**What do you like best about Deputy?**

I like how simple the interface is for not only the admin / managers but also for the users, the employees. Not only are the employees able to put their time-off requests in Deputy, but they're also able to view their weekly timecards as well.

**What do you dislike about Deputy?**

Given the amount of employees that we have nationwide, it would've been great if the system was able to recognize the different states that the employees were in and that we would be able to assign managers per employees rather than create locations. We have over 20 locations in our system because we have managers that oversee different timezones, one that has every timezone, so he has multiple locations that he has to view. Because the Gusto integration seem to have issues though, we have to manually set-up accounts which is preferred as previously, it would automatically send invitations to personal emails that were in Gusto even when they haven't fully started. The downside also is that employees aren't able to see their time-off request balance and so they often put in requests when they have 0 hours pending for usage.

**What problems is Deputy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The issue that we had previously was the fact that Gusto wasn't able to provide us with a timekeeping system that supported overnight shift. Deputy had played a huge part in decreasing the amount of time that is spent calculating the hours that each employee who work overnight has. I also really like how the Meal Break Premium is directly connected to the attestation question. I will say that, I wished that it would also track when the lunch was taken to ensure that even if someone answers 'yes' to the attestation question, it's guaranteed that we're remaining compliant with the state laws when applicable (most importantly CA and NY)

**What do you like best about Deputy?**

I use Deputy to see my upcoming shifts, monitor my pay, and check my timesheets. I appreciate the accessibility because I can view my work-related information whenever and wherever I like. I like that I can be signed up to many businesses and employers in the one app. The layout is very clear! I am employed by multiple businesses and Deputy allows me to seamlessly view upcoming shifts and work-related information without having multiple apps downloaded. The app layout is clear and easy to navigate with no issues. The initial setup was seamless. My boss sent me a link and I created the account by entering my details and then signed my contract. I love that everything is in the one place.

**What do you dislike about Deputy?**

Maybe when signing in and out of a shift to have a function from the iPhone Lock Screen instead of opening the app.

**What problems is Deputy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Deputy to see my shifts, monitor pay, and check timesheets. It offers accessibility, letting me view work info anywhere. Being able to be signed up to many businesses in one app simplifies my workflow, and the clear layout is easy to navigate.

**What do you like best about Deputy?**

It’s easy for everyone to use, whether you’re a manager, a casual worker, or a full-time user. You can quickly assign shifts, swap shifts, and adjust timesheets without any hassle. Overall, it makes anything related to time and shift management a total breeze.

**What do you dislike about Deputy?**

I honestly can’t think of anything to complain about. I’ve never had any issues with Deputy across multiple businesses, and I’ve never even needed to contact support.

**What problems is Deputy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a retail manager overseeing multiple teams of people at different life stages, Deputy significantly reduces the mental and physical workload involved in assigning shifts. For example, when I’m building the roster, I can immediately see when someone has blocked out time and whether they’re available. The best part is that if someone can’t work a shift anymore, they can put it up on the platform and someone else can claim it. That saves employees from having to message me, and it saves me from then having to work out who to swap the shift with.

I find Deputy pretty simple and straightforward to set up, which made my initial experience quite hassle-free. I appreciate that all they required was basic information like my email and password setup, which allowed me to access it via my mobile device conveniently, making it much easier to manage my shifts on the go without needing to log in from a laptop. Additionally, I think Deputy's functionality of ensuring that I'm within the building when clocking in and out is beneficial. I also find the review feature particularly helpful, as it allows me to share my feelings after a shift, providing managers with valuable insights into the team's morale and workload. Overall, I've found it quite easy to use with minimal issues, which enhances its efficiency in fulfilling its role for my needs.

I dislike the issue with forgetting to clock out after my shift when far away from the building , which forces me to ask a colleague to log in during their night shift to correct it.

Deputy has provided an outstanding experience from day one. The interface is clean, intuitive, and extremely easy to learn, which made the transition seamless. I love having access to scheduling, shift swaps, timesheets, availability, and messaging all in one convenient place. Being able to manage everything from my phone — no matter where I am — has made the entire process faster and far more efficient.

**What do you like best about Deputy?**

Working at Tecovas

One of the things I appreciate most about Deputy is its simplicity. The platform is extremely intuitive, making it easy to navigate schedules, tasks, and updates without any confusion or wasted time.

I also value the regular updates and notifications, which keep me informed about any schedule changes, shift updates, or new assignments in real time. It’s reassuring to know I’m always up to date.

The organization of calendars and assigned staff is another standout feature. Everything is clearly laid out, who’s working, what shifts are covered, and what tasks are assigned, so there’s no guesswork. It keeps everyone on the same page and ensures smooth team coordination.

