## Paylocity Reviews
  ### 1. User-Friendly, Cost-Effective HR & Payroll with First-Class Paylocity Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan W. | Business Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

The software platform is very user-friendly, and the product support is first-class. As someone at a small company who wears many hats and manages the back end of the business, having support from Paylocity is invaluable. Integrations with 401(k) and benefits are a real time-saver. The systems always work and are very user-friendly. The built-in knowledge base w/ AI, when paired with their Human support team, takes a lot of stress out of learning and using new software. It is a very cost-effective platform. I compared Paylocity with other big players in this space, and I am very happy I chose Paylocity.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

It takes time to fully implement all the features at first I was a little fustrated with the speed. But in the end, I am glad the implementation pace was slower. The end result is that my HR and payroll data is a lot better and the real time savings is after implementation. Streamlined timesheets, PTO requests, and the intregrations with 401k and benefits are huge for me.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PTO: tracking and requests
Timesheets
Payroll
Improved data and data organization for both Payroll and HR.
Onboarding new employees

  ### 2. Super Simple Reporting and the Smoothest Onboarding Experience

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica H. | Human Resources Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

1. The reporting is super simple to create and navigate! If you are using the Report Writer or editing an existing report, it's easy to find the fields you need to report on.

2. Onboarding is the easiest of any platform I've ever used. Once you create your event packets, its a seamless process to onboard. You select the event packet, create/select your employee and fill in all of your information in one spot.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

1. Our company is a healthcare organization that has a lot of rehires (sometimes multiple times within a year). We have found that we can use the Adjusted Seniority Date as a field on reports to make sure we have the most recent hire date with running said reports. However, in the Performance module, Adjusted Seniority Date is not an option to filter employees. When we started our Annual Evaluations, we had to manually add 500+ employees to get the reviews assigned to correct employees.

2. Employees can not see their paychecks before payroll is processed. In our previous system, it allowed employees to view their check stubs before payroll was processed. This ensured accuracy with the employees being able to let payroll know if something was incorrect. Now, if something is incorrect (not getting OT/Holiday pay, forgot to input PTO, etc.), it has to be fixed AFTER payroll is ran.

3. The app is VERY limited. If an employee wants to change something, sign something, or really do anything, they have to go to the website. Our employees came from a system where the app was basically the exact same as the website, so that has been an adjustment.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reporting is a lot more accurate. I trust the information from reports now, where in our previous system, I did not.

  ### 3. Logical, User-Friendly HRIS With Great On-Demand Pay and Tools

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily W. | Branch Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

The system makes logical sense when needing to access certain areas of the system. There are less steps to add an admin user. We love the on demand pay for our team members to have access that feature and has been used a decent amount since going live. The app is very user friendly and gets updates regularly where our previous HRIS the app defects rarely got fixed or took a very long time. Rewards and Recognition is great and learning more about it. The missed punch feature is a game changer for us, previously team member had to fill out a form and now it all can be done through the system. Lastly we utilize the comp tool and our previous HRIS we couldn't use the comp tool, we just finished merit and our VP of IT commented on how user friendly and easy the tool was to use. Lastly I love the knowledge base.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

We had an adjustment that the way PTO was displayed in the tool was different than our previous HRIS system so that has caused a bit of a learning curve and frustration from team members that its not more real time, we have physical time clocks and when changing badges it only updates once a day. The time clock and syncing really hurts us for when a new hire starts or someone loses the badge. Bank verifications seem to take longer.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There is an enhancement that is coming regarding updates to Time and Labor and we can't wait to see that. We hope to see some additional enhancements to the benefits module.

  ### 4. Effortless Payroll, Great Navigation, Minor Search Issues

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Suszanne G. | Accounting Manager, Automotive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I use Paylocity for Payroll and communicating with our employees. Paylocity makes processing payroll easy to do and provides an employee-wide base for communication. I find Paylocity super easy to navigate, even as I'm still learning about new offerings 5 years in. I really like the Home page that we land on once we log in because it brings all the pertinent information to me in one place. I also like the Time and Labor module to track our employees' time. The demo seemed to hit all the right buttons, and I was hooked on the graphics. The initial setup was super simple, with Paylocity handling the import of all our historical data effortlessly.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

Sometimes it's difficult to find just the right report with the search feature. We have searched for reports that combine Employee information with Other reports and don't find what we need. We've had to run several reports and export them to excel to combine the information and work with the data.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity makes processing payroll easy and provides a company-wide base for communication. The homepage consolidates all pertinent information, and the Time and Labor module tracks employee time effectively.

  ### 5. Hospital Director

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katelyn P. | Hospital Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

As a HD in a vet clinic, I find that is makes it nice that the employee is able to view and make changes themselves and doesn't require me to do it for them or be a middle man.
I think its great that on my log in, I am able to be mobile as well. I don't have to be tied to a computer to view, or change anything that may be needed.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

Only negative for me at this time, is on the employee side, when they are viewing on the schedule "who they are working with" It also shows other clinics that our in company, but not just our clinic team.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I recently had paylocity help by taking inactive team members off the schedule. That has helped me by not having extra people on the schedule when trying to fill it in.

  ### 6. Streamlined HR in One Platform, but Reporting and Support Can Be Clunky

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jaser H. | Support Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

The best part about Paylocity was having all our HR, payroll, & time tracking needs centralized in one platform. The employee self service portal & mobile app were also incredibly helpful, allowing staff to easily check paystubs, request time off, & manage their personal information on their own. Overall, it significantly streamlined our administrative tasks & reduced the manual workload for the team.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

The biggest downside was that the custom reporting tools could sometimes feel clunky& difficult to navigate when we needed to pull specific data. The user interface was occasionally overwhelming for new employees to learn at first, & getting quick resolutions from customer support could be slow during busy seasons.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity solved the problem of fragmented HR systems by bringing payroll, benefits, & time tracking together into one unified platform. This benefited us by drastically reducing manual data entry & minimizing the risk of payroll errors. It freed up our team's time to focus on higher level tasks instead of getting bogged down in daily administrative paperwork.

