what i like best about samsara is how easy it is to use and how much visibility it gives into daily operations. The real time tracking, reporting, and communication tools help improve efficiency, accountability and overall workflow. **What do you like best about Samsara?**

This is a follow up to my original review; we still love the Samsara GPS system for monitoring our technicians and their locations. It's easy to use, responsive, and gives pertinent information about each vehicle. We value safety and Samsara helps us monitor that effectively.

Samsara is extremely user friendly. Everything is easy to understand, and I think customer support is excellent too.
Our company uses it continuouly throughout each business day.
It provides a number of helpful features, giving us excellent information on each of our drivers.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

I don't know of any downside; I don't know of any improvements that need to be made. Our entire company has been very happy with the Samsara system.

We need to know exactly where are drivers are located throughout the day, so that we can dispatch the nearest driver to the next call. We can also access information about each vehicle, such as vin# and odometer for reports that require this information.

What I like most about Samsara is how everything is in one place. The GPS tracking is really useful, and I like being able to check vehicle locations, driver activity, and alerts without having to use different systems. It saves quite a bit of time and makes day-to-day fleet management easier.

I like being able to review driver behavior and send coaching when needed, while also recognizing good driving. Before using Samsara, we weren’t able to view driver data in a meaningful way. Within the first three months of implementation, our driving scores increased by approximately 15%, and the metrics were able to self-adjust using AI. By looking at speed, g-forces, and durations, we can see the full picture of driving behavior.<br><br>Onboarding wasn’t too difficult overall, although it did take some time to get drivers comfortable with the login and inspection process. The ROI on insurance from having monitoring in place has been huge for us. Driver performance has improved, and we continue to tweak the system as needed to better align with our internal grading measures. The user interface isn’t difficult and feels fairly simple once you get familiar with it.<br><br>This allows us to manage our entire fleet across the US easily and reliably.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

What I’ve found most useful with Samsara is having the tracking information available when I need it. I can look at vehicle locations and activity directly instead of relying entirely on manual communication. For a small business like My Small Space, that visibility is useful because I don’t have someone dedicated to watching the fleet all day.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

We’re still in the process of getting everything fully established, so I wouldn’t describe the project as finished yet. There have been moments where I’ve had to revisit the setup and work out which information is actually relevant to our day-to-day operation. That’s probably the main learning curve so far.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We started using Samsara because keeping track of vehicles was becoming harder than it needed to be. With My Small Space Ltd, I need a clearer picture of where vehicles are, how they are being used, and whether everything is moving as expected without constantly chasing updates.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

Update: I have learned a new feature which helps me immensely when scheduling calls. It is the WEATHER TRACKING! I even use it for my personal planning of events. I really like using it when I am on call after hours. I can look at only the techs on call and not all of the techs in our company. I like the tracking and history. TODAY, we got a call that one of our techs was in an accident and we were able to identify the tech and get to him quickly.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

I really don't know of any downsides of the app.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have some spotty phone service areas and it helps me to know where the techs are and why they may not be answering my calls. In the Florida heat, we need to keep track of techs that have not checked in over a period of time.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

Samsara is constantly improving the platform. Recently trying out the maintenance system as well.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

One thing I can honestly state that is extremely annoying is the constant need to verify my log in on my phone as an administrator. Only takes a little bit longer but in the beginning I could log in and stay logged in no matter what. I think it was a security improvement from them but I don’t like it, just a bit annoying. Secondly, often drivers log out at the end of the day and drive home in personal vehicles and the app logs them back in and they don’t notice and then we have to correct their log. Sometimes drivers switch trucks and either forget to log off the truck or maybe not log in but the system will record drives as the previous driver. The system should match the phone app with the truck gateway with all the smart tech exchange.

Fleet management and starting to utilize it for tracking and monitoring maintenance.

