"Useful for CMOs of startups like myself"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?

As the CMO and founder of Audemic, what I appreciate most about ActiveCampaign is how seamlessly it integrates marketing automation with CRM capabilities. It allows us to create highly personalized customer journeys without needing a large marketing ops team. The segmentation and automation features are incredibly powerful. We can trigger email sequences, in-app messages, or nurture flows based on user behavior, which helps us deliver relevant content at the right time.

I also value how flexible the platform is, me & my team can run everything from lead nurturing and customer onboarding to retention campaigns within a single system. This saves us time and ensures our communication feels consistent across touchpoints Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

The platform can feel overly "complex" at times, especially when setting up advanced automations or integrating with external tools. The UI isn’t always as intuitive as it could be... (I think this is a share feeling among AC users as far as I know from other startup founders of my net) It takes a learning curve to unlock its full potential.

Additionally, reporting and analytics could be more robust. For a data-driven marketing team like ours, we often find ourselves exporting data or relying on external tools to get deeper insights into campaign performance and user behavior. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Automation & Segmentation, Worth the Learning Curve"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?

What I appreciate most about ActiveCampaign is its powerful automation builder combined with an intuitive interface. The visual automation workflow makes it incredibly easy to create sophisticated customer journeys without needing technical expertise. it is easy of implementation

The segmentation capabilities are outstanding - I can target my audience with precision based on behavior, engagement, and custom data, which has significantly improved our email performance and conversion rates.

I also love the seamless CRM integration that keeps our sales and marketing teams aligned. The ability to track the entire customer journey from first touch to closed deal in one platform has been a game-changer for our business. I use it Frequency! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

The learning curve at the beginning can be steep due to the wealth of features available. However, once you invest time in their excellent training resources and support documentation, it becomes much more manageable. This initial complexity is actually a reflection of how powerful the platform is. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"ActiveCampaign is THE tool"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?

ActiveCampaign is one of those tools that just gets it when it comes to email. It's incredibly user-friendly but still powerful enough for complex automations and segmentation. I love how easy it is to build out journeys based on actual customer behavior—it makes the emails feel more personal and less like a blast. The reporting is also super clear, which helps me quickly see what’s working and what needs adjusting. You can tag and segment in so many ways, which is a game-changer if you’re trying to send targeted, relevant content. I’ve found the automation builder to be one of the best out there—visual, intuitive, and flexible. It also integrates with a ton of other tools, which means you can build a pretty seamless marketing ecosystem. Whether you’re nurturing leads, onboarding new users, or just sending out newsletters, it handles it all. Plus, deliverability has been solid—I rarely have issues getting into inboxes. It’s also just fast to work in, which matters when your day is packed. Honestly, it’s one of the few platforms that actually makes email feel fun. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

Not much. It's a great tool that does exactly what it says it will. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Robust Automations and Easy Onboarding, But Reporting and Speed Need Improvement"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?

I absolutely love ActiveCampaign! It’s a powerful and comprehensive tool that is also straightforward to use and easy to learn.

One of my favorite features is the robust automations and app integrations. I rarely need to rely on zaps, even for fairly complex automations, because ActiveCampaign integrates seamlessly with all the major tools I use.

The interface is very user-friendly as well. We’re able to get new employees set up and working quickly with pipelines, deal cards, and contact pages. Our team is in here DAILY - from customer service, sales to client managers - this is how we track all data from lead to customer.

Additionally, customer service has always been extremely helpful and quick to respond whenever I’ve needed assistance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

There isn’t much I dislike about ActiveCampaign, but if I had to be particular, there are a few areas that could use improvement. First, setting up advanced reporting is quite challenging, and for our needs, the built-in reporting features fall a bit short. I would really appreciate the option to run reports based on when a tag was added or removed. While this is technically possible with advanced reporting, adding additional layers—something that’s straightforward with advanced search—becomes unnecessarily complicated.

Second, the Chrome extension is quite unreliable. I have never been able to get the search by deal function to work properly.

Lastly, the platform tends to run slowly. We do have a large number of contacts, so that might be contributing to the issue, but ActiveCampaign often becomes very sluggish. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best Email tool for professionals"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?