  ### 7. Comprehensive HR Platform with User-Friendly Self-Service and Stellar Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Susana M. | Payroll administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I’ve been working with Paylocity for the past four years, and I can confidently say it has been one of the best decisions for our payroll and HR operations.

The platform offers a comprehensive solution that covers payroll, time and labor, recruiting, and employee management all in one place. It has significantly improved our efficiency and helped streamline many of our internal processes. The employee self-service features are also very user-friendly, which has reduced the administrative burden on our team.

What truly stands out, however, is their customer support. The representatives are consistently professional, patient, and knowledgeable. Anytime I’ve had questions or needed assistance, their team has taken the time to walk me through solutions and ensure everything is handled correctly.

Overall, Paylocity has been a reliable partner for our business, and I highly recommend it to any company looking for a strong, all-in-one HR and payroll system.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

One area that has been challenging is the benefits integration with HR and payroll, particularly the file feeds to our benefit providers.

During the initial setup, cost centers were configured as locations. Now that we are transitioning to using departments as cost centers, it has created issues with the benefit provider file feeds. This mismatch has impacted data accuracy and required additional time to troubleshoot and correct.

We are currently working through these challenges, but it has highlighted some limitations in how flexible the benefits integration is when structural changes are made after implementation.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity solves several key challenges for our business by centralizing payroll, tax filing, time tracking, and HR processes into one platform.

  ### 8. Paylocity: User-Friendly Platform with Lightning-Fast Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer M. | HR Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I'm new to Paylocity software and it is the best I've ever used in my HR role in the last 25 years. It's user friendly and the support team at Paylocity is the BEST!. Anytime, I run into road blocks, they are a phone call away with quick respose times of under 60 seconds. If you leave a voicemail, it is return within 5 minutes. They have a top notch platform that makes my job seamless and stress free. Thank you Paylocity!

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

I haven't found any downsides yet. As a new learning, I continue to learn new features daily that assist in my roles and responsibilities.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ensuring that pay and codes are done correctly. That hours of time and attendance are correct. The system has checks and balances and flags any issues that don't appear correct. The pre-processed report is great to check for errors before submitting to eliminate duplicates or mispay.

  ### 9. Absolute Nightmare - Cost Us $90,000 in Fines. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eugene T. | Executive Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

nothing helpful comes to mind. Don't like anything.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

My experience with Paylocity has been nothing short of a disastrous administrative nightmare. If I could give this company a zero-star rating, I absolutely would.

To start, their customer service is shockingly unprofessional. Their representative, Kaleb Whittekiend, had the audacity to call me at 6:00 AM. Not only was the timing wildly inappropriate, but he was also incredibly rude, obnoxious, and completely useless in actually resolving any of our issues.

The entire implementation process was completely butchered from the start. We relied on them as our professional payroll provider during a transition, and their team failed to bring a massive, critical tax registration issue to our attention. Because of their sheer negligence and incompetence in handling our California EDD account, they defaulted to submitting our tax payments via paper checks without our knowledge or authorization, violating state electronic filing mandates.

This catastrophic failure in their system and communication directly resulted in our company being slammed with nearly $90,000 in EDD noncompliance penalties and a subsequent bank levy. We trusted them to handle our payroll and tax compliance, and their botched implementation cost us tens of thousands of dollars.

This is by far the worst payroll transition and customer service experience I have ever encountered. Stay far away from Paylocity unless you want to pay the price for their catastrophic mistakes.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

nothing helpful. only headaches. I wish i never signed up with them.

  ### 10. Fast, Reliable Payroll Support—Help on the Phone in Under 90 Seconds

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tony C. | Controller, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

The ease at which I can get someone on the phone to help with any payroll processing or reporting issues. From dialing the number to speaking to someone is less than 90 seconds.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

The only bump in the road I have hit is when making updates to employment, sometimes I cannot save because there is an issue with the effective date / chronology. I understand there is an order of operations but the error message doesn't provide enough information to help solve. I usually lean on ChatGPT at that point, but often gives me directions to a menu that is not the one I have.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Doesn't solve problems per se, but it provides a necessary service of payroll administration and time tracking. One service it helped with in particular was I was able to run quick reports for each hourly employee for 2025 that provides the total amount of Overtime Earnings, so that I could give each employee the amount of "Qualified Overtime Earnings" for tax purposes. Since that legislation was passed mid-year and that deductible amount was not reflected on the annual W2, I offered to all employees to provide this figure. And it was an easy report to run and provide, and employees appreciated it.

  ### 11. Customer Service has dropped in the last 2-3 years.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dave F. | Director of Human Resources, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

They have made some upgrades to how you process the payroll, input the batch, HR features and measuring, which are positive.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

In the last 2-3 years customer service has dropped dramatically. It takes days, multiple follow ups, and calls even to get a response to a service question email. There are no dedicated account managers anymore, everyone has a service team, who those members eventually get shifted away to different jobs, so your never talking to the same person. They don't know me or care about my account. It seems like all I ever get from them are stock or AI generated answers to my questions, with attitude (like how dare i ask them or challenge them when their wrong...) so it seems like they don't know the product very well, and often I've been using it longer at this point then they've been employed by the company. Between them not knowing my account and the product, i have to complain to reach a higher level manager every time, even for simple things. So its just exhausting on the service end.

**Recommendations to others considering Paylocity:**

It is a good system if you are used to other payroll systems. Super fair pricing

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Timely payroll submission. We are recruiting and HR systems and Time collection/time entry.

