**What do you like best about Gusto?**

I use Gusto for HR and benefits, and timekeeping, and I love how it solves the problem of decentralization of the employee benefit and work experience. It's fun and serves as a one-stop hub for all my needs whenever I have benefit questions. The interface is just great; it's lighthearted but powerful. I find the usability and fun atmosphere appealing. The time tracking and auditing of my timecard are very easy, and I can manage my HSA account very easily while also handling claims. The initial setup was very easy with little to no roadblocks, making it a smooth experience.

**What do you dislike about Gusto?**

The mobile app has some limitations compared to the desktop website. It would be easier and quicker if there were more options to type in your time rather than using the 'rolling' numbers option.

**What problems is Gusto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gusto solves the decentralization of employee benefits and work experience. It is a one-stop hub for benefit questions and makes time tracking easy. The interface supports easy management of HSA accounts and claims.

Gusto provides the comfort of an easy-to-use payroll system backed by excellent customer service. Everything is simple to navigate, and finding employee benefits is quick and stress-free. The platform keeps payroll and benefits management much easier and more organized overall.

Gusto delivers an outstanding level of performance, with pricing that feels excellent for all the options and features they provide. Their AI intelligence is next level, constantly adapting and improving to make payroll, benefits, and overall workforce management easier and more efficient. The platform is user-friendly and reliable, and the strong customer service makes it a great experience.

This company has saved me countless hours each week. The biggest benefit for me is the ease of use, along with the outstanding customer service I’ve received. What initially drew me in was the seamless integration within the app for benefits, time off, scheduling, documents, taxes, and W-2s—all in one place. With great customer service and an easy payroll system, Gusto creates a smooth, reliable experience for both employers and employees.

**What do you dislike about Gusto?**

The one thing I like least is that changing an employee’s hours or pay can take several steps, rather than offering a simple dropdown or a quicker edit option. A more streamlined process for making quick adjustments would make the platform even better.

**What problems is Gusto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used to struggle with pay periods and, honestly, just getting employees paid in general. Now, with Gusto, it’s as easy as clicking a button, and that has helped ensure paychecks are correct and the right taxes are withheld.

**What do you like best about Gusto?**

What I like the most, payment says it will be available in 1-5 business days, I live and Honduras and once my boss has submitted my payment, I receive it directly to my bank account in 1 business day. 

It has a flat rate of 1.50%, although I think it’s high, I’ve send higher rates.

**What do you dislike about Gusto?**

There’s no option for you to use PayPal, only a bank account, they should integrate other options and lower charging rates such as the 1.50% they charge for each payment received.

**What problems is Gusto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There was some cases on where they charged additional fees, but it was returned to my account so I’m glad they are honest about that.

Also I think customer support should be a bit faster. 

Also whenever I use Gusto on my phone and go to a different tab, it always logs me out. Even if it was just for a couple of seconds.

**What do you like best about Gusto?**

I like Gusto's payroll feature the most because it allows me to change my preferences without bothering HR. I also like seeing my benefits all at once, which is valuable for privacy reasons. The initial setup of Gusto was simple and very easy.

What doesn't work is it's hard to see my estimated paycheck through the app versus online. I would like that to be easier. I need to go through multiple steps to be able to see this information.

I use Gusto for payroll, performance reviews, and scheduling. I like the payroll feature the most because I can change my preferences without having to bother HR. Seeing all my benefits at once is also valuable for privacy concerns. Knowing my medical benefits and my time off policy is easily accessible is a relief. I want to know who I am insured with and be able to see my policies easily. I like tracking goals and being able to see important documents such as benefits and performance reviews.

**What do you like best about Gusto?**

What I like best about Gusto is how intuitive and organized the platform is for managing payroll, employee information, and benefits all in one place. The user interface is very clean and easy to navigate, which makes day-to-day tasks much faster compared to other systems I’ve used in the past.

One of the most helpful features is the payroll automation and employee self-service functionality. Running payroll is simple, reliable, and saves a significant amount of administrative time each pay period. Employees can easily access pay stubs, tax documents, and benefits information without needing constant assistance from HR or management.

Gusto also integrates well with accounting and expense management tools, which helps streamline financial reporting and reconciliation processes. The onboarding process for new employees is straightforward, and the platform provides a smooth overall experience for both administrators and employees.

Another big advantage is the customer support and overall reliability of the system. Whenever we’ve had questions or needed assistance, the support team has been responsive and helpful. Overall, Gusto has improved efficiency, reduced manual work, and simplified payroll and HR management for our organization.

