I like how BILL AP/AR streamlines the process of receiving, approving, and paying invoices. It's pretty convenient that vendors can submit invoices in one place, like Bill.com, and from there, we can review and approve them, even including multiple approvers if needed. I really appreciate the ease it allows in processing invoices.

Sometimes accessing Bill.com through Google is a challenge. Bill.com operates slowly, does not always load pages.

I like that BILL AP/AR syncs with QuickBooks, allowing us to pay bills directly from bill.com without having to record them in QuickBooks. The setup was easy, which made getting started with it convenient.

**What do you dislike about BILL AP/AR?**

I'm not thrilled that not all of the syncing works both ways with QuickBooks all the time. I do not like the emails that go out to the clients that I sent bills to.  They feel like they are getting spammed.

I use BILL AP/AR to streamline our payables. I like that it easily integrates with QuickBooks Online, making it valuable for us. It keeps all our invoices and payments in one system, and then everything syncs to QuickBooks. The initial setup of BILL AP/AR was very easy.

I do not love how you cannot void a payment in current period that automatically voids in QuickBooks in current period.

I like BILL AP/AR for staying on top of invoices and ensuring there are no duplicates. The coding is good, and I appreciate the clear information on invoice dates and due dates. The initial setup was very easy.

I wish there were warning signs when you key in a date that is for a prior month or future. If a month has been closed, it would be great to have warnings that the month is closed.

The initial setup of BILL AP/AR was a little hard to get it lined up, but after a few months, it was working.

I should be able to do approvals via information provided in an email so I don't have to log into the application. That's a missing workflow.

I use BILL AP/AR for approval check marks, chart of accounts, categorization, and notification workflows with accounts receivable and payable vendors. It has a simple UI and a clear interface, making it easy to move on to the next task.

**What do you like best about BILL AP/AR?**

The direct sync it has with our accounting software, Sage Intacct, has made everything seamless. The approval function has both our team and auditors very happy. It's a very user friendly software to use and has reduced the amount of time I'm working in AP.

**What do you dislike about BILL AP/AR?**

The only thing I would want to improve is how our vendors receive the information about their payment. The vendors that don't want to sign up with BILL are a bit confused on the process, but it may be user error.

**What problems is BILL AP/AR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has a time stamped approval on all invoices which is super helpful for our auditors - also you can customize the approval workflow so one person can view all of their department invoices, but not need to approve the invoice. The department leaders really enjoy the transparency of not only seeing the invoice, but the coding as well. The software has also saved me time by duplicating the GL information for recurring invocies.

What I like best about BILL AP/AR is how it automates and centralizes AP/AR processes, reducing manual work, improving accuracy, and giving clear visibility into cash flow for better financial control.

What is most helpful is the automation of workflows for invoice entry, approval, payment scheduling & reminders.
Bill also has integration with our software (formerly QuickBooks, now NetSuite). Their customer support is fast & helpful as well. Bill is quick & easy to set up new vendors/customers as well.

It is sometimes difficult to connect with existing customers/vendors. Sometimes there are duplicates, old accounts, similar names as well as

**What problems is BILL AP/AR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bill AP/AR solves manual process, saving us hours of time by automating it. It provides visibility with all our AP data even if we switch ERP systems so we do not lose out on any historical data. For example, from 2018-2023, our company was using QuickBooks Online with the Bill integration. From 2023-Present, we switched over to NetSuite and currently still use Bill integration to collect all our AP information. We are able to provide proof of payments and show the payment statuses to vendors on request quickly as well.

**What do you like best about BILL AP/AR?**

The approval flow is second to none.  Working in a larger company, we've been able to implement Bill approval process across multiple departments and multiple approvers based on several factors.  Other AP services cannot match these levels of approval flow.  The integration into different ERP systems is seamless and makes teaching new AP clerks or sharing access a breeze. Always happy with Bill's support (which is infrequent).  We use Bill five days a week, every week.

**What do you dislike about BILL AP/AR?**

We've been pleased with Bill for years now, and the one place they're losing ground may be on the cost of payments -- while still cost effective, this is one area to review on Bill's side.  Other payment companies are lurking to be the low-cost provider and some even offer it free with other services.

**What problems is BILL AP/AR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bill makes inputting, sending approval notice, and paying invoices without much effort.  It saves countless hours on the accounting team's monthly efforts and integration with QBO is seamless.  We've been very happy with Bill's services for over seven years and counting.

