With a larger organization this helps streamline multiple managers and leaders access to use funds while also implementing responsibility on them directly to complete transactions and be mindful of budgets.

**What do you dislike about BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy)?**

I dislike that you cannot restrict a user specifically for certain criteria on where they are allowed to spend and have to create a budget with set rules. It was difficult to create a budget without interrupting current roles and associated budgets. I specifically have physical cards for gas use and found it difficult to have a card with restrictions for someone who also needs to be a part of other budgets for virtual card use.

The biggest benefit has been keeping track of receipts and for users to be able to immediately upload a receipt has relieved the constant run around of trying to find lost receipts that leadership has been forced to hold on to while at conventions or out of the office.

**What do you like best about BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy)?**

I love that you can create digital or order physical cards for employees and easily assign budget amounts that start over monthly, or accrue. Our staff find it very convenient to use the app to take photos of receipts or forward receipts via email to Bill. I also love the cash back and the fact that it is free to use for the spend feature. We've used Bill/formerly Divy for about 5 years and haven't had any problems where we needed to contact support.

**What do you dislike about BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy)?**

Often receipts don't automatically match up when forwarding via email. Lyft has an integration with BILL, we wish it was the same for Uber.

**What problems is BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Previously we were using a standard Visa credit card and manually marrying receipts with charges, often chasing receipts from employees. Now, we are saving time by easily being able to add many staff members to Bill so they can be more independent in purchasing and managing their departments budget. Finance is very appreciate of the streamlining this has provided.

I like how easy it is to create and distribute cards. I also appreciate being able to control where each card can be used and how much it can spend. Having those controls in place helps ease my anxiety about having so many cards out there.  The team was very helpful with getting our account up and going. Although Divvy did not integrate with our ERP system, it is still really easy to put the charges in the ERP system.

Sometimes the budget function can be a bit confusing. I’ll think an employee has a certain amount allocated, but then their card gets declined for insufficient funds. After that, I have to go in and try to figure out why it shows they have a certain amount when, in reality, they don’t.

**What problems is BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking and more visibility into credit card spending.  With Amex we had no where to scan receipts, if we had to look into charges we would have to dig through files.

Its also helping with employees access to cards.  We had (1) company card that we had to share, where as with bill we are able to allocate cards to the different departments.

Performance efficiency for both admin & users across the board. Not having to recreate every transaction has made a world of difference. The excuse of lagging to submit expenses has been effectively cut down to almost none. The reminder feature on missing/aged items helps every time. Could not recommend Bill Spend & Expense enough.

I have heard many users report uploading receipts and later logging in to find the receipt is no longer in the transaction, and then they have already thrown away the receipt. I can't cite anything more than user error, but more than half of our users have reported this.

**What problems is BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am the sole person managing our 56+ card holders. Half of which work on the road and do not have the time to sit at a computer to put together a spreadsheet or report of their monthly expenses. The fact that this app works exactly like a regular banking app makes training for new users easy, and on the admin side, maintaining budgets and categories for each has made our month end reporting go from days to hours.

As someone managing financial reporting, the transaction management within BILL Spend & Expense is excellent. The interface makes it incredibly straightforward to review, classify, and reclassify transactions on the fly. The AI-powered features for recurring expense allocation are highly effective, significantly speeding up the process and cutting down on repetitive manual entry. Additionally, the native integration with Sage Intacct is a major benefit for my workflow. Having expense data flow directly between the systems improves overall visibility and directly supports a faster, more organized month-end close process...

**What do you dislike about BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy)?**

While the Sage Intacct integration is vital for us, the sync can occasionally experience slight delays during high-volume periods, which sometimes requires a manual refresh to ensure everything updates in real time. Also, while the AI allocation handles recurring expenses well, it can occasionally misinterpret unique, one-off vendor charges that resemble existing rules, meaning a thorough manual review is still necessary. Expanding the customization capabilities for complex, multi-entity reporting within the dashboard would also be a great improvement.