One aspect I dislike about Gusto is that some advanced reporting and customization features can feel somewhat limited, especially for organizations with more complex operational or accounting needs. While the platform works very well for standard payroll and HR management, there are times when generating highly detailed or customized reports requires additional manual work outside the system.

Another area that could be improved is the responsiveness of certain features during peak payroll periods, as occasional delays or extra loading time can happen. In addition, while the integrations are generally useful, some third-party connections could offer deeper functionality and more flexibility for syncing data automatically.

Gusto is solving several time-consuming administrative and payroll management challenges for our organization. Before using the platform, many HR and payroll tasks required more manual tracking, follow-ups, and coordination between different systems. Gusto centralizes payroll, employee records, onboarding, benefits, and tax documentation into a single platform, which has significantly improved efficiency and organization.

One of the biggest benefits has been reducing the amount of manual work required for payroll processing and employee management. Automated payroll calculations, tax filings, and direct deposit features help minimize errors and save valuable time every pay cycle. What I like best about Gusto
 is how simple and organized it makes payroll and HR. The platform is really easy to use, even for people without a payroll background, and a lot of the manual work is automated — things like payroll runs, tax filings, onboarding paperwork, and employee self-service.

I also like having everything in one place instead of juggling multiple systems for payroll, onboarding, benefits, and time tracking. The employee onboarding experience is smooth, and employees can easily access pay stubs, tax forms, and personal info on their own.

Overall, it saves a lot of time and reduces the usual payroll/admin headaches while still feeling modern and user-friendly.

**What do you dislike about Gusto?**

One downside is that customer support can be hit or miss, especially when dealing with more complicated payroll or tax issues. For basic things it’s usually fine, but resolving more detailed problems can sometimes take longer than expected. Some features, like reporting and customization, also feel a bit limited once your company starts growing or has more complex needs.

Pricing can also add up over time as you add employees or extra HR features, and there are occasional interface updates that make workflows less intuitive than before. Overall the platform works really well for straightforward payroll, but there’s definitely room for improvement in support responsiveness and advanced functionality.

**What problems is Gusto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gusto is mainly solving the problem of managing payroll, taxes, onboarding, and HR tasks manually across multiple systems. Before using it, a lot of those processes were more time-consuming and easier to mess up — especially payroll taxes, employee paperwork, and keeping everything organized.
The biggest benefit has been saving time and reducing stress around payroll and compliance. Payroll runs are mostly automated, tax filings are handled for us, and onboarding new employees is much smoother since documents, direct deposit setup, and tax forms are all centralized in one place. It’s also helpful having employees manage their own pay stubs and tax documents without needing HR to send everything manually. 
Another benefit is that everything is integrated — payroll, benefits, PTO tracking, and onboarding all work together instead of needing separate tools or spreadsheets. That’s made day-to-day admin work a lot more efficient and has helped reduce errors and back-and-forth communication.

**What do you like best about Gusto?**

I enjoy being able to see how many hours the associates are working in real time and not having to guess. I like being notified when people haven't taken a break. I also like that my associates can use Gusto as a debt account, which helps with saving cash and seeing predicted earnings based on submitted timesheets. The initial setup was really easy because I had used the platform at another company, so it was a smooth transition. I also enjoy using Gusto with Gemini, as I have no problems with that.

**What do you dislike about Gusto?**

Sometimes the group schedule doesn't load, and as a manager, I have to grab my laptop to do my schedule instead of doing it on an iPad or iPhone. I'm forced to actually grab my laptop. i also dislike how the website will go dowmm for hours

Gusto simplifies scheduling across locations, enabling me to manage hours efficiently. I can track associate hours in real-time, ensuring part-timers don't exceed 35 hours, and receive break notifications. My team can save money and forecast earnings easily.

What’s most helpful about Gusto is that it basically takes all the headache out of payroll and HR and puts everything in one place. It automates payroll, handles the tax filings, and keeps you compliant without you having to stay on top of every little detail

The time‑keeping features are accurate and easy for our team to use, which has made managing multiple shifts much smoother. Running payroll is incredibly simple and saves us a significant amount of time each pay period.  Onboarding through Gusto is also one of the easiest ways to ensure all of the necessary signatures and documents are done.

**What do you dislike about Gusto?**

We recently switched from using Quickbooks for accounting to another application not supported by Gusto, therefore, we are seeking ways to pull reports for payroll into the new accounting software.