  ### 12. Paylocity’s Intuitive Navigation and Flexible Reporting Made Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Terri H. | Accounting Assistant/HR, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

What I love best about Paylocity is how easy it is to navigate the website. I also really find it beneficial to have so many types of reports I'm able to either use a template of or create my own. This is most beneficial when pulling company wide employee information. I've used ADP in the past with a different employer, and it was such a convoluted website, I feel like we were never able to fully overcome the learning curve.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

I do notice that Paylocity's website does incur technical difficulties more often. When this happens, the website won't load, or loads very slowly. I sometimes receive a blank page with an error code after the log in process.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity's reporting & analytics are the biggest problem solver for us. For example, when the One Big Beautiful Bill was passed and we had to calculate our employee's 2025 overtime, Paylocity quickly came out with the OB3 Qualified OT report. This saved us so much time & effort on our end.

  ### 13. All-in-One HR & Payroll with Seamless Onboarding and Time-Saving AI

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I really like that anything you would need for human resources and payroll can be done in paylocity. I also really like the AI for staff and our leadership team because it saves a lot of time for our HR staff. I feel the pricing is fair for all you get as well. The onboarding suite is probably my favorite because the new hire can complete all needed tasks before even stepping in the building. Paylocity integrates with our background provider and it is seamless!

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

Whenever I run reports and our finance team runs reports, we seem to get different data with the same parameters. The PTO is a problem for our team as well. It does not seem to calculate correctly and/or communicate with the time management suite, leaving employees thinking they have a lot more PTO than they actually do.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity saves our HR and finance teams a lot of time by integrating with systems we already had in place to run checks and complete tasks that would otherwise take a lot more time and would leave more room for error.

  ### 14. Efficient Payroll and Recruitment Simplified

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sue B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I love Paylocity's seamless transition from timecard to payroll processing. The ease of processing payroll has significantly lessened my payroll time, bringing it down to one hour for four companies. Its recruitment system is valuable as it posts in numerous forums, creating a wider reach and using job descriptions to attract and qualify candidates effectively. The onboarding is great, letting prospective employees complete 90% of paperwork before their first day, making the process smooth. I appreciate the system's intuitiveness, streamlining recruitment and employee recognition of anniversaries and birthdays. Our integration for 401K and paperless time-off requests also works well.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

Employees who have Paylocity as their payroll company with more than one organization must log into each company without the use of a potential drop down feature. This feature would enhance the user experience.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity seamlessly transitions from timecard to payroll, reducing my processing time significantly. It extends my recruitment reach by posting in multiple forums and simplifies onboarding with pre-start paperwork completion. Its intuitiveness speeds up payroll and filters unqualified candidates easily.

  ### 15. Efficient Payroll Solution with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris C. | Human Resources Payroll Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I use Paylocity for payroll and HR. It helped improve the efficiency and speed of our payroll process. I love the user-friendliness and the ability to house multiple functions in one system. Paylocity can integrate with outside systems for benefits, 401k, and more. I really appreciate the reporting capabilities where I can create my own reports. It's also great that Paylocity offers a customizable package for purchasing different modules separately. We have integrations with American Trust for 401k, Cigna for medical, dental, and vision insurance, and UT&I for pushing time card data from our POS Toast to Paylocity time cards. The implementation team was pretty good and our setup went much better than our previous experience with Paycor.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

The biggest improvement would be related to onboarding. There needs to be texting features for people who are in onboarding. Right now, its only available for applicants in recruiting but once they move to onboarding, no more texts. There is also issues with onboarding where things could be adjusted to be more intuitive when it comes to completing tax forms and things like that for younger employees, which we have a lot of, because those parts of onboarding can be very confusing for young people, especially with their first job. And also, the customer service could be better sometimes. If our regular rep can answer a questions, its pretty quick. But if another team needs to get involved, it can take a long time, especially for tax amendments. The amount of time to process a tax return amendment is unacceptable.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity improved efficiency and speed of our payroll process and eliminated multiple systems by consolidating them. It's user-friendly, integrates with outside systems for benefits, and offers comprehensive reporting capabilities.

  ### 16. Simplifies Payroll and Reporting with Great User Support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I find Paylocity user friendly, even for someone who doesn't have a strong HR background like me. It's made running payroll, reporting, and tracking company property much easier. I particularly appreciate the payroll reporting tools like deduction reports, summaries, and payroll registers, which seamlessly tie into QuickBooks. I love the QuickBooks marketplace integration and how our payroll automatically syncs with QuickBooks, simplifying my workflow. The implementation was super easy, and all our employees have had a great experience. I feel we can do much more with Paylocity than we did with our previous provider. The customer support is also great—I call maybe once a week for various issues, and they're always friendly and helpful.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

We recently moved to the Airbase expense reporting, and while it seems like it could be a great system, it's majorly robust for our needs and I liked what expense reporting was before. It was simple, effective, and easy. I wish we could've stayed with that. Our implementation wasn't great for that. I also think the service is just too much for a small 35 person company. We don't issue credit cards to people, it's just all personal expense reimbursements. I wish we could've kept the original expense reporting we've been using since moving to Paylocity a few years ago.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity makes it easier to run payroll, handle reporting, and streamline processes. It helps track company property and equipment usage, and integrates payroll with QuickBooks.

  ### 17. Efficient, User-Friendly HR & Payroll Platform with Strong Integrations and Automation Features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I love the ease of use of Paylocity, as there haven’t been many technical issues that disrupt our everyday processes. The platform has helped improve efficiency and ROI for our team by reducing manual work and streamlining several HR and payroll functions into one system. I appreciate the many options for integration, particularly how we use the Checkr integration directly from the Recruiting/Onboarding section to keep all electronic records in one place. The General Ledger feature has also been a huge time-saver by simplifying uploads into our accounting software.

