**Reviewed by:** bhavik m. | Senior Linux Administrator (AWS), Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 30, 2024

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

New in new relic : in synthetic monitoring now simple browser alongwith ping monitoring is added. Synthetic step monitoring is best where we can check health status of e-commerce site at specific interval. New layout comes in picture which is very interactive, calles as catalogues in new relic terms. Where can monitor and switch to any application directly without nevigating anywhere else. NRQL is improved and many other attributes are added. Dashboards tiles are improved then earlier. Distributed tracing has limited scope earlier but since last 1 year it is also improved and in much depth transactions can get monitored and anyone can more closue to root cause of the issue. So yes, distributed tracing is quite best thing.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

Yes, still lagging issue is facing. When we click on dashboards to monitor and click on any log to open, it takes much longer to open. Rest all things seems good.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Any infrastructure related issues, Application response time related issues can be identified and alerted to specific people very smoothly and timely.

  ### 2. Real-Time Insights, Smooth Troubleshooting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rahul P. | Software Developer, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2025

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

I love using New Relic because it provides a clear, real-time view of my system's performance without having to navigate through multiple tools. This aspect is incredibly valuable for me, as it allows me to catch issues the moment they begin, saving me time and making troubleshooting much smoother. I also appreciate how straightforward the initial setup was; installing the agent and getting basic metrics took very little time. Additionally, using New Relic alongside our logging tools and deployment pipeline helps me to connect logs, metrics, and release changes seamlessly, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of issues in context. Overall, New Relic is reliable and effective in providing good visibility into performance.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

I find some areas of New Relic a bit heavy when it comes to navigation, as it requires going through too many menus to reach specific details. Additionally, the loading time could be improved, especially when switching between dashboards during peak traffic moments when quick insights are crucial.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use New Relic to monitor application performance and track issues, helping me spot problems early and reducing troubleshooting time. It's reliable, provides a real-time view, and integrates well with other tools to enhance context understanding.

  ### 3. New Relic Unlocks Powerful Insights with Versatile Dashboards and Browser Monitoring

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sabina K. | IT Operations Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

The way we monitor our application and analyze performance issues has improved enormously since introducing New Relic, as we get new insights that were hidden from us previously. Its versatile dashboards allow team members to select the metrics that are relevant to their area of focus. Moreover, the browser monitoring capability has proven to be a useful as it has helped us to discover frontend performance issues that had a detrimental effect on user retention.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

The pricing structure is volatile and easily scales with high volumes of publication/population rates, which can make budgeting complex. The API also has some advanced functionality only available with the higher-end plans, which feels restrictive for teams with limited enterprise budgets.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

New Relic has addressed the issue of monitoring silos by bringing together our application, infrastructure and user experience monitoring in one place. This has allowed our team to diagnose incidents quicker, which in turn means that we can fix problems quicker, providing our users with a better product.

  ### 4. New Relic: Unified, Real‑Time Observability That Turns Multi‑Service Chaos into Clarity

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ramkumar H. | Senior Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2026

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

The best thing about New Relic, in my view as an observability‑focused AI, is its ability to turn chaotic, multi‑service systems into something you can actually reason about. The platform gives you a single, correlated, queryable source of truth across APM, logs, infra, browser, mobile, synthetics, and custom telemetry, and that changes how teams troubleshoot, optimize, and ship.
New Relic’s strongest advantage is unified, real‑time observability that lets you see exactly where a problem starts, how it propagates, and what to fix first.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

Signal noise — Alerts can get overwhelming if not tuned well. Out oft hebox policies often fire too frequently, and correlation doesn’t always group incidents the way you expect. Steep learning curve — NRQL is powerful, but not intuitive for beginners. Querying events vs metrics vs logs requires mental overhead. UI complexity — The interface is feature rich, but sometimes cluttered. Finding the exact trace, entity, or dashboard can take more clicks than necessary.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

New Relic solves the core observability problems that make modern systems hard to understand, and that directly benefits you in practice by making debugging, performance tuning, and NVF exam preparation dramatically easier.

Fragmented telemetry — In most systems, logs live in one place, metrics in another, traces somewhere else. New Relic unifies them so you can correlate everything instantly.

  ### 5. Complicated, but immensely helpful

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ian B. | Director of CMS Development, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2023

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

Recently New Relic has become more useful for our teams to monitor performance in real-time or close to real-time to detect issues arising from deployments. This is particularly the case as some hosting providers are providing this aspects information in less convenient ways than they used to.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

The UI and knowing where to go to find what you need continues to be the largest challenge. Managing access, user counts etc. when the account a& integration is provided by a third-party can also be confusing. Ideally the user account limits would match what the platform provider says, but they do not in my experience. (New Relic seems to allow more than the third-party says)

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Alerts for performance degradation, scheduled jobs, uptime monitoring, synthetics

  ### 6. Best overall observability platform on the market

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexis C. | Senior DevSecOps Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2023

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

Really close to us the customer and trying to help without over pushing on selling more. really like the relationship

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

Improve maybe a bit on simplicity. Some users we have do not need the full power of newrelic. Sure we could build easy dashboard for them, but even new users that never used newrelic that need to use it get lost quick and the onboarding is painful for them. They aren't useful for a while because they dont know how to navigate

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Giving us data about our apps. helping us troubleshoot weird problems and edge cases after they happened. Getting notified in cases where our app is performing badly.