**What problems is Gusto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gusto has reduced the time spent on processing payroll by over four hours for our bi-weekly pay dates. It also provides great reporting for reviewing employee hours, state taxes paid via Gusto, and managing benefits.  We are also impressed with the ease in which employees can clock in and clock out as well as see their hours on the app, thus reducing the amount of questions revolving around hours and pay.

**What do you like best about Gusto?**

I love the notifications I get to my phone about when I get paid and what my check is. I am an hourly employee, so my paycheck changes by the week and it is nice to be notified. I also really appreciated how easy it was to onboard at my new job. I didn't have to fill out any paperwork and Gusto was even able to transfer my account and routing numbers just by signing into my bank account on the site.

**What do you dislike about Gusto?**

I am not sure yet. I have only had it for about a month. There hasn't been anything specific to come up for me yet that I dislike. The only thing is a personal preference -- Gusto asked for my pronouns. I believe that shouldn't be relevant to banking/payroll. Personal opinion though.

I like how easy Gusto is to navigate and how simple it is to add my administrative information. Integrating my bank account was effortless, and the on-demand pay option has been wonderful. Logging in is fast and straightforward, and setting up and onboarding my information was just as easy—I was finished within five minutes. 

I haven’t paid anything into Gusto myself, but it’s worth every penny my employer spends. I haven’t used any of the AI features yet, but I’m sure they’re great. I also really appreciate the schedule-drafting feature because it saves me time; I can enter everything and hold off on publishing until I’m sure it’s ready. Overall, I genuinely appreciate how easy Gusto is to use and navigate.

**What do you dislike about Gusto?**

I believe Gusto is a great product. I would prefer a tab on the UI to navigate to my schedule.

**What problems is Gusto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gusto has solved my paycheck-tracking problems. It makes it easy for me to track my income throughout the year, which is something I haven’t been able to get from another application before.

**What do you like best about Gusto?**

Very user friendly with helpful guidance regarding state and federal policies and procedures. User App is attractive and easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Gusto?**

The geolocation features could use some attention. I entered all of our current work locations and assigned employees to their designated sites. During our first week using Gusto, many employees reported that Gusto wasn’t registering their location accurately, and they had to override the app’s warning. I adjusted the geolocation radius for each site to the maximum (1,000,000 sqft), but many of our locations still aren’t being found accurately.

Additionally, the time clock settings aren’t conducive for companies with overnight shifts. Many of my employees work 5pm to 1am, and if someone has a time punch issue, I have to make two corrections for the same shift instead of adjusting the dates to match their time in a single transaction. For example, if someone forgets to clock out at 1am, I have to clock them out of their original time punch at 11:59pm and then create an additional time entry from 12:00am to 1am on the following day. When setting the schedule, there’s an option to adjust the DATE and the TIME in one operation, so I’m confused as to why that same capability isn’t available in time tracking.

**What problems is Gusto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used ADP payroll services before Gusto and the biggest complaint we had was all of the additional fees and charges for every little adjustment, payroll discrepancy or unexpected payout. They charged fees for everything! We like that Gusto rolls most of its perks into packages that can be customized according to our companies needs.

**What do you like best about Gusto?**

I enjoy that the self-serve features are truly the best aspect; employees can go into the system and obtain their own pay statements and update their tax documents with out having to have the company/HR department involved. This is literally perfect as a break from a long workday. In addition gusto also makes processing payroll easy as all taxes are automatically filed and I am no longer spending hours each week manually calculating things and also the ability to "delegate" tasks through approval levels is very good as different managers can complete different types of responsibilities such as time off and attendance corrections, etc.

**What do you dislike about Gusto?**

Navigation is a problem. Finding even something as simple as an employee pay statement is buried 3 menus deep for no apparent reason and i find myself growing tired of this quickly. Load times are slow (especially if we are pulling large amounts of data). Chat support is hit or miss; sometimes you get someone who actually knows what he/she is doing and other times you are waiting for what feels like an eternity for him/her to look-up the answer to your question that you were looking for. No workflow notification exists for termination of employees; which, i would say is a big oversight.

**What problems is Gusto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Gusto we had multiple systems handling payroll, benefits, time tracking, etc which made it difficult to track and manage information but with gusto, we have one platform for all of our needs and therefore we are no longer require to constantly jump between platforms and enter the same information multiple times. Additionally, Gusto handles multi-state tax issues which was a major headache for us in the past and is now simply taken care of.