We were previously dealing with a highly manual expense reconciliation process that delayed our financial reporting. BILL has solved this by automating the pipeline from the initial transaction straight through to Sage Intacct. This has drastically reduced human error in our account assignments, provided our team with real-time visibility into overall company spend, and shaved critical days off our month-end close timeline.

BILL Spend & Expense is very easy to use.  Having our general ledger account codes and fund groups set up in the system make it very easy for staff to code their expenses in real time.  The ease of uploading receipts is also a huge benefit.

**What do you dislike about BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy)?**

At this point we don't really have many dislikes.  Sometimes when you email receipts to the receipts email address to have the receipt automatically attached to a charge it sometimes doesn't recognize a match.  Even when the amount is in the email.  That can be frustrating at times.

**What problems is BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having staff code their expenses in real time.  Uploading and sending in receipts when the charges occur.  In the past it took staff a long time to code.  BILL has eliminated the manual process of coding expense that we used to have and saves us time.

The only thing I hate is my limit on my Bill Divvy card for example a few weeks ago Bill divvy asked me do want a increase from $7,000 to $10,000 I wrote back and said yes then a week later Bill Divvy send me other email stating that my limited is going to be decrease to $7,000 and I just got the increase, why even bother giving me a increase in the first place very confusing

I find BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy) very user-friendly, which makes it easy to navigate. It has made my expense reporting much easier, especially with the ability to upload receipts and categorize expenses at the moment of purchase. As an admin, I appreciate the ability to see all transactions of other cardholders. The app is very easy to set up and allows me to assign budgets, request new cards, and block cards easily. Everything feels easy and smooth.

Maybe having clear instructions of how things work between the app and the web page. I tried updating the bank account used to pay the card on the web page, but it turns out the change had to be completed in the app. I only figured that out after spending some time trying to finish the update.

Appreciate being able to see credit card charges as soon as they happen while giving staff the ability code and approve electronically.  AI receipt matching is a time-savers. Being able to sync into our accounting software is a great feature. $0 pricing access and rewards without service fees. Support has always been helpful in resolving issues

Inability to sync charges with accounting software without locking for editing  (when approval or receipt upload is pending).  Also admin not able to approve charges when not the manager.

Real time reporting of credit card charges instead of waiting for statement.  Ability to control cards directly without needing customer service assistance. Creates efficiency for accounting staff and is easy to use for card holders

I like that it automatically enters the invoice for you, which saves time. It also deducts lump sums from the bank account, making it easier to plan and budget. And the line of credit extended to us is helpful whenever we need larger amounts to cover big bills.

The reports aren’t very intuitive. When I need to look back and see when a payment went out and who was included on that payment, it’s possible to find in Bill, but it takes a few minutes to figure out where to look.

I like that it pulls the full payment amount from our bank account all at once. I also appreciate that it includes approval levels and helps save time.

I like how BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy) allows us to control expenses and see an overall picture of the spend for vendors. It's great for managing how much is spent on travel and expense reimbursements to employees. Everything is in one place, which makes it very convenient for managing multiple clients. I appreciate that it integrates with our accounting system, making it easier for the accounts team to use. The ease of use extends to vendors and employees too, especially on the travel and expense side.

**What do you dislike about BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy)?**

I find the receipt capture needs improvement, especially when dealing with larger merchants or payers. It's kinda difficult sometimes to gather all the receipts for spending expenses. It would be great if the travel features for booking flights, cars, and hotels were all in one place. Also, the system itself should link directly to our accounting system, instead of requiring us to manually add the chart of accounts. It should just grab those charts of accounts directly from the accounting system.

I find BILL Spend & Expense easy to use both on the platform and the app, and I love the amazing flexibility with the card controls. It's great that I can assign a card to any employee or volunteer with any spending limit, which means I don't need to constantly process reimbursements. It's super convenient to just turn off a card when an employee leaves or a project is completed. Plus, the ability to program certain cards for specific recurring expenses saves me time from having to do it manually. The initial setup was very easy, thanks to the friendly staff who got us set up quickly to start using the cards.

