  ### 1. Strong Automation Features With Some Scaling Challenges

**What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?**

ActiveCampaign made it easier for us to handle marketing automation and lead management in one place without a steep learning curve. We originally migrated from Mailchimp after needing stronger automation and CRM functionality for more detailed customer journeys. The workflow builder has been one of the most useful features for our team, especially for campaigns triggered by form activity and page visits. CRM syncing has worked well, reporting is practical, and the Google Analytics integration gives us better insight into campaign engagement and website behavior. We have also used the AI features for content suggestions and subject line ideas, which help speed up campaign creation.

**What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?**

As our automations became larger, the workspace started feeling harder to organize, especially with lots of tags, lists, and workflows running at the same time. Some integrations also needed extra setup through tools like Zapier when we wanted more customized workflows. Pricing was manageable early on, but costs increased noticeably once our contact lists scaled. Support was decent for common issues, although more technical questions sometimes took longer to resolve. 
                                                    The AI features are useful for smaller tasks like content ideas, but they still feel limited compared to standalone AI platforms.

**What problems is ActiveCampaign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using ActiveCampaign we were handling email campaigns, lead nurturing and CRM follow-ups across separate systems, which created a lot of manual work and inconsistent tracking. ActiveCampaign helped centralize those processes through automation workflows tied to form submissions, page visits, and customer activity. It improved visibility between marketing and sales teams, reduced repetitive tasks and made campaign execution faster overall. The platform performance has been highly stable for us even when running our largest email campaign sends. The Google Analytics integration also helped us better understand engagement and conversion behavior, while the built in AI tools save some time during campaign setup by helping with subject lines and content suggestions.

**What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?**

What I like most is that the UI/UX is very clear and easy to use. It also has one of the best automation systems out there—I use automations a lot, and this is by far the best one I’ve worked with. I also love the CRM management: the way it filters tags and organizes everything about each contact into columns makes it very straightforward and simple to manage.

**What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?**

What I dislike most is the email builder. It’s clunky, hard to use, and not very intuitive.

Another thing I don’t like is the reporting system. The way it filters and displays metrics is difficult to understand and navigate. I’d prefer it to be more straightforward and focused on what matters, like email title effectiveness, open rate, and click-through rate.

Also, the campaign duplication feature could be improved. It would help if every duplicated campaign could be grouped into a single category so I can find them quickly, instead of ending up with an isolated copy each time.

**What problems is ActiveCampaign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CRM and automations are the main features I value most.

**What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?**

Overall, the user experience and layout are good. The automations are great and easy to use, and it’s simple to create campaigns and contact groups. There are also a lot of integrations available, which makes it even more convenient.

**What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?**

It would be great to have the option to attach files (for example, PDF files) to forms. Customer support works really well, but only in English (as far as I know). I’m also not a big fan of all the AI stuff, mostly because AC doesn’t support our languages.

**What problems is ActiveCampaign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A visual way of seeing things makes it easy to understand what’s going on at a glance. The platform is also easy to set up and customize to meet our specific needs, and it offers good possibilities for custom fields. Customer service is fast and responsive, and we don’t need external consultants or agencies to get everything running. It’s also easy to integrate with Leadfeeder.

**What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?**

With ActiveCampaign’s Pro plan, I can use conditional content to customize email copy based on each subscriber’s status, such as whether they’ve purchased a specific product. For example, when I send a newsletter, I add a postscript (P.S.) that promotes a product only to subscribers who haven’t bought it yet. I haven’t found another email marketing platform that gives me this same level of flexibility.

On top of that, ActiveCampaign offers advanced segmentation. I can group subscribers by things like how often they open emails or whether they have certain tags, and then send messaging tailored to each segment. Another big plus is its native integrations with many third-party tools, which further expands what I can do with the platform.

Overall, for these reasons, I really enjoy using ActiveCampaign.

**What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?**

The site loads slowly, and the pricing is higher than what competitors offer.

**What problems is ActiveCampaign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using ActiveCampaign, I can segment subscribers based on their email open behavior and, for example, send messages only to those who regularly engage with my emails. This helps improve deliverability and lowers the risk of my emails being marked as spam.

On top of that, ActiveCampaign automatically unsubscribes users who report my emails as spam, which helps keep my list cleaner. I also trust their ongoing efforts to optimize email delivery so my emails land in inboxes, including Gmail, instead of being flagged as spam.

**What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?**

After four years of running ActiveCampaign for both our agency and our clients, the automation builder is still the standout. The visual workflow editor makes it easy to map out multi-step nurture sequences, behavioral triggers, and conditional logic without needing a developer. The UI strikes a rare balance — powerful enough for complex CRM automations, but clean enough that a new team member can get productive in a day or two. Native integrations with WordPress, Meta, and our form builders have saved us countless hours, and the performance has been rock solid even when we're pushing larger sends for clients.

**What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?**

Pricing scales aggressively once you cross contact tiers, which can make it a harder sell for small service-based clients just getting started. The reporting dashboards are functional but feel a step behind competitors — exporting campaign data for client-facing reports usually means pulling into a separate tool. A few of the newer AI features felt more like add-ons than deeply integrated capabilities at launch, though they've improved. Onboarding for clients new to email marketing also has a learning curve; we typically build a custom guide to bridge it.