Samsara’s product managers and solution engineers have been willing to roadmap features - like document workflows, reporting customization, and improving accuracy of speeding and safety events - after hearing how our broadline, stores (retail), and specialty fleets operate. That willingness to co-design is rare. Their REST + webhook stack lets us stream telematics, camera events, and environmental sensor data straight into BigQuery, join it to SAP delivery and route data in dbt, and surface cost-to-serve KPIs in near-real time. Few competitors make end-to-end integration this painless. Fleet-wide consistency (ELD, dash cams, asset gateways, temp probes) matters when you’re mixing tractors, reefer trailers, straight trucks, and yard jockeys. One vendor, one SIM, one RMA process. Near real-time GPS pings, sub-degree temperature resolution, and breadcrumbed video clips give operations and data-science teams the resolution they need for driver coaching, cold-chain compliance, and predictive maintenance. I appreciate that Samsara is working on a routing solution, and partnering with customers to develop it into a mature solution to compete with the likes of Descartes, Roadnet, and Ortec.

The reporting is clean but rigid within the Samsara dashboard. We still need to call Samsara API endpoints and offer webhook endpoints in order to extract data into our data lake and we build reporting on top of that. We would suggest Samsara consider adopting Looker into their portfolio of offering allowing customer to build out custom reporting and use conversational analytics. Even better is if they offered Analytics Hub integrations, removing our need to build and support brittle data replication pipelines. Two-year default retention is fine for compliance audits but short for longitudinal analytics; fortunately our data pipeline integrations workaround this shortcoming. Unfortunately, Samsara has a number of event feeds that are only offered via webhook integrations and if there is ever a service disruption, it requires us to reach out to professional services to backfill the gap in telemetry or event data; this is incredibly cumbersome and we would appreciate if they offered some way for us to self-serve backfill that webhook event data. Replacement gateways sometimes take weeks to arrive, forcing us to shuffle hardware between depots to avoid telemetry gaps.

Samsara excels when you need enterprise-grade telemetry that plays nicely with your existing data stack and you value a vendor who iterates with you. We use them largely for their vehicle and asset tracking, DOT compliance, and ELD capabilities; but continue to explore them for temperature tracking use cases and most recently their route planning solution.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I enjoy using Samsera to track where drivers are and to monitor their Hours of Service. At one point Samsera ran smoothly, but over the last few months I’ve noticed a slowdown, and drivers have had more connection issues. We’ve also experienced a lot of lag where driver locations don’t update properly, which is frustrating when the app updates so slowly.

I also haven’t seen Samsera technology integrated with Atlas apps or our contact list, but that would be great to have. The ROI for the app can definitely be validated when it’s working well because it helps us manage our fleet better; however, without consistent updates, the delays and crashes have been happening more often than we’d like.

I would also like better support and training for the app to help new employees get up to speed, both on using the app and on understanding DOT regulations. I’ve used Samsera AI and it’s a cool feature, but it still needs improvement. The AI is slow and not very capable yet, although I do like that it shows the progression of the work it’s doing as it answers questions.

Overall, daily use of Samsera has helped us manage HOS much better, but I feel I have some solid ideas that could lead to useful updates and help move the app forward. Samsara for daily use has been good for the most part, the app helps me navigate through well sites in the Permian Basin and provides clear visibilities of where drivers are and access to their dash cams. These features help logistics specialists and drivers coordinate together with ease to improve on our efficiency.

Samsara has been an invaluable tool for our organization. We have a large fleet made up of multiple operating companies spread out across multiple states and Samsara provides the visibility and data needed to effectively manage compliance, safety, maintenance, and fleet operations from a single platform. One of the biggest benefits has been the continuous innovation of the platform. Samsara regularly introduces new features and product enhancements, which help improve our operations. Samsara's integration of AI-driven insights and safety tools has helped us become a proactive company with regards to safety and at-risk driver behavior, rather than being reactive. Samsara has truly transformed the way we manage our fleet. Real-time visibility, uptime, and ease of use, rather than just ELD compliance. GPS location updates are typically near real-time. Vehicle diagnostics and fault codes are transmitted quickly. Dash cam events and safety alerts are generally available within minutes. The web interface and mobile apps are widely regarded as user-friendly and responsive compared to many legacy platforms. Samsara is also great about automatic software and firmware updates. Their hardware is very dependable. We have had very few defective devices. Less than 6 among a fleet of nearly 900 vehicles.

