**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I use Paylocity for Time and Labor, HR, and Payroll, and I appreciate that it keeps everything in one place. I like that Paylocity is a work in progress and always learning. I use the supervisor board most to see what approvals are pending, which I find valuable.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

The fact that time and labor does not talk to HR and Payroll and vice versa. Also, being able to send notifications other than just a missing punch notification would be great. We have to manually load from our other software, so no integration is a downside. We are still finding kinks almost a year into it.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity keeps everything in one place, making our operations more organized. I frequently use the supervisor board to see pending approvals.

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I like having a designated account manager that knows our company and our needs who is readily accessible. I like the way the system is set up - it's functional and easy to learn. We can use as much as want or as little as want.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

The ease and usability of the scheduling function could maybe be improved to allow people who are not as tech savvy to start using it and implement it. I heard that the initial setup was long and challenging, especially transferring everything from our former system (Assure). I don't that anyone onboard then was very good with systems though. There are so many layers that we often don't realize what effects what. For instance, we now need to go through our whole system and reorganize the position to ensure the labor allocations and departments are correct because they're connected to our cost centers which is connected to how we bill which has negatively impacted our audit... The problem is also turnover within the company that causes a disconnect each time. It's imperative to know what the system is doing and why it's doing it or the user can unknowingly mess a lot of things up.

Paylocity helps us update archaic setups, teaches us what does what and how best to use for our needs, create rules and custom reports for our needs.

I think it’s pretty simple to figure out, and everyone in customer service is very helpful. I have used the people search option which was very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

Sometimes they update Paylocity and I don't know where new items went or other tabs moved around. Sometimes Paylocity crashes and it doesn't work.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping me solve how to find employees and where certain employee files are. I feel like we are getting our moneys worth.

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I find Paylocity's interface to be user-friendly. I appreciate the step-by-step guidance for payroll which makes it easy. As someone who is newer to payroll, I found learning the program to be simple to understand.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

The system is slow, and shuts down a lot. The Paylocity support team does not seem to understand the program itself when reaching out for guidance and system changes. I feel users should have the capability to create their own reporting without needing to reach out to support. I feel additional training for the support teams is needed, and work out the bugs in the programming.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity streamlines payroll and project financial reporting with a user-friendly interface and easy step-by-step guidance.

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I really like Paylocity for its ease of use for both admins and employees. It is simplistic and not complicated for either party to use. Things are pretty straightforward to find. It's less expensive than other systems, which is great. The customer service is also a plus since it's easy to get a hold of someone, which reduces frustrations for my team.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

I find the reporting and performance management and goals aspects of Paylocity could be improved. The reports are often generated incomplete, and the standard reports do not provide enough information, and you almost always need to edit them. There is also a $250 charge for them to do a custom report... 

The performance management/goals sections are not user friendly and there is no automation to them, especially for a 30/60/90-day review for a new hire - that needs to be sent manually. An automated process would be nice

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Paylocity for payroll, time, labor, and full HRIS needs. It reduces manual work with EDI files for benefits and automations for recruiting, ensures compliance, and is less frustrating for the team. Overall, the system does what we need it to do. Some more advanced features would be nice as we continue to grow, but it works for our current needs.

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

Paylocity has proven to be extremely helpful when it comes to onboarding new employees and managing payroll. The onboarding process is straightforward and user-friendly, which helps save time and minimizes mistakes. Processing payroll is also intuitive and efficient, allowing for accurate and confident completion each pay period.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

The most challenging part of using Paylocity has been the time clock kiosk feature on iPads, which has not performed as well as we had hoped. This has led to difficulties for employees when clocking in and out. To address these timekeeping problems and enhance reliability for our staff, we have decided to order a kiosk directly from Paylocity in hopes that it will provide a better solution.

Paylocity addresses the challenge of managing HR information scattered across various systems and paper files by bringing all human resources records together in a single digital platform. This centralization has enhanced organization, made information more accessible, and increased efficiency, all while decreasing the need for paper.

I think the save buttons should always be visible and minimally in color. Also when employees approve a timesheet, I like when it changes colors so they know its approved vs just the small check boxes.

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

We are able to keep all of our record-keeping systems within a single application. We use it for payroll, HR, compensation, time and labor, benefits, and COBRA. Having everything in one place makes it much easier to navigate and accomplish tasks efficiently. Our customer service represenative is amazing and so helpful when we have questions or need help with something.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

Our company uses 11 different pay rates, and currently, there is no way to update these rates except by doing it manually, which takes a lot of time. Paylocity is aware of this issue and is working on a solution, but they have not been able to resolve it yet.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity is working to solve the problem of not being able to review pay rate requests for additional rates. Right now everything is entered manually by our HR administrator after its been approved by the CFO in a spreadsheet. We are working with Paylocity to get this fixed but no solution has been what we need yet.

