You can also use labels and subactions to provide you with more granular management of projects. I also really like the feature which allows you monitor the progress of the project, and the ability to add in new statuses to individual tasks within a project. **What do you dislike about Hive?** When moving tasks from one project to another, depending on the setup, you may lose labels or people assigned to that particular task within the project. While this is not a huge issue, it may result in colleagues missing out on specific tasks, if it goes unnoticed. **Recommendations to others considering Hive:** To make full use of Hive, I would recommend using forms to allow your client to brief in any projects or updates. This way you can automatically assign labels and colleagues to your projects to ensure projects are picked up quickly, and any potential issues can be easily spotted. **What problems is Hive solving and how is that benefiting you?** Working from home has meant delegating tasks requires numerous emails and back and forth with colleagues. With Hive, you can manage these back and forth communications in one place, on one ticket, drastically reducing the number of emails you receive on a day-to-day basis. Its also great when sharing large files as part of briefs from our client. Emails only allow for certain file sizes, especially when you and your client have conflicting internal work places i.e. google or microsoft, but with Hive large files such as videos can be uploaded with individual tasks. **Official Response from Addison Goff:** > Thank you for the great review! You can customize view options, have the option for a lot of add-on features, and just let Hive work the way it best suits you. I also like how Hive really cares about its customers, and has an option where customers can vote on which features they would like to see get implemented or fixed. **What do you dislike about Hive?** We were abruptly forced off our last project management software, and we found there was a long adjustment period, especially with the proofing (feedback, notifications, stages). It would be helpful if the proofing was more fleshed out. Also, proofing doesn't work as well for .gif and video files. We also wish there was an easier way to see a calendar view than 'summary view'. **What problems is Hive solving and how is that benefiting you?** Hive helps increase efficiency among our team. While there's a lot of features we don't use (cloud integration, chat, etc.), the possibilities are rich. I also like being able to see everything in the calendar view to know what my week looks like and the status view to get a bigger idea of ongoing and completed projects. **What do you dislike about Hive?** I wish the date was easier to set, and that it let you see things in more of a week setting, like assign to this week, instead of just the deadline day. **Recommendations to others considering Hive:** Make sure to watch a tutorial video and explore all the facets of Hive. Also be sure to create action templates as those will save you a lot of time in the future. Make sure you explore every view too, so you can see everything that needs to be done or that has been completed so you are maximizing your time and not missing anything. My calendar view is my favorite to see personally what I have to do, and the status view gives a picture of what my whole team needs to do, that way if someone is overloaded we can step in and help out. **What problems is Hive solving and how is that benefiting you?** Hive saves a lot of time where normally you would spend your time asking for clarification or status reports on something, everything is clear and laid out for you. I also like the messenger to eliminate sending/ receiving even more emails, it ensures instantaneously clarification even when working with people remotely. ### 4. It hosts enough views that it's easy to move from an Exec summary to a per-team member drill down in seconds. Adding tasks is easy, as is managing teams. We also use Hive for our organizational resourcing. It's transformed how we look at our teams and how we provide support within our multi-disciplinary framework. **What do you dislike about Hive?** I wish I could import tasks from a .csv easily. We use Google Drive for our documents, and sometimes, documents can get lost in the drive. However, with Hive, when creating a project (or a to do list), you can easily include google docs, spreadsheets, etc. to the project for easy access. **What do you dislike about Hive?** I wish there were more project templates to use. There are many ways to complete assignments.There are many different tools to use. **What do you dislike about Hive?** It is NOT intuitive. There are so many ways to do things that it takes quite a while for the 'older' generation to learn it. Younger folks have less trouble. I really DISLIKE the fact that there is no dark mode. The white space makes the screen hard to read and I do not like spending much time on the product. **Recommendations to others considering Hive:** This is one of the best products on the market for the legal industry. Some changes need to be made to improve the user experience such as more intuitive steps, fewer options, as well as implementing a dark mode option - which is more critical than the developers might realize if a user has to have the product open all day.
