"Excellent tool to use and fantastic support"
What do you like best about DataGrail?

DataGrail has proven to be a valuable asset for our team, providing a welcome change after moving away from our previous privacy tool. We are looking forward to building out our data map within the tool, streamlining our processes and automating specific workflows.

The support team has been outstanding, working closely with us to answer our questions and make sure we fully understand each step of the implementation. Many teams across our organization are eager to use this tool for their own projects, and its intuitive navigation makes it easy for everyone to quickly find the information they need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DataGrail?

As we are validating the information DataGrail is surfacing, it would be great to have more flexibility to customize specific labels. The ability to customize certain features within the tool would be extremely valuable for our team's unique use cases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Very easy to use, once past the initial integration"
What do you like best about DataGrail?

The consent management system is highly automated and simple to personalize. I found it straightforward to modify the default messaging to align with our legal team's requirements. One feature I appreciated was the ability to preview changes behind a test flag, ensuring updates aren't immediately visible to all users. Additionally, their support team has been very responsive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DataGrail?

The consent management feature is still quite new, and we experienced some initial growing pains. Some pages were broken, which may have been caused by bad data or possibly by some front-end code that DataGrail was running. On the positive side, they managed to resolve these issues fairly quickly. However, since we didn't have anything live in production at the time, there wasn't as much urgency for us. Response from Ian Phippen of DataGrail

Hi Ryan, thank you so much for taking the time to review!

I'm glad to hear you found our resolutions expedient and the personalization experience straightforward. I'm sorry to hear about the pain points in your launch - Consent went through some big changes this year, and I understand that you ran into a brief incident with the permissions page. While we acted quickly, the last thing we want is to make anyone feel stalled. I will raise this with the team to dig in on how even momentary issues can impact the customer experience. Thanks again for raising this, and I know we'll improve for the future!

"Streamlined Privacy Requests with Excellent Support"
What do you like best about DataGrail?

I love that DataGrail significantly limits the manual work for my team by automating privacy request functions, which helps keep our customers updated. The platform is exceptionally easy to use. I also appreciate the clear integration instructions, which have made the setup process smooth as we add more tools. The responsive support team is fantastic, always ready to help and explore options when challenges arise. Overall, these features and support encourage me to highly recommend DataGrail to others. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DataGrail?

I had trouble with an easier way to integrate one of our payment types with DataGrail. Despite the great support team's efforts and exploring options with us and the processor, we were unable to automate the addition of the payment system. There were limited options available to resolve this issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Centralized Consent Management Made Effortless with Outstanding Support"
What do you like best about DataGrail?

What I value most is how DataGrail brings order to a very fragmented tag, script, and cookie consent ecosystem. It centralizes everything, applies consistent categorization, and enforces consent logic automatically, which takes a lot of manual oversight off our plate. It also makes it easier to stay ahead of changes since we get visibility into new tags, version changes, and downstream impacts before they create compliance headaches. Overall it simplifies a messy space and gives us a predictable governance model end to end. That, and their Customer Support team is top notch and super responsive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DataGrail?

One opportunity is adding a clearer view of what data elements each cookie or tag is collecting and using. A filter or indicator tied directly to the script would eliminate guesswork and give us immediate insight into the data flow. That type of visibility would make the platform a true one stop shop for cookie governance and reduce the need to cross reference other tools or run manual validation. "Excellent Customer Service, Intuitive Consent Platform, Highly Recommended"
What do you like best about DataGrail?

DataGrail's customer support team is responsive, helpful, and willing to dig in to implementations during onboarding. I never felt like I was asking too many questions during implementation, and DG is even willing to set us up with calls with engineers on their team. This level of hands on is second to none, especially since they involved no additional consulting feeds. Besides that, the consent product itself is relatively intuitive to navigate and covers the main requirements we need in order to be compliant with US and global privacy regulations on consent. Overall, highly recommended! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DataGrail?

As a maturing consent product, DataGrail was initially missing some features that we had expected like the US privacy string or customized banners for different sites rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. Besides that, consent took a bit more time and involved more engineering than initially expected (i.e. engs across the board shared feedback that we'd like to customize the banners in platform rather than via CSS). However, I'd also note that DG's product team is very fast at delivering and were able to get all of our "must have" features out in time for our launch. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Smooth Onboarding and Excellent Support from DataGrail"
What do you like best about DataGrail?

Our onboarding experience with DataGrail has been excellent. Everything that was promised during the sales process has been delivered so far. A special shoutout to our onboarding engineer, Liz Simmons—she’s incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and truly invested in our success.

DataGrail takes on a lot of the heavy lifting during the integration, which has helped streamline the process and reduce the burden on our internal team. We're off to a strong start and are excited to continue working with their team.

Pros:

Seamless onboarding

Proactive and knowledgeable support

Handles much of the setup work internally

Ease of Use

Cons:

None so far Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DataGrail?

We’re still in the process of fully integrating with DataGrail, but so far the experience has been great. We just launched cookie consent management, and everything has gone smoothly — no complaints at all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fantastic support and documentation"
What do you like best about DataGrail?

The onboarding process has been awesome really smooth and super supportive. What stood out most is how well they understand the effort it takes on our end to get everything up and running, which is huge for us as a nonprofit with limited resources. I’ve been talking with DataGrail for a while now, and it’s never felt like a sales pitch. They’ve consistently taken the time to understand our privacy needs and have come across as a true partner, not just a vendor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DataGrail?

So far, we’ve rolled out Consent Management and are currently working on Subject Access Requests and Data Mapping. Consent management went very smoothly, and any hiccups where quickly addressed by Data Grail. The only concern I’ve had is making sure all our connectors align properly. Even if they don’t, DataGrail has been great about committing to getting everything up and running, even if it means looping in their support team.

Once we’re fully implemented, I’ll come back and update this section for a complete and honest review. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Replacing Manual DSAR Processing"
What do you like best about DataGrail?

DataGrail has allowed us to replace our home-grown DSAR management with a best-in-class system to manage DSARs. It allows us to connect to a variety of systems where data might live, and scan them. Previously, we had to have administrators comb through these systems individually, so DataGrail has removed a lot of manual work. DataGrail has an excellent customer support team which is able to answer our questions when they arise. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DataGrail?

Just like any software, there are some product limitations that we have had to work through, but overall DataGrail is a benefit to our business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless Transition and Effortless Management with DataGrail"
What do you like best about DataGrail?

Previously, we used OneTrust for our consent banner, but it often created problems with data tracking, such as blocking cookies that were not supposed to be blocked. Since switching to DataGrail, the transition has been seamless. Other than occasionally reviewing the recommended cookie rules, we've had to do very little ongoing management since setting up DataGrail. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DataGrail?

From a developer's perspective, I really can't point out any negatives. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