**What do you like best about BILL AP/AR?**

The automation of invoice processing, payment scheduling, and approvals means I don’t have to chase down paper documents or manually track due dates anymore. I especially appreciate how easy it is to set up vendors, send payments electronically, and get a clear audit trail for every transaction. The interface is intuitive, and the search/filter options make finding past bills or payments incredibly quick. I also love that it integrates well with my accounting software, so my records stay accurate and up-to-date without extra data entry. Overall, it takes the stress out of managing payables and receivables so I can focus on more important tasks.

**What do you dislike about BILL AP/AR?**

here’s very little I dislike about BILL, but if I had to pick something, it would be that the mobile app experience isn’t quite as robust as the desktop version—some features require me to log in from a computer to complete. Occasionally, payments can take an extra day or two to process depending on the method, which can be a bit inconvenient if timing is tight. That said, these are small trade-offs compared to the overall efficiency, transparency, and convenience the platform provides.

**What problems is BILL AP/AR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BILL AP/AR has eliminated the manual, time-consuming processes we used to deal with for paying bills and collecting payments. Before, we were juggling paper invoices, physical checks, and scattered email approvals, which slowed everything down and left room for errors. Now, everything is centralized—vendor invoices are uploaded, routed for approval, and scheduled for payment all in one place. On the AR side, it makes it easy to send professional invoices and receive payments electronically, which improves cash flow and reduces delays. The built-in audit trail and reporting features give us full visibility, which is a huge help for compliance and month-end reconciliation. Overall, BILL saves us time, reduces errors, and lets us manage payables and receivables from anywhere, which has been especially valuable with a hybrid/remote team.

Just having bill.com be able to sync with my accounting software makes all the difference. I use budgeting software as well and it is not able to sync and that is a real pain point. In addition, we are almost fully remote so being able to get approvals online eliminates a major difficulty for us. Moreover, having all the data at my fingertips, including all the supporting documentation and being able to schedule payments based on due dates in one batch, frees me up so I don't have to think about A/P in the same way anymore. My focus can now be on all of the other strategic decisions that I have to make instead of on A/P.

**What do you dislike about BILL AP/AR?**

The only drawback that I can think of is that they don't support all countries in sending money.

We use this system daily, and it allows all team members involved in accounts payable to be apprised of the status of the payment request.  The seamless integration with QuickBooks saves time and ensures accuracy.  The ability to screen print with approvals and payment details allows for adequate support during field audits.

The W-9 Collection process should be improved to allow for the collection and storage of all W-9s, not just the vendors that require a 1099.  This requires us to store W-9s in two locations (document and tax info).  It would be more efficient and streamlined if all tax information were stored in the same place.

Using bill.com makes processing AP so much more efficient with the ability to read the invoices and capture most of the data automatically as well as save a copy of each invoice that is processed for record retention. This saves an additional step of not having to create a separate scan of all paid ap invoices. We also love the internal control aspect with the options for approval chains. We actually process invoices on a daily basis because it is so easy to use.

The only thing that I have not liked about bill.com AP is when they added default options to pay vendor with "payment cards", like a gift card type option. I had to call to have that taken off of our account, but, other than that, I have loved it.

We are able to process ap very quickly, schedule payments in advance, and the AI reader is very accurate. It even reads handwritten invoices well. This has actually eliminated the need for an AP Clerk to do data entry.

We use BILL AP to manage payments to 200 contractors across multiple countries. What used to take 4–5 hours twice a month now takes 30 minutes or less. The Local Transfer feature has eliminated international payment delays and made us look more professional to our teachers. The QuickBooks integration saves a lot of time, and the ability to handle 1099's at the end of the year saves tons of ton as well. The customer support is also very rapid and helpful. Overall, the platform is the most efficient of everything we've tested.

**What do you dislike about BILL AP/AR?**

BILL doesn’t seem to offer pricing discounts for high-volume usage, which can add up for businesses processing a large number of payments. This is particularly true when doing credit card payments. While the 1099 features are extremely helpful and save time, they aren’t as full-featured as some competitors’ dedicated tax tools.

**What problems is BILL AP/AR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BILL AP (we don't currently use AR) is saving time during the process of paying over 200 of domestic and international contractors every two weeks. Before, we manually calculated and processed each payment, which took hours and caused delays—especially for international teachers. Now, we can process all payments in under 30 minutes, eliminate payment delays with Local Transfer (their international payment option), and keep everything integrated with QuickBooks. This saves us around 6–7 hours a month.

