Shopify is also SEO and mobile friendly for the most part. It also has lot's of plugins that help make other aspects of the business easy like ShopSync connects to Mailchimp and makes automated email marketing easier. **What do you dislike about Shopify POS?** Customization can be a challenge. But I also find that "Store Tasker" website helps with that - you don't have to be a developer yourself but this website has soooo many developer on it that you put out a project to them and you get to select the person to complete the project. I find it cost effective way to customize templates. **Recommendations to others considering Shopify POS:** It's an easy to use tool to quickly start an e-commerce site. **What problems is Shopify POS solving and how is that benefiting you?** The problem I was solving was how to create an e-commerce site for a startup business in the most cost effective and efficient way without compromising brand. I found Shopify an effective platform to do this. Some of the benefits i've noticed is the ease of integrating marketing tools which help to determine marketing efficiency and ROI. The customer experience is also straightforward. I think a lot of users are familiar with Shopify's layouts and checkout procedures that the familiarity makes it easy to use (no surprises). Whenever one calls them, one gets a real live person on the phone fairly quickly. The people who answer the phones are native English speakers and talk you through your questions quickly, clearly and accurately. I would have switched to Shoplify years ago if I had realized how much simpler it could be. I have been very happy with their service. **What do you dislike about Shopify POS?** I have a developer working to migrate my store from Big Commerce to Shopify. I am shocked to find out that there is no field to enter your cost basis for each product in Shopify. How are you supposed to run profit reports without the cost basis? For point of reference, I have about 1200 items **Recommendations to others considering Shopify POS:** Shopify can be a great option for small shops, especially. As I said before, one area where Shopify really excels at is its themes and design so you can have a great looking website out of the box with no coding or design skills required.the simplicity of shopify and how these is so little room for error when you are starting out. It’s great just to focus on getting the important things right and letting the minor details take a back seat.The company is pretty much hell-bent on making their interface the easiest in the industry. What's interesting is that they are walking a fine line, since it's still a platform that can satisfy those with more experience with coding and whatnot. I've triple checked with our accountant and she assured me that we don't charge tax for shipping. Also, It has a clean, easy-to-use interface. **What do you dislike about Shopify POS?** Professional reporting functionality is only provided on more expensive plans is a drawback which I feel is a negative point. **What problems is Shopify POS solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's not easy to export blog posts from Shopify. You can usually figure things out pretty easily. **What do you dislike about Shopify POS?** Shopify has so many updates all the time and there are so many glitches when using the POS system. The experiences app is also very flawed. See below answer for more details. **Recommendations to others considering Shopify POS:** Make sure you are comfortable with the experiences app and it doesn’t screw up your day to day with high strung customers upset that they’ve been over booked. **What problems is Shopify POS solving and how is that benefiting you?** We used the experience app through Shopify and had many issues throughout my year at candle bar. It overlooked parties and didn’t know how to update when someone rescheduled or received a refund so our business lost out on thousands of dollars of sales because Shopify Was usually inaccurate and would reflect that way on the website. Benefits are the customer support team is super nice and they try to make things very streamline. ### 31. The system insists that you have to have 13 digits for barcode entry whether or not the item has a 13 code UPC. This usually makes it so the item can then not be found because an extra 0 is added, therefore the item is not recognized by barcode. **What problems is Shopify POS solving and how is that benefiting you?** The benefits outweigh the problems.