In addition, Paylocity’s customer support has been responsive and helpful whenever questions or issues arise, which makes implementation and ongoing use much smoother. I also appreciate the continued enhancements around AI and automation tools, which help improve workflows, reporting, and overall productivity across our organization.e.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

One challenge we have encountered is that many of our smaller 1–8 employee companies cannot utilize the Benefits Enhanced integration, which requires us to manually track benefit deductions. This creates additional administrative work and increases the potential for human error. Expanding this functionality to smaller groups would greatly improve efficiency, accuracy, and overall ROI for both our team and our clients.

While we understand this is currently a system limitation, it would be beneficial to see future enhancements or AI-driven automation options that could help support smaller companies in managing benefits more seamlessly. We do appreciate the support team’s transparency and willingness to explain limitations and provide guidance on alternative processes when needed.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity provides seamless payroll processing, centralizes employee records, and aids in training tracking. I love its ease of use and the integration options, like Checkr and the General Ledger feature, which streamline processes and reduce manual effort. It keeps our processes efficient and organized.

  ### 18. Robust LMS Features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam W. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I use Paylocity HRIS Software, specifically to administrate the LMS. Paylocity makes it easy to create and assign LMS courses, measure training results, and run scheduled reports. I really appreciate the detailed reporting dashboard, which is a major upgrade over our previous LMS. It can track various fields such as time spent in the course, quiz answers, date of completion, date of assignment, employee ID, branch, and location. We switched to Paylocity for their sleeker user interface and improved mobile app. The initial setup was very easy for us.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

I think their communication to customers about upcoming updates and changes could improve. I have trouble receiving these emails to my inbox, even though I've asked to be added.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity simplifies creating and assigning LMS courses, measuring training results, and running reports. The reporting dashboard offers insights into time spent, quiz answers, and more. I also use it with HR software to track hire dates and position changes.

  ### 19. User-Friendly with Room for Customization

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vyvyenne J. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I find Paylocity generally very user-friendly and easy to learn. The customization is very similar to other systems I've used before, which is a positive for me. Coming from using ADP and other platforms, Paylocity is as easy as, if not easier than, any other I've used in my 30+ years of doing payroll.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

The ability to customize more areas of the system would be very helpful. The categories of the document library are limited to what Paylocity provides, and it would be nice to be able to create ones that are more specific for our company. Also, with any customizations, we would like to be able to run reports off of those fields. The learning and onboarding platform, along with time and labor, could use some customization and setup changes, too. The implementation is very short and limited.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity handles storage, legal regulations for payroll, and tax filing, making these processes smoother for us.

  ### 20. All-in-One HR Solution with Great Pre-Made Reports

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arturo M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I use Paylocity for HRIS at work and I like it because everything is in one place, making it easier to update employee files, manage onboarding, recruiting, schedules, and time off. I appreciate the various modules it offers, especially for Learning, where I can assign courses to someone, and the HR and Payroll sections, which let me see everything I need all in one place. There are a lot of pre-made reports to choose from, which I find very useful.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

I have trouble with custom reporting. If I want to figure out something specific, I don't always know the settings and the report produces an empty file. I wish it was more intuitive to use. The premade reports are great, but often when I am running a report I build, I need to go back and redo it a few times before anything is produced.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity keeps everything in one place, offers various modules and pre-made reports, simplifies HR and payroll tasks, and lets me assign courses easily.

  ### 21. Powerful Integrations and Onboarding, but Customer Support Needs Improvement

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

They have a lot of capabilities and I love the ability to integrate other sites. I also really like the onboarding feature.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

The customer service is very lacking. You have a great program but your people take forever to answer the phone, some are very rude and others have simply given us false information to questions about capabilities to get us off the phone. You have to keep calling until you happen to get someone capable or go back and forth with the email service who are usually very nice and better than the phones. We have been left hanging by our

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Streamlining onboarding process and also keeping everything in one place so that multiple people or departments can work on recruiting and those using it don't have to use multiple different applications for different parts i.e. outlook and messenger and a file for notes. I just wish you had the ability to have a form available to be filled out and submitted tot he recruiting team.

  ### 22. Effective HR Features but Requires Flexibility Improvements

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeffrey Reyes E. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I like the reporting features of Paylocity. It's more welcoming than some of the big competitors, which I appreciate. The learning curve was pretty short, and I appreciated that. The initial setup of Paylocity was easy for me and my team.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

Paylocity has several severe limitations. If we don't use their time and labor tool, we can't manage how many hours employees can use PTO, sick leave, etc. for a single day, and there's no way to track documentation properly. For example, I have to go through each employee's uploaded PDFs to figure out their disciplinary actions and their severity. It also does not support an attendance point system. I feel like I get told 'no' more than 'yes.' We have to have several different time-off leave types for each state and municipality or position, which gets cumbersome. It would be much easier to manage under one leave category with many municipalities instead of having pages worth of leave types.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Paylocity for leave type accruals management, employee documentation storage, and compliance. The reporting features are a highlight for me.

  ### 23. Paylocity--better than I expected but room for improvement

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I’m a new Paylocity user after coming from a very strong ADP Workforce Now platform, and the transition has definitely been a trial by fire. Even though there have been a few hiccups, whenever I call customer service for assistance—usually with unexpected payroll issues—I’m able to reach someone who understands what I’m dealing with and can help me get it resolved.

