During development you already know what you changed, so any presentation works. At review, a clear interface means differences grouped by object and by kind, so a reviewer can tell an intentional column addition from an accidental collation change without reading every line. dbForge&#39;s visual schema comparison getting credit for navigation matters most in that second setting. Worth running the evaluation by having someone else review your diff rather than reviewing your own.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

Thing people underweight: being great at SQL Server doesn&#39;t make a tool great at MySQL, and the strongest ones tend to specialize by ecosystem. If you live in MySQL, the tools built natively around it will feel obvious; if you&#39;re SQL Server, a different set is the native home. Anything claiming to do both equally well is worth a little side-eye. Which one is your daily driver? Optimize for the database you touch every day, not the one you open twice a year.
