Price Hikes and Reduced Support Undercut an Otherwise Solid System **Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2026 **What do you like best about ShipStation?** The system was actually very well built and once I figured it out I really like it **What do you dislike about ShipStation?** Shipstation was working great for my small business, then they decided to take advantage of their customers. They put a significant price increase through by taking away tools we need on a day to day basis, and hiding them behind a subscription upgrade! Shipstation was already more expensive than other shipping companies, but now I'm paying SOOO much more for tools that I have to have. What a shame. Also they got rid of most of their customer service reps, and you have to aske Ai 10 times to get to a human. Last year I would have rated it 5 stars, this year, only 3. Terrible decisions from the top. **What problems is ShipStation solving and how is that benefiting you?** After asking Ai ten times, to speak to a representative, they told me I have to double my monthly payment to get the tools I use everyday. ### 2. Easy to manage the shipments. **What do you dislike about ShipStation?** There are missing features for automation. To manage multiple shipments at once is impossible. Doens't work for international shipments created with UPS, DHL or Fedex, the customs form is limited and it always get stuck at the destination or get double taxation. The most disappointing aspect is the increased price, which is significantly disproportionate to the service offered. **What problems is ShipStation solving and how is that benefiting you?** I consolidate all my stores and shipments to get a comprehensive view and combine orders from different stores. The speed of generating labels is satisfactory, although the ShipStation Connect experiences numerous bugs. ### 3. The customer support is responsive. **What do you dislike about ShipStation?** There are a lot of options. Honestly, too many options if you're a small business with only one shipping location and not a lot of packages per week. It's actually pretty difficult to use when you have to navigate past a hundred different options to find the single thing you want to do. **What problems is ShipStation solving and how is that benefiting you?** Shipstation streamlines my shipping process, to a point. ### 4. Easy to integrate. **What problems is ShipStation solving and how is that benefiting you?** It allows us OmniChannel integration to meet our shipping needs. ### 5. I also love that they validate the addresses for you so that you don't ship to the wrong address. **What do you dislike about ShipStation?** It is almost impossible to get support from Shipstation. We have had several outages or errors that have negatively impacted our business because they are so slow at responding or don't respond at all. We sell DTC so when we can't ship out product on demand, it really hurts our sales **What problems is ShipStation solving and how is that benefiting you?** They help us buy postage and ship out our website orders ### 6. Features that were important for our workflow were eliminated, and things that were easier to do are now harder. And through it all, customer service was patronizing about the changes, for instance, congratulating me on my "idea" when in fact, it was not my idea but a feature that used to exist that no longer exists. But, of course, they couldn't admit that it was something that used to exist. The update was BAD and forcing us to use it was worse. **What problems is ShipStation solving and how is that benefiting you?** It saves me money compared to Shopify's native shipping system. ### 7. Ever since the big update we've seen a lot more bugs and issues while losing features that made our jobs easier. Single source for customer order status feedback. Reduced steps between order placement and fulfillment. ### 13. We had to switch to an alternative. **What problems is ShipStation solving and how is that benefiting you?** It was solving our Order processing and warehousing needs but in vain. ### 14. It constantly has bugs, presets cause issues, known issues persist too long, support has no idea what you are talking about 90% of the time. We have developed workarounds to get it to work correctly. There is potential. However, the current issues are not being addressed promptly, leaving us looking into other options. It has problems with rating packages, and regional rates are almost always wrong, which causes budgeting to be an issue. **Recommendations to others considering ShipStation:** Do not expect them to support you. Get familiar with the self help and google issues for forum support. Do not email them for help they will not answer you. If your system is not working uninstall and reinstall shipstation connect, clear cache and cookies and pray. Never set presets they will cause your whole label batch to print wrong and you will be charged the wrong postal rate. Do not use multiple shippers in one batch it cannot compute. You must print priority separate from first class mail. **What problems is ShipStation solving and how is that benefiting you?** We ship things. It works with our eCommerce business to fulfill orders, and we also use some of the analytics features on items sold through our website. ### 16. Export features are nice **What do you dislike about ShipStation?** I loved this software, but now I am trying to find something better. I have a laundry list of issues that are getting larger. They update this software every few days, and it creates more problems. They expect us to stop shipping and work with them on issues they made with their updates. I just want to ship the damn box. I didn't sign up to work in QC. **What problems is ShipStation solving and how is that benefiting you?** Shipstation is for people that have time to waste.