I find that the transactions don't always show up right after the charge, and I notice the app doesn't always communicate well with the browser software.

It synced automatically to QBs and it is easy to set someone's budget limit on their credit cards.

There are a few glitches here and there.  It has taken quite some time to try to work out the issues when the spend & expense credit balance is used to pay bills on the bill.com side and how that translates to the reconciliation statement. I also do not like that I haven't been able to set some of the recurring charges up to auto book and sync without attaching a receipt to them or having to go in each month and click that I do not have a receipt and then explain why.  That takes too much time each month.

It makes the entering of credit card charges much faster than it was before we began using Spend & Expense. It also keeps me from having to reconcile each person's receipts to their respective cards.  We have each employee responsible for doing that with their own charges.

It was nice to switch from a complicated platform ( Emborse Certify) To Bill.com. Everyone can figure out how to use it quickly and we don't have to wait for expenses to be completed for accounting to do their job.

**What do you dislike about BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy)?**

You can't make a lot of changes. I accidentaly sent a reimbursement for the wrong amount and even though I caught it within the minute there was no way for me to pull it back. It would be nice if there was a reverse feature where I could pull something back if it was within 5 minutes.

**What problems is BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our approvers tend to be slower then our accountants it is nice that they don't hold each other. Also, we were able to give all of our sales reps cards with budgets. This has allowed us to stay compliant and monitor our spend much more closely. We are able to control all spend, and surprisingly the amount of receipts that were lost each month has gone down to almost 0

I find BILL Spend & Expense incredibly user-friendly. It's great that you don't have to go through extensive training to use its functions effectively. The ability to expense everything quickly as an employee is really impressive. As an employer, I appreciate the feature that allows me to create different budget categories or buckets and assign specific budgets to staff members within the church's total budget. The biggest positive impact has been the real-time expensing of charges, and the app makes it incredibly helpful by allowing us to capture the information on our phones without holding on to receipts, making everything digital and expediting the process. The initial setup of BILL Spend & Expense was incredibly simple, and I'm very likely to recommend it to others.

Sometimes the suggested expense isn't accurate. It tends to look at if you bought something and expensed it at one time, for example, on Amazon. Now it's always suggesting the same thing when it's not accurate. But that's not a huge deal.

I find BILL Spend & Expense solves real-time expensing issues, helping us capture data through our phones and eliminating the need to keep physical receipts. It makes the process faster and more efficient.

Easy access to virtual cards for a large crew. Physical cards can also be delivered directly to the crew, and cards can be automatically frozen for non-compliance. Cash back is a great perk, too!

**What do you dislike about BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy)?**

Syncing customer projects to BILL Spend & Expense automatically activates all new projects, which means we then have to disable inactive projects in two different places. We want the ability to limit which projects our crew can use and see; right now, they can still view old inactive projects. Also, reimbursements don’t allow billable items to sync to QBO, so we can’t use the Reimbursement feature without that functionality. Finally, we need a way to leave notes with @ tags for crew members so we can communicate back and forth, similar to the notes in BILL AP or the report communication in Expensify.

I can create a dedicated company credit card for a specific vendor and use it to pay them on a regular basis. I can also create a one-time vendor credit card with a set expiration date and spending amount, so I can give it to a crew member to make a single purchase.

I like that BILL Spend & Expense allows people to ask for funds, and there are immediately assigned funds on approval, which means we can remove funds as needed. We can issue credit cards without worrying too much about someone's spending because we can monitor and control the spending. It's a really quick request process through the app, and I can review it very quickly on my phone and hit approve, which sends funds to the person's card without a long wait. I also appreciated how easy the initial setup was.

Virtual card platform that allows us to use a credit card to pay our bills. It's amazing how employees can have different budgets and permissions. It allows us to stay on top of their spending and review and approve all their expenses. I also really like how we can order physical cards for them too.