I love how task management is integrated directly into the platform. Whether it’s a shift-specific task or an ongoing responsibility, I can easily track what’s been completed and what still needs attention.

The time-off feature is incredibly simple to use. Requesting, viewing, and confirming time off is quick and seamless—something that saves a lot of hassle and back-and-forth communication - which is AMAZING!

Having used Dayforce for another job, there’s really no comparison in terms of ease and accessibility. Deputy is far more user-friendly, organized, and efficient.

Truly, hands down, Deputy is the preferred system, and I would highly recommend it to any team or organization.

**What do you dislike about Deputy?**

No direct integration with payroll or HR systems, since Deputy doesn’t sync with Paycom, it requires extra steps to make sure hours and pay align — not a dealbreaker, just one added layer of work.  To further explain my dislike of the dual-system inconvenience, it can be a little frustrating having to use both Paycom and Deputy since the two systems don’t sync. It would be ideal if time, scheduling, and payroll were all integrated in one place.

Deputy helps solve several scheduling and communication challenges by keeping everything in one organized, easy-to-access platform. It supports mobile phone application which helps employees self-service hence maintains a great workflow as they can access the tool on the go for scheduling and other services.

This tool is cloud based hence highly depends on sufficient internet which causes downtime in remote area where network is not sufficient.

I really like Deputy for work purposes. It's very simple to use and user-friendly, which makes it easy to keep track of my timesheets, clock in and clock out, and approve my staff's rosters, leave, and timesheets. The simple but elegant interface and ease of access are definitely strong points. I use the clock in and clock out feature the most, and the initial setup was very easy for me.

I would like to see a feature that allows me to add my hourly rate so I can track how much I earn per shift, both before and after tax. It would be useful to have a total figure to see if I exceed the government tax threshold.

I really appreciate how Deputy organizes my work schedule. It allows me to easily view when I’m scheduled to work and who I’ll be working with, without the need to constantly check in with others, which is a major time-saver. I also like the app's user-friendly format and the ability to share my schedule with others seamlessly. Having all my shifts consolidated in one place is incredibly convenient, as is the capability to quickly see how long I have until my next shift. The initial setup of Deputy was straightforward and hassle-free. During onboarding, I just received a link, created an account, and was all set up; it was a very smooth process. Overall, Deputy makes managing my work schedule intuitive and efficient.

Sometimes when I try to send my shifts it glitches and I can’t click all of them at once, and maybe if it had choices to change the background color

I find Deputy incredibly useful for my work as it simplifies accessing my shifts and checking timesheets, making these tasks seamless and efficient. What I really appreciate is the ability to see all my shifts as well as everyone at the stand with just a click of a button, which makes workforce management much more efficient. The feature that shows my tips adds an extra layer of transparency that I find really cool. Additionally, knowing who is currently clocked in is a feature I like because it enhances team coordination and accountability. Furthermore, the initial setup of Deputy was very straightforward and user-friendly. They sent me a code to log in, and after creating an email and password, I was all set to start using the software without any hassle.

Sometimes it shows as absent even though you clocked in.

If I had to choose one standout feature, it would be how Deputy combines mobile accessibility, scheduling, and payroll/time tracking in a single platform. Employees can swap shifts, check schedules, and clock in or out, while managers can forecast labor needs, manage costs, and approve timesheets, all without relying on multiple systems. That all-in-one efficiency is what makes it so powerful, in my opinion.

If you have staff working somewhere with unstable internet like remote locations, offsite, then the offline limitations could be a constraint.

I find Deputy incredibly beneficial for managing my work schedule. It provides a clear and organized layout of my working days and manages my time efficiently by showing exactly when I start and end shifts. This feature helps me with time management, ensuring I never miss the start or end of my shift, and allows for proper planning of my activities. I also appreciate how easy it was to set up Deputy initially; the steps were straightforward, quick, and didn't take much time, making the transition seamless. Furthermore, I appreciate how Deputy lines up all the days I have worked per week because it's very easy to see and understand my weekly workload at a glance. This detailed scheduling makes the application valuable for ensuring that I stay on top of my work commitments, and it's one of the primary reasons I would consider purchasing it again. Overall, it's a very good tool, deserving of a recommendation rating close to the top of the scale.

I find the current schedule view limiting as it only allows me to see one week at a time, which restricts my ability to effectively plan for two weeks. I would prefer to have the capability to view a two-week schedule to better manage my time and resources.

Scheduling and making adjustments can also be difficult, requiring support from the company at times. Additionally, if I enter my available work locations for every week, it is difficult to remove them later.