Not many downsides with Samsara. There are times when pricing/ROI information can be slow to come to us after we express interest in a new feature that may have an associated cost. However, we feel that Samsara is fair when negotiating pricing.

The other day, I was trying to map out fuel stations near one of my company’s geofence locations—specifically stations that work with our fuel card provider, Comdata. I’m not sure whether a dashboard was removed or replaced with something else, but I could have sworn there used to be a way to type in a location and see which nearby gas stations were available. It was helpful for mapping out where our employees could go to get cheaper fuel. I also asked Samsara’s AI about it, and it told me that wasn’t a function.

Additionally, we stopped installing our trailer devices because of the power supply issue. Keeping them from dying became too big of a task, and I’m not sure whether there’s already a solution for this. Either way, it leaves a noticeable gap in our data.

Samsara really does all the heavy lifting for me. I don’t have to second-guess where my assets are, who is driving them, or whether there are issues with an asset that haven’t been reported by our employees. Just having Samsara installed helps protect our company—we’ve had several assets involved in accidents that we would’ve been blamed for if not for this platform. On top of that, it’s genuinely simple to retrieve the videos and submit them to whoever needs to see them. Another major benefit for my company is tracking IFTA mileage for our quarterly filings; finance truly loves that feature. Not only can our employees be tracked in real time, but this program also allows us to look back at previous dates.
This is helpful in determining previous trips and schedules as well as being able to look back at certain incidents. 
The safety features implemented in the program are wonderful and help our team address drivers who make mistakes and work on correcting them in the future; this can also be tracked over time to monitor improvements!
This program has helped us keep track of routine maintenance that needs to be completed on vehicles like clockwork making it effortless to schedule any oil changes or tire rotations needed to keep everything in compliance and our employees safe.

I like Samsara's ease of use and the great interface, with little to no problems with its software. I find the fault code feature very helpful as it shows the fault code when a vehicle gets a check engine light and provides more info to give to the mechanic shop, helping to avoid downtime by addressing problems right away. The initial setup was easy, fast, and pain-free.

The only thing I would like added is a find nearby feature. If I have a tech needing to know if someone is nearby him, it would be nice to press one button to get 3+ vehicles that are in his area.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

Samsara is really useful for industries like ours—trucking and logistics. With Samsara, we can check our trucks’ and trailers’ locations in real time and use that to help navigate and manage them. The safety features are also really good: we can monitor drivers and see whether they are following the rules or not. The fuel graph is useful as well, since it helps us keep an eye on fuel usage and check for possible fuel theft.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

For big fleet owners, it’s really good and affordable—around $15 per truck and about $33–35 for the physical device. However, it feels quite expensive for small fleet owners.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I use Samsara about five times a week to monitor trucks delivering building materials to job sites. In the Assets section under Overview, I can quickly check fuel levels in our trucks and review route history. With live GPS, I’m also able to help my drivers when they’re trying to find job sites. We also use the Documents section to upload jobsite photos of our material drops, which has saved us in situations where materials were stolen after we delivered them.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

I only use a limited set of resources in Samsara, and with what I use, there isn’t really anything I dislike. One feature I wish it had—or maybe it already does and I just don’t know about it—is traffic. I’d like to be able to see near real-time traffic so I can better support my drivers, especially when there are accidents along their routes.