We used other platforms that gave us even more control of employees spending. For example other platforms have rules that it will automatically block employees accounts after not submitting receipts. The ability to generate single-use cards for services that I suspect might try to charge me again, and to spin up infinite individual credit cards, make it an essential piece of our business financial tool kit. We've previously experienced fraud and had to change our CC number across all vendors when using a standard bank CC. With Bill, we use a different card number for every merchant. If it's compromised, we know exactly who leaked it.

Still a very intuitive system. Love the email search for receipts.

The merge between bill and divvy has not been super smooth and creates some issues with staff accessing the correct systems when they need them. We used both bill and divvy prior to the buy out and there have been some challenges with the new login url and apps. We use bill through Chase bank so that has complicated the use of just bill S&E. 

Also, we were unable to sign up for a new credit card with out the bill ap also enabled and that created some issues for us so we decided not to use it at all for the new company we have. 

bill s&e is still great. If we had not been users of bill before the merge would not be such an issue.

It used to be super time  consumig to catagorize our Credit Card expenses. Not any more.

We are going to have to start using another card for some large purchases just in case we run into a cash flow issue one month. SUpport is extremely difficult to get in touch with. When I spoke to someone is support they seemed clueless to the questions I was asking. The support email and phone number listed online are incorrect and out of service. The AI really needs to get better at matching receipts sent via email.

The onboarding process was light and quick with a very responsive team from sales to onboarding. The simplicity with ease of use on the website was a draw for us with a phone application that provides real-time pings to users for data collection at the point of card use is nice. There are ERP ana accounting system integrations but those are limited in availability. The card works well with options to build and restrict budgets to categories choosen.

Unfortunately the simplicity was the downside for us. We need to track our expenses in projects with phases, phases with tasks. BILL is unable to integrate with our systems and lacks dependencies meaning we can't like the projects with its respective phases. Also, the budgeting and limitations that can be placed on cards seemed oversold for what was reasonably possible. The categories and groupings couldn't overlap so we would need to create multiple budgets and assign those to each user. Then the user is required to choose the correct budget each time PRIOR to making a purchase, which is a stretch to ask of non-accounting folk users. Lastly, after the onboarding, support has been poor. We have asked to close our account and given promises with no results since.

The hope was ease of capturing spend data at the time of card swipe by pinging employees to complete and upload the receipt while the event is fresh. This would help code the transaction to the correct project and expense type to reduce the need to nag for reconciliation on the back end while giving us more up-to-date transaction data in our ERP system.

**What do you like best about BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy)?**

I like having the ability to code transactions in one spot and having that flow into accounting, which helps streamline the process. Having one spot to do expense reimbursements is a big plus, and moving away from Excel files makes it easier to have information all in one place. This means I spend less time toggling between different software and more time pulling the correct information that my supervisor needs. The team setup was very easy, which was definitely a plus.

**What do you dislike about BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy)?**

There needs to be a way in the transaction tab to tag the spender and ask them for more information within the transaction itself or tag my supervisor so that they can see a transaction detail. The setup for me as the manager was a little more difficult, and I wish that I had a more full-time account manager at my disposal instead of a setup manager that then departed because we didn't spend enough money on a monthly basis.

BILL Spend & Expense centralizes our transactions, simplifies expense reimbursements, and integrates coding into accounting, saving time and reducing the need for Excel. It provides a credit card platform and allows transaction approvals, enhancing our control compared to older methods.

I like the ease of use and the automation tools provided by BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy). Setting up another user is really easy, which I find very convenient. The automation has improved our turnaround time for coding and increased accountability by having individuals do their own coding. I also enjoy the prefilled mileage standards for reimbursements.

I find that filtering could be smoother, and sometimes things take a while to load. I also think that notifications for managers could be improved.

I find BILL Spend & Expense improves turnaround time for coding and increases accountability. It's easy to use with great automation tools and prefilled mileage standards for reimbursements.