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I like the integration with Unanet and the reporting capabilities around payroll in Paylocity. The connection allows us to import time and expenses efficiently, and the GL report set up during implementation has made payroll journal entries more efficient than before. These features save us time and, as a result, money.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

Employees at Paylocity seem to only be available via email and don’t often understand the context of the issues that we have when presented via email. We have requested phone calls multiple times and they just keep delaying that or acting like it’s not possible. Some of the recent matters where we have requested phone calls involve tax implications with the IRS so they are important.   The payroll/accounting side of integration was fairly easy, even though I caught an order of operations problem on pay codes involving overtime factors and shift differentials. However, the HR/onboarding side was painful for another team at my company according to them.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity allows us to import time and expenses for payroll, making payroll and the associated journal entries more efficient. The integration with Unanet saves us time and money.

With the performance module especially, things do not always autosave as they are supposed to.  We have begun typing our responses in a Word document and copy/pasting to the performance module so we don't lose the info if it is not saved properly

Payroll was a no brainer when we started using Paylocity.  But the Performance Management module was a game changer for us for employee performance reviews.  The ease of assigning both review and peer feedback is awesome.

I love the mobile app feature because I am more efficient when I can take care of tasks on the go. Specifically, the ability to see and approve time off requests even when I am out of the office is great. I can clock in and out from anywhere as I perform many tasks out in the field.

I wish I could do more with the recruiting feature on my mobile app

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

It has everything I could possibly need as an HR professional, including recruiting, onboarding, training, performance reviews, time and labor, and payroll. At my previous employer, I was using different systems for each of those areas, which made things more complicated. Paylocity makes it easy to keep everything in one simple, user-friendly HRIS.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

So far, I haven’t found anything negative about Paylocity. Whenever I run into an issue, their AI chat is very helpful, and I can also call or email support and get a quick response.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Benefits administration is one of the biggest areas where Paylocity has streamlined the process. During open enrollment setting up EDI field transfers. I had little involvement. Paylocity took care of connecting with out insurance providers.  W-2 forms were taking care of by Paylocity and mailed out to our employees as well.

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

Paylocity service department is very responsive. Any issue that needs attention is resolved within a short amount of time....like a day or two. Tax issues do need more time and attention so I don't expect a quick turnaround, but Paylocity service does follow up if more time is needed. When calling Paylocity service, I do appreciate the revised phone tree. I can now speak with someone dedicated to reporting instead of service having to get back to me with an answer. This was also helpful when we were going through 360 vendor integration.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

I would like to see Paylocity create a community page or use the Client Hub to notify clients of any outages. I find it cumbersome to call service, wait on hold for about 30 minutes just to find out that an outage occurred but the system is back up and running. This would save me time as well as Paylocity service. I would like to see more refined communication when a $1 million wire has been received by Paylocity.  Paylocity does a great job in notifying the client of a needed wire for $1 million payroll or payroll tax by emailing the wire information using the Proofpoint secure link in addition to a phone call and email directed to me. But when I need confirmation of the received $1 million wire from Paylocity, it is "crickets." I hear nothing. I must reach out to Paylocity via phone or email to find out if the money was received. This process needs more transparency.

Paylocity has combined two different software products into one for our organization.  Before Paylocity, our organization was handling both a timekeeping system and a payroll system.  Now both work under the same platform and our employees have one password instead of two.

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I like the streamlining of Payroll, Benefits, Performance, Recruiting and Onboarding.  These all work well for us.  It really makes my job easier.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

Time and Labor Module.  There seems to be a little confusion with PTO used and balances due to the timing of closing the payperiod.  I wish it was better streamlined with HR/Payroll.
Benefits Module.  I wish when we are doing our renewal set up we could have a more efficient way to contact our account manager.  Sometimes a quick phone call can solve things a lot faster than trying to email and sometimes you may not explain things well in an email.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have never had a HR Managmenet Software so everything was done manually.  We only had Quickbooks for payroll purposes.  Paylocity has been very nice to streamline all payroll, benefits, recruiting and onboarding.

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I like that the payroll process in Paylocity is not complex and doesn't take long, making it efficient to navigate through tasks. The employee engagement features are great, providing ways to give recognition and create a community. The electronic onboarding, which is currently being set up, seems comprehensive. I also find the reports very handy. The payroll process now automatically imports time and labor via the same Payroll Run module, making it easy to navigate to the employee profile or time card for adjustments and return to the payroll run module. Real-time adjustments such as pay rates, direct deposits, or tax changes are updated even when the payroll batch is already created.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

The Web Link feature for the benefits integration can be a little glitchy due to how Paylocity is structured for deduction codes compared to what Fidelity has. They don't match and I get error messages whenever there is an update. Also, with the FSA, the Web Link shows a duplicate error message when the payroll deductions for the FSA take place after payroll is submitted. The initial setup of Paylocity was not easy and was actually painful.

