Woocommerce subscriptions fairly easy to get started with, especially if you are familiar with woocommerce, which can be a bit wonky at times. As with woocommerce and most of the available plugins, the more plugins you have, the slower the page load speed and potential for plugins to not play nicely with each other. But, unless you know how to custom code, plugins are the only option. It's really not an issue with the subscription plugin per se, but the woocommerce platform itself. The plugin is somewhat limited in features for a business that requires alot of customizations, and it isn't intuitive on how it manages the subscriptions separately from the initial order. This is no fault of the plugin, but it's easy to have this set incorrectly, resulting in missed payments. End dates must take place a margin after the last payment would take place, I have not had positive results with this falling on the same day, as you can not control what charge is completed first.