**What do you like best about Gusto?**

Not only does Gusto have a clean interface that makes navigating through employee benefits and time tables easy, but they also don't make you go through hoops when needing to edit or change things such as tax forms or address updates. Even in a rush, I know I'll be able to log in to Gusto with one click, and easily clock-in to my shift without needing to hunt for anything. I'm someone who is often forgetful, but Gusto having a direct link to your FSA information and balances is incredible for helping with my finances. It has helped our company integrate with our other platforms and software for billing and healthcare, and runs smoothly every time. There are very few times I've had to reach out to support, but they always answered quickly and with a response that actually answered my questions. Gusto seems to offer great pricing and incentives not only to employers, but has great benefits for employees too! I also really appreciate the AI breakdowns for monthly spending, as it combines right into my paycheck.

**What do you dislike about Gusto?**

I would love for the Gusto app to allow for clocking in-and-out. As it is, this seems to only be available on the desktop page, which is not always convenient. Although rare, there may be times where I'm on the go and needing to switch from, say, my lunch time and into PTO or to clock out. Gusto makes payroll so much easier - it allows me to track location via device GPS for hours on the clock, then I can review the hours and breaks and approve any time off requests. All PTO benefits and healthcare are all synced and I can submit payroll in 5 minutes! Then all the tax forms are automated and submitted by Gusto. I've been using it for over 6 years and it has been amazing for my small medical office.

Sometimes the process of onboarding or dismissing an employee is a little bit involved, but with phone support and chat support and the ability to share my screen with tech support they have been able to walk me through it every time.

I now have a completely seamless process that saves me hours of frustration over quickbooks payroll. I have my work comp insurance, health insurance, payroll all synced together. It deducts from my bank account and direct deposits to the employees flawlessly. I don't even have to do Worker's Comp premium audits any more since they already have access to actual wages and hours worked along with the tax forms.

Gusto is very easy to navigate. My team can submit onboarding forms and timesheets, request sick time and vacation, and I can manage payroll and benefits. It also makes it simple to merge payroll with the 401K system. Overall, it’s a very user-friendly system.

There have been times when I’ve underpaid or overpaid certain tax items. These issues do get remedied eventually, but I worry that there may be things not being caught that I don’t even know about. I rely on the Gusto team to reduce errors, and when mistakes do happen, I expect them to be very minimal and infrequent.

The platform is incredibly easy for anyone to be able to stand up in a day or two at most with little knowledge.

The pricing is super competitive for smaller teams and startup environments. Making it some of the best value in this space.

It has strong integration capability with many other platforms organizations might use like microsoft, g suite, training, and background checks.

Expense reimbursements, time off, performance reviews, and reporting are easy to work in and you can do periodic pulse surveying as well.

Not being able to integrate contractors into the expense reimbursement space is a small miss as it would make it easier as you are paying your employees to use a similar structure for contractors. 

Getting a broker integrated into the platform can have some occasional headaches, but having benefits done manually is also easy.

It has automated so many tasks under one platform that we used to use multiple solutions for in the past. The performance and service is generally on the upper end for the same or similar platforms and they continue to iterate improvements over the past several years.

It's UX is SO intuitive and easy. Easy to navigate all necessary information via one convenient online portal. Just very simple and intuitive is probably the number one thing I've loved about working in Gusto ALL of these years. I also appreciate that it integrates with other platforms, such as When I Work, which makes time tracking and payroll a breeze. I've not personally utilized the performance metric capabilities, but it's great that it's an option.

Transitioning between health insurance providers is clunky. Yes, Gusto handles the process, but there are frequently delays and occasionally missed premium calculations or withdrawals. Gusto also doesn't do a great job of ensuring accurate information is provided to remotely-distributed teams about what health plans cover which states. Also, Gusto is one of the more expensive platforms if you wrap up all the services in one. RIght now, it's cheaper for us to use a separate time tracking tool, because although Gusto has the capability to track time, for the number of employees we have, it's very expensive.

I love how Gusto consolidates everything by keeping all our documents in one place, making it easy for me and my employees to retrieve important documents like W-2s and pay stubs. The user interface is amazing and very easy to navigate through, which makes managing taxes and adjusting settings straightforward. I also appreciate how Gusto helps with payroll and tracks sick days and vacations automatically, taking over tasks that would otherwise require dedicated staff. It's also great that employees can have insight into their own paychecks and financial details through Gusto, with everything integrated seamlessly including a Gusto debit card and account funds management. This integration bridge makes it more in-depth and user-connected.

