## Semrush Reviews
 ### 1. Semrush: Fast, Easy SEO Insights That Power Our Content Strategy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dennis M. | Lead Marketing Manager, B2B, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Semrush is an indispensable tool for our SEO and content marketing strategy. It is incredibly easy to use - the learning curve to start using its core tools is virtually non-existent. Semrush is extremely quick in giving us actionable insights into our keyword strategy and helps us identify areas for opportunity allowing us to execute an effective content marketing strategy. Its new AI visibility tools are also very useful in helping us develop our AEO strategy to capture AI search volume. The pricing is quite fair and is well worth it for the value it provides.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

Honestly, there isn’t much to dislike. The only thing is that the AI-generated reporting tool hasn’t quite worked for us yet. Also, there are a few specific features we’d consider using, but they don’t seem to be available on their own—we’d have to upgrade to an advanced plan. We’re just not 100% sure we need everything that comes with the higher-priced plan.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush is indispensable to our organic/SEO strategy. It helps us identify which keywords to target, where the biggest opportunities are, what our competitors are ranking for, and how we can improve our SEO overall. It’s also an integral part of our content marketing strategy.

 ### 2. All-in-One SEO Insights That Drive Smarter Marketing Decisions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Faith N. | Brand Operations Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

What I like best about Semrush is how much information it brings together in one place. It makes it easy to monitor SEO performance, research keywords, analyze competitors, and identify opportunities to improve website visibility. The platform is intuitive, and the reporting tools help turn complex data into actionable insights that support better marketing decisions.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The biggest challenge with Semrush is that the platform has so many features and data points that it can feel overwhelming at times, especially when exploring new tools. However, that breadth of functionality is also one of its strengths, and once you become familiar with the platform, it provides a tremendous amount of valuable insight in one place.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps solve the challenge of understanding and improving online visibility. Instead of pulling data from multiple sources, I can access keyword research, competitor insights, site health information, and performance reporting in one platform. This saves time, helps me make more informed marketing decisions, and allows me to identify opportunities to drive traffic and improve results more efficiently.

 ### 3. Semrush: All-in-One SEO & PPC Insights That Save Hours

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marvio A. | Senior Paid Media Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

What I like best about Semrush is that it combines keyword research, competitor analysis, site auditing, rank tracking, content research and PPC insights in a single platform. I regularly use Organic Research, Keyword Gap, Advertising Research, Position Tracking and Site Audit to support both SEO and paid media decisions for performance campaigns.

The interface is intuitive considering the amount of data available, and the reports make it easy to identify opportunities quickly. It has saved me countless hours compared to gathering data from multiple tools. I also appreciate the AI-powered recommendations and the ability to benchmark competitors across both organic and paid channels.

From an ROI perspective, Semrush consistently helps uncover growth opportunities that directly influence strategy, making it one of the most valuable tools in my marketing stack.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The main downside is the pricing, particularly for smaller businesses or teams. While the platform delivers strong value, some advanced features and data limits can become expensive as your usage grows.

There is also a learning curve due to the breadth of tools available. New users may feel overwhelmed initially, even though the onboarding resources and knowledge base are helpful. Occasionally, some reports can take a little longer to load when working with larger datasets, and I'd like to see even deeper integrations with other marketing and analytics platforms.

That said, most of these drawbacks are outweighed by the depth of insights and functionality the platform provides.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps solve one of the biggest challenges in digital marketing: making informed decisions based on reliable competitive and search data. It gives me visibility into keyword opportunities, competitor strategies, organic performance, paid search activity, and technical SEO issues from a single platform.

This allows me to identify opportunities faster, prioritise work more effectively, and support recommendations with data rather than assumptions. As a result, I spend less time gathering information from multiple sources and more time focusing on strategy, optimisation, and driving measurable results.

 ### 4. A great All-In-One SEO platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ariane G. | Lead, Search Engine Optimization, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Every tool within SEMRush has a clear goal and is well designed. It's an integrated tool that does a lot and is truely helpful, both for SEO and AEO, the main reason we use it. It's also easy to integrate the platform to company's Google tools. I use SEMRush everyday, whether it's to check performances, for keyword research or for ideas for content. I also use the SEO Content Template to start a content brief with the help of their AI suggestions.

I also use a lot SEMRush Site Audit section to check if we have new errors on our websites and it's really reliable.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

A lot of new features but most of them are added fees to our current billing. The cost of the platform is increasing year after year. Also, in the past, I had a customer support manager dedicated to our account, but it's not the case anymore. That is something I would like to have.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SEMrush is useful for bringing together a variety of tools within a single, easy-to-use platform. It's really easy to find opportunities or gaps, get specific recommendations and track any content published.

 ### 5. Powerful All-in-One SEO Toolkit, but Pricing Limits Multi-Client Scaling

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pablo C. | Co-Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

SEMrush has become an essential part of my daily workflow. I particularly like the technical SEO audit tool — it makes it easy to identify and prioritize site issues at a glance. The Backlink Audit report is also incredibly useful for spotting and disavowing toxic links before they cause ranking problems. On top of that, the suite of additional tools (keyword research, position tracking, competitor analysis) gives you everything you need in one platform.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The main downside is the pricing. As an agency, I'd love to use SEMrush across more client projects, but the cost makes it difficult to scale. More flexible or affordable multi-client plans would make it a much easier sell for smaller agencies managing several accounts.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SEMrush helps me stay on top of the technical health of my clients' websites and ensures their content remains visible in both traditional search engines and AI-powered search experiences. The audit tools and backlink reports save me significant time, and having reliable data in one place makes it easier to deliver measurable results for my clients."

 ### 6. Great tracking and AI features, but pricey extras

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Greg V. | Search Engine Optimization Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

The position tracking is accurate and gives reliable daily updates across different locations and devices. I also really like the AI citations and mentions feature, which is great for tracking how a brand is being cited across newer AI search engines.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The pricing for add-ons and extras is tough to justify. Charging significantly more to add team members, increase report limits, or use local listing tools makes the platform feel expensive quickly, and the ROI on those extra features isn't always there.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush solves the challenge of keeping up with daily ranking shifts across different locations and devices, which saves me from manual tracking and keeps our data accurate. It also addresses the newer challenge of monitoring brand visibility in AI search by tracking AI citations and mentions. The main benefit is having a single platform that gives both traditional SEO insights and a forward-looking view of how our brand is being found as search habits change.

 ### 7. Semrush Delivers Unbeatable Keyword Research and Local Position Tracking

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Courtney V. | Podcast Host - Tech-Savvy Dietitian, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

The keyword research and competitor analysis tools are genuinely hard to beat. Being able to see what my clients' competitors are ranking for, identify content gaps, and pull local keyword data all in one place saves so much back-and-forth between tools. The Position Tracking feature is especially useful for local SEO work since I can monitor rankings at the city level and actually show clients meaningful progress over time.
The site audit tool is thorough without being overwhelming, and the reporting is clean enough to hand directly to clients. For the kind of niche, service-based SEO work I do, Semrush gives me the depth I need without requiring a full-time SEO team to interpret the data.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The pricing is the biggest friction point. The base plan feels limiting pretty quickly once you're managing multiple clients, and jumping to the next tier is a significant cost increase. For a small studio or solo practitioner, it can be hard to justify the expense unless you're using it heavily enough to offset it.
The learning curve is also real. There's a lot packed into the platform, and it took time to figure out which reports actually matter for my use cases versus which ones are just noise. Some of the UI feels cluttered, and occasionally I find myself clicking through several menus to get to something I use regularly.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem it solves is consolidation. Before leaning into Semrush, I was piecing together data from multiple free and mid-tier tools to get a complete picture of a client's search presence. Now the keyword research, competitor intel, site audits, and rank tracking all live in one place, which saves time and makes it easier to build a coherent strategy instead of chasing fragments.
For local SEO work specifically, it's made client reporting so much cleaner. I can pull position tracking data at the local level, show concrete movement over time, and connect the dots between technical issues and visibility in a way clients actually understand. That makes it easier to demonstrate value and justify the work, which ultimately helps with retention.
It's also helped me be more confident in scoping projects. Having real keyword volume and difficulty data means I can set realistic expectations with clients upfront rather than guessing.

