**What do you like best about SuiteProjects Pro?**

What I like the most about Open Air is that, once you get used to its interface, you have everything you need to create your projects, book team members, assign tasks, monitor time entries, and approve the check ins. Also you can keep track of the planned hours to be invoiced to your clients.

Uptime and performace is very good. In a year it is very rare to experience technical issues. Very stable platform.

**What do you dislike about SuiteProjects Pro?**

I find improvement opportunities in the UI, that can look intricate and complex at some points. The reports feature would be better if it were more flexible when building pivot tables, just like Netsuite is flexible in this feature (Analytics).

Another improvement is to add AI features to help the user write their time entries and enable a feature to integrate easily with other apps via MCP

**What problems is SuiteProjects Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having everything in one place to handle every part of the project Management and operations process (IT services), including integrations with BambooHR, and Netsuite itself

It is a okayish software for project management and budgeting. We mainly used it for filling timesheets and tracking project hours.

I hated the UI, I was glad when we moved over to Adobe WF.

We are no longer using this software. Although, when we were using it, we were using it for tracking project hours and it used to help us in forecasting.

This is a wonderful platform where I can share my Weekly TimeSheets with my manager for approval. I can add my business expenditures in the pdf to that week to get approved for refunding which is simply amazing. I don't need to create a timesheet sitting on Friday remembering the work I had done that week rather simply I can save the timesheet without submitting it to the manager daily.

Now and then I will face a glitch even after saving the data in the timesheet it doesn't get saved and I lose the data I have added to that timesheet.

I don't want to create a new timesheet every week when I perform the same work for a whole month simply i can clone last week's timesheet which is simply amazing.

**What do you like best about SuiteProjects Pro?**

OpenAir is a robust PSA.  There are many great project management features that can drive task management, timesheets, expenses, billing, forecasting, and resource management.  OpenAir is highly customizable.

**What do you dislike about SuiteProjects Pro?**

Account Management - The Oracle NetSuite account management team is the worst vendor our company deals with annually.  Buying a used car is less painful than simply renewing our services annually or adding a new license.  Keeping happy customers is not their priority.  Pricing is always discounted, but discounts seem arbitrary and made up.  Account management appears to be managed out of the Philippines and it often takes days to get a reply from our account manager.  Every year, you must negotiate via your account manager who has no authority to approve any pricing and must go to someone else and get approval for everything.  Your cost could jump 20% year-to-year with no changes to your service.  We started with a 70% discount from the list price (with a 3% annual escalation cap for the first few years).  After that initial period, it's the wild west on pricing.  In our latest renewal, our account manager suggested we reduce our license count to our current utilization level (makes sense), yet the resulting price she came up with by eliminating 15 licenses was effectively the same price as keeping our license count as-is... How does that make sense?  If you make any reductions in service, you "lose" any discounts and must start over negotiations.  Also, with the proposed reduction in licenses we would then be at our max user count, and to add additional licenses between your renewals, we would have to negotiate pricing on those licenses separately.  To simply add one user license, it may take weeks to get it added.  Doing business with Oracle Netsuite is a challenge.  If only pricing were straightforward and managed in a portal.

Reporting - OpenAir reporting is highly technical.  If you are an engineer that understands the back end database, it can sometimes make sense.  Even then, most of the time you are forced to export data from OpenAir into Excel and work the data to get the reports you want.  There are very few default reports that are helpful.  You would think for a project management tool that there would be basic reports for common functions, but that is not the case.  Everything must be created and built and hope that they can meet your needs.

Integration - During the sales process, integration was glossed over.  "A simple export and bam it's in to QuickBooks, quick and easy."  Lies!  When OpenAir had a standard QuickBooks integration (they no longer do), it worked poorly - we ended up not using it because it was not reliable.  OpenAir is an enterprise system and a robust integration project is required to connect it to whatever system you use for billing.  This can drastically increase your deployment costs, so be careful to get all the facts before starting an implementation of OpenAir.  API access is not included and is an additional cost.

Configuration - OpenAir has hundreds of "internal switches" that one must know about and work with support to enable or disable.  There is some configuration you can perform without contacting support; however, it's hard to understand your configuration options unless you do research in support libraries with a specific need.  This makes implementing and making changes to OpenAir on your own difficult (but not impossible).

User-friendly interface: simple to navigate, self-intuitive
Filtering options: the ability to use advanced filters
Reporting feature: allowing to pull information from different modules, providing a database of templates
Admin feature: allowing easy modifications of the custom fields, project interface, etc.

**What do you dislike about SuiteProjects Pro?**

Reporting is comprehensive but does not allow some modifications (pulling subproject and parent projects)
Filtering is extensive but takes too much time to adjust
Field synching between different modules requires a custom script
Late project email notifications require a custom script

Open Air provides access to reports that were not able to elicit from our previous system. Its integration with NetSuite provides instant updates to both systems

The budget planning tools are not flexible enough to meet our company's needs, and we only realized this after almost a year into implementation. 