I can see live GPS readings for my trucks, which lets me monitor them and locate them when needed. I can also upload photos of job sites, which helps us address any discrepancies contractors may have with their order and provide any additional information they might need based on the photos.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I really appreciate how easy it is to access and use. The live feed it provides is amazing, especially for communicating with our customers. The pricing feels fair, and the ROI has definitely been worth it—there’s nothing better than being able to pinpoint a delivery. Even our older drivers can use it without issues. I’m also a huge advocate of AI (I’m constantly using Claude 24/7), so I like the AI approach as well. Overall, it’s very simple and user-friendly, and the customer support is excellent. I reached out once a couple of months back, and they had everything fixed for me within an hour or two. I have not fully dove into the integration as I feel the browser version is more than enough for what we use it for but if I ever implement into a full stack with Claude and a CRM It would be nice.

I haven’t run into too many problems myself, but I know some of the drivers do complain about the occasional false positives.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

Samsara allows us to have visibility for our fleet throughout the day as well as weather in the area, and advanced safety and performance metrics for our drivers.  The integration features with our equipment providers helps streamline our maintenance program and keep equipment up to date and compliant.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

We have found that some of the AI safety alerts are incorrect and the AI is not able to compensate or correctly detect action items if there are glasses on the driver's face or if the driver is taking a drink.  We also run into the system over alerting "drowsiness" if the driver adjusts for a more comfortable position in his seat.

The camera has helped identify safety concerns and opportunities that we had not previously been aware of.  We have also been able to streamline communications and route planning with the fleet leading to increased efficiency for both the driver's schedule and customer needs.

I like the alerts that are sent to my email if there is an event.  It comes quickly and we are able to review and respond with the employee and help coach them.

There are a lot of functions with the software that we do not know how to use.  We find out more all the time, but it can be overwhelming at times if you arent tech savvy.  The features that it has are great though, just finding them sometimes takes us a while.

It really helps us with customers.  We are in a service business delivering a product to our customers.  Although our drivers call the customer to tell them they are on the way, sometimes they run into traffic or construction and don't have access to their phone immediately as they are driving large tractor trailers.  The customers then call the office to ask for an eta and we can see where the driver is and look at the camera and see if they are stuck in traffic or sitting somewhere.  It is very helpful in that situation.

It’s really easy for me to track our drivers in real time. Most importantly, the system sends us immediate notifications whenever one of our rigs is involved in an accident. The video recordings are also extremely helpful when we need to investigate an incident and determine what happened.

I use Samsara for controlling my vehicles. I appreciate the actual location tracking feature, which is pretty cool. Knowing immediately what time the vehicle is in one place is practical. The fuel management is not a problem because of the idling tracking. One of the biggest highlights of Samsara is the reports. I think the platform itself is pretty cool, easy to share, easy to show, and easy to handle. Also, sometimes we need to pull out information quickly, and handling that with Samsara is pretty cool. We can efficiently match up the information from reports.

I believe that sometimes the problems from the system can occur, which affects the requests.

I like the Visibility that we have on the whereabouts of our fleet, the current mileage, fault codes, and other things that we can now see.  If we are working on updating registrations yearly, we can get the current mileage.  If an accident happens, we can find the video footage to help validate who is at fault.  The Coaching part of it is great too as it can come across more as the program coaching instead of Big Brother or the Manager.

The only thing that I wish would be included is a spot to save pdf's per Asset.

I like that we can view the camera in real-time and take photos, which helps us feel inside their space. This allows me to see what the driver sees and thus optimize their day as best as possible. We do not consider switching to another service because the service they provide is excellent. I don't like that there is a one-minute delay in the broadcast and that I can only watch 5 minutes for free of each camera asset. **What do you like best about Samsara?**

The practical side of it. I don't need another complicated system demanding attention from the team. Once the relevant information is there, it is relatively straightforward to use when something needs checking.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

We haven't needed every part of the platform. With a specialist business like ours, there is a tendency to evaluate software against very specific requirements, so some of the broader functionality isn't particularly relevant to our day-to-day work.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As the business has expanded, keeping the commercial side coordinated across different activities has become more important. Samsara gives us a central system for the parts of the operation that involve people and vehicles, which helps remove some of the small logistical distractions from the wider business-development work. It's not something that replaces our commercial process, but it helps support it.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