 ### 8. Powerful Keyword Research and SEO Insights That Deliver Results

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lauren S. | SEO & Web Development Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I like all the keyword research features and the ability to see keyword difficulty, intent, and search volume. It's nice to be able to see quick snapshots on the SEO dashboard. We integrate it with GSC and GA4 for extra insights. I've personally used SEMrush for over 10 years across multiple companies and it has always worked really well for me and I get the results I am looking for most of the time. I also like the email alerts for when something technical in SEO is incorrect.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I don't like how expensive it is when you're an agency. Also, every single tool costs more, like adding on modules instead of purchasing a full platform. So when you sign up, there are multiple tools available on the lefthand bar that you don't have access to and have to pay if you want to use them. It's a little misleading.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping us build individual SEO strategies for a variety of clients and see the results we are looking for. It saves us time when coming up with topics for each client's weekly blog by using keyword research and related keywords to generate a new topic that hits for SEO

 ### 9. Intuitive UI, Best-in-Class Keyword Research, and Responsive Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Axelle N. | SEO Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

As for Semrush’s UI and UX, I find it very intuitive; it’s easy to navigate, and it’s straightforward to understand how to use the tools provided.
When it comes to keyword research performance, Semrush is the best in my opinion because it allows us to find keywords without necessarily needing other tools. It can be sufficient on its own and is very comprehensive.
As for pricing, I can’t really give my opinion since my account is paid for by my company, but I know my company would have liked to be able to pay for a single account and have multiple users access it with that one account.
Regarding support, I also find that you’re quite responsive, so that’s great.
As for the AI, I think it’s a shame to have to pay so much more, and I find the price ridiculous. It’s a shame we don’t already have access to the AI tool with our account, because for me, AI is becoming a staple, just like the keyword research tool, the keyword gap, etc. It should be accessible. From the little I can see without paying more, I can already tell the tool seems very promising.
I haven’t used the integrations; I hadn’t realized that was an option on SEMrush.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The fact that we have to pay extra to get full access to the tools—tools that, for me, are a necessity as AI tools—is frustrating.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keyword research is the most useful feature for me in SEmrush. All of the tools really help me find the best keywords for my clients.

 ### 10. Powerful for SEO Strategy, Needs Better Traffic Accuracy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lauren S. | SEO and Web Development Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I like the ability to dive deep into keywords, especially using the keyword magic tool. We use the reporting feature to generate SEO reports for our clients. I love the ability to see the intent, keyword difficulty, and search volume. It's an excellent tool to manage and create traffic-generating content for clients' sites. It gives us insights that allow us to pivot in directions that align with the existing keywords on our site, making it valuable because we are not guessing what content to push next. We have a good idea based on related keywords and how to grow.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The organic traffic doesn't usually match anywhere near what Google Analytics shows. Also, there are a lot of differences between what Semrush reports and things like Ahrefs and Moz, and I don't like that.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Semrush for keyword research, tracking SEO issues, organic research, and content creation. It grows our clients' online presence and search visibility. The tool's insights guide content strategy without guessing, and features like search volume analysis assist in creating traffic-generating content.

 ### 11. SEMrush: The Backbone of My SEO and Content Strategy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ian S. | Marketing Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

SEMrush is the backbone of my SEO and content strategy

SEMrush plays a central role in how I plan, execute, and optimize our SEO and content strategy. What sets it apart is that it goes beyond surfacing data—it delivers clear, actionable insights that directly inform what to do next.

Features & Core Value

The Site Audit tool is something I rely on weekly. It surfaces technical issues like crawl errors, broken links, missing metadata, and structured data gaps in a way that’s easy to prioritize. Instead of manually auditing pages or stitching together multiple tools, I can quickly identify high-impact fixes and share clear, actionable recommendations with our web team. The automated scoring and trend tracking alone save me hours each week.
The Keyword Strategy Tool has transformed how I approach content planning. Building structured keyword clusters—rather than one-off keyword lists—has allowed us to align content more closely with search intent and create more comprehensive topic coverage. This has improved how we map keywords to pages and reduced internal competition.
The Keyword Gap report is one of the most impactful tools for competitive strategy. It clearly shows where competitors are outperforming us and highlights high-value opportunities we’re missing. This has directly shaped our content roadmap and helped prioritize efforts that produce measurable gains.

Unexpected Benefits

One unexpected benefit has been how SEMrush supports ADA compliance efforts. Through the Site Audit tool, I’m able to flag issues like missing alt text, weak link structures, and other usability concerns that overlap with accessibility best practices. While it’s not a dedicated accessibility platform, it has helped us make meaningful progress toward a more compliant and accessible website.

UI / UX

The interface is intuitive and well-structured, especially given how robust the platform is. The dashboards make it easy to move from high-level insights to granular details without losing context. Reports are clean, visual, and easy to export, which simplifies sharing insights with non-technical stakeholders.

Integrations

SEMrush integrates well with tools I use regularly, including Google Analytics and Google Search Console. This allows me to validate SEMrush insights against first-party data and creates a more complete picture of performance without constantly switching platforms.
Performance
The platform is fast and reliable, even when running large site audits or pulling competitive keyword data. Reports generate quickly, and I can move between tools without lag, which is critical when I’m working through multiple analyses in a single session.

Pricing / ROI

While SEMrush is an investment, it consistently delivers strong ROI. It has replaced several point solutions we previously used and has helped drive more efficient content planning, better prioritization, and stronger organic performance. The time savings alone—especially with audits and reporting—make it well worth the cost.
Support / Onboarding
Onboarding was straightforward, and the platform offers a strong library of guides and tutorials. The tool is deep, but the learning curve is manageable thanks to built-in recommendations and clear documentation. When needed, support has been responsive and helpful.

AI / Intelligence

SEMrush does a great job of turning complex data into actionable insights. The platform’s recommendations—whether in site audits, keyword clustering, or competitive analysis—feel intelligent and practical, not just automated. It helps bridge the gap between data and decision-making, which is where many SEO tools fall short.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I wish there were more tutorial videos especially when new features are rolled out such as the relatively new AI audit tool and reports

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SEMrush solves several core challenges in my SEO and content workflow primarily around prioritization, visibility into performance gaps, and efficiency, and the impact has been significant.

It eliminates the need to piece together insights from multiple tools. With features like the Site Audit, I can quickly identify and prioritize technical SEO issues (crawl errors, broken links, metadata gaps) that would otherwise take hours to uncover manually. This has streamlined how I work with our web team and ensures we’re always focused on the fixes that will have the biggest impact.

On the content side, SEMrush solves the problem of disconnected or inefficient keyword planning. The Keyword Strategy Tool allows me to build structured keyword clusters aligned to search intent, which has improved how we plan and organize content. As a result, we’ve moved from reactive, one-off content creation to a more cohesive, strategy-driven approach that performs better organically.

The Keyword Gap report addresses one of the biggest challenges in SEO - understanding where we stand competitively. It gives me a clear view of where competitors are outperforming us and highlights high-value opportunities, which directly informs our content roadmap and helps prioritize initiatives that drive measurable growth.

