**What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?**

One Downside of Entra id is that some of its advanced security features, such as conditional access policies, are only available in higher tier licences. This can increase costs for organization that want to fully utitlize its security capabilities

**What problems is Microsoft Entra ID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsodt Entra id Helps solve key challenges related to identity management,Access controls and securing organizational resources. In many env, Managing user identites across multiple applications and systems cam become complex and difficult to to control. ### 3. Promising Features but Overwhelming Complexity

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arnes O. | Founder & Lead Content Creator, Management Consulting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Entra ID?**

The 'Security Defaults' allow me to instantly deploy Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) across my entire organization without needing a dedicated security team. As the founder of Brzi AI, having enterprise-grade identity management (SSO, Conditional Access) available for a lean startup is critical for protecting our IP and data from day one.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?**

The learning curve for the initial configuration can be steep for non-technical founders. The interface is powerful but dense; distinguishing between 'User Settings' and 'Enterprise Applications' requires significant documentation reading. It is clearly built for IT professionals, which can be overwhelming for small business owners implementing it solo.

**What problems is Microsoft Entra ID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am self-implementing Entra ID to centralize access control for my new AI venture, Brzi AI. Previously, I struggled with fragmented logins across different SaaS tools. Entra ID now acts as our 'Front Door,' ensuring that access to our development environments and business data is strictly governed and auditable, even for a remote/distributed team context.

 ### 4. Strong, Practical Identity and Access Security with Clear Visibility and Controls

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Entra ID?**

What I like most about Microsoft Entra ID is how it brings identity, access, and security controls together in a way that’s practical to manage while still being strong from a risk perspective. It provides a clear view of who has access to what, supports least-privilege access through groups and Conditional Access, and makes it straightforward to add layers like MFA, compliance checks, and sign-in risk controls. From an operations standpoint, the built-in access reviews, audit logs, and sign-in reporting help me answer real-world questions more quickly—whether I’m responding to an incident or pulling evidence for an audit.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?**

What I dislike about Microsoft Entra ID is that it can feel overly complex for day-to-day tasks. Even simple changes often require too many clicks and too much menu-hopping. The portal’s layout and feature naming can also be confusing, especially when options move around or get renamed, which makes troubleshooting slower than it needs to be. Licensing is another frustration, since some genuinely useful features are locked behind higher-tier plans, and there isn’t clear in-product guidance about what’s included versus what you’re missing.

**What problems is Microsoft Entra ID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Entra ID helps solve the challenge of keeping access secure without making day-to-day work painful. It allows me to manage logins, enforce MFA, and review access from a single place instead of juggling separate tools, which lowers risk and saves time when something goes wrong. For me, the biggest benefits are fewer manual access checks, clearer visibility into who has access to what, and far less guesswork when I need to lock something down or explain our controls.

 ### 5. Effortless User Management, Needs Better Change Testing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pete P. | Technology Comms - Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Entra ID?**

I really appreciate Microsoft Entra ID's ability to group users together in AD Groups and its integration with other apps via Enterprise Applications. This has been very helpful for us, especially with our application, Genesys Cloud. By integrating Genesys with Microsoft Entra, we can group users automatically in Entra, ensuring that the correct users get the correct calls. The initial setup was very easy for us as well. By using Entra ID Groups, we can split users in dynamic groups, which is a feature I find very useful.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?**

There are times where changes made by Microsoft don't seem to be fully tested and cause outages.

**What problems is Microsoft Entra ID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Microsoft Entra ID for organizing users and deploying permissions via Entra AD Groups. It integrates with Genesys Cloud, ensuring correct user call routing. The setup is very easy, allowing us to dynamically group users.

 ### 6. Centralized Identity Management with Seamless Microsoft Integration and Strong Security

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeremy M. | Director of IT, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Entra ID?**

Microsoft Entra ID is most valued for its centralized identity management, seamless integration with the Microsoft ecosystem (Office 365, Azure), and robust security features like Conditional Access and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). Its ability to automate user lifecycles, support SSO for third-party SaaS apps, and enable secure,, adaptive access across hybrid environments.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?**

its high licensing costs for advanced features (especially P2 for PIM), a steep learning curve due to complex configurations, and confusing licensing tiers. It has poor documentation, slow synchronization, and a challenging user interface.