The platform's core concept of combining credit lines with instant expense categorization is strong. When it works, the real-time visibility into spend and the ability to issue virtual cards for specific vendors are helpful features for maintaining budget control across a team. The mobile interface is also relatively intuitive for quick receipt uploads

**What do you dislike about BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy)?**

the implementation and onboarding process were notably disjointed. For a tool that is supposed to streamline operations, the setup felt fragmented and lacked a cohesive 'white-glove' experience. I found the transition between the credit approval phase and the actual platform utility to be fumbled, leading to significant delays in getting the system fully operational. Operationally, it feels like several different tools stitched together rather than one fluid ecosystem

**What problems is BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I think Bill is intended to solve the problem of manual expense reporting and out-of-policy spending. While the virtual card system provides some benefit in terms of security and budget tracking, the initial operational friction during the setup phase significantly diminished the expected ROI and slowed down our financial workflows

**What do you like best about BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy)?**

I really like the integration of BILL Spend & Expense with a payment card because it handles our travel reimbursements and occasional expenses like Internet and subscriptions. The system is pretty good for international payments too, which works well for us when dealing with German contractors. It saves us the hassle and cost of wire transfers through banks by offering a flat 1% fee for payments in almost any currency. The cards for all employees are nice, keeping everything segregated, and our accountant is happy with the consolidated reports. The audit process was smooth, and the system was effective in confirming expenses. The workflow and approval structure work pretty well for our small team, keeping things compliant. The initial setup was extremely straightforward, and the ability to start using basic functionality for free is nice. I also appreciate that we can transition each vendor into the workflow without doing it all at once. The onboarding is very straightforward and as close to instant as possible.

**What do you dislike about BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy)?**

So it doesn't integrate quite as well with our bank. It'd be nice if they could pull the balances for the bank accounts more automatically. We get a larger bill, like $12,000 for a repair, we have to check that we won't create a crisis in the account we're pulling the funds from. There are other systems that are more integrated with banks, which is a minor weak point for Divvy.

I use BILL Spend & Expense for handling bills, expenses, and international payments smoothly. It's great for handling employee expenses with a separate card and offers affordable international transactions, but could improve bank integration.

I have used BILL Spend & Expense to receive payments from a vendor, and I try to use digital or electronic payments instead of checks. We can receive payments quickly and not have to wait for a check in the mail, which is really convenient. Even though I haven't used the feature yet, the ability to get an instant payment on an invoice or to finance an invoice upfront seems like it would help with cash flow, especially when cash is tight. For a small business like ours, having the option to finance an invoice is really valuable. Also, setting up BILL Spend & Expense was easy and didn't take long.

Our team loves the mobile app. Many of them work in our community and have a lot of paper receipts, mobile use allows them to record the image immediately

We have issues getting receipts forwarded in from other inboxes. For instance, many of our receipts go to a shared inbox and not a user specific inbox. This slows the process down and even though I have set up gmail integration and add the email as additional on user profiles it is still not great.

Bill is solving our expense tracking and receipt collecting. We are a small team but needed a system to keep up with this process.

The flexibility of budgets, duplicating budgets and people's spend limits, and the phone app make it easier for people to use on the go. 

**What do you dislike about BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy)?**

Reinstate the name "Divvy." People can't remember the Bill.com name and have a hard time distinguishing Bill.com from this "spend" part. It would be so much simpler to keep calling it "Divvy, a Bill.com company." And they must stop lowering the credit limits at random with absolutely no reason for the decrease; people use Divvy in their organizations and come to rely on it for credit and cash management. Undermining this at random, without warning and without cause, undermines trust in the product as a viable tool for a business.

Managing the whole team's expenses and ensuring the expenses are vetted before we import them into financial software.

The real-time visibility into spending, easy receipt capture, and automatic syncing with accounting systems save a lot of time and reduce manual errors. The approval workflows are straightforward, and having clear controls and reporting makes it much easier to manage budgets and stay compliant without slowing teams down.