Additionally, SEMrush has helped solve for accessibility blind spots. Through the Site Audit tool, I’ve been able to identify issues like missing alt text and structural problems that support ADA compliance efforts - an unexpected but valuable benefit.

Overall, the biggest benefit is that SEMrush helps me work faster, make more informed decisions, and focus on high-impact opportunities, ultimately leading to stronger search performance and a more efficient content strategy.

 ### 12. A Strong Choice for International SEO Teams

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Johanna M. | Marketing Internship, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Semrush is my go-to tool for SEO planning and competitor research. I especially like its keyword database across different European languages, which helps me identify content opportunities and support localization efforts without having to switch between multiple tools.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

Semrush is an incredibly powerful platform, but its biggest strength can also be its biggest weakness: it sometimes tries to be everything at once. The platform has evolved far beyond SEO, which is great for some teams, but it can make workflows feel more complex than necessary. While the keyword and competitor research capabilities are excellent, certain features feel underutilized if your primary focus is organic growth. I also find that smaller markets, such as Dutch, can have less reliable keyword coverage compared to larger markets like English, German, or Spanish. Finally, as teams scale, the pricing model can become a consideration, especially when additional seats or advanced (AI) functionality are needed.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps me cut through the noise and focus on opportunities that can actually move the needle. As someone managing SEO and content across multiple European markets, I'm constantly balancing competing priorities. Semrush gives me the data I need to spot keyword opportunities, understand what competitors are doing, and decide where to invest our content efforts next. It has become a key part of how I scale SEO across different languages without relying on gut feeling alone.

 ### 13. Semrush: Intuitive All-in-One SEO Powerhouse with Seamless Integrations

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin C. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

What I really like about Semrush is how its clean, intuitive UI/UX packs an enormous amount of power into an easy-to-navigate dashboard with smart visualizations, powerful filters, and logical workflows that make even complex data feel approachable once you’re in. The integrations are seamless, plugging straight into Google Analytics, Search Console, social platforms, Zapier, and 20+ other tools, so everything from SEO and PPC to content and social lives in one unified workspace without constant switching. Performance shines through fast, real-time reports, rock-solid data from its massive 26+ billion keyword database, and generous limits that deliver accurate, actionable insights without slowdowns or frustration. On pricing/ROI, it’s a premium tool yet the depth and results it drives, including higher rankings, better visibility, and measurable revenue gains, make it one of the highest-ROI investments for agencies and serious marketers. Support and onboarding are genuinely excellent, with responsive live help, phone support, a comprehensive academy, webinars, and guided resources that flatten the learning curve quickly. And the AI/Intelligence layer is outstanding in 2026: the Semrush Copilot gives personalized recommendations, the AI Visibility Toolkit tracks your brand across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, and other LLMs, while ContentShake AI and smart content tools keep you ahead in the new AI-powered search world. All in all, it’s a true all-in-one powerhouse that feels future-proof and genuinely fun to use. Been very happy especially with daily keyword tracking and larger database for local keywords.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

A few things:

1) visually all the charts seem outdated even though they did a refresh. Everything needs to be updated and built out to be more flexible

2) tend to be slow with rolling out new features and updates, which oftentimes are in the form of an app, which makes you have to pay more. I don't think there's enough distinction between the tiered plans, especially if you get the highest paid plan. It's just that you get more projects and more keywords but not really more features, only share of voice.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Really just up-to-date search information. I mostly use it for keyword research and keyword tracking, competitive audits, as well as creating briefs.

 ### 14. Semrush Makes Keyword Research Easy, Smart, and Worth the Price

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kylie T. | Online Editor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I like how easy Semrush is to navigate with a variety of menu options and the way the site responds to what it already knows about your own website. I love how useful it is for finding and expanding keywords, giving me options I genuinely never thought of using and shows ingenuity and intelligence within the system. The pricing makes it worth it since you have so many options for what to do with your membership.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I do wish there was a little more capability with exploring keyword synonyms like adding more options to really nail down what you're looking for. I also find sometimes the performance can lag whenever I have multiple windows open trying to do many different things.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush solves our main issue of finding what keyword is best for our articles. Before we weren't sure even where to start with keywording but the search options make it easy to find what we're looking for and professionalize our site further. Plus they're always upgrading how you can compare your site to other which we appreciate.

 ### 15. Quick, Insightful SEO Audits—But Pricing and Billing Settings Need Work

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Naman R. | Co Founder & Chief Technology Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

What I like best about Semrush is how easy it is to add a website or start with any URL and immediately get useful insights. It helps me quickly understand opportunities and issues without a long setup process. The new UI is also better

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The main downside for me is the pricing. It feels expensive, especially because users who only need Semrush for a few specific tasks still get charged the same way. I also find the billing setup limiting because a billing person cannot easily be added just to download invoices. Some settings are confusing too, because account or billing options feel mixed in with work-related tabs.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps me track competitors, keywords, and overall online presence from one place. It is useful for checking visibility across platforms such as Google Maps, Google Business Profile, Instagram, and other channels, which helps me understand social presence and market dominance better. Newer features like AI-PR also look promising for improving how I monitor and act on these insights.

 ### 16. Semrush Is My Go-To for Keyword Research, SEO Audits, and Competitor Insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt K. | Marketing Content Strategist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Semrush has become one of my go-to tools for keyword research, SEO audits, competitor analysis, and position tracking. The keyword data is detailed, and the site audit recommendations are especially helpful when identifying ways to improve existing pages.

I mainly use Semrush to find target keywords and related phrases for blogs and landing pages. It also helps identify older pages that may need updates, which is useful for keeping important content competitive in search.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The biggest downside is the learning curve. There are a lot of tools in the interface, and it is not always clear at first which features are included in your current package. I would like to see simpler dashboards and more AI search or AIO tools included in the standard plan, or at least a stronger trial option for testing that package.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps me solve two main problems: finding the right SEO opportunities and understanding where existing content can perform better. I use it to identify target keywords, related phrases, and competitive gaps before creating or updating blogs and landing pages.

It also helps prioritize updates to older or important pages by showing site audit issues, ranking changes, and areas where we can improve visibility. The biggest benefit is that it gives me clearer direction instead of relying on guesswork when making SEO and content decisions.

 ### 17. An Essential Part of My SEO Toolkit.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carlo Alberto C. | President, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Semrush has become one of the few platforms I use almost daily. What I value most is having so many capabilities available in a single environment, from keyword research and competitive intelligence to technical SEO audits, backlink analysis, rank tracking, content research, and reporting. As a consultant working with B2B, B2C, SaaS, and eCommerce clients, I find that it helps me quickly identify opportunities, uncover technical issues, prioritize actions, and measure progress without switching between multiple tools. Over the years, it has become an integral part of both my strategic planning and day-to-day execution.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

Semrush remains one of the most comprehensive SEO and digital marketing platforms available, but over the years, the cost of ownership has increased significantly. As a long-time Business subscription customer, I have noticed that many of the newer capabilities are introduced as paid add-ons rather than being included in the core platform.

I would also like to see more flexibility in keyword-tracking limits, especially for agencies and consultants managing multiple clients across different industries. Custom reporting is another area where I believe more functionality should be included in the standard subscription.

As a Semrush Agency Partner, I would appreciate a more exclusive lead distribution model. Receiving leads that are simultaneously shared with many partners can make it difficult to differentiate and deliver value.