Bill.com's read technology on the invoice details is quite accurate and the memory of recurring invoicing is very beneficial. Maintaining vendor payment information and W9 details are quite helpful. And should I run into issues, the customer service response is very friendly and helpful with a quick turn around to get the issue fixed.

Adding a vendor is easy but I wish the searching for a vendor already linked into Bill.com was easier and the initial search could be done without the payment network id. The read technology on invoicing is quite accurate but for W9's this still needs work, as often the address and TIN are not properly pulled in.

What I like best about Bill AP/AR is that for AP is super easy to receive and explain external vendors to send us their invoices so we can see them in our inbox and pay them in a good time. and for AR I love the fact that we can program recurring payments through bill.com.

For our company I think is worth more exploring but we don't have experience in setting up recurring charges in bill.com for customers, as far as I saw last week we need to enter the customer's bank information so we can set up recurring charges for we are afraid that they won't feel confident sharing with us such sensitive information and we would rather preferred to send them a link from bill.com where they can enter this information for us, in that way they are completely aware of what we are doing and won't be surprise for a recurring charge.

We tried several full-service contractor management and payment platforms before landing on a system that actually worked for us. The solution we chose was to build our own internal approval and contract flow and then integrate best-in-class services like e-signature, scheduling, and payments — and Bill.com was the obvious choice for payments and approvals.

What made the difference:
	•	Excellent support — responsive and genuinely helpful.
	•	Network effect — many contractors and vendors already use it, which makes connecting and paying seamless.
	•	Solid API — well-documented and easy to work with.

There’s very little we dislike on the surface — day-to-day use is smooth and reliable. But as we dug deeper into integration via the API, we started to hit some limits.

These aren’t dealbreakers, but they’re frustrating if you’re trying to fully automate and sync Bill.com with your internal systems. We expect this will be addressed over time, but for now it does require workarounds.

BILL AP/AR has streamlined our entire accounts payable and receivable process. The automated workflows for approvals, invoice management, and vendor payments save us a lot of time and reduce the need for manual follow-ups. I especially like the integration with our accounting software, which keeps everything in sync with minimal effort. The user interface is clean, and setting up recurring payments is very easy.

**What do you like best about BILL AP/AR?**

I like how everything is so well organized in bill.com. The side menu is very easy to navigate and categorized in logical groups. The daily reminders that are automatically sent to my email also help me to stay organized and ensure that bills are paid in a timely manner. The sytem was so easy to implement and to integrate with our general ledger system. Just a few quick clicks and everything was ready to go. When I had a change in staff, I reached out to their customer support team to make the necessary changes. They walked me through everything, and within a few minutes, everything was set up for the new system user. I utilize the system on a daily basis and can't imagine operating without bill.com!

**What do you dislike about BILL AP/AR?**

Honestly, I can't think of anything that I don't like about bill.com.  The "hardest" thing that I had to accomplish was specifying a new bank account for payments and that was only because it took a little time for verification from our bank.

**What problems is BILL AP/AR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have had to downsize our accounting staff and I have had to take on more functions. Bill.com has helped me tremndously to stay organized and ensure that invoices to our customers are going out and are being paid, as well as keeping track of bill that we've received to pay. The daily reminders to my email box keeps me informed of what I need to accomplish in bill.com every day.

BILL streamlines our accounts payable process with a clean interface and reliable payment workflows. The approval routing is especially useful, with automated notifications that help keep us on track. Integrating with QuickBooks Online has been seamless and saves time during month-end close. The ability to add notes and view a complete audit trail for each transaction provides clarity and accountability across our team. We use this platform every day, it is critical to our operation. Implementing new users and workflows has also been super easy.

**What do you dislike about BILL AP/AR?**

The reporting and analytics capabilities are somewhat limited. It can be difficult to extract custom data or gain insights beyond basic export functions, especially when trying to run historical comparisons or filter by payment status or approver. The UI occasionally lags when dealing with large volumes of bills, and advanced search functionality could be more intuitive. A more modern mobile app experience would also be helpful for on-the-go approvals. We have always had stellar customer support whenever trying to navigate any challenges.

**What problems is BILL AP/AR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BILL has helped us move away from manual invoice tracking, paper checks, and decentralized approval processes. With a geographically dispersed team and many vendor relationships, it’s critical that our AP workflows are efficient and auditable. BILL enables us to centralize invoice processing, automate multi-level approvals, and ensure timely payments without constant follow-ups or emails. The visibility into status and history for each bill supports better internal controls and smoother audits.

