There are so many cons to Lytx, I don't know where to start.

Everything seems good when they are selling you their product/service. Once you sign the contract is where the trouble begins. It seems then you are passed around to different departments and employees with the "that's not my job" attitude. If you have a question, the employee that sold you the product/services, tells you he can't help you and send you to someone else. That person will tell you the same.

If you choose to self install, I hope you have a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering. The instructions they provide are worthless, and good luck with calling customer/technical service. They have no idea on how to install these units. I believe they are reading off a script and if your question isn't on there, GOOD LUCK! Same for just regular questions regarding stuff on Lytx's dashboard. I once emailed them with a question and they said it would be 1 to 2 weeks before they would get back with me! The system has evolved over time and uses AI to improve performance. This is a great tool for on-road vehicles. The coaching dashboard and process for coaches to receive notifications and use the system is VERY easy to use and a critical component of the platform. The dashboards are easy to use and navigate which is another plus. Lytx has helped us reduce insurance claims and costs over a 10+ year period and we have saved millions of dollars over that period. While we like the use of AI, we've had continual issues with it struggling to see seatbelts at night or with reflective gear on. We have a fleet of over 400 drivers and they don't always drive the same truck. Having to manually assign and reassign drivers takes a lot of admin work on a daily basis. Lytx provides excellent insight on our driving behaviors. We take the good and the bad of our behaviors and provide detailed reports to our management team. The best part was the DriveCam event footage and how it automatically captured risky moments. It made coaching easier and gave us confidence when reviewing incidents. Lytx is great because it provides easy access to the drive camera videos and also provides an explanation of the potential safety hazards or violations that caused the event.