  ### 7. End-to-End E‑commerce Monitoring That Quickly Pinpoints Checkout Friction

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raghavareddy k. | Associate software engineer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2026

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

New Relic gives end‑to‑end monitoring across every touchpoint—from browsing to checkout—so you can quickly pinpoint friction that affects conversions. It allows you to model critical journeys like checkout and fulfilment and see how performance issues impact revenue.

For an e‑commerce business, this is huge: even small slowdowns at checkout can hurt conversion rates.

New Relic’s DEM tools monitor real customer interactions on web and mobile without blind spots. It provides:

Real‑user monitoring
Synthetic checks
Session replay to view exactly what users experienced

This helps diagnose issues fast and connects frontend errors with backend causes.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

New Relic can feel complex for newcomers. The platform is powerful, but understanding all its dashboards, APM details, and configuration options takes significant time.

Many reviewers note that onboarding requires a noticeable investment, especially for teams new to observability tools.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lack of visibility into the customer journey
Problem:
E‑commerce teams often struggle to understand exactly where users encounter friction—slow product pages, checkout failures, or payment gateway delays.
How New Relic solves it:
New Relic provides end‑to‑end visibility of critical journeys like checkout and fulfillment, showing which technical issues directly impact revenue

  ### 8. Better insight into the product via new relic

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bogendra B. | Lead Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2023

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

Getting started with New Relic is refreshingly simple. The integrations are extensive enough that we rarely hit a use case it couldn't handle. More importantly, the observability it provides has genuinely changed how our team makes decisions — we're no longer flying blind in production.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

Memory usage is an area that needs attention. When tracing code that runs in loops with complex, deeply nested objects, the agent holds the full object graph in memory — eventually leading to OOM errors or stack overflows. We hit this repeatedly across multiple workflows and had to disable tracing on those flows entirely, significantly reducing our visibility. A mechanism to cap object graph depth or stream rather than hold trace data would make the tool much more viable for complex, high-throughput applications.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As I mentioned earlier, it helps bring better observability. It provides insights into the product that helps optimize it based on this information, rather than just trying to optimize by trial. This helped us to trace a request origin across different front ends and UI interfaces that our product supports. This lead to understand the complete request flow end-to-end and thereby helping to take corrective actions where needed.

  ### 9. Clear, Fast Application Performance Visibility with New Relic

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** amit y. | DevOps / DevSecOps, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 14, 2026

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

What I like most about New Relic is how quickly it gives clear visibility into application performance. I’ve used it to monitor Node.js and Python services, and integrating the APM agent was pretty straightforward both in regular deployments and containerized environments. The transaction traces and error insights make it easy to spot slow endpoints or bottlenecks. I also like the dashboards and alerts, which help keep track of application health without much effort. Overall, it makes debugging and performance monitoring much easier for engineering teams.

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

One area that could be improved is the pricing model, especially as telemetry and log ingestion grow. In larger environments it can become difficult to predict costs. The UI is also very feature-rich, which is great, but it can take some time for new users to navigate and find the right views or queries. Some simpler onboarding guides or curated dashboards for common use cases would make it easier for teams getting started with the platform.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

New Relic helps us quickly understand what’s happening inside our applications in production. While working with Node.js and Python services, it made it much easier to identify slow endpoints, failing transactions, and database bottlenecks through APM traces. Instead of relying only on logs, we could see performance issues in real time and debug them faster. This helped reduce troubleshooting time and improved overall application reliability for our teams.

  ### 10. Powerful Observability Tool That Boosts Reliability and Speeds Troubleshooting

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Somya K. | Senior Project Associate, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2025

**What do you like best about New Relic?**

What I like most about New Relic is how it brings everything I need into one place. Instead of jumping between separate tools for logs, metrics, traces, and performance data, New Relic gives me a single dashboard that shows the full picture. It’s clean, intuitive, and the visualisations are easy to understand

**What do you dislike about New Relic?**

While I really like New Relic, there are a few things that can be frustrating at times. First, it can get expensive, especially as you scale up and start monitoring more hosts, containers, or services. The pricing model isn’t always predictable, and sometimes small changes in usage can lead to higher bills than expected.

**What problems is New Relic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it’s really hard to know where bottlenecks or errors are happening. New Relic solves this by giving a single pane of glass to monitor applications, servers, databases, and even user experience in real-time.Another problem it addresses is proactive monitoring. This has helped us improve reliability, reduce downtime, and ensure a smoother experience for our customers.
