What do you like best about Miva?

Miva's backend is not user friendly or easy to use. It is not easy to integrate your tech stack. Most things, if not everything, require help from Professional services or a developer. They are not mobile first or mobile friendly, our template mobile speed is 40 out of 100. Miva customer support is not helpful; they want you to pay Professional services to investigate and do work on everything. I have to use Miva daily and it's very difficult to find where data is stored in Miva, it lacks transparency. There aren't enough features in Miva, and each time they do a deployment, they usually cause an issue or break something. If it takes a developer to implement any new app or feature, nothing is easy to implement. We visited their annual conference where they told us, "Once you buy Miva, I have nothing else to sell you" which is untrue. They constantly push you to purchase professional service hours, and professional services help. Miva limits us with how we can export data, in pieces, and often times we have to log into an external database to access and download large data files, as their system can't handle it. They started a new AI Beta, told us it was full, and then went on one of their "Ask Wayne" sessions and announced sign ups were still open. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Miva?

MIVA can improve it's business ethics, quality and speed of communication with its customers, transparency, and accuracy of professional services quotes and work. Miva can be restrictive and difficult to code/manipulate. We always have issues with their professional services team charging more than they quote. We are restricted by our older template, and all enhancements and changes are designed for the newest framework. I would not recommend working with Miva. Doing any work with Miva takes a very long time, and it took over 3 weeks for Miva to address a service issue that they acknowledged was urgent. After we brought to Miva's attention that they were violating their own terms of service, they changed the terms of service, which no longer align with California law or industry practices, so they can do whatever they want. Miva can shut off your service or site at any time for any reason, and if you do not pay your subscription fees within 24 hours of them being due, they can turn off your site. I do not like anything about the Miva platform. Miva picks and chooses it's priorities, which aren't their customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Miva?

Miva has been a solid platform. It is stable and moderately easy to use. We have a complicated business model with many requirements. There is a growing number of developers that can build out needed features for our success. Wholesale pricing levels for multiple customer groups.

The best part is our Customer Success team. Justin and Wayne have been great to work with. When I do not need management-level assistance, the ticket system Miva uses is staffed by REAL PEOPLE who are good techs. I have not had to wait for days and battle AI or bots or people working with English as a second language.

Justin and Wayne worked to resolve all my concerns. They coached my team and me for growth and suggested tasks we could do ourselves to avoid costly developers. Once we re-signed our contract, they were still present and following up with us regularly to make sure we were making progress and volunteered to be a resource with scheduled calls to go over account details and training. The excellent support and dedicated representative gives our team much more confidence!

They are expanding many features and addressing the pain points we have as a growing business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Miva?

I regret that we did not regularly engage with the customer service team when we first started. Some of the desired features need plug-ins or custom programming. What do you like best about Miva?

Miva Merchant's best trait is its adaptability to cater your website to whatever experience you want to share with your customers. With Modules, Plugins and intuitive backend experiences, with the recent inclusion of a GUI based page builder, those with limited programming knowledge can build intelligent, well-designed pages. For every roadblock we’ve encountered, Miva has been able to provide us with a solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Miva?

Besides MivaScript being a unique quantifier for finding Web Design assets that can work on the Miva Platform, I have no downsides. That can, at times, cause problems in finding reliable resources quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The most helpful thing about Miva is the vast toolset available to us. We utilize Miva daily not only for its website and storefront management but also for customers to place their orders, and the amount of control we have over everything and ease of use is unmatched. Account reps have always been amazing. They are quick to respond and find answers for my questions. May not always be the solution I want, but they get me answers. The admin is incredibly well thought out and easy to navigate. They are continuously improving it as well, so always nice to see updates that make my life easier. What do you dislike about Miva?

The price. It always adds up higher than I'd want/expect. When you get good developers from the pro services team they normally do great work, but it always makes me pause before asking for something as time is money. So be sure to figure out what you want in detail before you ask. I've had some limitations in what I'd want to do, but you really are going to get that with anyone you use... if you have a creative mind like I try to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
