## Workday HCM Reviews
 ### 1. Intuitive, Fast, and Customizable HCM Solution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tim C. | Sr HRIS Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I use Workday HCM as the primary place to capture and retain employee information, and I love how it serves as a source of truth for both employees and admins. The system is intuitive and runs very quickly, making it pleasant to navigate. I really appreciate its organized nature, where key information is available on the homepage and other details are neatly placed in submenus. The level of customization is impressive, and despite its simplicity, the amount of data and options available is incredible. Another feature I value is its seamless integration with other modules, especially how position management and job profile structures are incorporated into individual employee profiles. This makes it easier for recruiters to do their job and for me to track and replace roles efficiently. Tasks are easy to access and review without the need to load separate tools. The initial setup was fast and smooth, which was a huge relief. Overall, it's a solid system that has made managing employee information much simpler for me.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

Honestly there's little that's wrong with it, it constantly improves little by little with the 2 major releases a year Workday does. Maybe my only gripe is user related and a preference, the times when you change options it's a search box that doesn't run smoothly or quickly. Should be easier ways to select more options at once. In sub menus for search, hitting CTRL and A does work, but not in all screens. A quick example I can think of is when doing security role management, if I copy another user's roles to another person, I have to manually select each role I do or don't want, no quick way to do it sadly.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Workday HCM to organize employee information, link modules, and allow staff to view relevant data. It's standardized, connects sub-modules well, helps run reports, update data, easily track positions, and job profiles.

 ### 2. Seamless Compensation Management with Intuitive Updates

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samantha R. | Compensation Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I like the entirety of Workday HCM. It's very easy to use and makes processes smooth and efficient. I appreciate the ease with which I can approve offers since the system automatically pulls all the necessary information like the hiring group, manager, salary grade, and salary range, consolidating everything on one page. This makes the approval process much simpler. I like the quickness of submitting onetime payments, which are straightforward. Creating job profiles is also super straightforward. The system's layout is intuitive and clear, and I never have trouble finding anything. It's also very helpful for compensation changes, with everything laid out nicely, so I always know where to go for specific tasks like job changes or salary adjustments. It's an intuitive tool that helps with my day-to-day work.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

The only thing that can be a little tricky is when downloading the Excel version of a report. There are some files that are rather large, and it makes sense that it takes a little bit longer. However, due to their magnitude, it can take five minutes to download. Sometimes, if I am downloading a larger file and then another file that coincides with it, it will delay that file. If the download speed could be quicker, it would make my work a bit easier.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM solves calculation issues for compensation changes with FTE employees, helps with annualized salary calculations for part-time staff, and provides error explanations for integration processes, making my work much more intuitive and efficient.

 ### 3. Comprehensive HR Suite, But Clunky Navigation, Lag Hold It Back

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wye Kit T. | Associate, Asia Pacific Brand & Partner Marketing, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I've used Workday across various US companies I've worked for - Visa, LinkedIn, Confluent, Worldpay.

Comprehensive features. Covers everything within the HR/Talent lifecycle stack. Anything that I need to input or find (e.g. taking leave, checking days of leave left, salary etc.) can be done in a single portal.

Typically integrated to many tools like payroll, compensation and benefits etc. so it is easy to get a view of things.

Onboarding typically done in background so fuss-free as a new employee.

Not sure about Pricing as I am not privy to it. AI features are not available/not made known so I don't know.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

- Extremely difficult to navigate. The portal also often has bugs and is laggy. I find it very difficult to use as a portal in general.
- Sometimes not every tool is available in Workday as employer use other tools (e.g. payroll) so I have to navigate out of it.
- Clunky UI/UX feeling due to drop-down boxes and lack of auto-fill feature. Does not feel smooth or fast.

- I don't know how much they pay for this, but I feel it is probably going to be expensive. ROI-wise likely more valuable for admin than users like myself.
- AI or Intelligence features I don't even know if any are available. Would be great if they are any that I could use.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem solved for me is taking leave and checking number of days of leave left, the breakdown between different leave types (e.g. PTO, Sick Days, Off-in-Lieus etc.).

However, I overall find Workday a very clunky HR system that is difficult for a user (employee) to use. It may be a different experience for employers and HRBPs.

It would be hugely beneficial if AI agents could recommend any days of leave to take to maximize leave; or help to recommend actions when needed.