**What do you dislike about Gusto?**

The only thing I could say that could be improved was that we were trying to get the health insurance attached to Gusto, and we ran into problems with it. And, obviously, we have a time period where you have to apply for health insurance. So when we tried to contact support, it was the support that was kind of lacking where they, like, they were saying were gonna get back to us, and it was getting dragged out. It would have been nice that there would have been, like, a faster response. We ended up having to contact the health insurance outside of Gusto. And had to set it up this year independently because Gusto wasn't reacting enough, and we didn't wanna get, like, penalized for not having health insurance. So it was that was a little bit, an inconvenience.

Payroll has taken at least a half day of my week and I have always second guessed myself as well. Gusto simply does payroll. With Gusto direct deposits are automatic, tax filings are automatic and employee records are kept within Gusto. Additionally the reporting through Gusto is very helpful as I am able to generate reports of time-off balances or payroll summary reports without knowing how to write code or anything else.

**What do you dislike about Gusto?**

I found the process of setting up some of the additional benefits options to be more confusing than they needed to be. It seemed like I had to search around to find things that were much more obvious. I would say that the mobile app works okay, however it seems to freeze occasionally and will randomly log me out while I am working on something and it's frustrating when you are trying to approve something and get logged out.

**What problems is Gusto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My biggest headache was doing payroll in Excel and hoping I did everything right so that I wouldn't screw up anyone's taxes. Gusto eliminated that headache. They do payroll automatically and file the taxes for me. All of our employees' information is stored in one location and they can look at their own pay stubs and time off without sending me emails every five minutes and honestly that last point alone made it worthwhile.

Gusto has been a super easy, affordable way for me too complete payroll activities for my one part time employee.  I've also had great experiences with their customer service team on the several occasions that I've reached out.  They helped me to set up multiple pay options for this employee and have answered questions about how to integrate with Next Insurance.  I can also run payroll easily from anywhere using the Gusto app.  I've already recommended to one colleague, who signed up, and I appreciated the referral bonus from Gusto for spreading the word!

**What do you dislike about Gusto?**

I really have no complaints.  The only thing I think I've found confusing at some points has been the reporting features, but honestly, I think this has more to do with my frequency of use rather than system features.  In general, I find it to be very intuitive and user friendly.

I like that Gusto automatically files the W-2s and 1099s, along with the quarterly tax forms. Another big upside is their chat program: I’ve received very helpful, detailed advice through chat when I needed support. Gusto also tracks benefits, and some benefits can be obtained through Gusto as well.  The time tracking system is visually easy to use and payroll takes me about five minutes to submit.  I like that Gusto tracks the onboarding tasks when a new person is added; also that if backpay is owed to a past employee, I can go under "Dismissed" people and still perform this action.  The pricing is easy to understand and very reasonable.

**What do you dislike about Gusto?**

When I go to perform dismissal payroll, even if I have approved the hours in time tracking, it does not seem to bring that information over.  Yet there is a way to go into Reports and locate a time tracking report to get that information.

I like that I can create multiple savings accounts in my account so I can have one for Electric bill, Rent, groceries, etc. It makes budgeting super easy and efficient, especially for my ADHD brain. It's nice having my payroll info super accessible and all of ,y bank stuff in the same app. I absolutely love it.

I wish I could add more savings goals/accounts and not have to talk to support to close one out. Sometimes things come out of attached accounts and I can't lock access to it because it doesn't work like a card. I mainly use Gusto to log in, track my hours, track my pay, and access my benefits. Gusto makes it easier for me to track my hours instead of manually doing it myself. I like that Gusto allows me to get an estimate of my paycheck before payday, which helps me plan ahead for paying bills. I'm able to access it at any time of the day, which is so convenient, as I don't have to wait till the next business day to ask my HR department questions that can be answered through the app. The initial setup was smooth and easy to navigate, making it simple to create an account and access all of my details. Overall, everything about it—from tracking hours to accessing benefits—is straightforward and efficient.

I think the only thing that can be improved is that sometimes the Gusto server is down and I have to re-login. When the server is down, I’m not able to login from any device to clock in or clock out, which means I have to put in a time correction through my employer, which can be a pain in the butt sometimes.

I really appreciate how well they handled the onboarding process for my employees as we opened our fixed location and grew our staff.  I also appreciate how simple the process is for me to upload hours and tip information directly from my POS system.  The integration between the two systems is seamless. I have used other payroll software and spent way too much of my time entering in detailed information that Gusto does for me and for the price it is totally worth it.   I also appreciate how intuitive the interface feels.  It seems to know what I need to do before I do it and has simple options for selecting the items I need to make sure I have completed.  We are a small business and I am busy with so many other I don't always have the time to do some of the tedious tasks that Gusto handles for me, filing all of my tax documents, withholding the appropriate amounts from their checks, even keeping me updated as to exactly when and how much they will pull from my business account to cover payrolls is a great feature.

