What do you like best?

Paylocity easily checks the boxes for running payroll. It has the flexibility and attention to details for unique circumstances to address even the most complex of payroll needs. What attracted us to the service was the extensions. They appeared to be working toward greater integrations for other services such as FSA management, and even building out their own technology for items such as a learning management system. We also saw acquisitions of other technology that was related, if not fully integrated with their solution. I believe the Performance and Reviews module was separate technology, originally. We liked that Paylocity was working to give us one area to work within for all these employee related items. To their credit, I believe they've continued to work with great strides to make these integrations more seamless and connected with every upgrade. We've only been a customer for three years, but we have seen significant ongoing improvements, and we very much appreciate they finish what they start for each module before running off in a new direction. What do you dislike?

There's no significant thing we dislike about the service. It's complicated. And, as such a large robust system, part of their onboarding should be a more thorough review of how to use their technology several months or even after the first year. Oftentimes, changes to technology are announced and implemented in the system, but you truly don't know the full value or how to take advantage of it. They are relatively active on putting out information and education, but a more hands-on tutorial for new features could be an improvement. Their support team is excellent, although sometimes we have to dig a bit deeper with them, rather than just a first response. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Continue to educate clients on how-to use the system as upgrades are released. Remove content on your knowledge portal and self-help areas that are out of date. Clients could self-support and dig deeper with more tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have vastly improved how we manage payroll, allow employees to self-service many former tasks, and we've fully embraced the onboarding module. The latter has saved our team significant time, decreased liability for missing any regulatory and even security related steps, and is just a great archive of all the information. We have started to explore the learning module, and for our size company we see value in that. It's in the infancy so as integrations with 3rd parties grow, we will likely see greater value. The ease of integration with our benefits provider for health, dental, vision, retirement, and FSA programs is very nice. And, we've moved a few more services over to Paylocity because of this. What do you like best?

It was very easy and there was a unique, educated team member to help with each area of transition. I love the access we have to all kinds of reports. We are solving many issues. The main issue that was solved is the ability to allow everything dealing with Payroll and Human Resources in one location. We have a separate HR and Payroll department and Paylocity allows us to use the same system to reduce duplicating and triplicating information entry and reducing errors. Also, Paylocity integrates with our health insurance carrier as well as our 401(k) carrier which is a very inciting addition to their product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Paylocity delivers a full-featured, intuitive user interface combined with consistently reliable performance. The system has allowed us to seamlessly consolidate HRIS and payroll functions and provide a robust platform to handle all of our HR needs. The partner integration with our benefits providers has generated numerous efficiencies and allowed us to save time - and money. The biggest problem we solved with the implementation of Paylocity was visibility into all aspects of human resources management. Our company has multiple departments, and Paylocity allows me to give specific department managers access to the information and applications they need to effectively manage their teams. The user interface is visually appealing and intuitive, greatly shortening training. With the integrated application-tracking and electronic onboarding, our business has easily trimmed more than 2,000 man-hours from our previous manual processes. What do you like best?

1. Paylocity is much more user-friendly and mobile-friendly that our prior systems. Security features within the time and labor module allow employees to clock using very specific geofences or from any location as their manager deems necessary.

2. Performance management function is robust.

3. LMS has some pre-populated content available on compliance and management topics.

4. Recruiting is much more streamlined than prior systems. You can track both active applicants and passive candidate leads without being overcomplicated.

What do you dislike?

There are a few very tiny things that were lost in the move from our prior system.

1. Employees cannot submit their own missed punches for approval.

2. Employees with direct deposit cannot elect to receive paper paystubs individually (all or nothing).

3. Employees who used our prior Paychex timekeeping system and were frequent break takers really miss the "shift duration" functionality for tracking time to get to an 8-hour day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Your goals are of course important in choosing the system - we specifically wanted a tool that would be interactive and mobile-friendly so our staff could self-serve. What do you like best?

Paylocity if very fast at working woth your team to fix any problems you might have with employee fils, onboarding, taxes you name it and they know what they are doing. If there is a problem you can always get someone on the phone or email. They are very good at answering your emails and on the phone they are very clear and will go step by step with you to fix anything you need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

I love that it has multiple module options, which helps consolidate many of our needs to one platform. If the modules can't do what you need, Paylocity will hear you and do what they can to make it happen. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The implementation process could be smoother and you have to remember to be very clear with your needs. Follow through is required too, so I keep a list of open items and enhancement requests to make sure I follow up if I don't hear an update in a timely manner. It is important that you make your expectations clear and are very detailed about your needs with the industry you are in and the state where you are located. The Performance Management, Time and Labor, and Learning Management Systems modules could use some enhancements, which I've already submitted to Paylocity. Regardless of any issues that have come up, the overall product and customer service surpasses any other payroll/HR platform that I have worked on. Paylocity is headed in the right direction of where companies need to go to meet the needs of their business and their employees. What do you like best?

I really like Paylocity’s community module- it provides our company with an intranet to post announcements and celebrations and automatically posts anniversaries of employees. It has really helped us communicate in ways we were not able to before. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The reporting capabilities. We need so much more and can’t get it. They expanded so fast that they seemed to have bought modules from different places and they don’t all talk. I assume this will also improve but for now it is frustrating. Additionally, there is not a lot of flexibility for our workforce needs like banking holidays. If you require heavy outside of a very small box reporting- this may not be the right option. Otherwise, it is a good, lower cost option that keeps improving with time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The web benefits portal we are working with Paylocity on to understand where the information comes from and why errors appear. One tiny field can affect everything. What do you like best?

