accuracy through automation and real-time data access.

 ### 15. Streamlined HR with Real-Time Insights

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ganji S. | Data Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I like the one-system experience with Workday HCM, which gives me the flexibility of not having to reconcile records between multiple systems or sources for reports and analytics on workforce and HR management. I appreciate its real-time report pulling capability because, unlike looking at a snapshot from yesterday, it allows anytime data pulling to view real data at that moment. For instance, if a manager approves a leave for an employee at noon, and I pull the report at 12:01, it shows that update right away. I also find the initial setup not so cumbersome, and it is great overall to use.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

I would say some simple tasks like updating an address for example have multiple menus/pop-ups. I think this could be improved to a more straightforward approach.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM centralizes HR-related tasks like recruiting, payroll, talent, and performance management, eliminating the need for multiple systems. I appreciate the one-system experience and real-time report pulling, allowing for seamless data access and accurate analytics without needing reconciliation.

It benefits me by making workflows faster and more organized, especially when handling approvals, accessing employee information, and generating reports. The automation features and AI-powered insights help save time, improve productivity, and make it easier to track important tasks and updates. Overall, Workday HCM improves efficiency, collaboration, and the overall employee experience.

 ### 18. Game-Changer for HR Management with Some Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Akshitha K. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I use Workday HCM primarily for payroll processing, and it has genuinely transformed how we manage our workforce. The standout feature for me is the reporting and analytics, giving us visibility into headcount and payroll trends. I appreciate that Workday HCM automates workflows significantly and makes payroll much faster. If I had to pick one thing I love most, it would be the real-time workforce data. Having instant, up-to-date visibility into headcount and turnover is invaluable. Workday connects the dots between HR, payroll, and recruiting data in a way that no other platform I've used has. This has a direct impact on faster decision-making and better workforce planning. The integration with Teams works overall well, and the initial setup required very minimal effort. The user experience and the all-in-one platform capability were better than other tools I've used, like ADP and BambooHR.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

Workday HCM has a steep learning curve for first-time users, making it initially complex to navigate. The high implementation costs and licensing could be a barrier for smaller organizations with limited budgets. Additionally, a more intuitive interface and navigation could make it more user-friendly, along with improvements in system performance and load times.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM automates manual HR processes, reducing errors and speeding up payroll. Real-time data simplifies decision-making and improves workforce planning by providing insights into hiring patterns.

 ### 19. Workday: Simple Self-Service HR with Great Enterprise Performance

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

Workday keeps everything under one roof, which actually removes a lot of integration pain once faces with the usual HR setup. The UI is very simple to use employees can quickly self-service without the HR team's help. The onboarding is very flexible and not overly customised. Since, it's a enterprise ready product the performance is really great. The pricing is friendly since we are a enterprise company.

The licensing cost will be a lot if you are from a small commercial company. Ai is only good as per your data, sometimes the recommendations can be little generic.

Our whole HR, performance, hiring and the payroll is streamed into a single system with all the shared data which removes the integration failures and helps us with faster execution. **Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

It is very user friendly and compatible with all devices. We have had a great experience with set up as well as employees being able to get how the system works and why it exists.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

One challenge I have experienced with Workday HCM is that some workflows and configurations can feel overly complex, particularly when organizations try to customize processes extensively. While the platform is powerful, tasks such as approvals, reporting, or organizational changes can sometimes require multiple steps, which may reduce efficiency for end users if the system is not well configured.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM helps solve several operational and workforce management challenges by centralizing employee data, streamlining HR processes, and improving visibility across the organization. I also like that updates and approvals happen quickly and I can track the status of requests in real time, which makes things feel more transparent. Overall, it reduces a lot of back-and-forth and helps keep everything related to HR organized in one system.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

What I don’t like about Workday HCM is that while it’s very functional, it can sometimes feel a bit complex when trying to find less frequently used features. Some menus and navigation paths aren’t always immediately intuitive, so it can take a few extra clicks or some searching to get where I need to go.

At times, certain tasks like making updates or reviewing detailed information can feel a bit repetitive because of the multiple steps involved. It works well overall, but there are moments where the workflow feels heavier than it needs to be for simple actions.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

What Workday HCM is solving for me is the need to manage all my HR-related tasks across different systems or through manual processes. Instead of having to email HR, track down information, or use separate tools for things like time off, pay, and benefits, everything is centralized in one platform.