I honestly haven't found any downsides.  I mean I am only a couple of months in so maybe I just haven't found the one thing that may frustrate me in the future, but so far so good.

Gusto is very easy to use and makes running payroll and the other administrative details of my small business less intimidating. It's affordable for my size of business (me, one employee and one contractor) and will continue to be affordable as we grow. I like that I'll be able to add other benefits (like healthcare) in the future as we grow.

Some of the workflows are not intuitive, like if I go to run Payroll it says one of my employee's timesheet says "zero," when it should really say something not "0, not approved yet — approve before running payroll?" 
Other than some small quirks like this it's a great tool. I also love that it integrates with Quickbooks, though I find it frustrating that some of the fields do not map / use the same language across platforms. Onboarding was simple, took a few hours and we have had no issues since setup.

Gusto saves me time and gives me confidence that I'm doing the things I need to do as a small business owner who is definitely NOT an HR professional. It has given me the confidence to bring on my first W2 employee which was a huge threshold we needed to cross before I could continue to grow my business. It's great that they handle all of my tax payments both quarterly for state and federal, so I don't have to figure out the tax payments on my own. The interface of Gusto is very intuitive. I appreciate that there are notifications that remind me to do payroll, submit forms, and call out when I might be eligible for a tax credit due to my specific circumstances. I hae been incredibly pleased by how much Gusto handles for me, putting me at ease when it was time to do my taxes. I appreciate and have valued the Guideline integration as well as I am a solo entrepreneur and hadn't the first idea where to go to start a 401K. I have tried Wave, and Quicken and Gusto is hands down the easiest to use and the most reliable. I did have one one issue where my state tax did not get submitted on time. I received a notice in the mail with a fee. I easily found how to submit a report to customer services who promptly shared that they had fixed the issue and would be issuing me a credit for the small late fee I had incurred. The UI feels very streamlined, and the menus are smooth to navigate. While I haven’t been able to interact with any AI portions of the tool yet, the performance metrics are easy to access and review. Onboarding paperwork was kept in easy-to-find places, and I was able to download tax documents without any issues.

The app is missing an easily accessible menu. Personally, I’d prefer the time off section to be available as a button in the app, the same way it is on the web, because that would make the overall employee experience better.

Gusto is helpful because it keeps everything in one place, whereas our previous system handled payroll and documentation in separate applications. Having it all together makes the process much more streamlined, especially compared with other payroll and time-tracking software I’ve interacted with.

The user interface is very intuitive and does not overcomplicate navigation functions or information layouts. Even without any formal training, I was easily able to locate any information I needed without having to search through multiple links. I also appreciate the additional suggested options available to users under the Benefits section, such as third-party insurances offered at a discount that can be taken directly out of my check, and I actually took advantage of the pet insurance through the Lemonade offer for my dog Arlo!

**What do you dislike about Gusto?**

My only dislikes about Gusto relate to the Pay features and tracking. It would be nice if the "Track paycheck status" and "View upcoming checks" features actually displayed future pay information instead of just looping back to each other on the same two pages. Not sure if this is an isolated flaw due to the way my company's Gusto profile is set up, but this would be a great feature I would use regularly if it worked. Also, I once again don't know if this is just a "my company" thing or all of Gusto, but it would be nice if paychecks were distributed at the start of the determined pay day (9AM) instead of at the close of day (5PM).

**What problems is Gusto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a small business of <5, Gusto has been integral in our time and pay tracking, as this was previously being recorded manually in spreadsheets on a daily and bi-weekly basis. No with the clock function, lunch break and time off tracking, and integrated payroll (previously we had to outsource these numbers to ADP), we don't have to spend any time or resources on tracking these numbers and have higher confidence in their accuracy.

The Gusto platform is so easy to use.  I have used ADP and Paychex and they are so unnecessarily complex, and this is coming from someone who has a payroll and HR background. Gusto is so easy that even a small business owner with no previous experience processing payroll could handle it.  The layout is very user friendly. The software basically walks you through everything step-by-step.  I can run payroll in a flash.  And onboarding is also super fast.  It sends the new employee a welcome message and reminders about documents they need for their I-9 and notifies other staff that a new employee is coming on board.   It reminds you about birthdays and anniversaries for staff as well.  And you cannot beat Gusto's price. I highly recommend.