**What problems is ActiveCampaign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For our agency, ActiveCampaign is the connective tissue between client websites, lead capture, and long-term nurture. We've used it to build automated lead qualification workflows, win-back campaigns, and post-sale sequences that would otherwise require three separate tools. For LBM's own marketing, it's cut manual follow-up time significantly and given us a clear view of which content actually drives client conversations. The integration ecosystem means we can plug it into nearly any client tech stack without custom development, which is a major operational win for a boutique agency.

**What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?**

I bridge the gap between business requirements and technical execution and activecampaign makes it easier for me than most marketing automation tools i have worked with. It lets me builds very granular audiences using a mix of tags, custom fields, behaviors and site tracking data. From a solutions perspective, this is huge because it means i can personalize messaging at scale without hacking multiple tools. Navigation across the platform is mostly intuitive. core areas like campaigns, automations, contacts and deals are clearly separated and i learn where things live, jumping between tasks is fast.

**What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?**

Activecampaign delivers a lot of value for the cost when i consider that it combines email marketing, automation, segmentation, basic CRM and integrations in a single platform. That said, when i look at the ROI, the downsides are relatively small.

**What problems is ActiveCampaign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The lack of visibility into the customer journey is a major problem it solves it solves. It centralizes behavioral data like email engagement, form submissions, site visits, deal activity all in one place. For me, this means i can quickly understand how users are interacting across touchpoints and diagnose where drop offs or friction points occur. That context is extremely valuable when designing solutions and troubleshooting performance issues.

**What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?**

It is easy to use and makes managing email campaigns feel straightforward.

I like how reliable it is, especially when sending automated emails and follow-up sequences.

The automation features are really useful and save a lot of time.

It helps keep contacts organised, so it’s easier to send the right message to the right people.

The reporting and tracking tools are clear, which makes it simple to see what’s working

**What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?**

The contact limits can feel restrictive unless you upgrade to a more expensive plan.

It would be useful to have more flexibility with the number of contacts included.

Some features become costly once your list starts to grow.

The pricing can rise quite quickly as you add more contacts.

It's helping me collect leads for my marketing and then reach out to them quickly and professionally

  ### 8. 8 Years of Loyalty, Shut Down Overnight Without Warning

**What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?**

Robust functionality - great automations, sequences, etc.

**What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?**

I was an ActiveCampaign user for 8 years, from 2017-2025. It was fantastic - the functionality was very robust - the most robust I've ever seen. To the point where I started relying on email marketing as the main revenue driver for my business. 

So why am I giving it a 1-start review? 

Because in late 2025, my account was shut down for no reason, and without warning. When I tried to log into my account, I just got an error message. I had to reach out to support to find out what happened. 

At first, I thought it was an ActiveCampaign-wide problem. I waited a day, and tried again. No luck. I waited 2 days and tried again. Still no luck. After 3 days, I started to panic, and emailed customer support. It wasn't an ActiveCampaign problem. It was just my account. 

When I emailed customer support, they said they're looking into it. When I asked for a deadline, they didn't commit to anything. They usually get back to me quickly, but another couple of days had passed by, I've already lost a lot of money because of this outage, and still no luck. 

By this point, I started looking into other email marketing providers. By the time they got back to me, I already created an account at a different email marketing provider. 

When they got back to me, they told me that they're taking so long because it's the holiday season. First of all, bad excuse. The number of days off during the holidays are two: Christmas and New Years. 

Second of all, a lot of businesses (their customers) make the most sales during the holidays. This is not the time to work less hard on their end. 

Another couple of days had passed by (I had already started using the other email marketing software), and they told me that it was a mistake on their end that my account was shut down automatically. They reinstated my account, but by then it was too late. 

This was extremely poorly handled. If my account was shut down, I should have immediately received an email, explaining the situation, and something is being done about it. They should have also been a lot less casual about it. 

For a business that relies heavily on email marketing, a mistaken shut down should have been top priority. 

After everything was resolved, as a gesture, ActiveCampaign refunded me for one month of usage. Nice gesture, but I lost a lot more money than that, and I spent a lot more money than that on migrating everything from ActiveCampaign to the new email marketing software. Too bad that such a useful, robust, functional software treated a long-term customer like this, and messed up royally.

**What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?**

I've been using ActiveCampaign for my nutritional consulting business for 5 years now, and it's played a critical role in my ability to turn prospects into clients and ability to serve clients once enrolled in my program. It has the features and reliability that I need to be able to set-and-forget automations, and its user-friendly interface means that I can usually figure out new functions with little effort.

**What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?**

I only use the more basic features of AC and have a small list, so I find the price point a bit high for my needs and extent of usage of the platform. The last price increase was quite a large jump for a small business like mine that needs to keep expenses down to stay operational.

**What problems is ActiveCampaign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prospect nurture and client acquisition. Client communication.

ActiveCampaign is an all-in-one ecosystem that has allowed us to effectively manage lead data, customise email marketing and potential clients in our pipeline. The extensive automation triggers and custom fields are easy to use and do a good job. We also love how we don't have to use 3rd party integration tools for Meta ads, which now saves us extra costs

**What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?**

It would be helpful if ActiveCampaign had accessibility to a 30min zoom call with a specialist for general support like what was previously offered when we first signed up

**What problems is ActiveCampaign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ActiveCampaign solves our need to house data, nurture leads and trigger deal follow ups which was all previously done manually in our inbox