None of these issues diminishes the quality of the platform itself, but they do impact the overall value proposition, particularly for smaller agencies and independent consultants who have been loyal customers for many years.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps me identify SEO opportunities, uncover technical issues, prioritize improvements, and monitor progress across client websites. I have used it on approximately 100 websites across B2B, B2C, eCommerce, and SaaS environments.

The tools I rely on most are Site Audit, Position Tracking, Backlink Audit, and Custom Reports. Site Audit helps me quickly identify technical SEO issues that need attention. Position Tracking helps monitor visibility over time. Backlink Audit helps assess link quality and potential risks. Custom Reports help me communicate findings and progress clearly to clients.

Semrush has also helped me during sales conversations. Competitive analysis makes it easier to show prospective clients where they stand, where competitors are stronger, and where realistic opportunities exist.

The biggest benefit is prioritization. SEO can easily become overwhelming, especially when a website has many moving parts. Semrush helps turn data into a clearer roadmap, making it easier to decide what needs to be addressed first and what can create the most meaningful impact.

 ### 18. Our Go-To Tool for SEO Planning, Technical Optimization, and Content Growth

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Prashant S. | Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

What I like most about Semrush is how it brings SEO, keyword research, competitor analysis, content marketing, and reporting together in a single platform. I also appreciate its expanding capabilities for AI-driven search and visibility analysis, which help marketers understand how brands and content are being discovered through AI-powered search experiences. The data feels comprehensive, the interface is easy to navigate, and the insights are actionable. As a result, it’s simpler to spot opportunities, track performance, and make well-informed marketing decisions. Overall, it has become a valuable tool for planning, optimizing, and measuring digital marketing campaigns.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

Semrush offers a wide range of powerful features, although it may take some time to fully explore and make the most of everything it can do.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps us address several key digital marketing challenges by giving us a centralized view of SEO performance, technical SEO issues, keyword opportunities, and competitive insights. We rely on its SEO dashboard to monitor results, spot technical improvements, and track progress over time. It has also strengthened our content strategy by supporting keyword mapping, content planning, and the creation of a structured content idea tree. Based on these insights, we launched a glossary section on our website to target high-intent search queries and improve organic visibility. Overall, Semrush enables us to make data-driven decisions, prioritize SEO efforts more effectively, and create content that aligns better with user search intent.

 ### 19. The Best Tool for Competitor Insights and SEO Analysis

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emanuel G. | Web Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Semrush is the best source of aggregate data about competitors that I've personally tried, and that makes it a very competent tool in my tech stack. Analyzing new content against AEO/SEO goals and targeted keywords is amazing, it makes life a lot easier for the content teams when publishing monthly blogs.

We haven't personally explored any Semrush integrations but that's because it's not a feature we are interested in, internally. However, the platform does integrate with Google products and the big social networks. It's nice to know these options are on the table if we pivot.

From a performance standpoint, the product checks every box: it does what it says and does it really well.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

For starters, Semrush seems to lack actual enterprise management features. For example, if a coworker on my team creates a keyword list, Semrush treats that list like their property. That means if they leave the company and we remove them from the account, the list gets deleted or needs to be remade. I'm not sure what the point of this is when this is clearly an enterprise tool. People use it for work and their organization is the customer. The information inside the platform should therefore belong to the organization. I would call this a "must," and I didn't realize Semrush lacked this feature until I was in the platform.

Semrush's UI also leaves a lot to be desired. It's pretty difficult to navigate and can be difficult to know which features are hiding where. There are some features I did not know existed until I found them randomly in documentation, because they were hidden in the unclear menu.

Their support team's answer to these issues was basically agreeing that it's not great, but nothing they can do. This makes it really hard to justify ROI, because for the price there really needs to be some better and more personal support. Comparable platforms have a dedicated account manager or similar.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush allows us to perform competitive analysis, track keyword goals and metrics, and analyze new content against those keyword metrics. It benefits us by saving time and providing search information that would be exhausting or impossible to compile.

In the world of Artificial Intelligence (AI), everyone seems to be shoe-horning these features into products... while I personally think they are a waste of time, Semrush does have AI-driven suggestions and that can be a time saver for some of our team members.

 ### 20. Semrush Unifies SEO, Content, & Competitive Insights in One Smooth Workflow

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Poulomi M. | Marketing Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

What I like most about Semrush is that it brings multiple areas of digital marketing into a single ecosystem without the workflow ever feeling disjointed. Instead of constantly switching between separate platforms for SEO, keyword research, competitive analysis, content optimization, reporting, and paid media insights, everything is interconnected in a way that makes it easier to turn strategy into action efficiently.

Another major advantage is the platform’s strong integration capabilities. Semrush connects seamlessly with tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Ads, and various social and reporting platforms, which helps centralize campaign performance data and simplifies decision-making across teams.

From a performance standpoint, the platform handles large-scale keyword tracking, competitor monitoring, site audits, and reporting with impressive speed and reliability. The dashboards are intuitive, data is organized clearly, and the ability to generate actionable insights quickly makes it especially valuable for fast-moving marketing environments.

I also appreciate how Semrush continues to evolve its AI-driven capabilities. Its AI intelligence features help uncover keyword opportunities, content gaps, optimization recommendations, and competitive insights much faster than manual analysis alone. The platform doesn’t just present raw data — it helps prioritize what matters most, making strategic planning and execution significantly more efficient.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

One thing I dislike about Semrush is that some of the platform’s most valuable capabilities are heavily gated behind higher-tier plans or additional paid add-ons. While the core toolkit is powerful, features such as advanced competitive intelligence, extended historical data, AI-driven site audits, deeper content marketing tools, and expanded reporting limits often require separate upgrades, which can make the overall cost scale very quickly as marketing needs grow.

A common frustration is discovering a feature during campaign planning or reporting workflows that appears highly useful, only to realize it is unavailable within the current subscription tier. This can disrupt workflow continuity, especially for smaller marketing teams, agencies managing multiple clients, or growing businesses trying to consolidate operations into a single platform.

The impact is not just financial, it can also affect efficiency and scalability. Teams may end up limiting how frequently they run audits, reducing reporting depth, or relying on external tools to fill functionality gaps, which partially defeats the benefit of having an integrated marketing ecosystem in the first place. In some cases, it also creates uncertainty during budgeting because costs can rise unexpectedly as requirements evolve.

There are a few ways Semrush could improve this experience. Offering more flexible modular pricing, clearer feature transparency across plans, or usage-based access for premium tools could make the platform more accessible without forcing full-tier upgrades. Bundling certain high-demand capabilities, particularly AI-powered insights, historical data access, and advanced reporting, into mid-tier plans would also provide growing businesses with a more scalable experience while strengthening long-term customer retention.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Semrush, managing SEO and digital marketing efforts felt fragmented because key activities like keyword research, site audits, competitor analysis, content optimization, and performance tracking were spread across multiple platforms and spreadsheets. This made workflows slower, reporting less centralized, and strategic decision-making more reactive than proactive.

We struggled with manually collecting data from different tools, identifying content gaps efficiently, and tracking competitor movements consistently. Reporting also took significantly longer because insights had to be compiled manually across several sources.

After implementing Semrush, we were able to centralize SEO, content strategy, keyword tracking, technical audits, and competitive research into a single ecosystem. That shift streamlined workflows considerably and made it easier to move from research to execution without losing momentum.

One of the biggest improvements was efficiency. Tasks that previously required multiple platforms and several hours of manual analysis could now be completed in a fraction of the time through integrated dashboards, automated reporting, and AI-powered recommendations. This reduced research and reporting time substantially while improving visibility into ranking opportunities, technical SEO issues, and competitor strategies.

