"Effortless Time Tracking with Gusto"
What do you like best about Gusto?

I’ve always liked how easy Gusto is to use. I especially appreciate being able to clock my hours retroactively, which makes things a lot easier for me. I can simply go in afterward, enter the hours I worked, and even add small notes so it’s clear what I worked on. Getting everything set up was also super easy, and I didn’t run into any difficulties. What do you dislike about Gusto?

Nothing—the system works really well overall! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient and User-Friendly Payroll Management"
What do you like best about Gusto?

I like Gusto’s clear breakdown of pay, it makes it easy to see exactly how much I’ve earned per pay period and month, which is really helpful. I also found the initial setup very straightforward, which made the whole experience smooth from the start. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

I don’t have any major dislikes about Gusto at this point. From what I’ve seen, it’s a well-regarded platform. If anything, I’d just say that like with any system, there can be a bit of a learning curve at first, but I’m comfortable picking up new tools quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Gusto Makes Payroll and HR Simple, Centralized, and User-Friendly"
What do you like best about Gusto?

I like using Gusto because it simplifies payroll and HR in a way that’s actually easy to manage day-to-day. Everything is centralized—from payroll processing to tax filings—so it saves time and reduces the risk of errors. It also has a clean, user-friendly interface, which makes it easy for both me and employees to navigate without constant back-and-forth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

What I don’t like about Gusto is that it can feel limited when you need more customized features or complex reporting. Some tasks that should be simple—like making adjustments or pulling specific reports—can take extra steps. It can also get expensive as you add more employees or features, and customer support isn’t always as quick or hands-on as I’d like when something urgent comes up. "Easy, Intuitive Onboarding with Reassuring Compliance Support"
What do you like best about Gusto?

Gusto makes employee onboarding very easy and intuitive. Our company is small, and the fact that this software ensures that we're in compliance with all employment laws is very reassuring. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

One thing I wish Gusto had the capability of was to notify supervisors if something has happened that is not in compliance with company policy. For example, if an employee is clocked in for longer than 5 hours without taking a break, it would be great if this were flagged for me so that I could respond accordingly, instead of the painstaking process of going through each payroll timesheet one by one. "Smooth, Simple Payroll and Streamlined Employee Onboarding"
What do you like best about Gusto?

I like the smooth process of running payroll. It has simple steps I can follow to get it finished. The website is very simple and organized. Onboarding new employees is also simplified, but it still walks me through everything we need to enter in just a few steps. Also customer support has been very helpful in times of need. My weekly use is not over whelming as things are step by step in each sections for payroll with time and attendance and imputing tips and switching employees to check or direct deposit. I learned to use the website in a few training sessions and implementing this into my new weekly routine has been pretty smooth overall making my job smother and less stressful. What do you dislike about Gusto?

I have trouble finding some areas. For example, the toggle for employees to be set to satellite when working over 10-hour shifts can be hard to locate. There are also other sections where you have to do a deep dive into the site to find specific things sometimes, but overall it’s decent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive, Flexible Payroll and HR Made Easy with Gusto"
What do you like best about Gusto?

As a nonprofit employer, we’ve used five different payroll companies over the years. I heard about Gusto from a friend and, after reading reviews, decided to make the switch. Gusto has been even better than I expected. The platform is highly intuitive and offers enough policy flexibility to support a range of HR needs. On top of that, Gusto has a fun app, which makes the experience feel a lot more user-friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

We’ve been using Gusto for almost a year, and so far I haven’t found anything to be disappointed about. I’m a big fan. Gusto makes payroll very easy to set up and even easier to run. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Gusto Makes Workflows Foolproof with Easy Help and Strong Security"
What do you like best about Gusto?

What I like most about Gusto is how easily I can find help when I get stuck. It feels like they’ve really thought through how to make the different workflows as foolproof as possible. Our employees have also had very few issues figuring out how to use it, which is a huge plus. I also appreciate how security-conscious Gusto is, including ensuring I-9s are completed properly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

The least helpful thing about Gusto is that, at times, there seems to be a breakdown in communication regarding the company’s unemployment liability status in certain states. I have uploaded letters from the state confirming that we are not liable, but Gusto still wants me to reconnect to the VEC (for example). The warnings telling me this is an issue every time I log on are becoming tiresome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Super Easy to Use, Accurate Clock-In, and Great Support"
What do you like best about Gusto?

Gusto is super easy to use, makes finding any documents simple and has a lot of enjoyable features. I used it to clock in to a specific job and it was always accurate and easy, two things that make a big difference in a platform that is used every day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

In complete honesty, I don't see downsides to Gusto. I always felt supported when it came to asking questions and receiving answers, I have always been able to easily find the info I need. I've used Gusto at 3 separate companies and it's been a pleasure each time. Logging in and finding info for those different accounts was also easy, something that I really appreciate. "User-Friendly Payroll with Excellent Support"
What do you like best about Gusto?

I like using Gusto for payroll because it makes it easier than calculating all the deductions myself. I really appreciate the ability to chat with an actual person to get an answer, which is super helpful. Additionally, the ease of use is nice. Its pretty simple UI design makes it intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

I wish Gusto had more features, especially with journal entry changes in accounting software, like using manual checks in different accounts than direct deposits. I find the process of handling employee leave cumbersome as I'd prefer an option to mark an employee as inactive instead of skipping them on each payroll. The benefits and deductions setup feels backwards because I have to add the first one through the deductions tab and then can manage everything from the employee page afterward. It would be simpler if everything could start from the same spot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless, User-Friendly Payroll Platform—A Definite Winner for New Companies"
What do you like best about Gusto?

Gusto is user-friendly for both employers and employees. Account setup feels seamless and straightforward. From an employer standpoint, the platform is easy to navigate and use; however, more robust reporting structures would be helpful. For example, having suggested reporting templates, rather than relying on a self-help format, would make it easier to find what you need. An AI-assisted tool would also be a big improvement compared to reading through pages and pages of “self help,” especially if you’re a new user versus someone who’s already familiar with the platform. That said, coming from a SAGE and Pastel background, I would highly recommend Gusto, particularly for new, starting companies. This is a definite winner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

For more advanced payroll users, the functionality feels quite basic. I’d strongly recommend offering tutorials instead of relying mainly on the FAQ pages, as that would make it easier to learn and keep up. Alternatively, adding an AI tool could also help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