**What do you dislike about Gusto?**

Honestly, nothing is really bad about it. I cannot think of anything negative.

I love that Gusto allows employees to change their clock-ins on their own. Tracking paychecks is one wonderful perk, but the best part is the savings goals feature. With the paycheck tracker, I know ahead of time what to expect from my upcoming paycheck, and it's nice to see the amount I'm receiving without having to check my bank account. The savings goals feature is one of the best I've come across in an employee app. It's incredibly easy to set up a savings goal that not only takes money out directly from my paycheck but also accrues interest. The ability to name goals and create multiple savings goals is an incredible feature. Additionally, the initial setup was extremely simple, and I was signed up and an employee via Gusto before my company even added me to their internal systems.

**What do you dislike about Gusto?**

There should be an 'other' option available when requesting time off for situations that do not fall into a specific category. Also, if the comment needed to adjust the time clock ins and outs could be optional instead of required that would be helpful to some in certain situations

Gusto keeps track of all employees in one spot, preventing miscommunication and calculation errors. It allows employees to change their clock-ins on their own, tracks paychecks, and supports savings goals with ease.

Gusto offers a great interface for time tracking and expense tracking. I can track my team’s hours easily each pay cycle, and I’m also able to adjust hours or fix clock-in mistakes without any hassle. They offer some great features as well, like Gusto Wallet and the Spending Account. For a small business like ours (less than 11 employees), it provides robust payroll infrastructure in a format that saves us time. I can’t emphasize enough how user-friendly it is—our employees can download the app and start using it right away with ease.

It is very easy to use, even for people that are not fond of technology. It has good integrations with Google workplace and Slack. I never had a technical issue or problem about the platform's performance. The support team is always eager to help although they can sometimes take quite some time to help us with our issues. Price wise, I think that it is an economic option for many companies that are getting started.

**What do you dislike about Gusto?**

Unfortunately, we needed to move to a bigger provider that allowed better PEO Healthcare plans for our employees. With Gusto we were stuck with UnitedHealthcare and many employees were having issues with it. I had to manually externalize through a broker to obtain Anthem BC, and then this year we decided to move to Rippling to get access to Kaiser and Aetna.

Everything is in one place such as payroll, on-boarding, benefits, time tracking and so no need to jump between three tabs with three different logins trying to remember which password you used and that alone is worth it. Also the support team also are genuinely good people who respond fast and follow through. When i had questions taking over payroll duties, someone was there.

**What do you dislike about Gusto?**

Reporting is the weak spot and as I need one clean report but instead i’m downloading two or three reports and combining them in excel which is annoying when clearly all of the data exists in there somewhere. The LMS side is bare and doesn’t even show the right answer if someone fails a question which is a weird thing to leave out.

**What problems is Gusto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Processing payroll manually took time that i did not have. Gusto has taken care of it all. Onboarding new hires go through a paperless process and i no longer have to hold their hands throughout the entire process and also mployee records and time tracking are integrated together so if a new hire starts or a previous hire leaves; nothing will fall through the cracks.

I like having multiple customer service options—chat, email support, and a phone number. Response times range from immediate to within 24 hours, which is much quicker than our previous provider. Navigating the product is intuitive and quick to maneuver through. Onboarding new hires is a breeze and can easily tell where the employee is in the process.

**What do you dislike about Gusto?**

I wish it were available in Spanish. About 30% of our employees are much more comfortable managing systems in Spanish, and it would save me time if I didn’t have to translate so much.

**What problems is Gusto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Importing hours for field employees is a real time-saver. The provided template is easy to use, and the system integrates my payroll data smoothly without requiring me to make adjustments. Time-off accrual and tracking have been accurate, and it’s been simple for employees to manage and review their available balances. Overall, employees feel more comfortable using Gusto than our previous provider to track their time, request PTO, upload company expenses, and download pay stubs. They can find what they need quickly and easily through the app.

It's really easy to use, and I don't have to do payroll manually, which is a big plus. I also really enjoy the fact that my accountant can access it and work without trouble. The reminders and due dates when tasks are due are fantastic. Best thing for me is how I can access it on any platform and os. Customer service is great as well!

When I try to use the Gusto app on my iPad, it doesn’t display properly, so I end up logging in through the browser instead. At times, I also get ads to try other software or applications that work with Gusto, which I think come from the recommendations section. Overall, I don’t have many dislikes; we’re a small company, and I suspect other issues may come up as the company grows.