We struggled with disconnected marketing insights, but now we can monitor keyword performance, analyze competitors, optimize content, and track site health in one place, which has resulted in faster campaign execution, stronger content planning, and more informed SEO decisions.

The platform has also improved overall content and organic search performance by helping identify high-intent keywords, uncover ranking opportunities faster, and prioritize optimization efforts more strategically. From a business perspective, this has contributed to improved workflow efficiency, better collaboration across marketing functions, and stronger ROI from SEO-driven initiatives.

 ### 21. Raw Performance Data, API Access, and Powerful Search Insights with SEMRush

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael W. | Internet Technology Architect/Strategist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I like that I have access to the raw performance data in the dashboard (as well as via the API). The MCP server for AI integration is a plus. Setting up keyword tagging allows me to monitor the effectiveness of my campaigns over time and overall, I can answer any of my search related questions using the tools that SEMRush has to offer.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The app/plugin ecosystem is cumbersome. At times, apps are pushed as accelerators and are made to sound like they are a part of the core SEMRush platform. They are not. I've yet to find an app that drives true value. Often, they lock you into subscription models from the start and then require customer service to carry on. My suggestion would be to kill the app ecosystem, or spend more effort to ensure the value the apps bring.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can monitor the terms that matter to me. Whether those terms surface our content in Organic Search or AI Search, it doesn't matter. Visibility to all forms of search are available within the platform. Reports and dashboards allow me to effectively communicate our positioning to executives and the insights enable us to create the right content at the right time.

 ### 22. Invaluable 10+ Year Organic SEO History for Restoring Lost Rankings

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tom A. | Internet Marketing Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

As I am predominantly an SEO consultant, being able to view a websites organic SEO historical performance in the SEO competitive analysis part, over a 10+ year time frame has been very helpful. Particularly when a new website re development has ruined the old websites good SEO performance and working without any historical google search console data, very helpful in helping restore lost SEO rankings.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

For the price I pay each month, it is good value & provides some valuable data I cannot get elsewhere, so nothing to dislike in that respect. I use alongside other tools like moz.com & google search console, google business & analytics & bing webmaster tools, semrush would not suffice as the only tool I use to assist with my SEO consultancy work.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provides great current & historical SEO keywords rankings data as well as highlighting the SERP features each website appears for & highlights new opportunities using competitor analysis. Also clearly helps me assess the value of new potential SEO link sources in terms of likeability of the website in the eyes of the google search robots.

 ### 23. Semrush’s All-in-One SEO Toolkit That Streamlines Research, Audits, and Reporting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nafil S. | head marekting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

What I like best about Semrush is its all-in-one SEO and digital marketing toolkit. It provides valuable insights for keyword research, competitor analysis, backlink monitoring, site audits, and content optimization in a single platform, which saves a significant amount of time. The keyword research tools help identify high-potential opportunities, while the competitive analysis features make it easy to understand what strategies are working in the industry.

The most helpful aspect of Semrush is its ability to provide actionable data that improves search visibility and content performance. The site audit feature quickly identifies technical SEO issues, and the position tracking tools make it easy to monitor keyword rankings over time. I also appreciate the detailed reporting capabilities, which help measure results and communicate progress to clients or stakeholders. Overall, Semrush streamlines SEO workflows, improves decision-making, and helps drive better organic traffic growth.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

One downside of Semrush is that the platform can feel overwhelming for new users because of the large number of tools and features available. There is a learning curve before you can fully take advantage of its capabilities. Additionally, some of the advanced features and higher usage limits are only available in more expensive plans, which may be challenging for small businesses or individual marketers with limited budgets.

Another drawback is that keyword volume, traffic estimates, and competitive data are not always perfectly accurate, so it's important to use the insights as directional guidance rather than exact figures. While the reporting and analytics are powerful, generating highly customized reports can sometimes require additional setup and configuration.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps solve several key digital marketing challenges by providing a centralized platform for SEO, keyword research, competitor analysis, backlink monitoring, and website performance tracking. Before using Semrush, gathering this information often required multiple tools and manual research, which was time-consuming and inefficient.

The biggest benefit for me is having access to actionable insights that help improve search rankings and drive more organic traffic. The platform makes it easier to identify high-value keywords, uncover content opportunities, track ranking performance, and monitor competitors' strategies. Its site audit feature also helps detect technical SEO issues before they impact website performance. By streamlining these processes, Semrush saves time, improves decision-making, and helps achieve better marketing results with less manual effort.

 ### 24. In-Depth, Comprehensive Tools With a Plethora of Helpful Data

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katie D. | Account Executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I’ve recently been using the AI analysis features, and they’ve been extremely helpful for identifying weaknesses in websites and in the information they provide. The domain analysis and site audit tools have also been very useful for keeping an eye on how websites are performing from a traffic, visibility, and technical perspective. I also enjoy the user experience of SEMRush - all of the information is extremely easy to understand and the tools provide little explanations of what metrics mean and where they're pulling from.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The main challenge I run into is the restrictions on my current plan, especially around access to historical data and exporting PDF reports. These limitations seem tied to the plan tier I’m on and what fits within my budget. It would be really helpful if lower-tier plans offered more capability for pulling historical data, so I could get what I need without having to move up a level.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Many of the websites we work on haven’t been optimized for SEO or search in the past, so being able to pinpoint where a site needs help—or where it’s lacking—has been incredibly useful. With AI being so new, the AI analysis features have also helped us understand how our content should shift so it’s better optimized to be featured in LLMs.

 ### 25. SEMrush: Intuitive UI, Fast Reports, and SEO Insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mayur V. | Director of SEO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

UI / UX
SEMrush is easy to navigate even though it’s packed with features. The dashboard feels well organized, and it’s simple to find the SEO insights that matter.

Integrations
It connects smoothly with tools like Google Analytics and Search Console, which makes it easier to keep everything in one place and manage data without jumping between platforms.

Performance
The data feels reliable, reports load fast, and the keyword and competitor research tools consistently deliver actionable insights.

Pricing / ROI
It’s definitely a premium tool, but the depth of the data and the time it saves make it a worthwhile investment for serious SEO and marketing teams.

Support / Onboarding
Getting started is straightforward thanks to clear guides and tutorials, and support is responsive whenever I need help.

AI / Intelligence
The AI features speed up content planning and research, helping everyday SEO tasks feel more efficient without becoming overly complicated.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The pricing can feel expensive, especially when I need to add more users or enable additional features. Some reports and tools are overwhelming at first simply because there’s so much data available, and it takes time to know what to focus on. The usage limits on certain plans can also be restrictive for teams managing multiple projects. While the AI features are helpful, they still require manual review and aren’t always as accurate as I expect. On top of that, historical data and other advanced features are often locked behind higher-tier plans.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SEMrush helps us address several key SEO challenges by bringing reliable keyword research, technical site audits, and competitor analysis together in one platform. It enables us to spot high-value keyword opportunities, quickly uncover and resolve technical SEO issues, and better understand the strategies our competitors are using. As a result, we can make more informed decisions, improve our search visibility, and save significant time compared with relying on multiple separate tools.

