OMG. I spent 3 hrs trying to connect my Gmail account to outlook desktop.

First, outlook insisted on getting access to ALL my gmail including Google Drive where I store personal and sensitive information.

Then after digging and googling and more research I found a trick , not documented, to use SMTP server settings to make the connection. I finally got that to work. Then I checked my Calendar - not connected still to gmail. I tried connecting it, again no documentation. Finally Gemini told me how and I followed the steps, again using workarounds to find the proper settings page in Outlook. That seems to have worked. BUT, outlook calendar is not pulling / synching with gmail calendar yet. Then MSFT docs told me to login into outlook.com to finish the Cal setup. I logged in, using my msft account, but now Calendar 365 wants me to create a new outlook email. I tried the one that I had created in Outlook desktop but it would not recognize that I already own it - it complains that the account exists - yes dummy it does exist, I just created it with your sister app: outlook desktop.

So, I paid $129 subscription to get this crap. Thank You MSFT for a wasted 3 hrs. I'm canceling this and using Google docs moving forward - for free!

Everything so far. I can't send emails. It doesn't like propertly to my 365 email account. It doesn't connect to my gmail nor google calendar. It's basically a dead application sitting on my desktop. I paid a subscription for this mess and it's useless. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's convoluted, slow, often not sending email and the calendar is a shamble. Cancelling a meeting sends invites for the same meeting ! I am glad I will never use iit again for business. I am using MS Outlook from last more than 4 years, it's been wonderful expeirence with Outlook, all the features, ease of using tools and specially integrated systems like MS teams where I can track my calendars easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

the email... It was pretty basic. I am not sure what I liked best about outlook, I didn't prefer to use it hardly at all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