It is an easy system to use. Very intuitive, and there is a lot of support with quick answers and available people to help if necessary.

The mobile app is really easy to use and most of our team enjoys their access right at their fingertips.

Paylocity is constantly evolving and we don't always get notified of some of the changes they implement which can cause issues. What do you like best?

Paylocity is very user friendly. The best feature is how easy the payroll system. I really like they do trials on new add on to see if you like it, they did this for their Survey section it was a big hit. Paylocity is very user friendly with anyone no matter the age range. There are many individuals within our organization that are older and not tech savvy that has stated how easy it is to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Some issues are with the compliance videos that has been brought to IT attention. I also dislike there is not digital signature for performance review. Not being able to provide a digital signature is unfortunate and if we are trying to be paper friendly this does not pan out the best way. One other thing regarding not being able to provide a digital signature is it does not alert the reviewer that the employee has completed their self appraisal. It would be very beneficial if they implemented the capability to provide a true electronic signature as opposed to a time stamp signature. One feature we have access to but do not use is the scheduling function. As we would like to use this functionality it is not easy to figure out. What do you like best?

Self service platform, 24/7.. but the best part is interacting with actual live people. Each time I've had the opportunity to contact Paylocity (during their business hours), I've always enjoyed the personal - human - touch. It's so rare these days with true customer service support that is either chat's on another vendor's website hoping you get the right response and find that they refer you back to square one. With Paylocity's service provided, you get a live human being who actually communicates effectively and wants to resolve your concerns. And each time I've contacted them, they've always come through. What do you dislike?

There's not a lot I can say I dislike actually. I always joke with the representatives I speak with and inform them that if only other vendors like Quickbooks online can have the same human-touch service ability as Paylocity, there would be happier clients all around. Being new to the platform as a new user with our start up company will always have challenges as we navigate through our growth. It's always great to know we can email our dedicated contact "Theresa" or one of her team members to assist us.

What do you like best?

One of the most helpful aspects of Paylocity is their customer service. I love having a dedicated account rep that knows my company and understands our needs. I don't have to take time explaining my issues each time I call in for assistance because he is already aware of our structure and any unique aspects of our business. What do you like best?

The implementation with Paylocity was quite painless. I was amazed with how quickly and accurately they loaded our data into their system. There were a few glitches (as there are with any transition) but nothing that they couldn't correct pretty quickly. The system is very easy to use; the report writer is awesome & their customer service has been excellent!

Update: The turnover with customer service has been challenging because we don't seem to have the same contact long enough for them to get to know us and our needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I am not completely satisfied with the time off tracking portion of the system.

What do you like best?

Paylocity is by far the best payroll platform I have used. They have excellent customer service that are skilled in various areas to help you truly customize your platform and how you use it. They are extremely knowledgeable in compliance and payroll laws. They are quick to resolve any issue you may have. The functionality of the system is well thought out and easy to use for your HR & Payroll teams, Managers and employees. Sometimes when they role out a new platform, its clearly created by a developer and not from the insight of a Payroll or HR Manager. Also it can be one way of thinking, leaving the company to find alternatives to a process. This hasn't been too much of an issue for us, as we are always looking to improve our process - Paylocity has taken our feedback and have made improvements over time. We went from multiple platforms when doing payroll, talent management, benefits, and reporting. Since moving to Paylocity we have increased the number of platforms we are using and so we went from multiple systems to 1. Paylocity makes it easy for all of our team members to use, we can quickly pull reports, have an automatic and 360 communication feed with our 401K vendor, we have employment history and payroll history at our fingertips - we don't have to go digging for the info. What do you like best?

Paylocity's interface and support staff remove any potential complications to a myriad of payroll functions; if any troubles are found, they are some of the best trained and informative engineering staff we've worked with on any similar product. We had some complexities involving hardware integration for time-keeping, and they were able to give us direct access to their engineering team to troubleshoot and integrate their product with hardware that was a bit outside of their usual deployments. There are some complications to functions related to employee time-keeping, although their product team will work with you to find the best approach to match any use case you throw at them. The complexities involved with deployment did lead to some head-scratching moments on both ends, but in the end they were both informative, open, and easy to work with to achieve the goals we were set to accomplish with deployment. What do you like best?

Does everything we need it to do (time keeping, time off, holidays, payroll, employee recognition, reporting, onboarding, file retention, etc. etc.) and it does it with visually compelling graphics and dashboards. As we have compared other competitors in the space, Paylocity is giving us the best deal which has secured our loyalty even more. Great Customer Service as well. Managing our 300+ headcount is a comfortable size for Paylocity's solution. We went away from another company because we outgrew their comfort level of what they could do and offer us. I like to speak with my account representative and I'd rather not type it out in a message then have to say it again if we have a phone call.

What do you like best?

I like the courses they have for you to learn about what's new or how to do a task in Paylocity. I also like the new features and the new look when I have to search for a team member and doing payroll is a breeze sometimes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Payroll, I like how simple it is to complete payroll, most systems are a little tricky! Also, keeping up with the company's information, along with our team member's information. I can usually find everything I'm looking for when trying to complete a certain task.
