Here's a revised version incorporating the additional points: What I like best about Tipalti is how adaptable and customizable it is to our needs. The system has a wide range of features that support different areas of our payment and procurement processes. For example, being able to tailor files, templates, custom fields, and approval workflows to match how we operate has been a major advantage. The integration with Odoo, while not without its initial challenges, is proving extremely valuable and is helping us create a more streamlined and controlled end-to-end process. The Purchase Order integration has also been a significant benefit, providing better review and approval controls, increased visibility over spending, and clearer cost ownership across departments. It enables teams to take greater responsibility for budgets and purchasing decisions while ensuring appropriate oversight throughout the approval process. We have also seen considerable time savings through the reduction of manual payment activities. By consolidating and automating payment processes within Tipalti, we have been able to streamline payment runs, reduce administrative effort, and improve overall efficiency for the finance team. Another key benefit is the enhanced security and compliance offered through the supplier portal. Vendors can securely maintain their own banking details and tax information, reducing manual intervention, improving data accuracy, and significantly lowering the risk associated with handling sensitive supplier information. Their customer support also deserves special mention as a standout part of the experience. Andy and Ani have been extremely helpful and responsive to our questions, whether it's tweaking file configurations, setting up workflows, or troubleshooting issues. Having support that is willing to listen and collaborate makes a huge difference, especially during implementation and testing phases. One area where Tipalti could continue to enhance the experience is around streamlining data alignment with external systems, such as Odoo. As with many complex integrations, ensuring consistency across file formats, invoice structures, and payment matching workflows can require some configuration and fine-tuning, particularly when managing more complex scenarios like invoices with multiple line items. The implementation process has involved some optimization, but Tipalti’s team has been proactive and collaborative in helping us address these areas. They have been receptive to feedback and willing to explore solutions, including template adjustments and collaboration with their engineering team. Overall, we’ve seen steady progress, and the platform continues to add value to our processes. It would also be beneficial if the full dashboard functionality were available to a wider group of users across the organization. Providing managers and budget owners with greater visibility into their team or department spend would help drive accountability, support more informed decision-making, and reduce reliance on the finance team for routine reporting requests. Additional self-service reporting and financial insights would further enhance the platform by giving stakeholders easier access to meaningful data and trends, helping them manage costs more effectively and make better-informed purchasing decisions. What I really appreciate about Tipalti is how much it has simplified and automated our finance operations. Before Tipalti, we were managing payments through a completely manual process in CashPro, which was time-consuming and prone to errors. Now, with invoice capture and OCR, duplicate bill detection, and PO matching, we’ve cut invoice processing time from about 30 minutes to roughly 5 minutes per invoice—an 83% reduction—while saving more than $60,000 annually. Our weekly AP workload also dropped from around 50 hours spread across three people to about 25 hours handled by a single analyst, and our AP close improved from 6–7 days down to just 1–2. The integration with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central keeps everything automatically in sync, from vendor records to invoices and payments. The vendor portal has been another major win: nearly all of our vendors handle their own onboarding and banking updates, which has dramatically reduced manual work and support requests. Tipalti’s tax compliance capabilities have been incredibly valuable as well, especially for W-9 and W-8 management during audits. One minor challenge has been occasional product updates rolling out without advance notice. Having a preview of upcoming changes would make planning easier. What I like best about Tipalti is the level of automation it has brought to our AP process. We moved from manual payments to fully auto-synced payments, which has significantly improved efficiency and reduced manual effort. Vendor master data is also much more accurate now that suppliers can self-onboard and maintain their own information. One area that could be improved is the synchronization between the ERP and Tipalti. Payments made outside of Tipalti don't sync back from our ERP, which causes the aging report in Tipalti to differ from our actual AP aging. To keep both systems aligned, we have to manually apply those payments, which is time-consuming. I also still encounter sync errors that require manual intervention, and I would love to see more flexibility in approval workflows, such as the ability to configure approvers at the vendor level. Tipalti has solved many of the manual challenges we used to face in AP by automating invoice processing, approvals, payments, and vendor onboarding. This has improved efficiency, reduced errors, and given us much better visibility into our AP operations. More recently, I've been using some of the AI capabilities, such as AI-generated reports and daily summaries of overdue or pending approval invoices. These have been very helpful in helping me prioritize work and proactively follow up with approvers. Right now, the estimated funds delivery date is only available for newly submitted payments; it should be accessible at any time so I can check it whenever I need to. Being able to bulk upload payments via CSV and sync directly with Salesforce saves us substantial time and manual effort. It has also been valuable to drill into specific rejection reasons and troubleshoot payment issues quickly. Another standout is customer support. While Tipalti has been a strong tool overall, there are areas where the experience could be more streamlined. We have experienced challenges with batch IDs during bulk uploads, and we would value greater visibility into payment rejection statuses directly. Our international payees have also faced challenges with the mobile experience due to the iframe configuration we use with Tipalti. That said, the Tipalti product team has been responsive and collaborative in helping us work through these issues. Finally, we would value greater urgency and clearer expectation-setting when issues are critical. The recent inability to sync batch IDs is a good example — while the issue was resolved before our large payment batches, we would benefit from a more defined escalation path and more frequent check-in points so we can plan with confidence. The biggest upside Tipalti has offered is its standard OCR service. Having bills automatically read and coded has allowed our AP team to maintain our current headcount while more than doubling the number of bills processed. We ultimately chose Tipalti because it lets us make prepayments to certain vendors, which essentially creates a “wallet” of funds that can be applied against specific purchase orders. This is very helpful, but Tipalti also effectively “locks” the purchase order coming from our ERP (NetSuite). Once a prepayment is made on a PO, the Tipalti system only allows those funds to be applied to bills tied to that same PO. If the PO changes, some manual accounting is required to correct things on the Tipalti side—for example, moving any unused prepayment funds to the right place. What I really like about Tipalti is how smooth and efficient things run overall. Setting up payees and processing payments has been straightforward, especially compared to what we dealt with before. One of the features I value most is the way payees can now navigate the payment and tax forms easily—early on, there were some challenges, but the improvements over time, like tweaks to the UI and helpful options for tax form mismatches, have made a big difference. The customer support is also a huge upside. Whether it’s the quick resolution of issues or helping us with unique requests, the team has been reliable. It’s also great that they pay attention to feedback for potential improvements. Overall, the system is reliable, intuitive, and backed by a team that really wants to help, which makes our job much easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Tipalti? One area where there could be further enhancement in Tipalti is the ability to cancel a previously approved distribution. In a situation where we needed to make corrections, the process ultimately worked, but it felt somewhat time-sensitive and could be more streamlined. Tipalti helps us ensure timely and reliable payments to our payees while simplifying the onboarding process for payment and tax information. Features like fraud prevention, improved UI for tax forms, and detailed document reviews have significantly reduced support queries and errors. It keeps payees happy and our processes efficient, which ultimately strengthens relationships and boosts overall satisfaction.
