The system is missing a lot of options, such as automatic notifications for drivers in the far-left lane and notifications for heavy speeding. The speeding data is available, but you have to dig through the data and search for each speeding event manually instead of having it automated. There are also a lot of false violations, and speed detection can be incorrect because Samsara has the wrong speeds recorded in their system.
Overall, the system doesn’t feel designed to be customized to fit specific client needs; it seems more like a one-size-fits-all setup. Our safety team gets involved with driver violations at different levels, and the review department is the very first step in our process because of how many false violations we see. Once a violation event is touched by anyone, that person is automatically assigned as a coach to the driver for the remainder of their employment, and that default behavior makes it difficult to manage violations appropriately.
Another limitation is the inability to create your own violations when you notice something on the camera that Samsara missed.
Account managers are completely absent from trying to help with any issue. The account manager and his manager (in our case) are both ignoring any of our attempts to reach out for help.
System cannot be integrated with 10Street to keep record of all coaching and training sessions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