This benefits me by making day-to-day tasks much more efficient and organized. I can quickly access the information I need, submit requests without delays, and track updates in real time. It reduces back-and-forth communication and helps ensure that nothing gets lost or overlooked, which ultimately saves time and makes the overall experience smoother and more transparent.

 ### 22. Streamlines HR Operations with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** deepankar c. | Lead Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I like that Workday HCM is an all-in-one platform for managing HR tasks. It provides a clean interface, which makes it easy to navigate and complete tasks quickly without much training, saving time in day-to-day use. I appreciate the easy access to employee data, which ensures I can find important information like team details, leave balances, or performance updates without switching between multiple systems, making decision-making and coordination much more efficient. It streamlines processes like leave requests, performance tracking, and approvals, making everything more efficient and organized. Workday HCM simplifies HR processes by centralizing employee data and automating tasks like leave management, performance tracking, and approvals, reducing manual work and improving visibility into team information.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

Some areas could be improved, such as system speed and navigation for certain tasks, which can feel a bit slow or require multiple clicks. The search functionality can also be inconsistent at times, making it harder to quickly find specific information.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM centralizes employee data, automates leave management, performance tracking, and approvals, reducing manual work and streamlining HR processes. It improves visibility into team information, making daily HR operations more efficient and organized.

 ### 23. Streamlined Employee Onboarding, Great But Needs Better Guidance

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Claire K. | Sr. Talent Management Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I appreciate that Workday HCM makes it super easy for a candidate once they apply, as all their information automatically goes into the system without them needing to take another step. They can accept or decline a job offer right there in the system, ensuring everything is well-documented. It offers really standardized experiences for candidates and makes onboarding simple, without relying on HR business partners for paperwork. I also like using it for talent management, as it's nice to have people's work history in one place, allowing managers to provide input and create personalized experiences. This leads to enhanced experiences across all levels. I'm really happy with Workday HCM and would give it a 10 out of 10.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

It's frustrating to have our setup configured in a way that doesn't make sense due to decisions made when initially implementing the system. When I try to get more information, I'm overwhelmed with the vast options available in Workday HCM but without guidance on best practices or effective usage from Workday. Being unable to join the Workday community board without approval makes it tough, especially since I have to rely on external sites like Reddit for information.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM simplifies employee onboarding, automating candidate information entry. It standardizes candidate experiences and reduces reliance on HR for documentation. I find its talent management features helpful for personalized employee experiences and future role planning.

 ### 24. Workday HCM

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eugene D. | Director, ERP Sustainment & Delivery, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

Workday HCM offers a centralized platform that streamlines core HR processes such recruitment, compensation management, full employee life-cycle and access to employee data in real time. Workday offers a user friendly interface for end-users and a fairly intuitive approach to perform HR transactions both via self-service and via HR Shared Services teams. One of the key features that our employees like is the self-service capability. Platform early adopters were fascinated that they could see their profile updates (i.e. payment elections, tax elections, personal info, etc.) updated in real time, rather than sending an email to a generic mailbox and waiting for a long time for the changes to be reflected. Additionally, Workday offers fantastic reporting and dashboard capabilities. which allow for data-driven decisions & recommendations. Finally, Workday integrates well with other systems (either via core connectors or custom integration solution developed in Workday Studio) and that makes Workday to be the hub and source of truth for employee data.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

Workday is an expensive platform, so it may not be a good fit for smaller companies. Also, significant change management is required to capitalize on the benefits of Workday HCM.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prior to Workday, our company did not have a centralized HR system. Employee data was stored in multiple systems. Centralizing employee data and having access to it, as well as the ability to report on it, is the main problem that Workday helped us solve for. Access to data allows our senior leadership to make data driven decisions. It also allows our HR Team to spend more time on strategic issues, rather than chasing accurate employee data.

 ### 25. Unified Enterprise Grade Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve L. | Manager, HR Technology, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

Workday HCM is a powerful unified solution that allows us to easily manage our people cycles and operational tasks while providing a familiar and user-friendly environment for our workers. It has a comprehensive suite of solutions that covers many areas of HCM management, reducing the need for integrations. Because it is a unified solution with so many functional areas and data related to these, reporting and analytics across HR becomes very simple and powerful

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

Implementations of the system can be challenging for organizations to handle and typically are difficult projects, resulting in work that flows over to Production thereafter. Also related to this, staffing a Workday team can be challenging and can be difficult to build. It can be tough to find good talent internally or externally to help support the system

