## SAP ECC Reviews
  ### 1. SAP ECC: Unmatched Single Source of Truth with Rock-Solid Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Victor G. | Chief Information Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP ECC?**

What I value most about SAP ECC is its unparalleled ability to act as a single source of truth for the entire organization. The seamless integration between core modules like FI, MM, and SD ensures that data flows logically across departments in real-time. It provides a level of architectural robustness and transactional integrity that is essential for managing complex global operations and maintaining strict audit compliance at scale.

**What do you dislike about SAP ECC?**

The primary drawback is the steep learning curve and the dated user interface. Compared to modern SaaS applications, the SAP GUI feels unintuitive for new users, often requiring extensive training to navigate complex transaction codes. Additionally, the system can be quite rigid; making significant changes to established business processes or performing custom ABAP developments often involves long project timelines and high consultancy costs.

**What problems is SAP ECC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SAP ECC solves the critical problem of data fragmentation by consolidating our disparate business units into a single, integrated ERP environment. Before ECC, we struggled with 'data silos' where finance, procurement, and sales operated on different numbers.

The benefit to me is a massive increase in operational transparency and auditability. I can now trace a single finished product back to its raw material purchase order and its specific financial posting in seconds. This 'single source of truth' has eliminated manual reconciliation tasks and allowed us to standardize our global processes, ensuring that every region follows the same compliance and reporting standards.

  ### 2. Reliable System I Use Daily for Procurement and Vendor Management”

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amit B. | Global Buyer, Plastics, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP ECC?**

I like most about SAP ECC is its reliability in handling end-to-end procurement activities. In my current role as Global Buyer – Indirect Procurement at Ingenia Polymers & Chemicals, I use SAP ECC daily for creating and tracking purchase requisitions (PR), converting them into purchase orders (PO), and monitoring goods receipt (GRN).
I regularly use transactions like ME51N (PR creation), ME21N (PO creation), and ME23N (PO tracking). It gives clear visibility of order status, pending approvals, and vendor details in one place. Integration with finance also helps in tracking invoice status and payments, which makes coordination easier.

**What do you dislike about SAP ECC?**

I dislike about SAP ECC is that the interface is not very user-friendly, especially for new users. It takes time to learn different transaction codes and navigation. Also, generating customized reports is not very easy and often requires support from the technical team. Sometimes the system becomes slow when handling large data, which affects productivity.

**What problems is SAP ECC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SAP ECC solves the problem of managing procurement, inventory, and finance data in separate systems by bringing everything into one platform.
In my work, it helps in tracking complete procurement cycle from PR to PO to GRN and invoice. This reduces manual errors and improves data accuracy. It also helps in vendor evaluation, open PO tracking, and audit compliance.
Because of this, my daily work becomes more structured, and I can take faster decisions based on real-time data.

  ### 3. Comprehensive Integration, Needs UI Improvement

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abhishek B. | Accounts Receivable Specialist OTC, Consumer Goods, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP ECC?**

I really appreciate SAP ECC's comprehensive integration across business functions. The real-time reporting, robust finance and credit management capabilities, and centralized access to customer and transaction data make it a powerful tool for managing complex business processes efficiently. I also like the system's stability, detailed audit trails, and ability to handle large volumes of transactions. The drill-down functionality and comprehensive reporting make it easy to investigate account activity and support informed business decisions.

**What do you dislike about SAP ECC?**

The main areas for improvement are the user interface and ease of use. Navigation can be complex for new users, some processes require too many steps, and report customization is not always straightforward. A more modern and intuitive user experience would significantly improve productivity.

**What problems is SAP ECC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use SAP ECC to manage finance and order-to-cash processes. It solves disconnected business processes by integrating finance, sales, and customer management, improving visibility, automating tasks, reducing errors, and efficiently handling invoicing, collections, payments, and reporting.

  ### 4. Robust Integration and Seamless Data Handling with SAP ECC

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** arbaz h. | Sap Lead consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP ECC?**

I like SAP ECC's ability to integrate with various user interfaces, which has eased data sharing and improved the consistency of operations in comparison to older ERP systems. I appreciate the integrated environment it provides to various departments within an organization. The robustness, better user experience, and flexible solution capability of SAP ECC were also significant motivators for switching from our legacy system. Furthermore, SAP ECC has been instrumental in solving financial reporting issues, providing quality reports for audits, and assisting with inventory management and timely shipping of goods.

**What do you dislike about SAP ECC?**

When dealing with huge data records, the system may result in dumps, so it has to be handled very carefully. Also, ECC is mostly implemented for large business operations and is less cost-effective for smaller businesses.

**What problems is SAP ECC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SAP ECC resolves financial reporting issues, produces quality audit reports, aids in inventory management, and ensures timely shipping of goods. It helps plan and grow business effectively.

  ### 5. Robust Integration, Needs Modern UI

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** sagar i. | Sap mm consultant , Consulting, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP ECC?**

I like that SAP ECC offers strong integration across modules like MM, SD, and FI, ensuring seamless data flow and process consistency. Its ability to handle complex business scenarios with real-time visibility is a big plus. I also appreciate its robust customization options which make it highly reliable for enterprise operations. The integration across modules makes processes seamless, eliminates data silos, and reduces manual effort. SAP ECC improves accuracy and provides real-time visibility across the business, making operations more efficient and reliable.

