"ShipStation has been a Godsend"
What do you like best about ShipStation?

Its ease of use & great shipping discounts should be enough but the way it expedites our shipping is amazing. Our shopping cart offers a similar service built-in that we could use for free but we won't jump ship. Everyone here who uses it has different things they like and I am addicted to them all. ShipStation's robust features make order fulfillment a positive experience instead of the nightmare it was before we discovered it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ShipStation?

What annoys us the most is the lack of integration with HS code lookup for international shipments. This is a no-brainer, especially considering that DHL, UPS & FedEx manage to do it. Occasionally it slogs out while processing. This is especially problematic when we get down to the wire before out cutoff time. We also seem to have difficulty using more than one postage service which limits our ability to take advantage of certain rate discounts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Shipping and Savings"
What do you like best about ShipStation?

ShipStation hooks to everything and makes shipping easy. I even like how much we save on shipping using ShipStation. We use the mobile app and use ShipStation to verify orders as well. Customer support is great at answering any questions we have quickly. Setting up ShipStation was easy as it just plugs quick and easy in to Shopify and Amazon. Simplifying the shipping we do on a daily basis. ShipAtation has become a crucial part to our company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Shipping with Excellent Integration"
What do you like best about ShipStation?

I have been using ShipStation for about six years and appreciate its capability to seamlessly integrate with our POS system and manage online shipping need. One of the things I love about ShipStation is its ease of use, from setting it up initially to its day-to-day operations, it has been very smooth. The quick shipment features, ability to create labels promptly, and securing good shipping rates effectively streamline our shipping logistics. It handles tracking and sends out confirmation updates efficiently which significantly helps with customer communication. The address validation and alerting our customers about the status of their shipments are very useful features. I value the quick calculation and purchase of shipping labels, especially from UPS. Additionally, the feature that allows us to generate labels and retrospectively check on shipments for our customers extends our business efficiency. Moreover, staying competitive with pricing is crucial for us, and ShipStation meets this need effectively. I am also pleased with the reporting structure, which aids in our business management. Overall, ShipStation significantly simplifies the processes of our online e-commerce shipping. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Bulk Shipping Made Easy"
What do you like best about ShipStation?

I appreciate the smooth and straightforward setup experience with ShipStation, thanks to the assistance of their representative. I love how ShipStation handles bulk shipping efficiently, particularly in generating shipping labels using a thermal printer, which simplifies the process of preparing packages for the United States Postal Service pick up the next day. The capability to upload addresses into the system for label creation significantly enhances my operations, especially for managing up to 400 shipments in a single day. I value the integration with Excel, which streamlines data processes by eliminating the need for manual address entry and enabling the generation of reports with tracking information for customer communication. The ease of shipping procedures, from uploading addresses to printing labels and preparing them for postal service collection, makes ShipStation a remarkable tool. These features are crucial, and this ease of use is a key reason why I would choose to repurchase and recommend ShipStation to others, warranting my rating of 10 on the likelihood of recommending it. "Overall, would recommend"
What do you like best about ShipStation?

We initially started using ShipStation when we were switching to using Shopify as our primary platform. After looking at several other possible shipping facilitators, ShipStation was the only one that hd the features we needed to keep business going as usual. Once you get the basics, it's fairly intuitive to use, and getting better. We have negotiated our own rates with our carrier, and it's really simple to have those rates show up in the system. Anytime I've called with a question, the customer support has been excellent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ShipStation?

While there are a lot of amazing reports, there are some limitations that are frustrating only because I know the data is there, it's just not easily accessible. One thing I would love to see is an expansion on the "Shipment Count By User" report. It would be awesome to not only see how many shipments an individual has gotten out, but also how many boxes, how many items, and how much weight. We have such a wide range in our order size, that one person may get 50-75 orders out in a day, while another who is working just as hard may only get out 12-17. Having metrics besides the number of shipments would help me establish a more uniform expectation of what should be accomplished in any given day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Saves Time with Efficient Order Sync, But Lacks Master Shipment Support"
What do you like best about ShipStation?

