The registration uses recaptcha that conflicts with the WordFence recaptcha. The only help I got was to turn off recaptcha on the entire site which would leave our site vulnerable to attacks. There was almost no problem solving and critical thinking when it came to helping me get my site live and allowing people to register. Even though i cannot launch and use the site I paid for, I am not able to get my money back. In addition, the plugin is incredibly slow when you are building a site. **What problems is LearnDash solving and how is that benefiting you?** LearnDash was supposed to host our Basics 101 course for our end users. We built the entire course in LearnDash and were ready to launch, but due to the registration not working and a lack of willingness to help solve the issue, we have now switched to a different platform. Therefore, LearnDash is not solving any problems for us. ### 3. Just recently, Chandni, from their support team, helped walk my client through which plugins and addons we would want based on their feature requirements. As for LearnDash itself, the platform is incredibly easy to use. It is also a plugin and not a theme; which is great because themes are generally more of a pain to customize and will often conflict with other plugins. **What do you dislike about LearnDash?** The only downside to using LearnDash in my experience is the loading time of some of the pages on the Wordpress dashboard, but that is also very server dependent. That being said it can take a while to upload courses purely based off that. **What problems is LearnDash solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm a webdeveloper; LearnDash has often been a great resource for general information about compatibility of plugins, and general support. There's even a setup wizard now which streamlines the whole process even further. The second feature I like best is the recent design upgrade that turned Learndash from being a fully functional e-learning platform into a slick learning environment that presents an extremely clear and pleasant experience for students. I would also add that the support is excellent. **What do you dislike about LearnDash?** Initially, in the early days, there was quite a learning curve to building a course, however, this has been resolved with LearnDash updates that have streamlined the course building process to the point that once you have the content, you can build a course in only a matter of minutes. There was also an issue in the early day's re-using course assets such as quizzes and lessons across different courses, but again this has been resolved with version updates and is a real timesaver making multiple courses. **Recommendations to others considering LearnDash:** I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Learndash. The pricing is more than fair and the product is robust and achieves everything you need from an e-learning platform. **What problems is LearnDash solving and how is that benefiting you?** LearnDash has solved the problem of quickly curating course content into a structure of Lessons, topics and quizzes. I can't think of a more streamlined process that also allows extremely easy course updates with drag and drop functionality across lessons, topics and quizzes. The benefits for site admins and course creators include extremely fast course creation, easy course editing, and many free additional add-ons. The benefits for learners and students are the pleasant interface that provides clear progress indicators and very nicely implemented features such as quizzes and assignment uploads. ### 13. I use the ProPanel add-on, and that doesn't solve things either. Enrolling multiple students in a course is a challenge, and I have yet to find a plugin that does that well with LearnDash. The focused learning experience along with the additional materials tab make it really nice as a learning experience. I've also incorporated into it **Recommendations to others considering LearnDash:** If you are looking for a self-hosted LMS solution that is powerful and flexible, then LearnDash is an excellent choice. The fact that it uses WordPress makes it very extensible. Make sure to understand first its settings and nuances so that you set it up from the beginning in a way that is best suitable for you. **What problems is LearnDash solving and how is that benefiting you?** LearnDash enables me to create and sell online courses and workshops to a large audience of students looking to learn WebRTC. By offering both free and paid courses, I can build an excellent sales funnel with it, getting students to understand the quality and scope of my classes before they commit to buying any of my paid courses. ### 15. Adding courses is pretty easy. They have good documentation to walk you through it as well. Modules and lessons are as easy to add as blog posts. You can even style them up with your favorite page builder (although we tend to use Gutenberg). **What do you dislike about LearnDash?** Some places can be hard to style the way you want them. I also wish we could add another level of depth for more in-depth courses. You can only add Modules and Lessons so if you need to break down lessons even further, you'll have to do it within one page. Quizes can also be confusing to set up, but luckily we haven't had a need for them yet. **What problems is LearnDash solving and how is that benefiting you?** We set up courses for our clients on WordPress websites. Using LearnDash, we can create a user-friendly system where the student can progress through the course and save their progress along the way. Mainly using free add-ons, we can do just about anything we need, including providing a custom student dashboard, branded styling, and membership login/logout links in the menu. For sites with simple membership options, we can even use the built-in membership ability to lock down content and collect payments on sales. The certificate maker enables us to dynamically add the student's name to a downloadable certificate that they can print out, and they look stunning! ### 16. A couple of times over the last year I've had to contact support with questions about how to do things. They respond quickly and with thorough and helpful answers. **What do you dislike about LearnDash?