One feature I really love is the garnishment service. It saves me a lot of time and frustration because I can scan the garnishment/child support order, drag and drop it, and then Paylocity calculates the deductions and completes the response forms on our behalf. I’ve also been made aware of other features I’m excited to start using, like the learning module and the ability to set up FAQ responses for employees to use. I’ve only been using Paylocity for about eight weeks, but overall it’s been better than I expected.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

One thing I’m not a fan of is that the standard approach for getting help is to go to the knowledge base. With other platforms, I’ve been able to share my screen and have someone walk me through system changes; here, I’m either reading directions from a document or having someone on the phone blindly guide me through the process. As I’ve become more familiar with the system, some of it has started to feel intuitive, but certain tasks are still hard to locate and sometimes seem tucked under topics where you wouldn’t think to look for them.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Garnishment feature is, by far, the best thing I’ve seen so far about Paylocity. Previously, I would spend a lot of time calculating deductions, then keying those deductions in, setting up vendors in the payroll system to issue payments to, and so on. If the learning system works similarly to the ones I’ve used in the past, I’ll be very happy with it. I’m also aware that, for my CA employee base, I have the ability to set up new-hire processes that include ALL of the required CA handouts. I haven’t initiated this process yet, but I’m looking to do so soon.

  ### 24. Intuitive Interface and Helpful Support, but Consistency Issues with Case Ownership

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I like the interface of Paylocity, it's mostly intuitive. I also really like being able to call and have the customer support walk me through any process that I am unsure of. The customer support team is able to mimic my view so they really know exactly what I see to explain the steps.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

I don't like having to re-explain my story to a lot of people when I don't get a specific support person. Example: the PTO accrual process was not working as expected, every time I called in, I had to re-explain the story of how it does not work for our company. It took a few years to finally get someone to follow through and assign me a specific person to resolve my issue. The hardest part of this issue was that it was year end critical, which is when Paylocity service reps are the busiest.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our "problem" with payroll is multi state payroll. Paylocity makes reporting easy by sending the payments to all the allocated agencies without making us login to several portals to complete the schedule (monthly, quarterly or even weekly payments). They also are able to tell us which other local taxes are required for the different states which takes out the guess work and research from our internal team.

  ### 25. Paylocity: Effortless Payroll with Stellar Reporting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lori K. | Payroll Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I like the ease of use and the report writing features in Paylocity. It's great that I can create almost any report that's not standard, and if the information is in the system, I can get it out without having to call or pay for custom reporting. The implementation team was awesome and really helped us create what we needed, the way we needed it, and they got our history transferred over.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

I dislike the new people search. I preferred the Classic Search

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Paylocity for HR/payroll management and employee onboarding. The ease of use and ability to create almost any report without extra costs makes it very valuable.

  ### 26. Clunky Integration, Too Many Manual Steps, and Hard-to-Reach Support

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I like the look of Paylocity. However, a lot of other features I do not like. I thought the integration was clunky. I work with onboarding and I like that, but there are complications internally and externally. I do not believe that there is an AI / Intelligence feature. I am also not sure about the pricing but our COO went with Paylocity because it was cheaper than Paycom. Overall, the performance of the platform is fine, but, it does sign you out randomly.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

I think that there are a lot more manual steps, which seems outdated. There is no AI feature for help. Customer service is hard to get a hold of. The implementation team and process did not go great.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can't think of any specific problems as we used to use Paycom and we now use Paylocity for all of our hiring, onboarding, and other Hr Processes.

  ### 27. Seamless Payroll and Stellar Customer Service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ramon l. | F, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I really appreciate how Paylocity integrates with our 401k company, making deductions from employees' pay seamless. It's great that they don't nickel and dime us when extra payrolls need to be processed. The platform is easy to use, especially when cutting payroll on payday. Paylocity’s seamless integrations with outside vendors for employee benefits deductions are a big plus. The customer service is amazing; whenever I call, someone who understands my problem picks up, unlike my previous experience with a competitor where I had to be transferred between multiple departments. Paylocity makes the setup easy, and they were with us every step of the way, ensuring we were ready for the first payroll. We even had multiple meetings to get familiar with using the product before going live.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

Its hard to say what I dislike since I have had a great experience since I switched over from a competitor.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity integrates with our 401k, allowing seamless payroll deductions. It's easy to use with an amazing customer service and no nickel-and-diming. The platform simplifies payroll processing with a step-by-step approach and doesn't require transferring calls for support.

  ### 28. Effortless Onboarding and Robust Reporting with Paylocity

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Olga H. | Human Resources Intern, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I love how Paylocity makes our onboarding process so much smoother and allows us to collect more data from new hires before they even start. The integration with other systems is seamless and has been a huge help. The data analytics and reports are fantastic; it’s so much easier to report out to my executive director and board of directors now compared to our old system, where pulling reports was very time-consuming. I appreciate how easy it is to access information with the dashboard, which shows headcount, terms, hires, turnover, and OT immediately—it's incredible. The initial setup was very easy, and as an HR department of one, I found them very understanding and gentle with me.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

I get confused sometimes by the different profiles and permissions people have. I struggled a lot with having directors only few certain staff members. They couldn't see them at all or could see people who were not their employees.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity smoothens our onboarding, allows data collection before start, integrates well with systems, makes reporting to executives easier, and provides an easy-access dashboard for headcount and other metrics.

  ### 29. Exceptional Customer Service, Minor Invoicing Hurdles

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patti I. | Accountant II, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I like Paylocity's customer service because someone is always available to help and they have a thorough knowledge of the product. It's very professional and polite, and a huge time saver since I never have to be transferred when I call for assistance. Their understanding of the product makes Paylocity a breeze.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

Invoicing was changed from each pay period to a monthly invoice. This is a big adjustment we have had to make on tracking.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Paylocity for payroll, especially one-off paychecks. Their customer service is excellent, saving time as I never have to explain my needs repeatedly. They're knowledgeable, professional, and polite, making Paylocity smooth to use.