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides a central platform for our workers and our HR administrators creating a consumer grade experience. Our team members are very familiar with it, and managers are used to completing operational and people cycle related tasks in the environment and feel comfortable after doing it for many years. Again, because it is a unified solution, it has reduced the need for strictly technical administrators and many business-users with HR background can work through integrations where they are needed using Workdays capabilities as an iPaaS, but for the most part, integrations is not a major concern of ours because it is a unified solution with many great products

 ### 26. Simple, User-Friendly, and Highly Customizable with Connected Modules

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Biotechnology | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

its very simple but very user friendly. There's many layers so the things you can do or customize feels rather infinite. Many different modules are available and connected with this system meaning that the changes and updates we create in the system will be available in many other places in the system. It's easy to see and move through the an org tree and see all the critical and helpful information of our employees

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

the system can be a bit too simple, there's not a ton of clear guidance on what the system can do, users would have to explore and figure it out themselves. A user would have to click through all buttons to see where everything is in order to learn how to use it.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it gives us a place to have a source of truth. Data is updated instantly and it's a great way to look up and track information around our employee population .

 ### 27. Powerful SSO but Frustrating UX and Setup

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I like the SSO functionality in Workday HCM, which works really well. It makes it easy to log in to all of the different software that I use for my day job and is easy to manage. Unlike our old system, it doesn't require 2FA every single time.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

One of the worst UX's of any product I have ever used. Impossible to find anything and the visual hierarchy is terrible. Any time you need to find anything or do a task it's always buried and really hard to understand if you have successfully completed a task. The flat black and white only UX is so terrible. Very hard initial setup that took a super long time to accomplish.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM makes it easy to find tax documents, change benefit enrollments, check paystubs, and manage everything on one platform.

 ### 28. Streamlined OKRs and Performance Tracking with a Handy Org Chart

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shahid Ul I. | Intershala Student Partner (ISP), Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

The performance management and goal-tracking features are very streamlined. Setting OKRs and tracking progress within the tool is much smoother compared to the spreadsheets we used previously. I also like the 'Org Chart' visualization feature; it makes it very easy to find who reports to whom across different technical teams.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

The web interface can sometimes be sluggish and heavy to load, especially during peak usage times like payroll cutoffs or performance review cycles. The 'loading' spinner appears frequently when switching between modules. For a cloud-based platform, the responsiveness could be much snappier compared to other modern SaaS tools we use.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the issue of fragmented systems. We used to have separate logins for payroll, performance reviews, and attendance. Workday consolidates all of this into a single platform. Benefit: having a 'Single Source of Truth' with one SSO login makes it much easier to manage my employee data. I don't have to remember multiple passwords or navigate different interfaces to find my information.

 ### 29. Unified, Intuitive HR Platform with Powerful Real-Time Reporting

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arun Ganesh S. | Head of Data and Analytics, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

Workday HCM stands out for its unified platform and intuitive, easy-to-use user experience. Being able to manage core HR, payroll, talent, and reporting within a single system helps reduce siloed operations and keeps everything in one place. The real-time reporting and dashboards are especially valuable, enabling quicker decision-making. In addition, its cloud-based nature ensures regular updates without heavy maintenance overhead for day-to-day use, and it’s also easy to integrate.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

While Workday HCM is powerful, certain configurations—especially advanced reporting and business process frameworks—can be complex and may require experienced resources. The user interface is generally intuitive, but it can feel less flexible when supporting highly customized workflows, particularly if the setup isn’t done properly. Also, integrating with legacy or non-Workday systems can sometimes take additional effort, and it can be complex.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM has streamlined our HR operations by bringing multiple systems together into a single platform. This consolidation has improved data accuracy, reduced manual effort, and strengthened our reporting capabilities. As a result, our HR teams can spend more time on strategic initiatives instead of day-to-day administrative tasks. Workflow automation has also increased overall process efficiency while supporting compliance.

 ### 30. Intuitive All-in-One HR Platform with Powerful Real-Time Reporting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohamed A. | Service Delivery Manager (Europe) | Unified Communications, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

Workday HCM is strongest in its intuitive, user‑friendly interface that makes everyday HR tasks simple for both employees and managers. Its all‑in‑one design brings everything—employee data, payroll, time off, performance, and reporting—into a single, consistent platform. The system’s real‑time data, powerful reporting, and continuous updates help HR teams make faster, more informed decisions. Users also appreciate the self‑service features, which reduce administrative work and empower employees to manage their own information easily.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

Some workflows require too many clicks or are hidden behind menus that aren’t immediately obvious. Users often mention that finding specific actions (like certain reports or configuration options) takes time.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problem: HR information was spread across multiple tools, spreadsheets, and manual processes.
Benefit: Workday centralizes everything—employee data, payroll, time off, performance, and org structures—into one unified system, reducing errors and improving data accuracy.