 ### 4. All My HR Tasks in One Slick Workday HCM Platform

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel H. | Technician, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I use Workday HCM for all of my people-related tasks. This includes reviewing my salary information and the personal details my workplace has access to. As part of my monthly and quarterly reviews, I also use Workday’s platform to submit my updates and discuss them with my people leader. I can review my manager’s feedback through the platform as well, and I can request feedback from peers and other stakeholders to support my overall performance and development. Submitting holiday requests and processing any sickness paperwork is also done via Workday. Having everything in one slick UI makes my day-to-day life much easier, because I don’t have to worry about finding different systems to complete my HR-related tasks.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

One of my main dislikes about Workday is its occasionally clunky UI design. In my role, the sections of Workday I need to interact with are hidden within several tiers of menus, which can be fiddly and time-consuming when I’m trying to complete my tasks.

As part of my role, I also use Workday as an expense hub. While it’s convenient to have this within the same system, the expense hub UI isn’t very user-friendly. The process is broken down into multiple stages, but the steps aren’t very clear and could really do with simplification. Making the expense-claim flow easier and clearer would help both employees submitting claims and the business, especially when it comes to reporting for accountancy.

Workday (or at least the package our business has) doesn’t include any AI, and integrating a large language model could help address the shortfalls I’ve mentioned above. There also doesn’t seem to be a significant integrations suite within our Workday package, and offering more bolt-on integrations could help cover some of the current gaps in the overall Workday setup.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As previouAutomating Invoicing and Accounts PayableBefore fully optimizing their Workday setup, OVO's accounts payable (AP) team was manually entering hundreds of invoices daily, leading to data entry fatigue and inevitable errors. The Solution: By leveraging Workday Financial Management alongside AP automation services (such as OneSource Virtual), OVO automated the scanning, coding, and auditing of invoices. The Impact: This drastically reduced manual data entry, pushing invoice processing accuracy to over 80% and freeing up finance clerks to focus on analytical tasks and resolving complex support tickets rather than tedious data entry.Streamlining Core Financial OperationsWhen OVO acquired SSE's retail business, they needed to merge the financial operations of thousands of employees and massive transactional volumes. The Solution: Workday acts as OVO's single ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) financial ledger. It handles the general ledger, cash management, fixed assets, and accounts receivable in one place. The Impact: Workday automates period-close processes and harmonizes the chart of accounts. This ensures that multi-entity consolidations are calculated efficiently without requiring massive, end-of-month manual reconciliation by the finance team. Procurement and Sustainability TrackingAs a green energy supplier with a strict "Plan Zero" carbon mission, OVO needs to track exactly where its money is going and what the environmental impact of its supply chain is. The Solution: OVO integrates Workday with its procurement platforms (like Ivalua) to maintain a strict data match for all purchase orders (POs) and vendor onboarding. The Impact: Clean, accurate financial data in Workday prevents the company from "guessing" when tracking its carbon footprint. It enables the procurement team to ensure sustainable vendors are the default choice while eliminating missing downstream data for Accounts Payable.Simplifying Employee HR AdministrationManaging a workforce of roughly 5,000 employees requires a heavy daily administrative lift for human resources. The Solution: Workday handles core HR workflows, employee self-service, and benefits enrollment, often operating alongside connected HR platforms. The Impact: Employees can autonomously manage their personal data, navigate benefits enrollment, and access OVO's progressive reward systems (such as their flexible pay and green benefits) without needing to continuously raise daily support tickets with the HR department. In short, Workday acts as the connective tissue for OVO Energy's back-office. By automating repetitive financial workflows, consolidating ledgers, and maintaining strict procurement data integrity, the platform allows OVO's staff to step away from administrative busywork and focus on their core mission of providing greener energy.

 ### 5. Workday HCM Makes Goals, Expenses, and Feedback Surveys Easy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marcus W. | Graduate Student Researcher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

As a manager, Workday HCM has a lot of useful features such as ability to do expense reporting, set and track goals, track payroll, and review employee feedback surveys. The interface in particular for feedback surveys is good because it breaks it down into clear segments to focus on and also is starting to add AI features to help summarise a lot of comments quickly, which is really helpful for large teams.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

I think that the integration with our wider company software is lacking, particularly payroll. We use it to track and budget expenses but the output is still very manual as at the end of the day it gets exported to an Excel doc that we have to then reconcile every budget year. I'd prefer it if everything was on one dashboard.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The employee goals and surveys functions are good, they allow us to keep track of personal and team goals and send out timely reminders to update and get them done, creating high engagement. Previously with surveys people might forget to fill them and we wouldn't know who or had struggle following up, but now everything is automated and email reminders can go out, increasing % respondents which is crucial for feedback.