 ### 26. Semrush Streamlined Our SEO Workflow with Powerful All-in-One Insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hani G. | ecommerce manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

What I like best about Semrush is how comprehensive the platform is. Instead of using multiple tools for keyword research, competitor analysis, backlink monitoring, site audits, and content planning, everything is available in one place. The keyword database is extensive, the competitor insights are incredibly valuable, and the Site Audit tool helps quickly identify technical SEO issues that could impact performance. The interface is intuitive, and the reports are easy to understand and share with stakeholders. It has significantly streamlined our SEO workflow and helped us make more data-driven decisions.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The main drawback is the pricing, which can be a bit expensive for smaller businesses or freelancers. Some advanced features are limited by usage quotas depending on the subscription plan, and there can be a learning curve when first exploring the platform because of the large number of available tools. However, once you become familiar with the platform, the value it provides generally outweighs these limitations.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps us solve several challenges related to SEO, content marketing, and competitive analysis. It allows us to identify high-value keyword opportunities, monitor rankings, analyze competitors' strategies, uncover backlink opportunities, and detect technical issues on our website before they become larger problems. As a result, we've been able to improve organic visibility, make more informed marketing decisions, increase website traffic, and save considerable time by managing multiple SEO activities within a single platform.

 ### 27. Semrush: Powerful Competitor Insights for Smarter, Data-Driven Growth

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Div G. | Lead Sales Development, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Semrush has been particularly valuable for competitor analysis and market research. It provides clear insights into what competitors are ranking for, where their traffic comes from, and which content performs best. The platform helps validate business ideas and identify opportunities before investing significant time or resources. I also find its keyword research and content planning tools useful for creating data-driven marketing strategies. Overall, Semrush is a comprehensive solution for businesses looking to improve their online visibility, understand their market better, and make informed growth decisions.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The platform has a steep learning curve, with so many tools and reports that it can feel overwhelming for new users. Additionally, some traffic and keyword estimates should be treated as directional insights rather than exact data, as they may not always perfectly reflect real-world performance.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps solve the challenge of understanding market demand and competitor activity. It enables us to identify what potential customers are searching for, discover content and keyword opportunities, and benchmark our performance against competitors. This allows us to make more informed decisions about marketing, content strategy, and customer acquisition, reducing guesswork and helping us focus resources on initiatives that are more likely to drive growth and visibility.

 ### 28. SEMrush’s Intuitive, Tool-Rich Platform—Now with Helpful AI for Content Strategy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard L. | Head of Marketing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

SEMrush offers a strong range of tools, and after using it for several years I also appreciate the familiarity of the platform. I like the recent push into AI tools, especially as the search/query landscape continues to shift so quickly. I regularly use the AI section to build updated content strategy recommendations that I then pass on to my content teams.

On the more traditional search side, I value being able to compare against a range of competitor domains, and I’ve actively monitored a broad set of keywords over multiple years. I also use the recommendations and difficulty scoring to help improve the website’s search performance.

The UI/UX feels intuitive and easy to pick up. Compared to other tools, features are straightforward to find and aren’t buried under layers of obscure folders.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

It’s becoming very price-led and modular in its approach, with lots of granular payment gates. I’d prefer broader, more value-led access tiers instead of these almost “microtransaction”-style gates.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Search remains important, some of our best performing leads and sales come from "classic" SEO based search - so having a tool like SEMrush is vital to understand and refine this customer journey. That said, the growing influence of LLMs and query based actions means I'm more reliant on SEMrush to make informed judgements.

 ### 29. Semrush’s SEO tools Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David H. | Paid Search Strategist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Semrush’s SEO tools have been an absolute game-changer for me. The keyword research and competitive analysis features save me hours every week, and the insights are genuinely actionable—they help me make changes that directly improve my rankings. I especially love the site audit tool: it’s detailed and fast, and it helps me stay on top of technical issues before they start affecting performance.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

If I could add anything, I’d love to see more AI-driven content suggestions built directly into the content optimization tools. I’d also really appreciate a more customizable dashboard—especially for agencies managing multiple clients—since that would be a meaningful upgrade.

Overall, Semrush remains my go-to SEO toolkit: powerful, reliable, and packed with value.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps me tackle key SEO challenges, like finding high-impact keywords, analyzing competitors, and addressing technical site issues. It makes complex tasks easier, saves me time, and provides clear, actionable data so I can make smarter marketing decisions. Overall, it significantly simplifies data-driven decision-making.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

Absolutely Nothing! While Semrush is a powerful platform, there are a few drawbacks. The interface can feel overwhelming, especially for new users, due to the sheer number of features and data points available. It often takes time to fully understand how to navigate and utilize all the tools effectively.
Another concern is the pricing, which can be quite high for small businesses or individual users, making it less accessible compared to some alternatives. Additionally, certain data points—such as keyword volumes and traffic estimates—may not always be fully accurate and should be used as directional insights rather than absolute figures.

Instead of relying on separate tools, it centralizes data and insights, saving time and improving efficiency.

it makes a lot of complicated SEO data feel pretty approachable. Instead of overwhelming you with spreadsheets and endless metrics, it organizes information into dashboards that are easy to scan and understand.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

SEMrush is powerful, but sometimes it gives "everything everywhere all at once". The data is great, but the interface could be a little more streamlined and beginner friendly. A cleaner dashboard with more customization and fewer distractions would make it easier to focus on what actually matters.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest benefit is keyword tracking and visibility. Instead of guessing which keywords are working, SEMrush shows where rankings are improving, dropping, or staying the same. It also helps identify new keyword opportunities, monitor competitors, and track SEO performance over time. Another is having multiple SEO tools in one place. I can research keywords, audit a website, track rankings, analyze backlinks, and monitor competitors without jumping between different platforms

 ### 33. Easy, Affordable Tool That Boosted Our Local Visibility and Website Insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan B. | Lead Pastor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

We've used it both to keep out local listings updated and to track our Domain Authority Score compared to other organizations like ours. Both have helped us increase our visibility online in our community.

It's been easy to use and affordable for our budget. It's given us an accurate understanding of improvements we can make to our website and has performed well when we needed detailed information. We haven't used their support features because we've never had any issues with the product.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

We haven't had any issues so I'm not aware of any specific downsides.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We’ve mainly used it to keep all of our local listings up to date, which has been invaluable for us because most people search for churches through map services or by typing something like “church near me.” We simply wouldn’t be able to keep all of those local listings updated on our own.

What I like most about Semrush is the ability to analyze competitors, discover valuable keywords, and monitor SEO performance in one place. It helps me identify new content opportunities, improve organic rankings, and track the visibility of multiple job portal websites efficiently. **What do you dislike about Semrush?**

While Semrush is a powerful platform, the subscription cost can be challenging for smaller companies. Additionally, some tools require time to learn and interpret correctly, especially for users who are new to SEO and digital marketing. However, the breadth of features generally outweighs these limitations.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps us understand what people are searching for, how our competitors are performing, and where we can improve our SEO. This allows us to attract more organic traffic, optimize our content strategy, and make informed marketing decisions based on real data rather than guesswork.

 ### 35. All-in-One SEO Powerhouse, Though the Pricing Adds Up

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Derrick W. | Frontend Web Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

What I like best about Semrush is having almost everything I need for SEO in one place. I can research keywords, track rankings, run site audits, analyze competitors, monitor backlinks, and create client reports without jumping between multiple tools. The competitor research is especially useful because it helps me quickly identify opportunities and see what’s working in my clients’ markets. It’s not perfect, but it saves me a ton of time and gives me data I can actually use to make decisions.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The biggest thing I dislike is the cost. The platform is excellent, but it can get expensive pretty quickly, especially when managing multiple clients or needing access to additional features.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps Atomic Idea identify SEO opportunities, monitor website performance, and improve search visibility for our clients. We use it to conduct keyword research, track rankings, perform technical SEO audits, analyze competitors, and monitor backlinks.