 ### 31. Everything Centralized in Workday—Easy Task, Document, and Service Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hamidullah N. | Global Online Learning Program Administrator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

Everything is centralized in one App, making it easy to implement your tasks, follow up on, and manage your work and documents. It supports customers by reminding them ahead of the activity deadline and with clear instructions. It also offers different communication and support options for customers. I manage all my full-time and part-time jobs in Workday every day. I love the ability to integrate different services into a single place in Workday.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

Until now, I have not faced any activities that are not possible in Workday, so I like this ability.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM helps address challenges related to fragmented HR systems, manual processes, and limited visibility into workforce data. By centralizing employee information, payroll, benefits, performance, and talent management in one platform, it reduces administrative burden, minimizes errors, and improves data accuracy.

For me, this results in more efficient HR operations, faster and more consistent processes (such as onboarding, changes, and reporting), and better access to real-time workforce insights. Overall, Workday HCM enables better decision-making, improves compliance, and enhances the employee experience by providing a single, reliable system for managing people data.

 ### 32. User-Friendly Job Applications, But Some Repetitive Steps and Confusing Mobile Navigation

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Octavio R. | Agent, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

What I like best about Workday HCM is that it is easy to search and apply for jobs through the web platform. The interface is user-friendly, applications are straightforward to complete, and it makes tracking job applications convenient and organized.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

One downside of Workday HCM is that some job applications require entering the same information multiple times even after uploading a resume. The navigation can also feel confusing at times, especially when applying from mobile devices, and the application process may take longer than expected for certain positions.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM helps simplify and centralize the job application and recruitment process. It makes it easier to search for positions, submit applications, and track application status in one place. This saves time, improves organization, and provides a more convenient experience when applying for multiple opportunities online.

 ### 33. Streamlined Hiring, Rigorous Visibility

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amit Z. | Talent Acquisition & Transformation - CPO Group, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I like the end-to-end visibility Workday HCM provides across the hiring process. The real-time visibility of where each candidate sits and who needs to act next in the process reduces follow-ups and delays. I find the workflow automation and approval flows especially useful. They reduce manual effort, keep things moving, ensure consistency, and make the process faster and easier to manage at scale.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

The user interface can feel a bit odd at times, can't add much creativity to the job adverts. Also, approval processes aren't always intuitive. Reporting can also be limited without additional configuration and small changes often require systems support rather than being easily self-managed.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM streamlines the hiring process, centralizing candidate tracking, approvals, and onboarding to improve pipeline visibility. It minimizes manual work, ensures consistency, and enhances compliance in hiring workflows.

 ### 34. Easy, Daily HR and Payroll Management in One Place

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I think its solving our HR and Payroll management needs by giving up one stop access to all our needs. It effectively manages my personal data like , professional, education.

 ### 35. Effortless Usability at Scale, But APIs and Integrations Need More Clarity

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Varun S. | Staff Engineer I, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

It’s easy to scale across the organization. With minimal or no training, users are able to understand how to interact with the app to perform basic daily tasks. Overall, it makes usability feel effortless.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

The APIs are not easy to understand. When integrations with other systems are needed, a lot of evaluation is required, especially around privacy. I have seen other systems offer a much more convenient developer portal, along with better customization for controlling what types of data are shared through specific API fields.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it for day-to-day employee-related tasks such as filling out timesheets, managing compensation, and submitting absence requests. It also helps with downstreaming employee data across systems, and I can easily check my current balance and supervisor details when needed.

 ### 36. Centralized HR Data with Smooth Setup, Needs Improved Reporting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Krishan Y. | Lead Recruiter, Consulting, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I like how Workday HCM brings everything into one unified and intuitive platform. It's great having a single source of truth for all HR data. Whether it's employee records, payroll, performance, or recruiting, it makes day-to-day operations much more efficient and reliable. The initial setup was really smooth and helpful.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

One thing that should be improved is its reporting and customization complexity. While the platform offers powerful reporting capabilities, building custom reports or modifying existing ones isn't always very intuitive and often requires additional support or training. Workday HCM could focus on making advanced reporting and customization more user-friendly.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM eliminates data fragmentation, centralizing employee information and minimizing manual errors. It unifies HR data into a single platform, making operations like payroll, performance, or recruiting more efficient and reliable.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jaimie C. | Senior People Process Designer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