**What problems is Microsoft Entra ID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the critical problem of fragmented, insecure identity management across SaaS cloud environments by offering a centralized, intelligent identity service. It secures access, streamlines user experience with single sign-on (SSO), and enforces zero-trust security policies.

 ### 7. EntraID: Seamless M365 Integration, Powerful Automation, and Phenomenal Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Antonio D. | Lead Product Engineer, Financial Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Entra ID?**

We've found that EntraID (which replaced Azure AD) is super integrated and easy to implement. It's built into our M365 subscriptions and the customer support is phenomenal. For most of our daily products we rely on it under the hood. It has a ton of features that allow us to manage license assignments and automate group allocations and permissions and roles across various products. For myself, as a dev as well as a user, I use it daily without it being in my way and it's really easy to integrate and use.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?**

Unfortunately, one of the most advertised and demoed features, such as automatic access reviews or advanced risk-based sign-in protection, depends on the most expensive Premium P2 license. That isn’t made very obvious, and the licensing matrix around EntraID is not always easy to understand or work with. On top of that, there have been a lot of deprecations that frustrate long-time Azure AD users, especially around older tools like MSOnline PowerShell. This can be particularly annoying for SysAdmins in environments that were using Azure AD well before EntraID replaced it.

**What problems is Microsoft Entra ID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

EntraID provides our business with SSO and a central point for user access management, onboarding, and related tasks. It lets us control where users can sign in to business resources, and it also gives users a single set of credentials, which simplifies access. Most of our users sign in to web services using their Windows account, which is provisioned to their machine through our domain via EntraID / Azure Active Directory. This helps us manage and track access, and reduce unauthorized use of various services. Access to servers and other resources is managed through groups, with approvals handled by managers using a third-party tool we built in-house around EntraID.

 ### 8. Strong, Scalable Identity Platform with Seamless Integration and Robust Security

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manjunath K. | Lead-Compute & Tools Admin, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Entra ID?**

Microsoft Entra ID provides a strong and scalable identity platform with seamless integration across Microsoft 365, Azure, and third-party applications. Features like Conditional Access, MFA, and Single Sign-On significantly improve security while enhancing user experience. Centralized identity management, granular access controls, and strong compliance capabilities make it well-suited for enterprise and hybrid environments.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?**

Advanced security features are heavily license-dependent, which increases cost for enterprises. Troubleshooting Conditional Access and authentication issues can be complex due to limited error transparency. The portal experience can feel fragmented at times, and changes or updates are not always clearly communicated, which can impact administration and learning curves

**What problems is Microsoft Entra ID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Entra ID helps address identity sprawl, inconsistent access controls, and security risks across cloud and hybrid environments. By centralizing identity and access management, it supports secure Single Sign-On, strong authentication with MFA, and Conditional Access based on user, device, and risk signals. As a result, it helps reduce unauthorized access, strengthen compliance, streamline user lifecycle management, and lower operational overhead, while still delivering a consistent and secure user experience.

Integration of all microsoft apps.
Ease of use and functionality of the features that come along with Entra.
Performance has been consistent if not better than my expectations.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?**

Support for any Microsoft product is abysmal at best. This is something that needs to be fixed.
Pricing is very high, even for non-profits.

**What problems is Microsoft Entra ID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Integration into Apps - because we use a lot of apps that are integrated with 365, one login helps with staff and users, so they don't need to worry about multiple logins.

This includes the integration with OKTA, since that is our MFA vendor.

 ### 10. Seamless Identity Management with Robust Security Features

Overall, I feel confident enough to rate it a 10 and recommend it.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?**

I understand that there is a lot of documentation but it is possible to add more hints to pages. It wasn't exactly easy to set up.

**What problems is Microsoft Entra ID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Microsoft Entra ID for app integration, sorting users into groups with SSO, and conveniently reassigning users in different roles.