 ### 6. Centralized Workday—Easy Task, Document, and Service Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hamidullah N. | Administrator of Global Online Learning Programs, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

Everything is centralized in one app, which makes it easy to complete tasks, follow up, and manage my work and documents in one place. It also supports customers by sending reminders ahead of activity deadlines and providing clear instructions. On top of that, it offers multiple communication and support options for customers, which helps keep things moving. I use Workday every day to manage both my full-time and part-time jobs, and I really appreciate being able to integrate different services into a single place within Workday.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

Until now, I have not faced any activities that are not possible in Workday, so I like this ability. Price is also reasonable. Works will run smoothly, it is good to contribute with AI options.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM helps address challenges related to fragmented HR systems, manual processes, and limited visibility into workforce data. By centralizing employee information, payroll, benefits, performance, and talent management in one platform, it reduces administrative burden, minimizes errors, and improves data accuracy.

For me, this results in more efficient HR operations, faster and more consistent processes (such as onboarding, changes, and reporting), and better access to real-time workforce insights. Overall, Workday HCM enables better decision-making, improves compliance, and enhances the employee experience by providing a single, reliable system for managing people data.

 ### 7. Powerful All-in-One HR Platform with Great Analytics, but a Steep Learning Curve

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ram K. | Senior Staffing Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

What I like best about Workday HCM is how it brings core HR processes, payroll, talent management, and reporting into a single, centralized platform. Having everything connected in one system makes employee data easier to manage and significantly reduces manual work across HR operations.

One of the most valuable features for our team is the reporting and analytics capability. The customizable dashboards and real-time reporting help leadership make faster, data-driven decisions without relying heavily on spreadsheets or separate reporting tools. The self-service functionality has also improved the employee experience by allowing staff to easily update personal information, access pay details, request time off, and complete performance tasks without HR intervention.

From a UI/UX perspective, the platform is generally intuitive once users are familiar with it, and the mobile app makes it convenient for employees and managers to complete tasks on the go. Workday’s integration capabilities are another major strength, especially when connecting with payroll, finance, recruiting, and third-party business systems. This has helped streamline workflows and reduce duplicate data entry.

Performance-wise, the system is reliable and scales well for larger organizations with complex HR needs. I also appreciate the continuous product updates and innovation, particularly around AI-driven insights, workforce planning, and automation features that help improve efficiency and visibility into talent trends.

Although implementation can require a significant investment of time and resources, the long-term ROI comes from improved process standardization, automation, and reduced administrative overhead. Workday’s support resources, training materials, and onboarding documentation have also been helpful in driving adoption across teams.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

One downside of Workday HCM is that while the platform is very powerful, some areas can feel overly complex and require a significant learning curve, especially for new administrators or occasional users. Certain workflows and configurations are not always intuitive, and simple changes can sometimes require multiple steps or specialized knowledge.

The reporting tools are robust, but creating advanced custom reports can be time-consuming without proper training. From a UI/UX perspective, some users find navigation less streamlined than expected, particularly when moving between modules or trying to locate specific tasks quickly. The number of clicks required for certain actions can impact efficiency.

Another challenge is that implementations and system updates can require substantial planning and internal resources. Organizations may need dedicated Workday specialists or external consultants to fully optimize the platform, which can increase overall costs. While integrations are generally strong, configuring and maintaining integrations with third-party systems can occasionally be complex and require technical expertise.

Performance is usually reliable, but some users experience slower load times during high-volume reporting or large data processing tasks. Additionally, because Workday is highly configurable, maintaining consistency across business processes and security roles can become difficult in larger organizations.

Pricing can also be a concern for smaller or mid-sized companies, as licensing, implementation, and ongoing support costs may be higher compared to some competing HR platforms. While customer support and documentation are helpful overall, response times for more complex issues can vary depending on the severity and support tier.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM helps solve the challenge of managing HR processes across multiple systems by centralizing employee data, payroll, recruiting, performance management, benefits, and reporting into a single platform. Before using Workday, many HR tasks required manual data entry, spreadsheets, or disconnected systems, which increased the risk of errors and slowed down processes.