Workday makes it easy to store files and view the history of employees. I also appreciate the on-screen help text, dashboards, and reports that make sure everyone is on the same page.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

I think Workday HCM could improve in general UX for ease of use and editing. While Workday is inherently rational once you understand it, it's not always immediately apparent for newer users how to get the desired result. Studying user behavior to make it more intuitive would be helpful in propelling it to the next level of understandability for new users. Additionally, unlocking more reporting features would be great, both in terms of more options for reports and more clarity around what filters do on reports.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Workday HCM to view and edit employee profiles, manage team changes like hiring and compensation, and access learning resources. It provides self-service tools for data management and file storage, and helps keep everyone aligned with dashboards, org charts, and reports.

A better software for phone users, sometimes it's harder to view on a phone and the desktop applications is much better

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Workday HCM to check staff rotas and plan my day. It shows real-time attendance and reduces time by integrating onboarding to payroll, eliminating the need for multiple software.

 ### 42. Seamless HR, Payroll, Finance & Analytics for Complex Multi-Country Compliance

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

HR, Payroll, Finance, and Analytics all connect seamlessly and stay in sync. It handles complex, multi-country compliance and payroll (in 60+ countries) better than almost anyone else. It also feels purpose-built for a 10,000+ employee company that needs consistent logic and processes across 20 different regions.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

While the UI looks clean and modern, the overall user experience can still be frustrating. Even simple tasks—like requesting PTO or locating a specific tax form—often take too many clicks and require digging through multiple layers of nested menus.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM helps solve the problem of “data silos” by bringing payroll, benefits, and performance together in a single platform. This keeps information consistent and accurate across the entire company, so everyone is working from the same source of truth.

 ### 43. Still a Workday Fan, but Super Frustrated

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

The way data is still organized is intuitive to HR professionals, however, I'm starting to become disillusioned with the product. Over the past few years one of the biggest selling points to me was the value of Community and how Workday took suggestions from Brainstorms and added them to the roadmap for each functional area, and then provided regular Next Level presentations on features as well as release updates for those with certifications. Now, literally all of that is gone/not happening, and it's like Workday has turned everything into a black box in order to maximize shareholder revenue at the expense of the customer.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

I dislike the fact that Community no longer has a lot of the historical solutions, Brainstorms are no longer available/visible (seems like an attempt to hide the fact that the roadmaps are no longer driven by customer ideas and the company strategy is shifting to extracting value for shareholders vs. service to customers), there's no longer regular Next Levels or Release Highlights for those with certifications, and a lot of the new items are all hinging on Agentic solutions which have pricing as clear as mud AND are also so far ahead of where most Workday customers are - it is like forcing people to upgrade from a Model T to a Ferrari.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Audit trails, forcing us to re evaluate how our business operates so we can define the processes in the system.

 ### 44. Comprehensive HR Management Made Easy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ishan P. | Strategy, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I appreciate Workday HCM for its ease of use and navigation, whether I'm an HR manager or an employee applying for internal job postings. The platform's end-to-end functionality for managing human capital is particularly useful. I also value the single platform solution it provides for all HR-related activities, along with delivering data-driven insights.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

I think Workday HCM could improve by increasing the usage of AI to better suggest and identify user needs on the platform. Providing data-driven suggestions, flagging pending tasks, and making navigation easier through a chatbot would be helpful.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM provides a single platform for all HR activities and delivers data-driven insights.

 ### 45. Clunky Integrations, Poor Parsing, and a Frustratingly Broken Candidate Experience

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael W. | Head of Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

As a candidate the dashboard and navigation oin the portal is simple, but effective.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

The worst candidate engagement system i have encountered across the last 6 months seeking employment. Multiple accounts across different roles, horrible parsing, integration with platforms is clunky, and just doesn't work. The amount of times i've uploaded my resume and then had to build out another one on the platform to apply for a role is considerable, wasting a lot of time.

The delete function on an application only works sometimes.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

NA

 ### 46. Quick Setup, Intuitive Employee Management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mario E. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I find Workday HCM to be a great tool for putting PTO and checking points for team members. My favorite feature is the search bar that brings you to the right place you need. For example, if I need an employee's info, I just type the name, and a list with pictures helps me identify the correct team member. I also appreciated that the setup was quick and easy.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

As of now i'm very happy with the program

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Workday HCM to manage PTO and track team member points. It solves the problem of finding start dates and accumulated points. The search bar helps me quickly access employee info, with pictures aiding identification.