 ### 14. Azure Active Directory Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Syed M. | Service Delivery Manager, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Microsoft Entra ID?**

Azure is very cost-effective because of its pay-as-you-go model. I only pay for what I use, which helps manage budgets and avoid unnecessary spending. It lets me run both customer and internal apps in the cloud, saving on hardware and maintenance costs. Scaling is easy—I can increase or decrease resources with just a click. Security is strong with features like multi-factor authentication and app passwords, so data stays safe. Plus, Azure offers high availability with a 99.95% SLA, which means services are reliable and always up.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?**

Using Azure IaaS requires ongoing patching and diligent server monitoring, which is different from SaaS solutions where much of this maintenance is managed for you. It also demands a certain level of expertise, as all the various components must operate smoothly together. One frequent error is over-provisioning resources—what functions well on local servers may not be suitable for the cloud, potentially resulting in avoidable expenses. Without sufficient knowledge, businesses risk spending thousands more than necessary.

**What problems is Microsoft Entra ID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Azure Active Directory (AAD) is both cost-effective and user-friendly. It integrates seamlessly with a wide range of platforms and applications, whether they are on-premises or cloud-based. The service supports Single Sign-On (SSO) combined with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR), making access management straightforward. Security is robust, featuring monitoring and alerts for any unusual login attempts. AAD also ensures high availability and offers conditional access, as well as Privileged Identity Management (PIM), which provides an audit trail to monitor suspicious activity on privileged accounts. The MFA options are diverse, including app authentication, tokens, SMS, and voice calls, which adds to its flexibility and security.

 ### 15. Fragmented Admin Portal, Confusing Licensing, and Occasional Slowness in Entra ID

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Entra ID?**

I like how Microsoft Entra ID delivers a unified, consistent identity layer across Microsoft services. Its integration with Azure, Microsoft 365, and third‑party apps feels smooth, so managing access policies, MFA, and conditional access comes across as straightforward instead of fragmented.

The admin experience is another major strength. The portal makes it simple to review sign‑in patterns, apply security baselines, and automate user lifecycle tasks. Features like Conditional Access and Identity Protection add real value by cutting down on manual security work while still providing fine‑grained control.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?**

Some parts of the admin experience still feel fragmented. A few settings are still tucked away in the old Azure AD blades, while others have moved into the newer Entra portal, so you sometimes end up jumping between interfaces just to finish a single task. As a result, navigation feels less intuitive than it should be.

Licensing can be confusing as well. Features like Conditional Access templates, Identity Protection, and lifecycle automation are spread across different tiers, and it isn’t always clear which plan unlocks which capability. That uncertainty adds friction when you’re planning deployments or trying to scale up.

From a performance standpoint, the portal also occasionally feels slow, especially when loading audit logs or sign-in data, which can interrupt your workflow when you’re in the middle of troubleshooting.

**What problems is Microsoft Entra ID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Entra ID addresses the challenge of managing identity and access across a mix of cloud services, SaaS apps, and on‑prem systems. Rather than maintaining separate authentication flows or manually enforcing security policies in different places, it centralizes everything, users, devices, MFA, and conditional access, into a single hub. This reduces operational overhead and makes it much easier to apply and maintain consistent security across the entire environment.

 ### 16. Entra ID Makes Third-Party Integration and Access Control Scalable

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Entra ID?**

Entra ID integrates very well with third-party services, which helps reduce deployment concerns, and it provides auditing and logging right out of the gate. Integration with third-party SaaS also makes it possible to manage access control appropriately at scale. That said, I’d still like to see continued improvements to B2B collaboration, along with further enhancements to Identity for Defender. Overall, we rarely experience outages or performance issues.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?**

There’s a lack of granular conditional access policies, along with limitations in conditional access scoping and asset selection for large-scale firms. I also find the Graph API permissions too coarse for proper scoping, particularly when interacting with Entra ID directory data.

**What problems is Microsoft Entra ID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Centralised identity management.

 ### 17. Centralized IAM with SSO, MFA, and Conditional Access That Strengthens Security

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Antonio J P. | Pre-sales consultant and IT manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Entra ID?**

It benefits my organization by centralizing and strengthening identity and access management, improving security and simplifying administration.

Specifically:

Secure access to applications and resources with single sign-on (SSO).

Enhanced protection with multi-factor authentication and conditional access policies.

Reduced operational burden by managing users and permissions from a single location.

Scalability and compliance, ideal for hybrid and cloud environments.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?**

Some types of licensing have a high cost.

