Very infrequently the endpoint agent will malfunction. This is very rare but is a major problem when it does.

There isnt a specific thing i dislike. For us it does what it needs to do and therefore serves it’s purpose.

**What do you like best about Datto RMM?**

I like that Datto RMM allows us to remotely manage and troubleshoot issues that clients or end users are experiencing without having to be physically at the device. It’s great for monitoring devices’ online and offline status so we can address issues effectively if a device goes offline. Plus, the chat functionality is really helpful because it lets us engage with users on the other device even before starting to troubleshoot or gather more info about the issue.

**What do you dislike about Datto RMM?**

Latency is always a big issue, and the backend could provide more robust services. The PowerShell integration lags and needs improvement because there's still a lot of lag. It disconnects and doesn't work as effectively as I want it to be.

**What problems is Datto RMM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datto RMM allows us to troubleshoot issues remotely without being physically at the device, and it helps monitor device online and offline status while engaging with users through chat. This solves a lot of issues efficiently.

**What do you like best about Datto RMM?**

I like the ability to assign different devices to different sites. You can treat these sites as separate companies, so if you’re an MSP you can organize each company’s devices accordingly. I also appreciate being able to globally search across all device names (when known), along with the strong search functionality overall and its extensive set of filter options.

**What do you dislike about Datto RMM?**

The complexity can be a bit much. There’s a lot to learn, and if you’ve never worked in an RMM before, you’ll likely struggle to find your way around everything—from adjusting your profile options to creating new sites.

**What problems is Datto RMM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are plenty of support options, including the ability to set variables globally based on overarching rules, or to apply site-specific rules when needed. It also supports the remote monitoring side of working in an MSP, where you often need to access a wide range of different devices.

Datto has been an amazing tool for our MSP. Its remote capabilities are great and allow us to quickly assist our customers. It has some good automations and integrates into most of our other systems really well. It is very handy for a smaller sized MSP and enables us to compete with others. They have great support staff who always help out when they can.

The pricing can be a bit erratic and the user interface isnt great either

Some times, it is causing issue like although the device is online and have enough licenses but unable to login to device.
Also, sometimes, it is very slow, although internet is very good.

**What do you like best about Datto RMM?**

I have been using Datto RMM for a little over 2 years and it has been really great. Easy to navigate interface with a thoughtful layout. Easy to connect to client environments and integrations with IT Glue makes entering credentials a breeze. The ease of implementation for Datto on endpoints is so far the best with multiple ways to deploy the agents and a simplistic installation makes removes barriers and there are no configurations post deployments on the endpoints. I use this on on a daily basis for work and customer support and i would say i spend more then 5 hours a days easily as this is the only RMM tool i use to support our clients .

**What do you dislike about Datto RMM?**

At times the agents freezes but its very very rare. It sometimes takes few attempts to connect but it could be due to internet issues and not Datto RMM.

**What problems is Datto RMM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy to connect to client environments. Clients are grouped under sites and the search feature is the best i have come across. Looking for a particular client or endpoint by username or device name is so helpful. The major issue i think Datto RMM has solved is the ability to patch devices remotely and see what patches have been successfully deployed and what has failed with detailed logs.

We like how we can allow clients access to remote into their systems.

We wish the Splashtop Remote Access included the ability to print found in the higher version of Splashtop. If they can't include it for free, it would be nice if we could turn the feature on at a cost. Currently, we have contracts with Kaseya for DattoRMM and additional contracts with Splashtop for the higher version that includes print capabilities for our clients.

DattoRMM has been solving the patch management pieces, although the WIndows 11 Compatibility checker is still hit or miss, this has helped us review with clients which computers can potentially be upgraded and weed out a lot that we know aren't going to take Windows 11 at all.

Web remote and Splashtop offer outstanding features for remote access to end-user systems. Additionally, the robust automation capabilities enable us to schedule jobs for single or multiple devices, even at the site level. Patch management and many more features. Integration with Datto BCDR and Datto SAAS backups simplifies backup management within a single portal. The user-friendly GUI facilitates easy integration and implementation for new clients and devices. We depend on this platform daily to manage over 100 clients, and the 24/7 support ensures we receive prompt assistance whenever needed.

Not any single feature, all are best and easy to manage.

As an MSP, we depend on this application daily. It allows for seamless execution of PowerShell or Command Prompt commands, Event Viewer, Screenshot of the screen through Datto RMM, ensuring minimal disruption to users. I like most the way that we can work on a user computer using agent browser without having to make users stop working. All features works very well but being able to send/get files, powershell, cmd, regedit direclty to the machine is the best thing ever. Also the Microsoft 365 integration saves me a lot of work being able to manage users from the RMM platform.

**What do you dislike about Datto RMM?**

The only thing i dislike is i cant use Windows Keyboard key inside the remote access, it would be nice, or else give me a another shortcut on remote acces for "RUN".

