Convenient Toll Tracking, But Confusing Transaction Details and Slow Email. The transponder is mounted inside the cab and automatically records our toll road trips. We get a small discount on tolls, and I like that there is no paper documentation. Everything can be checked in the online account, including the date, time, and section of the road. **What do you dislike about PrePass?** What I dislike most is how toll road information is displayed in the online account. The tolls are listed mainly by the toll road provider, which often doesn't tell me where the road or a specific toll segment is located. I have to search Google for the provider, figure out what roads they operate, and then determine which section we actually traveled and how much that specific section costs. This is very time-consuming and inconvenient. It would be much better if PrePass provided a map link next to each transaction showing the exact road and toll segment, along with the provider, date, time, and other transaction details. I also have a serious issue with their email support. In my experience, responses can take 2–3 weeks. For example, we were charged about $220 for a roughly 9-mile toll segment near Washington, D.C. I contacted support to ask why the charge was so high and what vehicle category we had been placed in. After waiting about two weeks, I was told that the vehicle category was correct and that the toll amount was not something they could dispute. I then asked for evidence showing that our vehicle had actually traveled through that toll segment. After waiting approximately another two weeks, I was told that the toll provider only keeps the relevant records for 30 days and that the records were no longer available. Because of the long response times, by the time my request was addressed, I could no longer obtain the evidence I was asking for. Based on this experience, I would recommend checking invoices immediately after receiving them and calling right away if something looks wrong. In my experience, the written support option is not practical for time-sensitive billing issues because the response time can exceed the period during which supporting records are available. **What problems is PrePass solving and how is that benefiting you?** We travel through many states and use toll roads operated by different providers, so having one transponder and one account is much more convenient than dealing with separate toll bills. The toll rates are also lower when using PrePass than they would be without it. ### 2. It offers additional safety, weather, and traffic warnings with the mobile application that the drivers appreciate as well. **What do you dislike about PrePass?** My only real complaint is the transponder batteries give no notice before going dead leaving the transponders not working. **What problems is PrePass solving and how is that benefiting you?** Since the integration with Samsara the drivers are able to just use their Samsara app to receive the alerts, their bypass information, and all additional tools in one place. They're very reliable and always there for me whenever I have an issue or need to change my equipment or license plate numbers. I just give them a call, and they help me out. Overall, it’s a solution that simplifies life for both our drivers and our operations team. **What do you dislike about PrePass?** What I like least about PrePass is mostly minor. Occasionally, resolving toll disputes can take longer than expected, depending on the toll authority involved. This can be frustrating when we need to close out billing cycles promptly. On the driver side, there can be a bit of a learning curve—making sure drivers know how to make the most of bypass opportunities and trust the system requires some extra communication. While neither of these issues is a deal-breaker, they are areas where improvements could make an already strong solution even better. **What problems is PrePass solving and how is that benefiting you?** 1. Time and fuel wasted at weigh stations. With over 14,000 bypasses in the past year, our trucks stay on the road, saving us fuel, keeping schedules reliable, and cutting down on driver frustration. 2. Managing tolls across multiple states and authorities. Before PrePass, we dealt with scattered invoices, errors, and little visibility. Now we have consolidated billing and clearer data, which saves us both time and money. 3. Safety and compliance visibility. PrePass provides insights into inspections and safety trends, allowing us to be proactive with our CSA scores and support our drivers better.