It makes payroll easier and helps me keep track of when everyone gets paid. The best part is that it reminds me when tasks are due, and I can make changes to employees and other things effortlessly.

One of the biggest benefits for us has been employee onboarding. Being able to send everything digitally, and having employees enter their own information, has saved a ton of back-and-forth. The interface is clean and intuitive, and I appreciate that it doesn’t feel overly “corporate” or complicated. It’s obvious it was designed with small business owners in mind—people who don’t have time to dig through confusing systems just to get new hires set up.  Being new to the company myself, it was easy to implement Gusto and I use it every week and customer support is great when I need them.

**What do you dislike about Gusto?**

If I had to offer one piece of feedback, it would be that some of the reporting features could be a bit more customizable. That said, overall it does everything we need it to do, and it does it really well.

It saves me time tracking time and attendance because I’m no longer entering time cards manually. It also handles all the payroll calculations for me, which makes the whole process much easier.

I really like the layout of the time tracking screen. It is easy to record my hours. I also like the notes section in there as well. I'm also impressed with the preformance of the app itself, as we have never had to deal with any bugs as long as I have worked here. Integration wise, I have heard other coworkers say using the banking Gusto offers is beneficial and very simple to use.

I don't really have any critiques for Gusto, but I would love to have unlocked cash flow without setting up an account.

I love that I can go in and edit my hours. I frequently forget to either login or log out and this allows me to post accurate hours for my company without the need to bother our human resources department. I love that I can go on any time and see my past hours worked, my past paycheck details, and my cumulative earnings. I love that there is a way to track paid time off, even though my company doesn't use this, if I were an employer I think this would be a great benefit to me. Gusto also has a great history of my time with my company. Sometimes when completing a variety of personal forms for various reasons, I need to know when my employment started. I can easily get that information from Gusto with a click of a button. Also, when my employer needs updated information about me it is so easy to jump into Gusto and quickly update the information online. Gusto takes me seconds in some cases and on a few minutes in others where it might take 30-60 minutes in other formats! I am forever grateful that my company uses Gusto, making my life as a employee so much easier. Everything moves so quickly on Gusto. Updates happen right away and I can click through multiple areas with ease if needed when completing payroll or forms. Our company has been with Gusto for several years. We made the move due to ease of use and cost effectiveness for a smaller company such as ours.

One area I think could be improved is the employee profile. Right now, it only allows the employer to make updates; however, I believe it would be helpful—especially for smaller companies like the one I work for—to allow employees to update their own profiles as well.  

Onboarding as an employee was quite easy also. There were helpful guides along the way where I could clarify what I needed to do if I had any questions.

Prior to using Gusto it was quite difficult to change our working hours if we forgot to login or log out. Gusto allows employees to handle that completely on their own without having to involve the payroll/HR department and without lengthy delays in the process.

One thing I wish wasn't the case is the difference in options in-browser vs in-app. There are a lot of features that I forget about because I mainly use the app, which leaves me underutilizing Gusto at times. There are a lot easier navigations in the options in-browser. Maybe it just seems like there are different features, but I was having a hard time finding PTO policy addition and other time-off type functions for my employees until I went to the browser.

**What do you like best about Gusto?**

I work for a small architectural firm and do everything that isn't architecture, so I wear a lot of hats and my time is at a premium. Having an intuitive interface makes running payroll and meeting all the federal and state tax requirements and filings very easy and stress free. The easy to use drag and drop interface make an intimidating process very simple for the non-HR professional.  I've been using the software for 4 years and have yet to run into any major issues with performance or speed.  The support has been excellent.  Generally, my issues are addressed with one call.  We don't currently use any of the integrations as the size of our firm doesn't really make it necessary.  The time using Gusto to run our payroll more than justifies the price and I think for the level of service and support we receive it is a great value for our firm. We have no plans to look for another payroll solution.

**What do you dislike about Gusto?**

One issue I have run into is lack of knowledge about our state tax requirements as they pertain to our principal who is the sole shareholder of the S Corp.  The first line support staff have not been able to address the problem we're having and I haven't been able to communicate directly with the second tier support staff.  It has resulted in incorrect filing and payment of one our state's taxes so I've had to request a refund of overpayments each year.

**What problems is Gusto solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I did not work for the firm prior to Gusto being implemented but having done payroll for my own business previously, I can attest to the fact that Gusto makes it very simple to do things quickly and efficiently.   Currently, we just use it to manage personnel and payroll but are looking at some of the integrations with benefits management for the future.
