What do you dislike about Descartes MacroPoint? Well, maybe the main challenge is sending the MP to the drivers and then having to trust service providers to comply with the tracking requirements. If they don’t, you still end up relying on manual monitoring, which means you’re only partially meeting the goal. That’s what I dislike about this. The visibility the platform and control tower provide is great. Digging further into the fraud checks and the tracking history for each carrier is an added bonus. The integration with TMS platforms also delivers very good performance, without having to be in the control tower when it isn’t needed. The support we receive is prompt, and we’re always offered the chance to connect in a meeting to review anything we have questions about. From what I can see, the ROI is worth the price. What do you dislike about Descartes MacroPoint? Geofence events can occasionally trigger incorrect arrival/departure times if a driver is passing by or next to the facility at another location. I like the level of visibility and detail Descartes MacroPoint provides throughout the tracking process. The Control Towers is intuitive and easy to navigate, allowing us to quickly access load information, tracking events, and shipment status updates without having to reach through multiple screens. I also appreciate the detailed tracking available for each update, including visibility into the source of location pings and tracking identifiers. What I like most about Descartes MacroPoint is that we can integrate it with AI. I dislike when macropoint keep tracking the driver after the shipment was complete due to if we have last destination integrated to the macropoint system it should detect as compete when the times are put on it , so on that way we can avoid any delay / deviation alert on our worflow . I typically use Descartes MacroPoint to track all the loads assigned to me. I find it valuable that I can create new sessions when a load has expired or is completed because this prevents issues when a load reaches its end. It automatically stops when a load finishes the lane, and I'm able to create a new session in case the truck is still heading to the destination. The integration with Arrive Now is also handy because loads that appear in Arrive Now show automatically on Descartes MacroPoint. I love being able to see the whole map and get specific coordinates for where something is located with Descartes MacroPoint. It really helps to keep things positive throughout each day, and honestly, I find it amazing. I also value how easy the initial setup was; I just had to set up my email and a password, and that was it. Descartes MacroPoint is something that I really value, and it's really helpful. I’ve been using Descartes Carrier Portal regularly to manage freight documentation, track shipment updates, and handle carrier communication. The feature I rely on most is the centralized portal, which lets me view shipment details, invoices, proof of delivery (POD), and payment status all in one place, rather than having to dig through multiple emails or separate systems. The newer Control Tower 2.0 interface is much more user-friendly, organized, and efficient than previous versions. The updated layout makes it easier to monitor loads, navigate between tracking details, and manage day-to-day visibility operations smoothly. I like that Descartes MacroPoint is already adopted by the majority of drivers on the road, making it much easier for us to get a driver to track. We also appreciate the improved visibility it provides, letting us know where our drivers are when delivering for customers. I am generally happy with the product, but it would be nice if there was a feature for drivers to upload receipts, PODs, etc. Additionally, I wish there were more ELD drivers on it and think more syncs would be helpful for us.