One of the biggest benefits has been improved efficiency through automation and self-service functionality. Employees can independently manage tasks like updating personal information, submitting time-off requests, viewing pay information, and completing performance reviews, which reduces administrative workload for HR teams. Managers also have quicker access to workforce data and approvals, helping them make faster decisions.

The platform’s real-time reporting and analytics capabilities have been especially valuable for workforce planning and compliance reporting. Instead of spending hours compiling reports manually, leadership can access accurate, up-to-date insights directly from dashboards and custom reports. This has improved visibility into headcount, turnover, hiring progress, and overall workforce trends.

Workday HCM has also improved collaboration between HR, finance, and leadership teams because everyone is working from the same source of truth. The integration capabilities help streamline data flow between systems, reducing duplicate work and improving accuracy across departments.

From a business perspective, the platform has helped standardize HR processes, improve data consistency, and support scalability as the organization grows. The automation, centralized data management, and improved reporting ultimately save time, reduce operational inefficiencies, and allow HR teams to focus more on strategic initiatives rather than administrative tasks.

 ### 8. Efficient HR Management with Diverse Features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Becky W. | Sourcing Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I find Workday HCM easy to use with a lot of diverse functions all in one place. It helps me be more efficient because I can clearly see what I need to be doing next and where our candidate is in the hiring process. Plus, it supports my needs outside of hiring, addressing my personal needs as an employee, which is really great. The initial setup was very easy, which was a relief.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

I feel like there are so many layers to Workday HCM that I definitely do not know everything there is to know about it, and I'm not sure where to even start to learn. When I have tried to do a little digging and learning on my own, I had no idea what I was doing.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Workday HCM for requisition and candidate tracking, which helps with clear communication and moving candidates along in the hiring process. It makes me more efficient by showing what needs to be done next, all in one place.

 ### 9. Workday HCM Makes Payroll, Scheduling, and Onboarding Seamless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Timothy S. | Special Processing Unit, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

Workday HCM is incredible and helps me manage everything to do with my employees in one place! With the ability to do payroll and and manage the employees scheduling and clock in it makes it beyond easy to use so that everything can be in one convenient place! The UI is so amazing and it makes it so seamless and easy. Especially since you don't need to explain anything to new onboarding employees. It all handles itself!

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

The one thing I dislike about Workday HCM is that it has pretty limited customization. It would be nice if they allowed you to customize the entirety of the website but unfortunately it limits you to what you can customize. I believe every employee should be able to customize their screen to their choosing especially since they have to work with it everyday and it basically becomes apart of their daily routine. Something like this can go a long way to help new employees with troubling interface problems and even just boost overall moral well being because you get to look at something you feel like you had a hand in! Besides that I actually love using this and wouldn't change it for anything!

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM helps me solve so many things at once! Not only can I manage and schedule my employees but I am also able to handle all of payroll and many more features! It makes it so easy to do so many things all in one place and thanks to it I can spend minimal time dealing with these problems and can focus on my work! Its amazing how easy this makes it!

 ### 10. Unified HR Data, But a Steep Learning Curve and Clunky Search

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Neelanjana M. | Sr. Corporate Trainer/ Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

What I appreciate most is the unified data architecture. Having HR, payroll, and talent management all in one place eliminates the need for messy integrations. It ensures that when a change is made to an employee record, it reflects across every module instantly, which drastically reduces data entry errors.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

The platform has a steep learning curve for new administrators. Because it is so highly configurable, the initial setup and ongoing maintenance require specialized knowledge or expensive consultants. For casual users, the search functionality can sometimes be non-intuitive, requiring multiple clicks to find relatively simple tasks or documents.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A major problem we faced was the high volume of manual requests for simple tasks like address changes or tax updates. Workday’s robust self-service portal moved these tasks directly to the employees. This has significantly lightened the administrative load on our HR department and improved data accuracy, as employees are now responsible for their own information updates.

 ### 11. Efficient, intuitive, and great for everyday HR self-service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luisa B. | Cash Application Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

What I like most about Workday HCM is how it centralizes all my essential work tools into one intuitive platform. I can easily log my hours, download my pay stubs, and request time off in just a few clicks. The self-service functionality is excellent, giving me full autonomy over my personal information and HR tasks without any hassle. It’s rare to find an enterprise tool that is this user-friendly and reliable.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

The navigation can occasionally feel a bit convoluted. While the interface is clean, some specific information is buried under multiple layers of sub-tabs and menus. It sometimes requires more clicks than expected to find a particular document or setting, which can be slightly frustrating when you're in a hurry.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM solves the problem of fragmented HR processes by centralizing everything in one secure location. Before, managing payroll, time tracking, and vacation requests often required multiple platforms or back-and-forth emails with HR.