 Some aspects of navigation have been confusing for our staff. For example, a tab name will be colored Grey even if it is accessible. Staff continually have a problem navigating from tab to tab because they assume if the title is grey they cannot click it. Another confusing thing (for me as an Admin) is that the terminology for a particular item can differ depending on which module you are viewing it in. 

I have had to submit more OpenAir enhancement requests than requests for support on a problem.

Approval processes are more straightforward. HR processes are more streamlined.

Creating a new expense report from a previous one is quick. Once I figured out how to do the basics I can submit my monthly expense report pretty quickly.

**What do you dislike about SuiteProjects Pro?**

So much of the UI is just hard to figure out. The terminology doesn't mean what I think it does, the search functions don't work right, things that should be easy are hard to find. For instance, trying to delete a bad expense report that I didn't need. Took forever to find the magic drop-down with the delete option.

Click submitted at the top of the page and nothing shows. I had to show All from the top, then choose status = submitted to see just the submitted reports. So many little annoying things that just should work better.

I just submit my home office expenses that are exactly the same every month.  No benefits really, it's just how I have to do it at my company.

The ability to customize OpenAir to suit our many HCM custom fields was advantageous. It allowed us to effectively manage our billable resources with seamless integration with our HCM, Workday. OpenAir's timesheet and reporting capabilities were also easy to use.

The user interface took some getting used to, as did getting to grips with the reporting functionality. The newly released interface in 2022 seems to be a big improvement though.

An employee can go into Open Air and request time off, it is sent to their supervisor for approval. If approved, when the date comes it automatically populates in the appropriate time sheet. Additionally, timesheets are easy to populate, with the option to clone any previous week making duplicating sheets even easier. Expense reporting is also very straightforward and the employee is able to track who currently has the pending status and when the timesheet is approved for appropriate follow up.

The OA Connector. I had an incredibly frustrating 2 years working with the connector. It would break/stop for no reason, would promptly skip certain flows and also take a lot of time to run. It didn't help that my org was operating at a scale that OA wasn't built for(at least at that time). Having said that, the team has now delivered brilliantly with runtimes down drastically and reliability up to the point where I can rely on the connector to work fine and not wreck our team's month-end close even if I'm off to Hawaii for a pina-colada.
While I don't have any other particular stand-outs, the application as a whole has improved tremendously.

**What do you dislike about SuiteProjects Pro?**

No global search functionality(Especially for someone using OA alongside Netsuite)
Higher dependence(relative to NS) on the OpenAir PS team for more medium-advanced customization(Although this could very well have been a training issue in my org)
OA Connector - The latest changes to the connector make it harder to make configurational changes. I feel the previous version worked just fine without this added step and if anything, this also brings up potential corner cases due to the added complexity (It's been a while ago so my memory is hazy but there was one such case involving some custom fields and our inability to update the custom mapping because of some weird catch-22 situation after the 2020 changes)
After the 2020 updates, our org(which had multiple sandboxes and 2 live environments - different stacks) had issues with the NAM mapping of environments. I believe it used to handled easier in the past when we could append SB numbers to the end of the Org ID (I could be partially incorrect here as this was handled by my colleagues)
Inability to search through weblogs like in NS. This is particularly pertinent for my org since we had 100s of web services every minute thus making it incredibly hard to debug.(Sorting by duration helped a bit but was impossible when multiple large integrations/services were run side by side)

The automation of our Professional services workstream. This allowed our PM's and business leaders to look at PS in a much more granular way due to the way OA is designed as opposed to if we'd done it via NS.

OpenAir simplifies the process of starting each week with an option to create a  pre-defined timesheet based on your previous weeks' submission. Therefore if you are in similar projects or conduct similar tasks week to week, it's a simple matter of updating your time, not adding and removing tasks and project categories.

**What do you dislike about SuiteProjects Pro?**

At times, OpenAir is not intuitive and requires a lot of digging or experimenting to find what you need. For instance, it isn't easy to find a simple utilization report and also providing forecasts was difficult until a coworker walked me through the process.  This is just part of the learning curve for any new application, but OpenAir could be more intuitive or provide better labeling to assist with its usage.

Unattractive interface that was hard to navigate. We didn't need much functionality but there was no option to ala-cart services. When they raised the rate to $8k/month when I we used was time tracking feature, we quickly switched to other software.

**Recommendations to others considering SuiteProjects Pro:**

I think open air offers a great deal more functionality than what we needed. Ultimately we just needed something to track time and run reports on how much time was spent on certain projects. We didn't need it for billing, invoicing or anything else. They have been using it for eight years and then the rate went up astronomically. If your company needs all the other functionalities then maybe it's worth the high price tag. For us it was not and we quickly switched to something else.

It contains a lot of functionality that has been implemented over the last 10-15 years.

The system is ugly to use and still looks the same as it did 10+ years ago when I was using it.

In my opinion the entire interface needs a complete rework and modernisation. The system has some good functionality but my users avoid using it because of the user experience. They've even gone to the point of creating their own resourcing dashboard because the built in ones were ugly to use.

The API is also clunky to use compared to modern standards.