  ### 30. User-Friendly and Efficient, but Needs Easier Login

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anna O. | FMS Service Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I use Paylocity to clock in and out of my job and find the clock in and out feature very convenient. It's also helpful that it rounds up or down to the next quarter. I really appreciate that I can easily request time off, check my PTO balance, look up my pay stubs for tax purposes, and check my hourly pay rate. The software is very user-friendly and super easy to use. It was extremely easy to set up initially for my team and I. Overall, it's just really great to use, and I really enjoy it.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

I think the login could be a lot more convenient. It's like a three-step code type system, which I understand for security purposes, but sometimes I get logged out. Also, the password needing to be reset often makes my tasks a little bit tedious. I guess just the IT issues, sometimes if there's a lag or it doesn't work, I'm not sure if that's a Paylocity thing but sometimes that happens.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Paylocity to manage clocking in and out, request time off, and access pay stubs easily. It solves my PTO balance uncertainty and helps track work hours for tax purposes.

  ### 31. Paylocity’s App Delivers a Great End-User Experience for On-the-Go Employees

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melissa C. | Director of Human Resources, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I love the end-user experience. We chose Paylocity because we wanted an app with more and better features for our employees. We know most people prefer using apps, and many of our employees are on the go, so it’s especially helpful when they’re out of the office. With the app making so much possible, they really don’t have an excuse not to get things done anymore.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

The time-off feature is a pain. We were used to real-time accruals with our previous system, so this has been frustrating. I understand that an update is supposed to be coming soon, and we’re excited for that improvement. Another drawback is that we have less control over certain parts of the system than we did with our old provider, especially when it comes to benefits administration. I'd like to get some of that control back instead of having to reach out for these things.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They’re improving the time-off feature, which is huge for us. Our employees were used to a system that handled time off well, so reducing that confusion is a big plus. We’re also excited about how the payroll onboarding feature works. It’s designed to be completed BEFORE the employee starts, rather than after, which is what we were dealing with previously. That shift in the process helps guide employees through everything we need them to do, so nothing falls through the cracks. We’re loving the E-Verify feature as well. It has dramatically improved the time it takes to complete I-9s and removed obstacles for remote workers. Another thing is the performance reviews. WOW is that an improvement. The time it took for me to build a review with all new questions and rating scale and launch it from having zero previous experience was incredibly fast, maybe an hour or two at most.

  ### 32. Streamlined HR with Room for Better Support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nilisha R. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I really like how Paylocity replaces multiple tools in one platform, improving communication and engagement, and centralizing employee and business data tools. Using it means less admin work and fewer errors, and there's way less back and forth between systems. The self-service portal is fantastic because employees can serve themselves rather than chasing HR. Also, the initial setup was pretty straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

It is extremely difficult to contact the account manager. It takes almost 30-40 minutes every time we need to contact them for a question or a solution, which has been quite frustrating. I wish we could get a follow-up call or a reference number for email; that would be easier and less frustrating.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity automates HR workflows, offers a self-service portal, and enhances compliance. It consolidates tools, centralizes data, improves communication and engagement, minimizes admin work, and reduces errors and system navigation.

  ### 33. User-Friendly and Easy to Navigate, with Lots of Reports

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Corey A. | Payroll Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

It’s very user-friendly and easy to navigate. It also offers a lot of reports, which is helpful. Their customer service is generally very helpful, although sometimes it depends on the knowledge base of the person you’re speaking with. Running payroll is very easy, and overall they provide good service and products. We run a weekly payroll, and it goes smoothly every week.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

There are too many new reports, while the older reports are much better: they’re easier to run and they provide better results. At times, they make a lot of changes that they call “improvements,” but they don’t feel necessary. Also, they don’t always inform us about all the changes they’re making (formats, reports, etc.). The changes just appear, and then you have to deal with them afterward. They should communicate more clearly and consistently about what’s changing.

The help desk is okay, but sometimes you’re at the mercy of the person who answers the call and their knowledge base. We recently added a new company, and the implementation was not handled well overall—from sales, to implementation, to adding new team members.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are helping us with our job cost processing.

  ### 34. The best part of Paylocity is the customer service via phone

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cam M. | CFO/Controller, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

All updates are done on the site before I even have to call and ask and the agents on the phone are able to quickly help with new reports needed or issues with inputs

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

Easy to use chat tool on the site and possibly the ability to save things on a main screen, that we use consistently and maybe the ability to change the colors and backgrounds.

**Recommendations to others considering Paylocity:**

Try it out and see how much easier than other platforms and also when calling in for support you are not being upsold to anything like other companies have done

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to easily creat biweekly payrolls and have a system that works and balances quickly with great reports needed. Love the fact that the quarterly reports are there for us and also that these are filed for us by company too.

**Official Response from Hannah Elger:**

> Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback! We’re glad to hear that you’re enjoying your experience with Reporting. We are continually making improvements to deliver the solutions you need, and we’re happy that our products are helping you achieve your goals. ### 35. Efficient Payroll System with Excellent Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karen S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I appreciate Paylocity's general ease of entry and straightforward structure, which allows me to manage multiple lines of business efficiently. I also value their excellent customer service; the staff is always available and knowledgeable to assist with uncommon queries. Additionally, I like the cost efficiency, which was a factor in switching from our previous system, ADP. The transition process was smooth overall, making onboarding relatively hassle-free.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

I would really like to see some type of user group - it seems like changes just happen, without a lot of notice or input from users. It would be very nice to be able to discuss both like, dislikes, and future enhancements as a group rather than having them just occur.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity handles different pay structures, bonuses, referrals, and employee queries, ensuring correct payments. The efficient setup allows me to manage varied business lines quickly, with knowledgeable support available for complex issues.