**What do you dislike about SAP ECC?**

In SAP ECC, the UI is outdated, processes often require multiple transaction codes, and reporting is limited. The initial setup of SAP ECC is quite complex and time-consuming, especially for large organizations. The outdated user interface and limited flexibility in reporting compared to newer solutions slightly impact the overall experience.

**What problems is SAP ECC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use SAP ECC to manage procurement, inventory, and finance processes. It overcomes manual delays, inconsistent data, and limited inventory visibility. SAP ECC improves efficiency, accuracy, and provides real-time business insights, streamlining end-to-end processes and ensuring integration across modules like MM, SD, and FI.

  ### 6. Clunky SAP GUI and a Steep Learning Curve Hold ECC Back

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel D. | Global Director of Technology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP ECC?**

The "Holy Grail" of ECC is that it connects finance, sales, production, and human resources into a single source of truth. When a sales order is placed, the system automatically triggers inventory checks, updates the general ledger, and can even initiate production schedules. This eliminates the "silos" that often plague large organizations.

**What do you dislike about SAP ECC?**

Compared to modern SaaS applications or even SAP S/4HANA, the SAP GUI is often seen as clunky and non-intuitive. The learning curve for new employees is steep, and it lacks the "consumer-grade" feel that users expect in 2026.

**What problems is SAP ECC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Problem: Before ECC, departments like Finance, Manufacturing, and Sales often operated on separate systems, leading to conflicting data and manual reconciliation. The Benefit: By providing a single source of truth, it ensures that a transaction in one module (like a Goods Receipt in Materials Management) immediately reflects in another (like Accounts Payable in Finance). This results in massive time savings and reduces human error.

  ### 7. Seamless Integration of SAP ECC with BY TMS for Efficient End-to-End Operations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Md Umar F. | Integrated Logistics Operations Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP ECC?**

What I like most about SAP ECC in my daily operation is the strong integration between SD, MM, and FI, which helps keep business processes smooth and largely error-free.

In SD, I value the end-to-end Order-to-Cash cycle, where sales orders, deliveries, and billing are tightly connected and easy to track. In MM, the Procure-to-Pay process, together with real-time inventory updates, helps maintain accurate stock levels and supports efficient procurement. In FI, the automatic postings generated from SD and MM provide real-time financial accuracy without requiring manual intervention.

Overall, the biggest advantage for me is that a single transaction can ease of use and move seamlessly across modules, improving efficiency, transparency, and control.

**What do you dislike about SAP ECC?**

While SAP ECC is very powerful, one limitation I’ve noticed is that it can feel less user-friendly than newer systems, particularly when it comes to the interface and overall navigation.

In SD and MM, certain processes still require multiple steps across different transactions, which can slow users down and make day-to-day work feel more cumbersome. In FI, configuration and troubleshooting can be complex, often requiring deep technical knowledge to resolve issues efficiently. Reporting can also be less flexible at times unless you rely on additional tools.

**What problems is SAP ECC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SAP ECC helps address the challenge of disconnected business processes by offering strong integration across its modules and with external systems. In my case, it supports smooth integration with Blue Yonder (BY) TMS, enabling consistent, seamless data flow between SAP and the transportation system.

This integration strengthens shipment planning, cuts down on manual data entry, and reduces errors during logistics execution. It also improves visibility into orders, deliveries, and transportation status, which supports faster decision-making and better overall operational efficiency.

  ### 8. Backbone of ERP.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rakesh J. | Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP ECC?**

What I like about SAP ECC is that it gives a complete end-to-end integration of business processes within a single system. Modules like Finance, MM, SD, PP, and HR work together seamlessly, which helps organizations maintain data consistency and process efficiency.

**What do you dislike about SAP ECC?**

One thing I dislike about SAP ECC is that some parts of the system feel outdated compared to modern enterprise applications. Many traditional GUI-based transactions are not very user-friendly and require users to memorize transaction codes and navigation paths.

**What problems is SAP ECC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SAP ECC solves the problem of disconnected business operations inside an organization.

  ### 9. SAP ECC Unifies Core Processes with Real-Time Visibility

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** DEEPAK M. | Information Technology Specialist, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP ECC?**

The most about SAP ECC is its ability to integrate core business processes into a single platform. Key features include centralized data management, financial and operational integration, real-time reporting, and modules for finance, supply chain, HR, and procurement—helping improve efficiency, visibility, and process consistency.

**What do you dislike about SAP ECC?**

One area for improvement in SAP ECC is its complexity, as implementation and customization can be time-consuming and require specialized expertise. The user interface can also feel less intuitive compared to more modern enterprise platforms.

**What problems is SAP ECC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SAP ECC helps solve challenges related to managing disconnected business processes by integrating functions such as finance, procurement, inventory, and operations into a single system. This benefits users through improved process efficiency, better data visibility, reduced manual work, and more informed decision-making.

  ### 10. Efficient Multi-Product Linking, Needs Better Alert Features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dr. Mahmoud A. | Sr. Supervisor, QC, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP ECC?**

I like the feature of linking multiple products within the QM Module in SAP ECC. It's especially useful for me when I have multiple products loaded in different stability cabinets, as the QM module can link them easily using transaction code QM01. The initial setup of SAP ECC was very easy for my team.

**What do you dislike about SAP ECC?**

The most important thing I would like to be enhanced with SAP ECC is the notification alarm system for each interval.

**What problems is SAP ECC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SAP ECC automates our scheduling stability programs and easily links multiple products in the QM Module, improving workflow with transaction code QM01.