I use Paylocity for payroll, onboarding, and benefits integration. It simplifies income withholding and enhances employee engagement. The payroll process is quick with real-time updates, and it offers features for recognition and community building. Reports are handy, and electronic onboarding is comprehensive.

I had trouble with health and benefits and ended up not moving forward with the product.  The team was disorganized and inefficient.

We do not have issues with onboarding anymore!!!  It is easy for our employees to understand their policy accounts.

Paylocity has made our payroll process much easier and more streamlined compared with the platform we were using before.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

I do have one minor issue: they can’t set their system to reflect EST for a PTO request, which I find rather odd.

**What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paylocity has taken our check processing to the next level from our previous platform. It has given our employee's a portal to go to for updates, and has relived me, as HR, of some of the minimal tasks I had.

Custer support is very good but not great.  Sometimes you get a newbie on the support line - so I'll politelty hang up and call back to get a more experiences support person.

Paylocity is comprehensive and as a result it streamlines my work load freeing me up to do other HR tasks.

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

The reports and report builder.  I can run any data I want or if they do not have the report, it's easy to build any report I want to run.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

They keep changing everything too much.  When something works fine, there is no need to change.  I hate how they changed all of their colors from orange to black.  The colors are so depressing when trying to do payroll.  I also hate how talking to an employee at paylocity, they won't help you and try to get you to read some peak article that still doesn't help.

The only new change I am excited about it they are bringing changes to the mobile app where employees can change their direct deposit themselves and not have to log in on a computer or have me do it.

At this point nothing. Cost is bad, service is bad and software is bad. There is nothing to like

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

A year in to our relationship and couldn't be more disappointed. First off our account manager dropped us after 4 months saying he would be with us the whole way. He is still at the company just not servicing our account so nice bait and switch there.

They told us a bunch of things during our implementation that were not true. We even caught them pretty clearly in a lie and they tried to gaslight us saying "I know it is confusing but that was not the intent" even though it was said extremely plainly. They ended up giving us a discount for the pricing discrepancy but kept saying they were not admitting they were actually incorrect.

Had to take tax payments away from them on the first payroll because they handled it wrong.

You never get your actual account manager when you call support it is always some random and you have to pray they are helpful (about 10% of them are). Today the agent on the phone told me I should not change the settings for employee account permissions because it doesn't actually work and will create problems and that I should instead reach out to the security team as they cannot change the settings. The security team has a response time of 3-5 business days..... Now my employee cannot run payroll till they get back to us.

Every time you ask them about something "oh they just told us that is how it is set up and we cannot change it". $15k a year to just have nothing work

Timeclocks is the only thing they are doing semi effectively and even that is requiring a bunch of manual fixing

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

The ability for employees to update their own information, like address, direct deposit, tax forms, check stubs, edit and approve timecards, and benefits. The home page is easier to read and get things done.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

In time and labor, it would be great to also see the time off request for employees when looking at their timecard. Have their time off request show like when they make time card corrections. Allowing managers and admins to review it without leaving their timecard. When approving their timecard under Employee Approval, that Adjustments get approved when they select all the employees at once and approve their timesheet. 

Would be nice to see when the last time an employee updated their tax status under tax setup, instead of going to documents and looking up their last update if available.

The reporting sections. That has improved a lot in the last 2 years. Also adding AI to the system.

**What do you like best about Paylocity?**

I find Paylocity to be a very consistent and dependable software for payroll processing. Any issues have been addressed and resolved quickly. I especially appreciate the team assisting with implementation, and Tami Young is just amazing and wonderful! Marc Stephan is also fantastic; he responds quickly and ensures we get the answers we need, if he doesn't have them on hand. In the Timecards, it would be great if the team member's supervisor was listed there so we weren't constantly going to other places to get that information. I wish we could control how long we are logged in as Time & Labor kicks us out at very consistent intervals.

I like the idea that Paylocity allows us the opportunity to store all our HR files in one platform instead of having to bounce from place to place.

The implementation process has been a nightmare for our team. Specifically, Paylocity was more focused on their "standard procedures" than paying attention to what our company needed from the jump. We even allotted for 3 extra months before our "Go Live", yet the Paylocity Implementation team sat on their hands for those 3 vital months that would have significantly helped us considering the company I work for and represent has been around for 21 years and has never used any sort of HRSM - everything is stored in hard copies. We are just starting to enter the digital age, and since we were starting with a basic blank slate, we should have been able to customize our Paylocity Platform for the needs of our company. Our implementation team didn't do that and just wanted to follow "Paylocity's procedure" and now our entire system is piecemealed together. It doesn't work the way we need it to and no matter how many times I complained and suggested we just start from scratch when we had the chance, no one at Paylocity wanted to listen to me. It is highly frustrating that the system doesn't work the way we need it to and we have spent COUNTLESS hours on our end - we had 2 or 3 switches on our implementation point. 