**What problems is Microsoft Entra ID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Disorganized passwords and logins: Unify credentials.

Security risks: Reduce unauthorized access with MFA and conditional access.

Manual user management: Automate user creation, deletion, and permission changes.

Access from anywhere: Securely control access to cloud and on-premises resources.

Lack of visibility: Provide auditing and logging to monitor who accesses and when.

Regulatory compliance: Helps meet security requirements and regulations.

 ### 18. Streamlined Access and Robust Security with Entra ID

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jenson S.

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Entra ID?**

I love Microsoft Entra ID for its seamless integration with a wide range of applications and services, both inside and outside the Microsoft ecosystem. Its Conditional Access policies give me granular control over user access, which allows for tailored security based on user identity, device compliance, and location. The single sign-on (SSO) capability enhances user experience while keeping robust security standards intact. Overall, Entra ID effectively balances security and usability, making identity management simpler for organizations. Additionally, the initial setup was perfect and easy.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?**

One area for improvement is the complexity of certain advanced features, which can make configuration and troubleshooting challenging for less experienced administrators. Additionally, more intuitive guidance or pre-built templates for common scenarios would be beneficial. Reporting and auditing capabilities, while robust, could be more user-friendly and customizable.

**What problems is Microsoft Entra ID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Microsoft Entra ID to address identity sprawl, weak authentication, and access complexity, which simplifies user management, enhances security, and ensures compliance, reducing IT admin overhead and improving overall efficiency.

 ### 19. Centralized Access Management with Learning Curve

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Achirachaya T. | Python Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Entra ID?**

I like that Microsoft Entra ID provides a single point of entry for every service, so there's no need to log into each one individually. The access management is very advanced, allowing me to cover some nuanced permissions. Managing permissions in one place for every user makes it easy to set up and remove if needed, instead of configuring it in a bunch of different services.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?**

I'm not sure if it's a disadvantage, but because Microsoft has a lot of services and they are connected between each other, it requires you to learn how to set it up correctly because sometimes it works incorrectly after the initial setup.

**What problems is Microsoft Entra ID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Microsoft Entra ID to manage access and permissions for Azure services, ensuring users have the necessary access to complete tasks. It provides a single entry point and advanced access management, making it easy to manage permissions without configuring multiple services.

**What do you like best about Microsoft Entra ID?**

I have used Microsoft Entra ID to create app registrations, which I’m currently using to set up email integration between Microsoft and other applications I’m working on. For example, I use Fluent SMTP to connect my website with my Microsoft 365 email. Entra ID helps with the authentication side by providing an authentication token, Application ID and client secret. Overall, it’s been easy to set up.

I also use it regularly with other apps, such as RTIR, to connect to mail so I can read and write emails from within those applications without having to log into my email directly.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?**

MFA takes a lot of time, and sometimes the password requirements don’t make much sense.

**What problems is Microsoft Entra ID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s helping me solve the problem of having to manually move from one system to another. It automates the flow between various systems and provides security features such as MFA, which helps keep my business and users secure.

 ### 26. Comprehensive IAM with Robust Security Features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** M S. | Specalist Systems Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Entra ID?**

I like that Microsoft Entra ID provides a centralized identity platform with built-in security features such as Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Conditional Access, and access governance. This setup helps reduce risk, supports compliance requirements, and allows for secure remote and hybrid work. I appreciate the seamless integration with Microsoft 365 and other cloud applications, which boosts productivity while cutting down on operational complexity. Entra ID has become foundational for managing identities securely at scale.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?**

While Microsoft Entra ID is a powerful identity platform, there are a few areas where I feel it could be improved. One challenge I experience is complexity in configuration and policy management. Features like Conditional Access and identity governance are very powerful, but they come with a learning curve. The policy setup and troubleshooting process can sometimes be difficult, especially when multiple policies interact and affect sign-in behavior. Licensing clarity is another area for improvement. Some advanced features such as Conditional Access, Identity Protection, and access governance require specific premium licenses. It’s not always straightforward to understand which features are included in which license, which can make planning and cost management more difficult. I’ve also found that documentation and UI consistency could be better. With frequent updates and rebranding from Azure AD to Entra ID, some documentation and portal navigation still feel inconsistent or outdated, which can slow down implementation and troubleshooting. Troubleshooting sign-in issues can sometimes be time-consuming. While logs are detailed, identifying the exact reason for access failures or policy blocks isn’t always intuitive, particularly for less experienced administrators. Lastly, integration with non-Microsoft or legacy applications occasionally requires additional configuration or workarounds compared to Microsoft-native services, where the experience is much smoother.

