Microsoft Teams is a powerful and feature-rich platform, but there are a few areas where I think there’s room for improvement based on my day-to-day experience.

I feel the email organization could be improved, because it becomes difficult to work with multiple folders, shared mailboxes, and long email threads. Important messages can sometimes get buried within conversations, which makes it challenging to quickly locate key information. Another frustration is the occasional synchronization delay between devices. Many times, I receive an immediate notification on my mobile but see a delay on my laptop. What I dislike most about Microsoft Outlook is how often its performance grinds to a halt especially when I’m dealing with a large mailbox or older PST files that have accumulated years of email history. What should be a simple click to open a message or switch folders can turn into a spinning cursor and several seconds of frustrating delay. The search function, which I otherwise admire, occasionally betrays me by failing to locate an email I know exists even when I type the exact subject line or sender name forcing me to manually hunt through folders like it’s 1999.

Crashes and sudden freezes are also more common than I’d like, and when Outlook does go down, the recovery process feels unnecessarily slow and clunky, sometimes taking several minutes to reopen and rebuild what was just lost. On top of that, the desktop version has grown bloated over the years packed with features I’ve never touched making the interface feel overwhelming and chaotic for new users who just want to send an email or set a reminder. Syncing issues across my desktop, mobile, and the web version add another layer of frustration: I’ve often found duplicate calendar entries, missing emails on one device that clearly exist on another, or read messages stubbornly staying marked as unread. The Mac version of Microsoft Outlook is quite heavy on system resources. It tends to consume a lot of memory and can slow down the Mac, especially when running alongside other applications. The best thing about Microsoft Outlook is its integration with the rest of the Microsoft apps in the enterprise suite. Depending on the org you work for, you may find performance and the UI are not as fast or pleasing with Outlook Classic, which, unfortunately, some are still on. I suppose it’s the convenience of having everything at once. I do not need to switch between five separate applications to track my schedule, contact someone, or get something done. The Integration of the calendar makes life easier because I always know when my colleagues are free and make an appointment immediately, no emails involved. The major issue that annoys me is that Outlook is quite heavy on my computer. When too many tabs or other resource-intensive applications are running, Outlook becomes slow; for example, it takes longer to search past emails and open attachments. Another problem that I would like to highlight is the necessity to wait for the email to index or reboot the application to see it immediately after searching. Finally, there is one more issue that needs to be mentioned, although it is minor. Sometimes I receive alerts on my phone; however, my email does not appear on my computer screen within one or two minutes, it may be some integration or sync issue.