I also highly dislike that Paylocity doesn't seem to be working for Human Resources professionals and making things easier. There are so many areas that are completely wonky and don't make any sense which is highly odd because Paylocity has been around for decades. I don't know what happened to our account but it has not been the easy, seamless process, and the customization we were promised never happened and it's too late now.

I think the only thing I dislike is there is no follow up system where the different departments follow up with you for what you purchased after on boarding. It would be nice to receive a call or email asking how things are going and if there are things we need help with still or are not sure about to get us connected.

I find recruitment much easier with Paylocity. Payroll can be easy once you're trained, and I appreciate being able to track documents and maintain tax compliance. Having everything all in one place is a big benefit. I also see a main advantage in sharing, collecting, and processing data across companies.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

Currently our emails are not going to several departments including sales, changes in the software are more up to date on ChatGPT than they are in the internal Knowledge Base; better keyword tracking to solve issues in that database would be an upgrade. I think workflows can be complicated for a single user that takes over HR duties prior to the initial training. Generally, it makes sense to call a representative if issues are piling up.

Paylocity simplifies recruitment and payroll, makes document tracking and tax compliance easier, and centralizes data sharing across companies. It addresses issues with employee access and accruals but can be complicated to navigate without proper training.

I find Paylocity to be awful with no service or support. We were sold this product as a better solution to our HRIS needs, but it has been nothing but a disaster with total self-implementation and zero support before or after. The salesperson lied about the support we would receive, and attempts to escalate issues have gone unanswered for over six months. The promised services for HR and Payroll do not deliver. The reporting, which was supposed to be a robust, customized solution, is confusing. There's absolutely no support in learning the system, dealing with problems, or finding responses to issues. I can't get anyone at Paylocity to return my calls or emails. Also, promised integrations can't be done. The initial setup was very difficult, and I've had to figure out everything on my own.

Paylocity offers no service or support and fails to deliver on its claims, particularly for HR and Payroll needs. Implementation was self-driven without adequate assistance, and the promised integrations can’t be done.

Paylocity is an interactive payroll platform for both hourly and salary staff, it offers communication with their cell phone app that allows easy communication to all staff. The cell phone app allows  an ease of integration for all employees to input time, select time off and communicate with their payroll colleague.  The customer support always has answers to my tough questions.   Paylocity offers the technology needed in today's fast pace work environment.

I have used the platform for many years and call in but have not spoke to my account manger.  It would also be nice to place a name to a face for my account representative.

Paylocity offered a onboarding program that allowed the new employee complete all the needed paperwork before day one on the new job.  The ease of the cell phone app puts employees in the "drivers seat" for all their payroll needs.

Service time is great. I have never been on hold more than 5 min and my emails get answered within 24 hours, but usually faster. They are very thorough with compliance. They fixed tax problems we didn't even know we had with our previous vendor.

The lack of admin access. Many things have to be submitted through the service desk. Sometimes it would be quicker and more accurate to do it ourselves v. trying to explain the individual complexities of certain policies. On the other side, if a request is made via service, the response is instructions how to do it yourself. Additionally, the PTO display to employees is often confusing.

We moved vendors because we needed better customer service and Paylocity has delivered that. Even when things do not go according to plan, they are quick to find a solution and are always willing to help!

I don't like that features are always changing, not clear communication things changed, and it is hard then find what I'm looking for as the help articles are not that helpful.

Payroll is easy to do, although again, it changed to when you approve time cards, the default period is now the current period, not the pay period you were approving-again no warning, so now I need to be cognizant that I have to go back a pay period.

Their customer service is among the worst I've ever experienced. Customer Support lines are frequently a 20+ minute wait. Service reps seems to read from a script and cannot or will not take into acount procedures I've already attempted or other critical details of the problem. Response time when they have to put a support ticket in is often 2+ weeks, and I've had tickets lost completely.

Paylocity offers a very custom buildout. During implementation the flexibility of the platform is really showcased and you can build and refine custom codes, reports, and workflows.

**What do you dislike about Paylocity?**

The reporting feature is quite cumbersome and not enough time is dedicated to training on it. There are multiple ways to build custom reports (stock reports that can be moderately customized and saved, Dynamic Reports, and Report Writer) so finding what you're looking for is diffcult. Report Writer's UI is especially old-fashioned and bloated.

The one-on-one work with our finance team to build something that seamlessly integrates with our accounting software has been amazing. It saves a lot of time for labor distribution especially.