 ### 47. Streamlined HR Lifecycle with Robust Security

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin W.

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I appreciate how Workday HCM serves as our system of record for employee data, effectively managing the full employee lifecycle from hire to retire. It supports core HR processes like job and org management, compensation, performance, and reporting. The platform provides consistent, trusted data for workforce insights and decision-making. We've been able to consolidate our data from different platforms into Workday HCM and perform reporting efficiently. I also find the UX relatively easy to pick up on without much training. Workday's security model is robust, allowing us to enforce strict controls to ensure data is only accessible to those authorized to see it.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

I would love to see a UI refresh. There's too many clicks to navigate anywhere at the moment.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM consolidates our data from multiple platforms for centralized reporting. It manages the full employee lifecycle, supports core HR processes, and provides trusted data for decision-making. The easy-to-use UX and robust security model also ensure effective data control.

 ### 48. Robust, Highly Customizable System That Fits Your Internal Processes

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

This is one of the most robust systems I’ve worked with. The ability to customize it to match your internal processes is a major plus. As you become more familiar with the system, you can build a well-developed ecosystem of processes and integrations that makes the HR Operations experience much more seamless.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

It can be a bit overwhelming for those who are new to the system. With so many options available, it’s easy for new customers to miss the value that’s right at their fingertips or to feel unsure about where to start. There are also areas of functionality within Workday that don’t feel as flexible or as intuitive as they could be, such as generating letters or other documents as part of a severance package. Another downside was the removal of a shared customer tenant for exploring new features and functionality. That change reduced the ability to test new functionality or configuration ideas in a collective space with other customers, without needing to pay for additional support and services.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This helps with automating processes and creating consistency across the organization. It provides a single system of truth, which supports data integrity and reduces human error. I also value the centralization of data and processes, along with the automation and connectivity between systems.

 ### 49. Efficient HR Management, But AI Needs Improvement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Greta H.

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I love the overall look of Workday HCM. It's easy to train our employees to do their day-to-day tasks. From an HRIS Analyst perspective, it's so valuable having the data I need to build reports readily available. I also appreciate that Workday HCM allows me to hone my skills and learn more every day. Having our employee data in one spot is a huge time saver since it eliminates the need to pull and integrate data from multiple places. It's incredible to quickly build reports when a department requests specific employee data.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

The AI within Workday, known as Workday Assistant, leaves much to be desired. It could be helpful for employees seeking information or guiding admins through processes, but in our experience, it usually does not understand what is being asked. Additionally, I wish there was more flexibility in the appearance and setup of the absence calendar, like changing colors and updating the look of the time-off balance. Implementing Workday was a long process, and our biggest challenge was getting decisions finalized internally.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM speeds up our process by replacing paper procedures, enabling quicker access to employee data and facilitating efficient business process configuration tailored to organizational needs. It centralizes data, saving time on reporting and supports continuous learning for my HRIS Analyst role.

 ### 50. Single Source of Truth with Powerful Analytics

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily W. | Sr. People Analytics Insights Analyst

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I really value Workday HCM's vast capabilities and tools available to us depending on the use case, like Prism, discovery boards, calculated fields, composite reports, worksheets, and integrations. These features help us cleanse and transform the data as we need it based on each use case, allowing us to combine unrelated and sometimes external data to give our business a comprehensive view of all data that matters most. It also improves the end-user experience by being able to transform data and deliver it all in a single solution. Additionally, Workday HCM has eliminated the need for third-party external analytics tools and allows us to gain deeper insights by pulling from the appropriate business objects within the system.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

I find the analytics visualizations and capabilities a bit clunky for end users compared to other sophisticated analytics tools. Performance is a huge issue, especially when getting into nested calculated fields, as it severely impacts performance. Load times are hard for end users, particularly with segmented security groups. There are also dashboard page limitations to the number of worklets, and I have issues with labels on bar charts in matrix reports and rounding percentages in worksheets charts. I also miss the 'Slides' feature as it was powerful to have live data in a presentation format that leaders and HRBPs could download.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM keeps all data in a single source of truth, catching data governance issues, and meeting stakeholder needs with precise data. It eliminated third-party analytics tools, providing deeper insights. It also combines and transforms data, enhancing end-user experience with a comprehensive view.