This benefits me by providing complete autonomy and transparency. I can log my hours daily, access my historical pay stubs, and manage my tax documents independently. Having a single source of truth for my employment data saves me a significant amount of time and ensures that I have instant access to my information whenever I need it, directly contributing to a more organized work-life management.

 ### 12. Workday Makes HR Service Delivery Fast, Easy, and Well-Integrated

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aman S. | HR Service Delivery Representative, Human Resources, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I work in HR service delivery, and Workday is very easy to use—everything is set up nicely. I can quickly view employee information, including payslips and benefits. I’m also able to process many types of job changes and post jobs both internally and externally. It makes it straightforward to manage time off and leaves of absence as well. I can generate different types of letters, and I can track time and payments too. Overall, it’s the best HCM for what I need. It’s also connected to our other Microsoft tools like Outlook and Teams, as well as ServiceNow.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

Security! Although it’s a good thing that people can have different security levels and their access can be limited, sometimes, working in HR, if you aren’t given the correct security you simply can’t do your job. For example, in Workday Learning, you need Learning Admin access to manage employees’ learning, but if you’re not granted that access, you end up having to rely on the internal Workday/HRIS team and go back and forth just to complete the reporting requests from stakeholders.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can do many things in one place: job requisitions and job changes like transfers, promotions, and demotions. I don’t have to manually track employee leave balances because they’re tracked automatically. I also don’t have to manually write letters for employees; once the templates are set up by our internal HRIS team, I can just add the needed information and generate the letter I want—for example, an employment verification letter. There are many good things about Workday, but in short, it’s the best thing that can happen to HR. There are no multiple apps to learn.

 ### 13. Streamlined HR Processes with Powerful Automation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arya P. | HR Analyst- Global Benefits Operations, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

What I appreciate the most about Workday HCM is how much can be automated. Routine HR tasks like approval, notification, and workflow can be set up to run smoothly without constant manual intervention. I also like the flexibility to create custom reports and tailored notifications, which makes it easier to get the exact insights we need and keep the right people informed. It saves time and reduces repetitive work while still giving us control over how the system supports our processes. Additionally, the ability to integrate Workday HCM with other systems helps reduce manual work and keeps information consistent across HR systems, making processes more efficient and less error-prone.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

While Workday is powerful, some areas could be more user-friendly. Reporting is flexible but can feel complicated if you're not already familiar with the systems, and it sometimes takes extra efforts to get the exact data you need. Navigation can also feel a bit click-heavy, with multiple steps required for simple tasks. Users who are not technical feel it more complex. A more guided or simplified reporting interface would make it easier to quickly pull the insights we need without relying on advance knowledge.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM centralizes employee data, streamlining HR operations. It's easy for employees to self-manage, and managers track changes efficiently. Automation and custom reporting save time and reduce repetitive tasks. Integrations ensure seamless data flow, enhancing efficiency and reducing errors.

 ### 14. Slow, Glitchy, and Hard to Correct Approvals When Changes Are Needed

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ratheesh R N. | Senior Medical Coder, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

It has all the administrative details regarding career in one place and we don't have to open many links for the same.

Consolidating the previous experience documents and certifications was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

It is sometimes very slow and unresponsive. Have seen many glitches in which changes made are not saved properly.

When correcting mistakes regarding absence, if we try to correct it, it is very troublesome to do so. It has many set of rules that doesn't allow changes once it is approved, although in some cases we need to correct wrong approvals.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We required many links for different tasks, be it team absense, my absence, collecting the documents and understanding the organisation chart to learn the hierarchy. Workday brings it all in one place.

 ### 15. Modern, User-Friendly Workday That Makes Managers’ Day-to-Day Easier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brandon P. | Practice Coordinator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I really like how easy Workday is to use. The UI looks modern and feels very user-friendly, especially for new users. Since Workday was integrated at our company, it has received a lot of praise from both new and existing employees. It’s also been very effective for our managers and has made their day-to-day work easier.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

There are times when Workday glitches, which can disrupt our managers’ workflow. I do appreciate that when Workday plans maintenance to address potential issues, it’s typically performed after business hours, which results in minimal to no interruption to our workflow.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problems Workday is solving for our company are minimizing errors in timekeeping for our employees and accurately tracking hours worked. This saves our company money and reduces the time spent correcting mistakes, while also helping make our managers more efficient.