**What do you like best about BILL AP/AR?**

I like the ease of entering invoices for payment into the system.  I am able to email copies of documents to an established email with BILL and the AI within the software does most of the processing for me.  I just review the populated the information, make any changes needed (which is rare), then send off the document to be reviewed by our approval personnel.  Once approved, it is very easy to schedule outgoing payments.  I use the software daily for our organizations and it is very easy.  It is also convenient for our staff reviewing invoices/documents, they get a notification that something is in their queue, then they review and approve or deny the document at their leisure.

**What do you dislike about BILL AP/AR?**

My company uses an old accounting software so I could not integrate the BILL software into my accounting system.  I have to extract date from BILL and book a journal entry to get the information into my accounting software.

**What problems is BILL AP/AR solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BILL solves the problem of remote review and approval of invoices/documents by our staff.  Some of our approvers work off-site and BILL allows them to stay on top of their documents in a timely fashion.  BILL also solves the problem of printing and mailing checks.

**What do you like best about BILL AP/AR?**

We've been using BILL AP daily to manage our accounts payable and receivable, and overall, our experience has been very positive.

What we like best about BILL is how intuitive and easy to use the platform is. The side menu navigation makes it simple to move around the system quickly, even for first-time users. Adding new vendors and bills is a straightforward process, with all the required fields clearly marked. This makes onboarding new team members much easier and ensures accuracy in data entry.

Another highlight has been the seamless integration with our accounting system, QuickBooks. The BILL support team assisted us throughout the integration process, always available to answer questions and provide guidance. The sync has worked flawlessly since then.

We also appreciate the variety of payment options available, including ACH, wire transfers, and credit card payments. This flexibility allows us to manage cash flow efficiently and choose the best payment method for each situation.

**What do you dislike about BILL AP/AR?**

The only downside is the additional fee we incur for using BILL.com to process payments. This is an expense we wouldn't have if we paid vendors directly through our bank. However, considering the time saved and the automation provided, the cost is justifiable for our business needs.

**What do you like best about BILL AP/AR?**

I appreciate the time saved with the OCR software. It also remembers the last GL coding you had assigned for that vendor, which is very useful when you have repetitive bills. It also allows you to setup recurring invoices, always a nice feature. The syncing function is also very easy with QuickBooks Online at least. We use it daily, and I rarely have issues with the software. I also appreciate the security features that come with using Bill.com for sending checks; they use their own clearing account so our account information is not out there.

**What do you dislike about BILL AP/AR?**

The customer support is often very limited and repetitive in their answers, even if they don't solve the problem. The limits on dollar amounts you can send is also a bit arbitrary. We're a 150 million dollar company, and we had to wait several months and put in multiple requests to get our sending limits raised to a reasonable amount.

It solves record keeping problems, and makes AP work much faster.

**What do you like best about BILL AP/AR?**

I like that I can track incoming customer payments and store all of our bills and payment information for our vendors.  It is easy to set up vendors and send payments.  The customer service team has always been quick to resolve my issues.

**What do you dislike about BILL AP/AR?**

It is not as sophisticated as other AP services, and I'm not fond of the inbox.  It gets cluttered full of bills I have already worked on.  It could also have better accounting software integration.  It was really annoying when it was automatically changing vendors from epayments to virtual card, but it looks like that has been resolved.  I also did not like the AI bill data entry because it was always wrong, so I had asked customer support to turn it off and they did.  I don't like the direction we are going in society with AI since it is destroying the environment and I haven't seen much use for it in this industry since it is not accurate, so I would ask that you not use AI but I know you will anyway.  At least keep your customer support team and pay them well!

BILL helps us store bills from vendors and send electronic payments to our vendors.  It also helps us track and receive customer payments.  BILL also helps us pay our contractors.

The AI feature to auto assign merchant name to transactions and the inability to correct it. There are incorrect merchant names assigned to invoicing and transactions and we are told repeatedly that there is no way to manually override. There should always be a way to manually override AI systems.

Credit cards for staff members as they need it. It is really helping to make sure everyone has the subscriptions and things they need asap.

I wish that there was an easier way to find Inbox history. Any email notes accompanying an invoice get lost once the bill is entered. Also, if the Inbox didn't automatically make every email and every signature image into a separate "bill" to be entered, that'd be great. Also our sync to QuickBooks rarely works or is delayed.

Keeping track of digital invoices in one place is extremely helpful. It saves time in hunting down PDFs in email.