 ### 36. Position Tracking and Competitor Insights That Keep Us on Top

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Allegheny Surface Technology - Marketing M. | Marketing Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I use Position Tracking all the time to monitor our keywords rankings. I also find it useful when do my monthly reports. I also use Semrush to keep an eye on our competitors (keywords, organic traffic). It allows me to see how we stand against them and if we're improving or not.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I find it difficult to understand the different package options. When I want to export a report, it says that I need to upgrade. Even though I already upgraded, it seems that anything that I want to do needs another upgrade and it's frustrating.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before I had to manually go into google or bing, type in a keyword and count where that keyword ranked on the page. It was very tedious but I needed it for my monthly reports. Now, I can track hundreds of keywords in Semrush and it automatically gives me their rankings.

 ### 37. Very Helpful Tool for Everyday SEO Work

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ADnan C. | SEO, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I use SEMrush daily for my personal and clients projects, for keyword research and checking what other competitors are ranking for. One thing I like is that it saves a lot of time because most of the SEO tools I need are already in one place.

I integrated this with search console. I also use it when planning blog topics or checking which keywords are worth targeting. The keyword gap tool has been really useful for finding ideas I would have probably missed otherwise. Overall, it just makes SEO work more organized and easier to manage for me.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

There’s a lot into Semrush, which is useful, but it can feel confusing at first until you spend time learning where everything is. Some tools also take a bit of time to fully understand if you’re new to SEO.

Second thing is pricing. It’s a strong platform, but for freelancers or smaller businesses the plans can feel expensive.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush helps me with keyword research, competitor tracking, and finding content opportunities faster. Before using it, I had to check different tools and sources manually, which took more time.

Now I can research keywords, monitor rankings, and get content ideas in one place, which makes planning and SEO work much easier for me.

 ### 38. Essential SEO Tools, Poor AI Optimization

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan B. | Director, Growth Marketing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I like that the keyword research in Semrush gives me the essentials I need. It's easy to group themes together and understand intent, which helps us determine what content to develop to get in front of our buyers.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

We trialed the AEO features and they were poor quality, it barely gave us anything relevant to our business. I also dislike the self-serve subscription setup, billing is hard to understand and you can easily remove things from your plan. They make, what should be easy admin tasks, really difficult. For instance, to share the API credits on our account, they force me to contact them monthly to give credits to my team for the MCP.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Semrush for content and technical SEO insights. It helps use understand what needs to be fixed on our website and the keyword research provides essential insights on search behaviour.

 ### 39. SEMrush Makes SEO Easy with Powerful Insights, Audits, and Great Value

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh C. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

SEO can be really confusing. Through SEMRush's UX/UI it makes it easy to understand all of the aspects of SEO.

I love the insights on how to improve our SEO that SEMRush provides as well. We also have it integrated with our wordpress sites and that makes it super easy.

We often need to run site audits on potential clients, and the performance of SEMrush being able to handle that quickly is amazing.

Overall, the pricing is awesome. The support is there when I need it, and I love that they're integrating AI.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The only downside that I can think of about SEMrush is it's just packed with so many awesome tools that often I forget what all is there.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are a lot of factors and data to consider, and SEMrush does a good job about distilling that for me.

 ### 40. Outstanding Keyword Research and Competitor Gap Analysis with SEMrush

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John G. | SEO Strategist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

SEMrush Is perhaps the greatest tool for both keyword research and competitor keyword gap analysis. It allows us to succinctly track the keywords our brand ranks for, the terms for which we do not rank, and the quickest path to do so. It also helps us keep tabs on competitor ranking.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

Their AI toolkit, like most SEO tools, is still in its relative infancy. That's not a knock against SEMrush, just a frustration when we're looking for the same depth of GEO capabilities that SEMrush already offers on the SEO side. Simply doesn't exist yet.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SEMrush directly helps us solve keyword research and position tracking functions. We can also see if the pages for which our terms rank change. That helps us understand how our web pages are indexed, which content Google favors for certain keywords, and how to optimize appropriately.

 ### 41. Instant Keyword & Competitor Insights That Make Client Pitching Easy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Simon D. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I like that I can pick it up at any time and get instant information about a specific keyword or website. It helps to create a quick and easy story when we're pitching for a client, or looking at competitors to clients we're currently working on.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I feel like it sometimes tries too hard to be too many things at once and the interface can be overwhelming with features. I feel that SEMRush try to push these things too hard too, and often the pricing for the products isn't always necessarily in line with its features. I feel like SEMRush should really focus on its core product and not get too distracted with new AI tools (which are way cheaper elsewhere)

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Instant information about competitors to current brands, or instant info when we're research information about a brand we're pitching for.

 ### 42. Hard to do SEO without it now

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ateendra S. | Digital Marketing Manager, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

I mostly use it for keyword research and keeping an eye on what competitors are ranking for. Semrush saves me a ton of time figuring out what's actually worth chasing and I've found it to be a bit better than Ahrefs in terms of pure keyword info. Site audit's caught a few things I would've missed too.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I feel that the backlink data and recommendations based on backlink data can be improved. Ahrefs does edge out over Semrush in that regard. I also feel they've improved their UI a ton over the years but it still feels a bit overwhelming sometimes. But that's

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tbh it helps me get started with the low-hanging fruits, technical audits, and keyword research and saves me a ton of time figuring out the best plan of action whenever we're starting a project or campaign.

 ### 43. SEMRush Makes SEO/AEO Discoverability Easy for a Small Team

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer W. | Social Media Strategy Manager/Online Community Engagement Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

SEMRush greatly helps my limited team to enhance our SEO/AEO discoverability. The tools are simple to use and they are always offering new tools to help enhance the work. The offerings are modern (meaning they are advising me on current needs).

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

We can only pay by invoice, not credit card (as per my company's rules), which makes it difficult to add new tools that are offered. They would not change an invoice for under $500.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use the site audit weekly to identify broken links and other site issues. We use the top pages and keywords to identify what's working. We use the organic rankings page to see what our competitors are writing about. There are so many tools we use (including the newer AI toolkit features) but we are not resourced enough to make the necessary changes to implement.

 ### 44. Great insights and AI lens, but the menu and add-on subscriptions can overwhelm

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David V. | Marketing Intern, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Semrush has been helpful in helping me with getting insights into the company data, and the AI lens has helped me understand what's working and what's not working for the company.

The UI/UX is good; however, I think that the menu list could be condensed, especially for those with entry-level marketing skills. Since a lot of the sections overlap, maybe reconsider what goes where.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

There are a lot of ppp subscriptions needed to get work done so that I can use Semrush as an insight tool, but not to move forward with my work.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our marketing team is required to show projected revenue from the campaigns, website, and other activities we're doing. Showing the reach, and especially the AI part of it, has helped in translating to the company C-suite on what we've been doing by providing quantifiable data.

 ### 45. Powerful agency SEO tool that earns its place, but report limits hold it back.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rachel T. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

The Listing Management tool does something I genuinely need as an agency owner, which is giving me one place to push and monitor business listings across multiple clients without jumping between platforms. When a client has inconsistent NAP data across directories, being able to correct it from one dashboard instead of hunting down every citation manually is a real time saver. The concept is solid and for local SEO clients it is a feature I come back to regularly.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

here updates I pushed did not sync correctly across directories and tracking down where the disconnect happened ended up taking more time than just fixing the listings manually would have. For a tool that is supposed to simplify citation management, that is a frustrating experience. The reporting side also needs work. Knowing a listing exists is one thing. Understanding whether it is actually driving visibility or impacting local rankings is what I need to justify the cost to clients. The data it surfaces right now does not go deep enough to be truly actionable.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing local SEO across multiple clients means keeping track of business listings on dozens of directories for each one. Without a centralized tool that would be an enormous manual lift. Listing Management solves that problem in theory by centralizing everything and letting me push updates across directories from one place. When it works correctly it saves real time, especially during onboarding when a new client has citations all over the place with inconsistent information. The benefit is efficiency. Instead of auditing and correcting every directory one by one, I can get a client's listing health in order faster and move on to higher-value strategy work. The potential is there, it just needs to be more reliable before I would fully depend on it across all my client accounts.