The main and most powerfull help that i have with Datto is automation. You can do almost anything running jobs on servers and workstations.

Datto RMM is the product being used for the remote monitoring and management. It is very easy to implement and easy to use. The numerous features it offers, best suits to maintain the productivity and deliverables of an organization. Very streamlined integration with the tool with the help of API. The customer support is an added advantage which is available 24x7 even with chat support. We use DRMM daily for our customers.

Nothing to dislike about the product so far since we use for more than 5+ years.

**What do you like best about Datto RMM?**

For the most part, the Datto RMM goes through 1 login, and is well integrated.  There was sufficient guidance and free training available to enroll all my clients into the RMM, AV, EDR and cloud backup packages.  It worked!  Unlike another RMM I tried previously.  RMM isn't worth anything if you can't get the component working for you.  The Datto RMM environment works.

**What do you dislike about Datto RMM?**

There is a split in the cloud backup with the V1 and V2 versions.  The V1 version is integrated into the Datto login.  But the V2 cloud backup requires a separate sign in to view status and manage operations. It is not integrated.  Also, recovery from cloud backup can be problematic.  I had to do a bare metal restore of 500GB to a new replacement computer, and it took all of 4 days to download the recovery.  The result would not boot, but I provided Datto/Kaseya support with screenshots and all information, and they were online with me immediately, and we succeeded in recovering the old computer to a new replacement.

1. I have the ability to log in to my client environments and help them directly without going onsite.
2. I have the ability to offer a cloud backup at a cost that my clients are happy with.
3. I can offer and have performed AV / EDR prevention, intervention, and cleanup.  I can isolate a client computer and still log in to it to eradicate the issue.
4. I can offer my clients all of the above at a price they don't balk at.

**What do you like best about Datto RMM?**

I’ve been using Datto RMM for a while now, and overall it’s a solid tool for managing and monitoring devices across different clients. Since it’s cloud-based, setup is pretty easy and there’s no server to maintain, which is a big plus. The agent runs smoothly in the background and doesn’t seem to bog anything down.

One of the biggest benefits is the automation. Being able to run scripts, push updates, or schedule maintenance across a bunch of machines saves a ton of time. Patch management is also one of Datto RMM’s stronger areas — it usually handles Windows updates reliably and gives a good breakdown of what’s installed, what failed, and what still needs attention.

The monitoring and alerting features work well, too. There are plenty of templates to track things like system resources, services, and hardware issues, and alerts can be customized so you’re not flooded with noise.

That said, the platform isn’t perfect. The interface can feel cluttered at times, especially if you’re new to it. Some things take more digging than they should. Reporting is okay, but not super flexible when you want to customize or format things in a specific way. And like any cloud system, sometimes there’s a slight delay before changes or updates show up.

Overall, Datto RMM does what it’s meant to do: it helps keep systems patched, monitored, and secure without constant hands-on work. If you’re managing multiple clients or locations, it definitely makes life easier once you get comfortable with it.

Helps me keep our endpoints under management. Its easy to use and there are a number of features to use. We were able to intergrate our Autotask along with Datto. It is our main software that we use everyday. Here at 210 IT we moved from Atera to Datto RMM for our remote support needs

**What do you dislike about Datto RMM?**

In some instances it has a hard time connecting to the endpoint. The connection will most times timeout but it will connect after sometime.

We use it for our remote support and endpoint management. That benefits us because we are able to service our customers as quickly as possible.

RMM is set to simplify and streamline many of the tasks we currently handle manually. As a two-person IT team supporting a construction company, we often have a lot to manage. With RMM, we can now automate software installations, updates, and essential patches for both devices and servers—something we previously had to do without any automation.

So far, we haven't come across anything we dislike about RMM. That doesn't mean we won't in the future, but at this point, there hasn't been anything negative to mention.

The biggest downside of Datto RMM is the robustness. It covers so much data and features, it takes a considerable amount of time to learn the program and what it can do.

The web remote feature can be very tempremental at times. Apparently the R&D team are working on a fix.

As an IT MSP, we need a way to reliably support, audit and manage out customer devices without the need for engineers to visit sites. This can all be done via Datto RMM. We use inbuilt packages from the com store to support us and can deploy many programs and features via it

It also allows us to connect seamlessly as an administrator and we do not get stuck behind UACS

It gives you a lot of information about the devices on the network, which helps with planning.  Network scanning and onboarding is extremely easy.  There are so many in-line tools that we use a lot, such as Powershell/Command Prompt back-end access, etc.  You can schedule jobs for overnight such as Windows 11 upgrades.

**What do you dislike about Datto RMM?**

The Web-Remote portal sometimes does not work, and the fix isn't totally clear.  Support also can be slow to get back to you.

**What problems is Datto RMM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Through Datto RMM, we are able to support our clients remotely and rarely need an onsite visit.  It also helps us with quoting, looking up specs and programs on devices, etc.
