"Clean, Intuitive Dashboards—But Epic Task Separation Is Missing"

What do you like best about ClickUp?

I like the interface. It’s clean and simple. I also appreciate how easy it is to find information quickly and intuitively.

My favorite feature is the dashboards.

I set up an import integration with Trello, and I found it VERY easy! It’s more complex on other platforms.

What do you dislike about ClickUp?

I don't like the fact that we can't break our projects down into Epics, Stories, and the like.

We work with very large deliverables that involve a lot of moving parts. So, working solely with tasks and subtasks doesn't work for us. I find it very difficult to track certain things because of this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is ClickUp solving and how is that benefiting you?

For now, we’re using the free version, and it works very well for us. However, I’m considering upgrading to the paid plan because many of the features essential to me are only available there.

ClickUp has solved a portfolio management issue for us. We have several business units that occasionally need to coordinate with one another. Managing this solely in Trello was very complex—plus, Trello is limited to just Kanban boards.

I can customize workflows for each team while still maintaining full visibility into what’s happening. This gives me complete peace of mind. We’ve managed to reduce errors caused by communication gaps by 80%.

ClickUp’s AI also helps me a lot when I need input on how to handle a specific workflow.

Regarding the platform's pricing: I think it's okay, but it could be better and more competitive. Even on the most basic plan, there could be discounts based on the number of employees. I currently have 22, but it’s a bit difficult to justify the cost to the company's finance department, which keeps a very tight rein on spending. After all, we are a startup.

As for support: I haven't needed to open any tickets yet. The platform is very intuitive, so it works well for me.

"Cluttered, Confusing menus, extremely difficult compared to competitors"

What do you like best about ClickUp?

What do you dislike about ClickUp?

It extremely complicated for no reason. The menus are extremely cluttered, the menus are unintuitive and the few features I actually want to use are hidden or buried. Although I think the thing I find most annoying is that when you are editing something in a pop up window there is no obvious "save" or "close" button, you have to just click somewhere else and assume it will save.. except when you do have to press save in which case that will lose all of the work you've done. There's no way to establish muscle memory on it, so it's about 50/50 that either find myself looking fir a save button that isn't there, or clicking off the window without saving. Did mention it's very difficult to find useful functions that I want, like editing the cell options, or adding columns. The default list is also garbage. Oh, and really dislike the views.. table view is really all I want, having chart view be the default is weird, at work, where we use Monday.com, everyone I know uses table view for everything. What do you like best about ClickUp?

We use ClickUp as a PLM tool for the development, manufacturing, and logistics of our product. I appreciate being able to manage thousands of tasks simultaneously and oversee the work of multiple departments, easily distinguishing between up-to-date and incorrect information.

When a new employee joins, I train them on using ClickUp. We never have questions about its functionality, as the interface is simple and intuitive for everyone.

We use custom-configured tables and dashboards daily, which allow us to spot delays in the product lifecycle.

I can quickly answer any questions my colleagues have about the product—whether regarding payments, deadlines, lists, or who to contact for next steps. We are constantly optimizing our workflow by creating shared and individual views for employees or specific tasks, and we also utilize Excel import/export features.

ClickUp offers instant search and filtering capabilities across our vast database of over 20,000 tasks.

Whenever we run into difficulties, the support team is always available, providing clear feedback accompanied by screenshots and videos.

The price reflects the quality. We experience some staff turnover, and the fact that we aren't charged the full monthly fee when users change is a nice bonus. We also use additional paid ClickUp automations every month; any team member can easily set up these automations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ClickUp?

We work with images constantly, so the visual aspect is crucial for us; it would be great to have the option to increase the row height beyond the current "Huge" setting. This is really important to us, as most of our staff—including the CEO—are creatives.

Regarding dashboards, we would like filters to apply to view cards as well. This would reduce the effort involved in setting filters in two separate places and minimize errors; ideally, we want to get the desired result with just a couple of clicks.

We also use webhooks and custom scripts as an add-on for complex calculations and database synchronization, since ClickUp’s formulas have a limited set of functions.

It is impossible to change a field type after creation, so we have had to delete old fields and transfer their data to new ones. For instance, we might have a text field but notice a pattern of recurring values and want to convert it into a dropdown menu. Doing so would reduce the number of requests sent to the IT department.

Unfortunately, ClickUp is currently unavailable in Russia, so we have to use a workaround. This is quite disappointing for us, too. However, we found a solution and were able to continue our collaboration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is ClickUp solving and how is that benefiting you?

ClickUp creates a unified system for our entire product, integrating the functionality of multiple departments. We moved away from a mess of disconnected, publicly accessible Google Sheets; for the past three and a half years, we’ve had a shared environment where it’s easy to access the information we need and generate reports for analysis and management.