**What problems is Microsoft Entra ID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Entra ID centralizes identity management, strengthens security with MFA and Conditional Access, and enables seamless SSO, simplifying remote work. It improves governance and compliance with access reviews and role-based controls, integrating well with existing infrastructure to solve fragmented identity management and enhance user experience.

It is useful for simplifying and securing identity and access management.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?**

Error reporting needs improvement, and the console feels complex. Making it more user-friendly and reducing errors would create a much better experience. Connecting Microsoft Entra ID with some legacy apps can be tricky, as older systems sometimes need extra configuration. Going hybrid with Entra ID is more complex, and you’ll need an expert for hybrid configuration—without one, it’s very hard to manage.

**What problems is Microsoft Entra ID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Microsoft Entra ID for effortless identity and access management. It ensures secure app access with single sign-on, integrating seamlessly with our hybrid Active Directory for smooth authentication across cloud and on-prem systems.

Some configurations, especially around Conditional Access and advanced security policies, can be complex and not always intuitive at first. Licensing can also be confusing, as certain features are spread across different plans, making it harder to understand what is included without careful review. Troubleshooting authentication or access issues can sometimes take longer than expected due to limited visibility in error messages.

**What problems is Microsoft Entra ID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Entra ID helps us centralize identity management and secure access to applications and cloud resources. It allows us to enforce consistent authentication policies, reduce the risk of unauthorized access, and simplify user onboarding and offboarding. **What do you like best about Microsoft Entra ID?**

I use Microsoft Entra ID for client authentication in internal projects because it offers easy and quick access through users' Microsoft accounts along with a promising authentication service. It eliminates the need for other paid tools and ensures faster, safer, and more reliable authentication. I particularly like its reliability and security, as we have never encountered authentication holes, and our clients have never complained about security issues. Additionally, when used together with SharePoint, Microsoft Entra ID works wonders by ensuring total authentication based on the user's group.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?**

So we faced problem when we used it with Vite & React. The handshake couldn't be completed so it was kind of tough to implement it with such projects. So sometimes it can be very complicated to implement it in some projects that are not based out of the Microsoft ecosystem. If they can improve their libraries and ensure that developers can use it easily, would be the best. Even an improved documentation and a quick walkthrough would be really a gamechanger for the developers to adopt it. Easy with Microsoft ecosystem products, tougher with the non-Microsoft entities.

**What problems is Microsoft Entra ID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Entra ID solves the need for other paid authentication tools, providing faster, safer, and reliable client authentication with Microsoft accounts.

Some advanced settings can be complex and require specialized knowledge. Error messages and troubleshooting tools are not always clear, which can slow down the resolution process.

**What problems is Microsoft Entra ID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the challenge of managing identities and access across multiple applications and environments. It provides secure authentication and conditional access, reducing the risk of unauthorized access. By centralizing identity management, it eliminates the complexity of managing separate credentials and improves user productivity.

**What do you like best about Microsoft Entra ID?**

The platform provides a broad array of features, and I find several of them particularly impressive.

Entra Applications allow for seamless integration and management, making it easier to handle various services. Single Sign-On (SSO) simplifies access across different platforms
Privileged Identity Management (PIM) ensures secure and controlled access to important resources.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security for user logins
Password Complexity Management enforces strong password policies to help protect accounts.
Conditional Access (CA) Policies and Management offer granular control over access, allowing for tailored security based on specific conditions.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?**

Not at this time but BA team continuously working on it to optimize the application performance.

**What problems is Microsoft Entra ID solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Among the many events and issues I've resolved, one that stands out is when I first configured an MS Entra application and assigned it using Single Sign-On (SSO).
This setup automatically provisioned the application to all user profiles, making it significantly easier to manage through inclusion and exclusion rules.