  ### 36. Efficient Payroll Processing, Needs Better Support

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Catherine D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I like the ease of use for processing payroll with Paylocity. Also, the integration of Time and Labor, captured with tablets as kiosks, helps speed up payroll processing because it eliminates the manual entry of hours.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

I struggle with service responding or offering solutions; I seem to get simple responses, not helpful suggestions. Even if they are looking into a request, a response should be within 2-3 hours; suggestions for alternatives if there are system limits would be helpful. It would be encouraging if steps were taken to improve system limitations or functionality. During the initial setup, there should be more involvement with people who know how the system works on a regular basis. We could have resolved a lot during implementation if that were the case. A clearer outline of the steps involved and more time to tie out the data from the prior system would have been better, as it seemed rushed.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Paylocity for managing payroll and capturing labor hours efficiently. It simplifies payroll processing with its easy-to-use interface and integration of time tracking via kiosks, eliminating manual entry and speeding up processes. The reporting is better and more useful.

  ### 37. Communication Challenges and Delayed Responses

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Veronica Tess M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I like Jesse Micheals with Paylocity he attempts to speak to me as if my business matters, which is an important aspect for me in terms of communication. However, his kindness and the carry over the rest of the Paylocity teams is not consistent.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

I'm frustrated with Paylocity's handling of issues, especially the failure to lift the wire required review in March on pushing back to April without any explanation. Their communication style feels like they're talking at me instead of with me. There's not enough empathy or true support when addressing problems—it's more like unwarranted rhetoric. The initial setup was challenging too, and overall, there haven't been any aspects that worked especially well for us. I wish they'd stop delaying solutions and provide appropriate feedback as if they care about solving issues.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It should resolve wire requirements lifting as initially stated, but issues remain unresolved. Which effects my bottom line to make payroll.

  ### 38. Aesthetically Pleasing and Easy to Use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samantha F. | Director of Human Resources, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

It was very aesthetically pleasing as a platform. Employees were able to easily use it and all the features it had to offer. As the employer there were a lot of great reports we could pull. Viewing time cards was easy. Being able to have a community section to praise employees was very nice to have. Overall one of the nicer platforms. We had demoed a few sections that would have been very useful given the demographic and organization we serve.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

There were a lot of little things such as being able to pull multiple paychecks. The reps constantly changed and would reach out asking if you wanted to buy something or add something to your current product. PTO was a nightmare as far as setting up policies. Having a designated account manager is nice but it was often changed. Switching from Paylocity was not easy, there is not a lot Paylocity does to help with the transition. Workflows were also very difficult to use and manage.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At this time none of the problems we have had have been resolved which is one of the reasons we have moved away from Paylocity.

  ### 39. User-Friendly and Intuitive, with Continual Improvements

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eliel P. | HR Generalist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I like that Paylocity is very user friendly compared to other platforms I've used. I work with employees who are not tech savvy at all and they have been able to learn how to use the app. The website interface itself is intuitive and easy to navigate. I also appreciate that Paylocity is consistently improving the platform and adding new features which shows the effort to stay up to date and adapt to new technology.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

The onboarding tools have a lot of room for improvement. Compared to other platforms, the onboarding workflow and overall interface are not as intuitive or streamlined. We have had to rely on additional systems and resources alongside Paylocity to complete onboarding tasks, which is not the most convenient but works for our organization. The benefits administration feature exists, but it has not been usable for us based on guidance we received, so we are currently exploring third party solutions instead.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At this time, I have not seen any features that would benefit our organization specifically. Most of the value would come from overall improvements to the platform and existing tools rather than new, specialized functionality.

  ### 40. Effortless Setup with Stellar Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica U. | Senior Manager, Customer Service, Non-Profit Organization Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I really appreciate the support feature through our assigned account rep, which was super helpful during our transition back to Paylocity. They made sure everything lined up smoothly, preventing any user frustration. The performance review section is great, and I also enjoy the easy function to journal during one-on-one conversations with employees. It's easy to track in the system and there's the flexibility to make entries viewable to the employee or keep them private to the supervisor. I also appreciate being able to build performance reviews from scratch or use built-in features, which helps us share them with the employee ahead of their review. Lastly, the seamless way for supervisors to approve or edit timesheets and the lack of a need for a separate tracking system for journaling is fantastic.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

I've only run into one recurring situation, and I don't know if it's just on my mobile device, or sometimes I find it in the browser as well. But when I'm going into request time off, sometimes the way the calendars show up on the screen, it's really hard to maneuver to the next month. I'm not seeing the arrow to maneuver to the next month. Or if the window isn't completely open, it doesn't give me the submit option. So sometimes I have to close out the calendar, go back in, and then I see the submit option.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity saves us time by eliminating manual processes for open enrollment and card entry, ensuring accurate deductions and a seamless way to manage and approve timesheets.

  ### 41. Decent Interface, but Terrible Service and High Pricing

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lindsay B. | Director of People and Culture, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

It’s fairly easy to use, and the interface is decent overall.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

Service is terrible. They all point fingers at one another and it's almost impossible to get anything accomplished without raising hell. The performance functionality is not helpful. The AI functionality is basic at best. Pricing is high for what we get.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The only thing it's proven truly helpful for is payroll. The benefits solution is clunky and they never build our plans right and the service with their FSA team is AWFUL. We alo have several integrations and consistently have issues with those.

  ### 42. Paylocity’s Engagement Tools Strengthen Our Company Culture

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Haley D. | Accounting Admin, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

Paylocity has proven to be extremely helpful for my company. One of my favorite features has to be its strong employee engagement tools. It offers surveys, peer recognition, and several other options that help support and build our company culture.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

One frustrating aspect of Paylocity—honestly the only one for me—is their customer support. I’m not sure what their training process looks like, but the responses I receive can be inconsistent at times.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In my role at this company, Paylocity has helped streamline HR tasks that used to be time-consuming and prone to errors. Because Paylocity automates processes like payroll, onboarding, and time tracking, it has significantly reduced the repetitive administrative work I have to do.