I’ve been using ActiveCampaign for a while now, and honestly, it’s become one of the most valuable tools in my business. What I really like is how powerful and flexible the automations are. Once you get the hang of it, you can build really advanced workflows that connect perfectly with your CRM, online store, and forms. It’s like having a full marketing system running in the background, taking care of all the repetitive tasks.

The email editor is clean and easy to use, and I love how the templates can be reused and customized. Their support team has also been great — whenever I had a question, they actually took the time to walk me through it instead of just sending a link to a help article. It’s also nice to see that the platform scales with you. As my list and campaigns have grown, ActiveCampaign has kept up without any issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

That said, it’s not all perfect. The interface can feel a bit overwhelming at first because there are so many options and settings. It definitely takes some time to understand how everything fits together. Sometimes it also feels like there are too many clicks involved just to do something simple. If you’re new to automation or email marketing, the learning curve can be steep.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the price goes up as your contact list grows, and some of the more advanced reports are only available on higher plans. Every now and then the platform feels a bit slow, especially when you’re working with large automations. But overall, these are small trade-offs for what you get.

For me, ActiveCampaign strikes the right balance between power and usability. Once you’ve set it up, it runs like a well-oiled machine — perfect for anyone who takes their email marketing seriously. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Integration and Setup, but Needs Better Date-Based Email Scheduling"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?

Love that ActiveCampaign makes it easy to email my contacts, no matter what part of the sales process they are in. It connects to my other tech easily, and it was easy to implement and setup. I use it on a regular basis, and have been able to outsource some of my ActiveCampaign tasks, and I love that it was easy to grant my team access as needed. I haven't needed to access Customer Support at this stage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

The only downside I can think of are that it's harder to get emails sent out on specific dates (I would LOVE to be able to get ActiveCampaign to send out a specific email template according to dates of a recurring event in my Google Calendar), but I got help from a friend to make a workaround for this one. "User-Friendly Interface and Excellent Support"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?

The interface is user-friendly, and I appreciate both the support provided and the easy access to information. Also the integration with other CRMs is quite simple. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

I don't have any issues with the current options and functionalities, but I would suggest adding an option to create a form that cannot be tracked. For example, I have a form used by the sales team to add clients to our newsletter, but this process ends up tracking their activity on the website. If there were a way to use a form with a 'do not track' option, it would be much better. At the moment, we have to use a private browser for each record, which is not ideal. "Powerful, Not Overwhelming — Exactly What We Needed"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?

As the CMO of a privately owned interior design brand, I value tools that allow a small in-house team like ours to perform like a large global brand. ActiveCampaign strikes that rare balance between sophistication and simplicity. It’s intuitive, beautifully organized, and gives our team real confidence in managing our CRM, email automation, and sales pipeline—all without needing a dedicated tech department.

The platform feels thoughtfully designed at every touchpoint. From building automated journeys to segmenting audiences, everything is visual, logical, and easy to learn. The education team and customer success support are also exceptional—proactive, responsive, and genuinely invested in helping you get the most out of the product. It’s been one of the smoothest and most rewarding platform adoptions I’ve experienced. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

Some of the deeper reporting tools take a bit of exploration to uncover, and a few integrations could be more seamless—but those are minor compared to the overall experience. The platform’s intuitiveness and reliability far outweigh any small learning curve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Expert level e-mail automation and newsletter tool"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?

The easy of use creating engaging newsletters and/or emails. The sales functionality to follow up on new leads and possibilities and to be able to 'lead score' every contact to segmenting the hot leads vs the newsletter subscribers.

Next to this we can create complex automation funnels to complete automate our sales process. The sales agents can see which contacts have opend an email / clicked on a link and sofort.

I also like the fact that there are a vast number of integration possibilities in this tool. And with the addition of for instance zapier you can basically connect all you other tools to this system. It's terrific.

Really smart business tool that i an amazing addition to our sales and marketing process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

Segmentation of contacts is somewhat counter intuitive. But when you understand how it works it becomes easier. This for us had a bit of a learning curve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