 ### 16. Easy-to-Use Interface with Straightforward Workflows

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason H. | Manager, WFM and Business Analysis, Management Consulting, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

The interface is easy to use and quick to get comfortable with. The front page is well laid out, and the workflows are straightforward once you get used to the formats and how everything is organized.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

The workflows aren’t always easy to follow. I also really don’t like how the reports are laid out—they feel cumbersome to use, and it’s often hard to understand what information is being requested for input. The goals feature is a nice addition, but it isn’t always user-friendly.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At the beginning of the year, we had to enter our department goals so they align with the broader organization. This gives us visibility into goals across the organization, and it’s easier to see how everything connects. Workday helps us keep track of our department goals and stay on top of them throughout the year.

 ### 17. Workday HCM Streamlines HR with Powerful, Easy-to-Use Features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vivek G. | Workday Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

Workday HCM has advanced features that let you access employee information on a single page. From hiring to termination, the overall process is smooth and easy to understand. It also takes fewer resources to complete transactions, which makes day-to-day work more efficient.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

I don’t really see any downside to Workday HCM overall. That said, they should provide clearer, more detailed documentation on how to extract data for reporting. Also, when there’s heavy data processing, the tenant can sometimes feel slow.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM solves fragmented HR, payroll, and talent management issues by providing a unified, cloud-based platform that automates manual tasks, enables AI-driven decision-making, and provides real-time visibility into workforce data. It benefits organizations by increasing operational efficiency, reducing compliance risks, improving employee self-service access, and enabling strategic talent management

 ### 18. Workday HCM: Seamless All-in-One HR Experience with an Intuitive Interface

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Viral S. | IT SecOps Manager, Oil & Energy, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

Workday HCM’s biggest strength is how seamlessly it brings everything together in one place—HR data, payroll, benefits, time tracking, and employee self-service all feel connected and easy to navigate. The interface is clean and intuitive, which makes routine tasks quick to complete, and the self-service features empower employees to manage their own information without needing constant HR support. Overall, it creates a smoother, more efficient experience for both users and administrators.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

Workday HCM is a strong platform overall, but some parts can feel less intuitive than expected. Certain workflows require too many steps or are buried under multiple menus, which can slow users down. The system can also have a noticeable learning curve, especially for employees who don't use it often. While powerful, some features feel overly rigid or limited in customization, making it harder to tailor processes to specific business needs.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM helps our energy company streamline and centralize critical HR processes that were previously scattered across multiple systems. It simplifies workforce management, improves data accuracy, and reduces manual administrative work, which is especially valuable in an industry with diverse roles, from field technicians to corporate staff. Overall, Workday supports smoother operations and helps us manage a large, distributed workforce more effectively.

 ### 19. Prospective Customer/Former User: Leverage Advanced Compensation & Talent Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ruth D. | Human Resources Business Partner (Director), Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I am particularly interested in exploring Workday HCM's performance management side, advanced compensation, benefits, and talent modules because they are far more advanced compared to my company’s current system. I am excited to learn more about how AI is integrated with Workday HCM. Additionally, it's appealing to have job descriptions and related files all in one location, as well as bundled processes like recruitment and employee changes and salary increases instead of using individual systems.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

I think the challenge regarding the implementation is the number or the level of knowledge that even some of our employees, especially more seasoned employees, may have in trying to understand and gain that knowledge of how to utilize and be a good end user.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I think Workday HCM can centralize our HR processes, like storing job descriptions and handling talent management, salary increases, and compliance in one bundled system, instead of using multiple systems.

 ### 20. Workday HCM: Intuitive All-in-One HR Platform with Strong Integrations and Analytics

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dhwanil K. | Data Designer / User Engagement, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

What I like most about Workday HCM is how it centralizes HR processes in one user-friendly platform. Tasks like managing employee data, completing performance reviews, submitting time-off requests, and running reports feel streamlined and are easy to navigate. The self-service tools also empower employees and managers to find information and handle routine tasks on their own, which boosts efficiency and reduces the administrative workload. I also value the real-time reporting features, which provide useful insights for workforce planning and better decision-making.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

One thing I don’t like about Workday HCM is that some workflows can feel unnecessarily complex, particularly when there are multiple approval steps. Some features also come with a learning curve for new users, and locating specific information can sometimes mean clicking through several menus. Although the platform is highly customizable, updating configurations or setting up new processes may require extra support, guidance, or training to do it efficiently.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM helps us address challenges in managing employee information, HR processes, and workforce data across multiple teams. Before we implemented the platform, many tasks required significant manual effort, and information was scattered across different systems. With Workday HCM, employee records, performance management, leave requests, and reporting are now centralized in one place, which improves data accuracy and consistency. As a result, we’ve reduced administrative work, increased process efficiency, and gained clearer visibility into workforce trends, enabling faster and more informed business decisions.

