  ### 1. Amazing developer experience, but the pricing stings

**What do you like best about Stripe Billing?**

The API and CLI are absolutely outstanding. Stripe Billing's developer experience is best-in-class — the documentation is clear, the API is well-designed and consistent, and the CLI makes testing and debugging a breeze. Setting up subscriptions, invoices, and recurring billing flows is straightforward, and the webhooks system is reliable. It integrates seamlessly into our workflow and has saved us a ton of engineering time.

**What do you dislike about Stripe Billing?**

The pricing is the main pain point. Stripe Billing is expensive, especially for a startup like ours. The per-transaction fees and the additional percentage on top for billing features add up quickly as you scale. For a company based in a market like Mexico, where margins can be tighter, the cost can be hard to justify compared to alternatives. I wish there were more flexible or volume-based pricing tiers for growing startups.

**What problems is Stripe Billing solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Stripe Billing handles all of our recurring subscription management and invoicing, which would otherwise require significant custom development. Before Stripe, managing billing cycles, proration, failed payment retries, and tax compliance across different regions was a nightmare. Now we can focus on building our product instead of building billing infrastructure. The API-first approach lets our engineering team automate everything programmatically, and the CLI speeds up our development and testing cycles considerably.

I like that with Stripe Billing, you can start using and implementing it for free. It integrates well with other e-commerce plugins. You can create a one-time billing or recurring.

I don't have anything that I dislike about Stripe.

**What problems is Stripe Billing solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The recurring problem. Stripe made it easy for me to create an easy way to bill customers securely and integrate it with my website and client's websites.

**What do you like best about Stripe Billing?**

I like that Stripe Billing handles all of our PLG customers and integrates with Maxio to create transactions, revrec, and syncs to Xero for accurate record keeping. I appreciate that we don't have to create invoices, transactions, or manage contracts with our PLG customers. I like that it's a 'set it and forget it' solution.

**What do you dislike about Stripe Billing?**

Generating payment links to update failed credit cards is difficult. It should integrate better with other systems out of box.

**What problems is Stripe Billing solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Stripe Billing to manage PLG customer transactions without needing to handle invoices or contracts, and it's great for its 'set it and forget it' feature.

Pricing and feature availability vary by region and payment method, which adds planning overhead for multi-country catalogs.

•	Standardized recurring billing across multiple models without stitching vendors, replacing manual invoicing and ad hoc proration with predictable, audited flows.

	•	Reduced involuntary churn with built-in dunning, retries, and card updates, decreasing manual collections and support tickets related to failed payments.

	•	Simplified lifecycle management for plan changes, backdating, and credits, enabling clean adjustments during upgrades, downgrades, or contract amendments.

	•	Accelerated launch of subscription offerings by combining hosted checkout and invoices with an API path to deeper customization as needs mature.

**What do you like best about Stripe Billing?**

Stripe gives us the ability to customize how we want to present our invoices to our customers, structure our products, and accept payments. We were even able to overcome a product display problem relating to how Stripe displays items on our invoices through a way that wasn't recommended by Stripe and Stripe continued to work the way we wanted it to anyway. The fact that we later had to change it to take advantage of a paywalled Revenue Recognition feature in no way downplays the value that Stripe provided us during this time by allowing us to use its system "incorrectly" and still function well!

**What do you dislike about Stripe Billing?**

Many of Stripe's additional features are paywalled -- features that I would consider to be an essential part of an online billing system -- which is a giant bummer, because Stripe provides such good and reliable services that you will have no choice but to add on the paywalled features eventually.

**What problems is Stripe Billing solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are primarily a B2C subscription business and Stripe powers the subscription management and billing completely.

Handling returns in SEK can be challenging because Stripe does not offer a SEK account. Additionally, making a deposit in DKK is complicated by the fact that the exchange rate is unknown at the time of the transaction.

This platform offers a straightforward way to create a community that can help support our cause through donations.

Stripe is the standard for digital billing and processing charges. It is used by so many companies not only for gig work but also standard transactions. The real time payment is a small business boost.

Initial set up can be a bit of a pain and the fee deductions are unavoidable. Overtime it adds up

It is a resource for small business and gig related payment that is both easily usable by the public and relatively friendly to the business. It makes digital transactions and payments much easier especially when dealing with people who use Chime