I appreciate ShipStation for its capability to automatically sync orders into their platform, which has streamlined our order processing significantly. The automatic synchronization not only saves us a lot of time but also labor, as we used to manually copy-paste shipping labels using different providers. This function enables us to process shipments more efficiently by automatically adding tracking numbers to our website. Additionally, I love the rate comparison feature, which allows us to compare shipping rates from different carriers like USPS, UPS, and FedEx. This functionality is vital as it empowers us to select the most cost-effective shipping options, ultimately saving us money. The customer service representatives are incredibly helpful; they guided us through a somewhat complicated onboarding process, ensuring our accounts like Etsy and Amazon were properly linked, which would have been challenging without their support. Overall, ShipStation enhances our shipment processing efficiency and helps us maintain a smooth operational flow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ShipStation?

I find the initial setup with ShipStation a bit complicated. Linking accounts like Etsy and Amazon requires customer support assistance, as doing it independently can be challenging. Additionally, ShipStation's inability to process master shipments is a significant limitation for us. With orders containing multiple boxes, we cannot provide a master tracking number for customers to view all related shipments. This forces us to process each box separately, unlike FedEx, which offers master shipment capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"ShipStation Just Lost a Long-Time Customer"
What do you like best about ShipStation?

Its history . . . but that is now history. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ShipStation?

I’ve been a loyal customer of ShipStation since 2015—nearly a decade of paying for their service without issue. But this past week has been a nightmare.

Out of the blue, all of our API connections stopped working, and we began receiving error 402 across the board. No notice. No warning. Just a broken system. When I reached out, I was eventually told I needed to upgrade to a higher-tier “Gold” plan—despite being well under the shipping and selling channel thresholds that supposedly justify that tier.

So let me get this straight: after years of paying for your service and building our workflow around your platform, you arbitrarily cut off API access and hold it hostage behind a paywall—even though we’re using a fraction of what we’re allowed? That’s not a “policy change.” That’s a cash grab, plain and simple.

To make matters worse, customer support was robotic, scripted, and infuriatingly slow. I had to talk to an AI assistant that couldn’t understand the problem, and when I finally got to a human, they repeated company lines about “new policies” and offered no real solutions. The support rep even admitted the usage didn’t justify an upgrade—but still told me to pay more if I wanted it to work.

This is a betrayal of customer trust and a shining example of how not to treat long-term users.

I’ve canceled my account and will never recommend ShipStation again. If you’re a business owner relying on stable integrations and transparent pricing, look elsewhere. There are plenty of other platforms that won’t pull the rug out from under you for a few extra bucks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Hunter Nagar of ShipStation

First and foremost, we want to sincerely thank you for being a loyal ShipStation customer since 2015. We’re truly sorry to hear about your recent experience and the frustration it’s caused. Your feedback is not only heard — it’s valued.

We understand how disruptive unexpected changes can be, especially when your business relies on our platform for daily operations. You’ve invested nearly a decade in using ShipStation, and we deeply regret that this change around API access left you feeling blindsided and unsupported.

To provide some clarity:

Our goal with recent plan changes — including API access moving to the Gold tier — is to better align our pricing with the value and scalability our platform offers, especially for growing businesses that rely heavily on integrations. We recognize that for some customers, these changes may feel abrupt or frustrating, especially if you’re not seeing new features that you would utilize. We’re actively working to make the value of each tier clearer, and your feedback helps shape that direction.

I have reached out to you personally to discuss potential options in hopes to find a way forward that addresses your concerns and shows you the level of care and support you deserve, so keep an eye on your email inbox.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience — we’re listening.

"An almost perfect ecommerce shipping solution"
What do you like best about ShipStation?

Shipstation is the hub to the wheel of my business. It integrates into almost all of my e-commerce channels and several of my shipping services. It excels at managing in and outbound orders to my 3rd party shipping warehouse. I am able to focus on growing my business instead of operating in it. A key to my success as a small company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ShipStation?

While the software tracks my inventory, it does not help me manage it. I would really like to see a feature that alerts me to low stock, or the ability to manage my product packaging independently of the SKU it is attached to. These are processes I have to manually do at the time of this writing (May 2023). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