The best thing I like about samsara is that, even for a small fleet, it is very good for vehicle tracking and ELD logbook management. The API integrations work well, and the AI features are easy to use. Even a beginner can use the system and pull out the required data easily. Overall, it has very good performance and is user friendly

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

It is too expensive for small companies, and the pricing is not very customer-friendly.Support team does not provide help on time.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Samsara helps us manage vehicle tracking, ELD logs, and compliance in one system. It also makes it easy to access data and use API integrations with other systems. This saves our team time, makes tracking easier

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I love being able to see where a tractor or trailer is at any time, and I really enjoy being able to see out the front windshield to see what the driver is seeing in real time. This is especially useful when a driver calls and states they will be late due to weather, as I can verify that immediately and share it with customers.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

Routes and the integration with McLeod don't work as well, and specifically, start and stop times do not flow over properly, which sometimes makes stop-off locations out of order.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Samsara helps with routing, real-time location, and safety. I love being able to see where a tractor or trailer is anytime and view through the windshield in real time, letting me confirm drivers' claims about weather delays and share that with customers.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

Samsara is such amazing software all around! The GPS software has helped me hold our field guys accountable for inaccurate time punching, resulting in more accurate payroll for the company, as well as honest billing for our clients! This software has made dispatching a much smoother process and has helped improve our employees' driving while in our company vehicles. I have nicknamed Samsara the "Accountability Superhero" for our company!

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

At this time, Samsara meets all my needs, as the software is evolving regularly with updates and upgrades.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time management and billing discrepancies between our customers and employees. Samsara helps us determine if our employees are arriving on time to their scheduled appointments. Samsara also helps confirm accuracy of employee time punches and has saved us money on payroll.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

Best use of samsara to track the drivers safety and compliance as well there camera monitoring we can check if they are good or feeling drowsiness etc, Samsara ELD with live tracking of assets so we can see everything on a single dashboard. Dispatching drivers for load pickup and delivery and to provide the ETA for customers.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

On peek working hours sometime dashboard work slow. Also while we are using maintenance features also hard to train mechanics so many features also the customisation of role. We would like to use only for some users but when we are enabling the feature any one can use.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Live tracking of assets and sending detention email to customers for holding our assets for extra time.sending reports and dispatching of assets and providing eta to customers. Lease requirement of workforce no need to call drivers every time to ask eta its helping us to not to call drivers every time.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

samsara is best app right now for real time asset tracking, i can track my fuel consumptions, keep eye on drivers for their safety which increase safety score. it also keep a track of fuel refuelling and miles per gallons used. which help while making reports and dashboards so much. also we can swtich and add new driver easily and also change their trucks when ever we want.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

the only thing i dislike about samsara is its lagging issue which irritates alot. when ever i am in hurry or needs to track something in emergency it lag. and also sometime it delays real time locations. which i can ignore. but lagging is so furstating. which clearly impacts performances.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

samsara is solving basic problems which we facing while tracking, it helps in real time locations of assets, real time survillence of driver which imprives safety, real time fuel consumptoins which helps in calcualting ROI. overall Samsara is wonderful GPS applications.

**What do you like best about Samsara?**

I like the Samsara user interface because it's fairly intuitive and offers a lot of capabilities for the drivers on the tablets in the trucks, enabling effective communication. Samsara does a very good job of ensuring timely communication with our drivers, dispatching loads effectively, and making sure our business runs successfully. The navigation feature is nice, and the key functionality we really utilize is the messaging back and forth to the drivers.

**What do you dislike about Samsara?**

Sometimes there are network issues with Samsara, and it can be problematic from time to time. I realize this involves various networks and it's not necessarily Samsara's fault, but being cloud-based makes us depend on whoever is carrying the data. Occasionally, outages can occur that cause issues.

**What problems is Samsara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Samsara to communicate with drivers, dispatch loads, and track safety. It helps manage our fleet, ensuring timely and successful deliveries.
