What do you like best about NetSuite?

I like the customizations of the different reports. I can customize the balance sheet and income statement. Certain parts of the business can be excluded from consolidated financials. I can select an expense or balance sheet account and find all support associated with the expense. I like that you can see the approvals for invoices and journal entries in system information. What do you dislike about NetSuite?

I don't particularly appreciate that I can only enter one line at a time for a journal entry. I think there could be improvement with the relationship of the fixed asset module with the rest of the Netsuite CRM. It does not seem to integrate well with the rest of Netsuite. Depreciation journal entries do not show an approver which could be an issue with audits.

I have found some strange limitations with various tasks. If a journal entry is entered on the incorrect subsidiary, you can't simply change the sub. The entry must be reset and reentered.

There seems to be a very steep learning curve. It takes a lot of research to learn about all the capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering NetSuite:

It is beneficial for details. It can work well for small and midsize companies that have a small staff of accounting and finance. A dedicated Netsuite administrator is necessary as the system has a steep learning curve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is NetSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use Netsuite to make sure the company numbers are accurate. I can easily track all activity that impacts accounts. I can track down the journal entry and the backup. We process all company expenses through Netsuite, from payroll expenses to travel reimbursement costs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