Dashboards are essential for aggregating data and managing issues; opening a dashboard card allows us to work directly with the relevant fields. We currently have nearly 200 of them—something that would be incredibly labor-intensive in Google Sheets. Hiding columns, creating new views, and managing endless tabs for different needs is far less convenient than using ClickUp. The key is simply understanding what constitutes the core entity of your project.

As the ClickUp administrator for our company, I can handle any task—even a new one—in 30 minutes or less. This frees up my time to think through and analyze future improvements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

A configuração inicial foi bem simples: criamos o espaço, adicionamos os usuários e ajustamos rapidamente os detalhes operacionais das tarefas. Além disso, o ClickUp atende 100% das minhas demandas atuais, mesmo na versão gratuita. Ainda não senti a necessidade de fazer o upgrade para versão paga, mas quando acontecer esse gargalo acredito que o farei sem pensar duas vezes, pois o custo x benefício é muito bom.

A interface é complexa, com muitas opções de visualização, mas ainda assim é bem intuitiva para quem já tem alguma experiência com esse tipo de plataforma.

O ClickUp Brain é um plus e me ajuda a exportar relatórios referentes às tarefas de forma muito rápida. Ele é bem limitado na versão free, mas, como workaround, se conecta muito bem via MCP; hoje em dia, não crio mais nada manualmente — faço o input no Claude e ele cria e organiza para mim diretamente dentro do ClickUp.

No geral, a plataforma é bem fluida em termos de performance, exceto quando preciso mover múltiplas tarefas com drag and drop: ela tende a “duplicá-las” visualmente, e aí é necessário dar um refresh para voltar a se ajustar. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Furthermore, ClickUp Brain’s contextual integration is exceptionally practical; instead of querying an isolated AI model and repeatedly copying project context, Brain directly accesses our active tasks and workspace docs to generate actionable task checklists, summarize architectural decisions, and maintain execution velocity across technical sprints. What do you dislike about ClickUp?

Overall, ClickUp performs exceptionally well, but one specific area that could use refinement is the mobile experience for time tracking.

Specifically, managing and logging entries via the Time Sheet feature on the mobile app feels noticeably less intuitive and slightly cumbersome compared to the smooth, seamless workflow on the web version. On desktop, adjusting tracked hours and switching between tasks is quick, whereas on mobile it requires extra navigation steps.

ClickUp solves the major issue of tool fragmentation and context sprawl across our engineering sprints. Previously, tracking tasks, system architecture docs, sprint backlogs, and team discussions required juggling multiple isolated platforms, which caused constant context switching and misaligned priorities.

By centralizing everything into one unified workspace, ClickUp significantly streamlines our delivery cycles. The direct benefit is that our technical specifications, execution checklists, and progress statuses live together in a single ecosystem. What do you like best about ClickUp?

I love how customizable ClickUp is. The true value, for me, comes from the democratization of dashboards and reporting, which are powerful tools if you have good inputs. I also find the planner to be amazing because it lets me set priorities and block out time on my calendar using estimated time, which is incredibly helpful. Additionally, I appreciate the feature called Brain, which assists me in numerous ways and gets more helpful every day. Artifacts are also awesome and getting better each day. I think sometimes there are too many ways to do one thing. It's not necessarily wrong, but even two identical teams might not do the exact same thing in the same manner. What do you like best about ClickUp?

ClickUp helps me keep my everyday to-do lists and work tasks organized in one place. The UI is clean and makes it easy to track tasks, deadlines, and progress. I especially like the customizable spaces and integrations, which help keep my workflow organized without switching between too many apps.

Getting set up with ClickUp was relatively straightforward, and I found the available guides and resources helpful when I needed to understand certain features. The platform is quite intuitive, so I was able to learn and explore most of the functions on my own without needing extensive training or support. The onboarding experience was smooth overall, and having access to helpful resources made it easier to get familiar with the platform.

The performance is reliable for daily use, and the AI features are useful for organizing and speeding up tasks. Personally, I’m quite surprised by how helpful the AI can be. I haven’t subscribed to a paid plan yet, but I believe the pricing is reasonable for the features provided, especially considering how much time it can save by keeping all my tasks and work organized in one place.

"Honest, Low-Hallucination AI That Speeds Up Lectures and Presentations"

What do you like best about ClickUp?

It understands what I need, and is very honest and candid about its capabilities. Also, it doesn't seem to suffer from hallucinations, and is honest when it comes to getting academic information from behind paywalls (and it seems to be developing a sense of humour). I can write lectures and make presentations in minutes or (at worst) hours, rather than days. It is easy to dump the output into things like Word, or upload it to the subject website(s). What do you dislike about ClickUp?

It would be handy if it could read Word docs and PowerPoints directly, rather than having to convert them to PDFs. It would also be nice if it could actually make PowerPoint slide decks as well as HTML presentations (although they are quite good). The interface is cluttered and it can be hard to navigate. Everything is there, but there is still no way to organize by category.