  ### 43. Challenging Setup, Unreliable Support

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marissa M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I find the recruiting feature to be good. Also, clocking in and out is easy.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

The support team needs work. There are some good project managers but sometimes, I end up coming up with a solution for problems. Our specific account manager is never available. I have been working on one problem for almost a month and have had to repeat myself almost every time I reach out. The system's reports were wrong at one point, and the response we received was 'we know but there's nothing we can do.' We started integration with time and labor, and they set up our timecodes wrong, and they still have not corrected this. The initial setup was not easy.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Clocking in and out is easy, but other features are not user-friendly.

  ### 44. Paylocity: Exceptional Service, User-Friendly, Highly Recommend

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katrina L. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

In my 40 years in the payroll/HR/benefits game, I have used a lot of different systems and Paylocity is by far the best. They continually update their systems and are open to customer feedback. The service level is better than any other I have used. I really appreciate that we needed a special calculation for our commission-based sales employees and they were able to make it happen. The system is very user friendly, and as the administrator, you feel as though you have control. The learning module is awesome! The initial setup was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

I wish the employee deductions would have an end date when you terminate an employee. We have a lot of rehires and have had a few issues with deductions starting when we rehire before they are eligible

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity handles special calculations for commission-based employees, is user-friendly, and gives me control as the administrator. The service level surpasses others I've used, and they welcome customer feedback and updates.

  ### 45. Easy Navigation and Engaging Community, but Reporting Still Feels Manual

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

It's easy to navigate throughout the platform. You're always a click or two away from where you want to be. I like there is a Community space for employees to engage. As we are expanding our recognition efforts across our company, the ability to create custom badges is nice. In the Community space, new announcements can be shared via email which helps drive engagement.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

Paylocity's reporting is not as optimal as other systems I've worked with. It's still very manual and I often run into issues that seem to take longer than they should to resolve. I also wish the Community feed operated more like Slack...

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are getting paid and we're able to keep employee profile's updated in Paylocity which is solving a fundamental need for us.

  ### 46. Streamlines HR and Payroll with User-Friendly Tools

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Holly D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I use Paylocity for all HR and Payroll functions, and it makes hiring and onboarding employees easier. I love that it streamlines the payroll process and automates the entire HR and Payroll process. It's so much easier to use, and everything is in one place. What stands out most for me is how extremely user-friendly it is, with a great 'help/knowledge' section. I get answers to questions quickly and easily, saving time without having to call customer service for simple fixes.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

I don't have any complaints or suggestions for improvement at this time.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity makes hiring and onboarding easier, streamlines payroll, and automates our entire HR process. It's user-friendly, everything's in one place, and it saves time by not needing to call customer service for simple fixes.

  ### 47. Needs Improvement in Integration and Setup

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashley B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I use Paylocity for Time and Labor, HR, and Payroll, and I appreciate that it keeps everything in one place. I like that Paylocity is a work in progress and always learning. I use the supervisor board most to see what approvals are pending, which I find valuable.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

The fact that time and labor does not talk to HR and Payroll and vice versa. Also, being able to send notifications other than just a missing punch notification would be great. We have to manually load from our other software, so no integration is a downside. We are still finding kinks almost a year into it.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity keeps everything in one place, making our operations more organized. I frequently use the supervisor board to see pending approvals.

  ### 48. User-Friendly Yet Needs System and Support Improvements

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristen P. | Finance Manager, Medical Practice, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I find Paylocity's interface to be user-friendly. I appreciate the step-by-step guidance for payroll which makes it easy. As someone who is newer to payroll, I found learning the program to be simple to understand.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

The system is slow, and shuts down a lot. The Paylocity support team does not seem to understand the program itself when reaching out for guidance and system changes. I feel users should have the capability to create their own reporting without needing to reach out to support. I feel additional training for the support teams is needed, and work out the bugs in the programming.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity streamlines payroll and project financial reporting with a user-friendly interface and easy step-by-step guidance.

  ### 49. User-Friendly with Stellar Customer Service

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Angie E. | Interim CHRO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 31, 2025

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I really like Paylocity for its ease of use for both admins and employees. It is simplistic and not complicated for either party to use. Things are pretty straightforward to find. It's less expensive than other systems, which is great. The customer service is also a plus since it's easy to get a hold of someone, which reduces frustrations for my team.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

I find the reporting and performance management and goals aspects of Paylocity could be improved. The reports are often generated incomplete, and the standard reports do not provide enough information, and you almost always need to edit them. There is also a $250 charge for them to do a custom report...

The performance management/goals sections are not user friendly and there is no automation to them, especially for a 30/60/90-day review for a new hire - that needs to be sent manually. An automated process would be nice

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Paylocity for payroll, time, labor, and full HRIS needs. It reduces manual work with EDI files for benefits and automations for recruiting, ensures compliance, and is less frustrating for the team. Overall, the system does what we need it to do. Some more advanced features would be nice as we continue to grow, but it works for our current needs.

  ### 50. Effortless Onboarding and Payroll Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carla H. | Controller/HR/Payroll/VP, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 31, 2025

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

Paylocity has proven to be extremely helpful when it comes to onboarding new employees and managing payroll. The onboarding process is straightforward and user-friendly, which helps save time and minimizes mistakes. Processing payroll is also intuitive and efficient, allowing for accurate and confident completion each pay period.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

The most challenging part of using Paylocity has been the time clock kiosk feature on iPads, which has not performed as well as we had hoped. This has led to difficulties for employees when clocking in and out. To address these timekeeping problems and enhance reliability for our staff, we have decided to order a kiosk directly from Paylocity in hopes that it will provide a better solution.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity addresses the challenge of managing HR information scattered across various systems and paper files by bringing all human resources records together in a single digital platform. This centralization has enhanced organization, made information more accessible, and increased efficiency, all while decreasing the need for paper.
