I can also create custom dashboards, and the user-level security and global permissions feel robust. The accounting module is solid, and I appreciate the ability to connect to WMS solutions like RF Smart, along with the available plugins and other integrations. **What do you dislike about NetSuite?** Record loading speed could be faster for certain report types. Also, the UI could be more appealing if the Appearance tab offered more customization options beyond just university mascots. **What problems is NetSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?** It’s helping the business record its P2P cycle. As an admin, it helps me manage user security, configure workflows, and make our business more efficient by reducing the workload for our Purchasing and Accounting teams. We use a lot of this information to help strategize for future-year sales and to support demand planning for our stores. The PO system is very user-friendly, and the overall system is highly customizable through custom reporting and saved searches. The platform is also scalable and well suited for growing businesses, and it can be tailored to meet the needs of different-size businesses through its many integrations and add-ons. They also offer live events with knowledgeable industry leaders, which can be invaluable depending on the topic. **What do you dislike about NetSuite?** One issue is that it doesn’t connect with POS systems like Square or Shopify unless you purchase additional software, which defeats the purpose—especially when we’re already paying a high price for multiple systems. At the moment, we export our sales from Shopify and Square, then export and import our inventory from NetSuite back into Shopify and Square. Overall, that workflow is tedious and time-consuming. The custom reporting options are great, but I wish there were a more user-friendly way to build, organize, and manage those reports. SuiteAnswers can be helpful, but if you don’t already have prior knowledge of how something works in NetSuite, it can be difficult to navigate and learn. The system can also run very slowly when generating reports. **What problems is NetSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?** Having everything in one place on a single platform—inventory management, sales, reporting, accounting, and purchasing management—makes things much easier. This saves us a lot of time each month when paying staff expenses. As an administrator, customizing user forms for transactions and entities should offer me way more control. Using a workflow to hide or show fields is clunky and outdated. I want more control over layout. In addition, saved searches are still a pain to build, especially for transactions. This could be immediately be resolved by adding pre-built search types for each transaction type, and always filtering unapplicable fields from both Filters and Results (for example, a transaction body field might only be visible on a Sales transaction, but still be an option when building a Purchase Order search (manually filtering a transaction search to Purchase Order). **What problems is NetSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's doing what any ERP does, consolidating the business into a single source of truth. NetSuite consolidated that into a single platform — giving us one source of truth across financials, inventory, order management, and procurement. Comprehensive ERP system for small businesses that will check off most of your requirements. **What do you dislike about NetSuite?** Implementation engineers seem reluctant and not as proactive, do no recommend the professional services team for implementation. Premium support is lacking the expertise and there are different tiers of support. Premium support will give you the minimal and you'll almost end up with a offshore support staff that you're likely to spend 2-3 times repeating yourself for them to understand. Definitely go with an in house support person or an external support team if you can, not via NS. Customizations not as customizable as promised, lots of requests for enhancements that we don't know when will get build, or if it ever will. Learning platform comes at a cost too whereas most SasS now offers the training for free. You'll get hit with huge price jump at renewal so be aware. I've learned to create scripts that allow me to get dashboards and data out of NetSuite. Using cloud features has been the most helpful because it lets me see under the hood. Once we went live and started working with ACS, the internal NetSuite consulting team, our experience improved significantly. **What do you dislike about NetSuite?** As a startup, if you add multiple modules that you do not end up using in the future, there's no way to remove them. If you remove them, you cannot lower the contract value. So I would start with what you actually need and then add on as you go. Don't buy into the bundle because if you don't need something in the future, you will be stuck with it forever, and the value of the contract will never go down. The initial setup was very difficult. We hired a consulting firm to do it for us, and they were terrible, which made the experience unpleasant. We paid for a whole year before we even went live. From an inventory standpoint, having real time visibility into stock levels integrated directly with our financials means we can manage purchasing and cash flow more strategically. Additionally the ability to filter and highlight certain information allows for users to more efficiently see the priority orders to be worked on or checked up on with the warehouse and customers. **What do you dislike about NetSuite?** While Saved Searches have been great, I'm less enthused with the report functions as in my experience they can be flawed easily with misinterpreted data and are harder to alter quickly for results that show meaningful data. **What problems is NetSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?** NetSuite is in the process of helping me implement a warehouse management system to help provide better inventory management for my 4 warehouses around the United States. It's getting easier and easier to connect it with other platforms, whether out of the box or paid services, or using the AI models. We have been able to connect different ways, like an Apple Shopify connection with third party Selena, Floj connecting our POS Square, and using ShipStation for generating labels, all done by CSV. That's the flexibility of those with some of the tools. **What do you dislike about NetSuite?** Some of the modules seem like they were an afterthought or built in, which isn't great. The language and safe search features aren't always clear, and there are limitations in setup that just aren't obvious. This kind of hidden knowledge is frustrating. Knowing that NetSuite is primarily a general ledger would have been helpful and saved us time. The initial setup was really challenging because we didn't have any on-site IT experts, and the consultants weren't much help. We had to manually handle a lot of processes, which was tedious. Also, amortization entries are posted "in bulk" and it is very time consuming to get to the details. The initial setup of NetSuite went well and was a pretty smooth process. **What do you dislike about NetSuite?** I think there are some glitches that could be improved. There is a glitch when looking at payments that has an extra scroll bar and makes it tough to see. If this bar was removed (as there already is one) that would help, as you have to get it in the right position to see anything. **What problems is NetSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?** NetSuite organizes everything, keeping us on top of our accounting. It simplifies complex tasks like weekly invoicing and payments, allowing us to easily generate invoices without manual work. ### 42. This means the data is always correct and in real-time, so I can run a report on inventory and know the numbers are legit right now, not from last night's sync. **What do you dislike about NetSuite?** I gotta be honest, the thing I hate the most is that the UI feels super old and cluttered. Its like it was designed in 2010 and they just kinda slapped some new features on top. There are so many menus, sub-tabs, and fields crammed onto one page, it gives me a headache. **What problems is NetSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?** NetSuite basically slays the problem of fragmented data across the whole company, especially for us with inventory. Before, our accounting and warehouse teams were using different spreadsheets and software, which meant we always had wrong inventory counts and were either out of stock or carrying too much. NetSuite fixes that because its a true all in one ERP. Inventory, finance, and orders are all in one real time system. ### 43. For example, we lease trucks and tracking by VIN is everything, and we can't go into a specific VIN and see all that has happened to it like I could with a customer.
