They have integrations to ensure we can connect any part of our tech stack to their platform with a high level of performance, ensuring business continuity. Their automation features have provided quick ROI on tasks that were previously very manual and costly from a labor perspective. Their support team has been hand-in-hand with us when exploring and rolling out new features and unlocking new functionality. **What do you dislike about ShipStation?** I don't dislike anything. Anything left on the table is something that ShipStation is likely already developing or will work with us to ensure is on their roadmap. **What problems is ShipStation solving and how is that benefiting you?** ShipStation allows us to keep a lean team, while also process a high volume of shipments on a daily basis, keeping SG&A costs low while meeting customer demand. ### 2. It's very intuitive, which is great because I am not particularly well-versed in shipping processes or technology. ShipStation has really increased my knowledge about efficient mailing and shipping. I also appreciate how they are committed to constant upgrades and improvements, which shows they're dedicated to making their product and services better. They're also good at educating their clients on how to use ShipStation effectively, which I find valuable. Plus, the platform has really simplified my mailing process, saving me both time and money. **What do you dislike about ShipStation?** There were a couple times through different upgrades and interfaces where I thought the navigation might have used an improvement, but it seems more intuitive now. **What problems is ShipStation solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use ShipStation to manage mailings for my eBay, Poshmark, and Vintage stores. It helps me find the best shipping rates in terms of speed, efficiency, and cost. ShipStation simplifies my mailing process, saving me money and time with its easy tools. ### 3. I would say I mentioned multiple shipping rates, which is cool. And then also being able to connect multiple sources like via webhook, via API, via Shopify, via Amazon is cool for handling multiple locations. **What do you dislike about ShipStation?** ShipStation has a terrible customer service experience. I'm trying to connect to the ShipStation API, and the online documentation is terrible. I called the phone number listed in my account to get in touch with customer service and sat on hold for twenty minutes. It took the representative three minutes to figure out who I am, despite being a customer for over ten years. After being on the phone for twenty-three minutes, she said she can't help with the API and I need to write an email to someone else. Even though I shared all of the information about the problem, she refused to initiate this conversation. There's also confusion with their API structure; ShipStation has three different APIs, and it's unclear which one to use. There's a lot of ambiguity and it's a really annoying, bad experience. **What problems is ShipStation solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use ShipStation to create shipping labels and connect multiple shipping carriers to compare costs. I like the ability to connect via webhook, API, Shopify, and Amazon for multiple locations. ### 4. I appreciate the discounts I receive, as they allow me to expand my business by saving on shipping costs. This saving lets me invest back into my business, increase inventory, and offer new items or extras to maintain my customer base. The setup process was straightforward too—I just went online, filled out the information, and started shipping. **What do you dislike about ShipStation?** When I first started ShipStation, it wasn't clear who the discounts were available for, as in which vendors. But now it seems to be easier. By and large, just more discounts on all vendors. The more we save, the more we ship. **What problems is ShipStation solving and how is that benefiting you?** ShipStation simplifies label printing and saves me time with easy envelope shipping. It also provides discounts that help expand my business by saving on shipping costs, allowing me to invest more in inventory and offer new items. ### 5. The user interface is very friendly, allowing me to compare prices across different shipments with ease. It was easy to navigate and toggle between features, and I got familiarized with the system quickly, within just 10-15 minutes. **What do you dislike about ShipStation?** I don't like their policy around having to load monies in the account rather than just paying for each shipment directly. For just sending one-off shipment, I was not able to charge it directly to my card, but had to load money on my ShipStation account. Now I have a carry-over balance that is of no use to me. It also was not easy to get an invoice for that specific shipment. **What problems is ShipStation solving and how is that benefiting you?** ShipStation offers many carriers, making shipping easier. Its friendly UI and easy price comparisons save time and help with managing shipments effectively. ### 6. Implemented ShipStation within 1 week to create effective pick, pack & ship with inventory management and barcode scanning. **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Goldberg, M. | Founder and Owner **Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2026 **What do you like best about ShipStation?** ShipStation has helped me to quickly automate the process of transmitting orders from my website to my 3PL warehouse, who's then able to pick and ship products efficiently and accurately using a barcode scanner. ShipStation's negotiated rates with the US Postal Service and UPS are competitive, probably better than I could have gotten myself. Their system also includes an inventory management system with some reporting capability. **What do you dislike about ShipStation?** Would be great if they could add negotiated Fedex rates. They have existing integrations / APIs for most website platforms, including for Opencart. Unfortunately, the integration for Opencart is out of date, and connects only to their shipping platform, it does not connect to their inventory management platform. I had to hire a developer to update their integration to make it work, as well as to write a separate integration to connect my website to their inventory management system. Their inventory reporting system appears to be missing tracking / storing daily inventory values, e.g. daily snapshot, which would be of great help for getting inventory on first and last day of the fiscal year for tax purposes. **What problems is ShipStation solving and how is that benefiting you?** I was using a 3rd party logistics company that provided order processing and inventory management software. My website was integrated into their system. When they recently announced that they were going out of business with literally 10 days notice, I lost the shipping and inventory management software, as well as negotiated shipping rates. I had to quickly create my own system to replace the warehouse software, and ShipStation enabled me to quickly create a competent shipping for picking, packing, and shipping with an inventory management system. ### 7. I also don't like that once you enter an order, if it is misspelled you have to cancel and re-enter, a simple edit would be nice. The automation rules are great because with them, all I need to do is click on printing the label. The initial setup was also pretty easy. **What do you dislike about ShipStation?** I would like to have an option to build an automation that automatically divide 1 order that is over 50 lbs into multiple orders to reduce shipping costs. We still have to do that manually. **What problems is ShipStation solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use ShipStation for printing labels and organizing my shipping. It's easy to use with automation rules that pre-organize orders, making my process efficient.