 ### 46. One of the Easiest SEO/SEM Tools—Smooth Onboarding and Evolving Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kartikey B. | Digital Marketing Manager - Growth and Demand Generation, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

It’s one of the easiest SEO/SEM tools to use on the market. I’ve been using it in my current role for almost five years and haven’t had any issues with the product. The pricing reflects the tool's quality and is fairly accessible. It’s also very easy to onboard with and requires little to no setup. They also add new features from time to time that evolves with how how search evolves

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

The new pricing is a bit confusing, and there are too many tier options. A simpler pricing structure would help.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s helping me improve the performance of our website in SEO and GEO, and it’s also helping us implement best practices to improve overall site performance and search ranking. SEM Rush has made a big impact by helping me navigate the impact of AI on search.

 ### 47. Effortless Competitor Analysis, Aids in Dominating Market

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomas F. | Engineering Manager - UK, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Why Semrush is My Competitive Edge
1. Competitive Intelligence & Strategy
The core value of Semrush for me is the unrivaled insight into competitor targeting.
• The "Why": It reveals exactly which keywords the competition is banking on.
• The Impact: It removes the guesswork from my strategy. Without these insights, "dominating the competition" would be nearly impossible. It provides a roadmap that I simply wouldn't have access to otherwise.
2. Precision Tracking
The data quality stands out significantly, especially when compared to tools I’ve used in the past.
• Position Tracking: It’s my go-to for monitoring where I stand in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) in real-time.
• Data Accuracy: The tracking data is noticeably superior, providing a more reliable picture of my SEO performance.
3. Seamless User Experience
Semrush manages to pack a massive amount of power into a very accessible interface.
• Easy Setup: The step-by-step onboarding is a game changer. It ensures the tool is configured correctly from day one so I can get the most out of my daily routine.
• Ease of Use: Despite its complexity, the platform feels intuitive and straightforward to navigate.
4. Workflow Integration
It’s the "little things" that make the biggest difference in productivity.
• Email Updates: Instead of having to log in and hunt for changes, the automated email reports bring the most important data directly to my inbox.
• Convenience: This automation makes maintaining a high-level SEO strategy feel effortless rather than like a chore.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

Areas for Improvement
1. Advanced Competitor Comparison
While Semrush is excellent at tracking individual competitors, there is a desire for more robust, side-by-side comparison features.
• The Goal: To have a more streamlined way to benchmark multiple rivals simultaneously against your own metrics without jumping between different modules.
2. Brand-Aware Keyword Filtering
One of the main pain points is the manual effort required to sift through irrelevant data.
• The Issue: The tool sometimes picks up "bad" or irrelevant keywords that don't align with your specific brand identity.
• The Solution: A more intelligent, "trainable" AI that learns your brand’s niche. By understanding what your brand is (and what it isn't), Semrush could automatically filter out low-value or off-brand keywords, saving you significant cleanup time.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problem: Operating in a "Strategic Vacuum"
Without data, you’re guessing what your audience wants and what your competitors are up to.
• The Benefit: Semrush provides Competitive Transparency. It identifies the exact keywords and "winning techniques" your rivals use. By seeing their roadmap, you can leapfrog the "trial and error" phase and move straight to strategies that are already proven to work.
2. Problem: The "Keyword Needle in a Haystack"
Finding high-value keywords manually is nearly impossible given the billions of search queries generated every day.
• The Benefit: Through Keyword Analysis, Semrush uncovers "low-hanging fruit"—keywords with high search volume but low competition. This allows you to focus your energy on content that actually moves the needle, rather than wasting time on terms that are too competitive or irrelevant.
3. Problem: Ranking Blindness
SEO is a moving target; you can be #1 today and #10 tomorrow without knowing why.
• The Benefit: Position Tracking provides a real-time leaderboard. You don't have to manually search Google every morning to see where you stand. It gives you an early warning system; if your rankings dip, you know immediately and can react before the loss impacts your revenue.
4. Problem: Information Overload & Time Scarcity
Managing a full SEO suite can feel like a second full-time job.
• The Benefit: Automated Convenience. The ease of use and step-by-step setup ensure you don't need a PhD in data science to get started. Furthermore, the email updates act like a personal assistant, filtering the most critical insights and delivering them to your inbox so you can stay informed while focusing on other parts of your business.

 ### 48. SEMRush Delivers Excellent Performance and Strong Competitor Analysis Tools

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andy H. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Some of the competitor analysis tools in SEMRush are very good. The UI/UX is good, though can seem a little overwhelming at times. It integrates with Google GA4 and Search Console for more clarityof data and they are doing more with AI tracking as time goes on. Performance of the platform in terms of speed and ability is excellent, and it seems to be the go-to platform for most agencies. Basic pricing is in line with or slightly higher than many other commercial SEO/Audit products, and the sign-up/on-boarding process is fairly simple to get started, but once in there are a lot more integrations and settings you can use.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

I have 2 main issues with SEMRush:
1. The platform, though extensive can feel overwhelming and not always that intuative, when compared to some other audit software tools I use, and I simply found myself using the other tools more.
2. The price is in the higher tiers of SEO/Audit tools, and I simply can't justify the monthlies of this and all other tools I use.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The competitor analysis is excellent, once you get your head around how to use it, and the AI analysis is making me think again about how best to approach SEO to best benefit my clients.

 ### 49. All-in-One SEO

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Victor P. | Digital marketing specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

What I like best about Semrush is how it brings SEO, competitor research, keyword analysis, site audits, and content planning into one clear platform. It makes it easy to move from data to action, especially when identifying growth opportunities, tracking rankings, and understanding what competitors are doing well.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

Semrush can feel a bit overwhelming at first because there are so many tools and dashboards. The pricing can also be quite high for smaller teams, and some keyword or traffic estimates are not always perfectly accurate, so the data still needs to be interpreted carefully rather than taken as absolute truth.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main benefit is that it saves time and makes marketing decisions more data-driven. Instead of guessing what to focus on, Semrush helps prioritize the actions that can improve visibility, attract better traffic, and support growth.

 ### 50. The Ultimate SEO Toolkit with Unmatched Features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Haley C. | Founder / Marketing Strategist , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Semrush?**

Semrush is the ultimate SEO tool, I was using Mangools before and it gave me very few features. Semrush, has so many features both SEO keyword related and with keyword review for GEO, AEO, and SEO. The tool is also very easy to use and they even offer customer support training sessions that I have been able to attend. Semrush has been a tool that immediately I implemented into my business to assist my customers, I use this tool daily. I was also able to integrate it into our systems immediately. The price is a bit expensive and I am curious with Adobe buying out them if it will rise. For Performance, it works pretty smoothly. The AI tool for blog writing is not accurate and has gone down in the past couple of months.

**What do you dislike about Semrush?**

As of right now, there are not dislikes I have encountered with SemRush, just their AI tools which I feel like they have gone downhill a bit.

**What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Semrush is solving the problem I had with accurate keyword research. After implementing this my customers are ranking organically for keywords Semrush helped me find using their tool that showed me the low hanging fruit keywords. This is benefiting me because my customers are getting so much organic traffic.