** I don't have a lot to say about dislikes. This option is very limited when you go for a built-in LMS like Teachable. You’ll hit a wall pretty fast if you want to do anything that doesn’t fit the mold perfectly on someone else’s platform. Full Control Over Your Platform Every second you spend building your self-hosted learning environment is an investment in its long-term value and you would not want to build your house on someone’s land, right? 🙂 LearnDash gives you the ability to control all aspects of your platform & full control over your system. Including all the content that you publish on your site. Awesome Community Support LearnDash has a very vibrant and active community on Facebook. It’s not an official support channel but here you will find some of the finest people who know the technicalities of setting up your LMS platform using this plugin. Many active LearnDash users can give you bits of advice and support. Timely Updates And Official Support Regular plugin updates, the latest major version 3.0 update is a proof & quality support via their ticket system, these are one of the most important factors before you rely on a tool to power your platform. **What problems is LearnDash solving and how is that benefiting you?** It can offer a fully functional LMS along with the ability to customize it according to your needs ### 27. Yet boarding and crossing fingers hoping nothing will ever happen is probably not such a relaxed way of traveling. The best thing is that one knows exactly what to look for in other airplanes. **What do you dislike about LearnDash?** Again, like the Boeing 737 Max, it is probably a good product when it is working properly. In our case re-login for students was impossible. Students/customers could easily purchase the product and register. Yet once logged out and trying to log in the whole process needed to be repeated all over again, sometimes including payment (...) **Recommendations to others considering LearnDash:** Unless one is a big account such a university or fortune 500 company I would search for other, better options. Entrepreneurs, (small) business owners I would recommend to stay far away from LearnDash **What problems is LearnDash solving and how is that benefiting you?** The support team is trying for 2 weeks (!!!) to get the login/logout issue fixed and leaving us in the meantime completely in the dark. Every 2/3 days we have to for a status report and all we get is a thank you for our patience. Needless to say that the only benefit we experience that this issue did happen BEFORE we brought our course on the market. Any entrepreneur or business owner can imagine what this would do for a company AFTER bringing on the market. ### 28. It is a light plugin that has a comprehensive library of add-ons. In addition, many developers have built plugins especially for LearnDash as well as themes that provide LearnDash add-ons. Finally LearnDash provides more than just the plugin, the blog posts are essential. They contain valuable information and tips that make the difference when creating content that is engaging. I have been with LearnDash from my Day 1 and also from their Day 1. The growth has been exceptional while also maintaining quality. I am small-time compared to logos of clients they boast on their website, but I consider LearnDash to be like a business partner in the ocean of trends crowding the e-learning world. **What do you dislike about LearnDash?** LearnDash really fits my needs and has responded to users over the years. I have no complaints. **Recommendations to others considering LearnDash:** If you are shopping for an LMS, start by really determining all the features you will need to attain the level of monitoring and automation that your project requires. LearnDash isn't only in the plugin business, but as an organization, they care about online learning, and that shows in their product roadmap, which is an amalgamation of user input and industry trends. **What do you dislike about LearnDash?** Lack of learning pathways. Right now, in order to achieve that functionality, I have to make 1 course with many modules/lessons. This messes up reporting as I no longer can easily factor those as completed courses since the courses are lessons. Also, scheduling reporting or background report generation. The raw report output is fantastic (and customizeable), so in conjunction with something like Tableau or Google Data Studio, I have all my reporting needs covered, it just takes far too long for the export to run. **What problems is LearnDash solving and how is that benefiting you?** Creating an external facing LMS. Off the shelf corporate LMS were designed for internal customers, so being able to build an LMS that is unified with an organizations website is huge for the user. ### 32. Support response within 24 hours and then happy to respond when requesting status updates for bug fixes; friendly support team. **What do you dislike about LearnDash?** Group Leaders do not have user role management capabilities and group sorting, as well as a few other restrictions. Has to be achieved via User Role Editor plug-in which in turn has to be managed with Adminimize to restrict access to the CMS (using with WordPress). No approx. ETA's on bug fixes. Unable to allocate Groups at WordPress user registration level. Feels like a few too many steps between selecting a course and beginning the associated quiz. **Recommendations to others considering LearnDash:** Compare quiz features with other similar products; compare reporting with other system to see if this matches your requirements. Check compatibility with your CMS theme. Add additional time into your development and build to cover any unexpected issues when testing the system, and fully test. **What problems is LearnDash solving and how is that benefiting you?** Transforms a system like WordPress into a learning management gateway, handled by the plug-in. The current setup is great when working within a course, as all associated content is laid out in the sidebar and easily accessible there. User experience is somewhat clunky, with multiple, repetitive clicks that detract from the experience. But don't buy it hoping that new features will be added to meet your needs.