 ### 21. Streamlined HR Operations with a Complex Onboarding Curve

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abhay Kumar S. | US Payroll & Timesheet Executive, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I like that HR payroll, time tracking, and compensation data are all connected in one system with Workday HCM. This integration reduces manual data entry and minimizes payroll errors while giving payroll teams real-time access to accurate employee information. Having accurate data in one place is incredibly valuable, as it saves time during payroll processing and gives me confidence that employees are paid correctly. This improves operational efficiency and employee trust, making the integrated nature of the platform one of its biggest strengths once you gain experience.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

Workday is very powerful, but for new users, the number of reports, tasks, and business processes can feel overwhelming. I think a simpler learning experience for beginners would help users become productive faster. The initial setup was not simple because Workday affects multiple HR processes such as organizational structure, security, business processes, compensation, and reporting. It required careful planning, data validation, and testing.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM helps me pay employees correctly and on time, reducing manual work and ensuring compliance. Its integrated HR, payroll, and compensation system minimizes errors and provides accurate data, boosting operational efficiency and employee trust.

 ### 22. Powerful HR Platform with Strong Reporting Capabilities

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Murad G. | Procurement Professional, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

What I like most about Workday HCM is how intuitive and user-friendly it is compared to many other HR systems. It brings core HR processes, recruiting, performance management, and reporting into a single platform, which makes it easier to manage employee data and workflows efficiently. The self-service features are particularly useful because employees and managers can update information, submit requests, and access reports without relying heavily on HR. I also appreciate the real-time reporting and analytics capabilities, which help organizations make faster, data-driven decisions. Overall, Workday offers a modern user experience while providing the flexibility and scalability needed for growing businesses.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

One thing I dislike about Workday HCM is that some processes can feel overly complex, especially when it comes to configuring workflows, reporting, or navigating less frequently used features. While the platform is powerful, there can be a learning curve for new users, and certain tasks may require more clicks than expected. Additionally, customization and system changes often require specialized knowledge or support from administrators, which can slow down implementation of updates. Overall, the system is very capable, but there is room for improvement in simplicity and ease of use for occasional users.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM helps solve the challenge of managing employee information, HR processes, and workforce data across multiple systems. By centralizing everything in one platform, it reduces manual work, improves data accuracy, and provides better visibility into the workforce. The biggest benefit for me is having easy access to reliable employee and organizational data, which makes reporting, approvals, and decision-making much more efficient. It also streamlines routine tasks such as performance reviews, job changes, and employee self-service requests, saving time for both HR teams and employees.

 ### 23. Workday HCM Keeps Everything in One Place and Easy to Use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bracy C. | DC Administrator, Manufacturing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

What I like most about Workday HCM is how everything is in one place and actually easy to use. It doesn’t feel overly complicated once you get used to it. Things like checking pay, updating your info, or requesting time off are pretty straightforward, which saves a lot of time.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

One thing I don’t like about Workday HCM is that it can feel a bit clunky sometimes, especially when you’re trying to find something specific. You kind of have to click through a few different pages or menus, and it’s not always obvious where everything is.
Also, some of the processes take more steps than they probably should. Like for simple updates or approvals, it can feel a little drawn out instead of quick and simple

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I’d say Workday HCM is mainly solving the problem of having HR stuff scattered all over the place. Before systems like this, a lot of things were done through emails, spreadsheets, or different platforms, which made everything harder to track

 ### 24. Rock-Solid HR Integration, But Recruiter Workflows Feel Click-Heavy

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Denis M. | HR Product Manager | Talent Acquisition Partner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

Everything lives in one system. Recruiting is connected to core HR, so when a candidate becomes a hire, the data moves over without re-entering anything. Approval flows and permissions worked reliably, and in two years I don't remember the system losing data or breaking mid-process. For a company that needs structure and audit trails, it delivers

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

The interface is my biggest issue. I used Workday Recruiting daily for about two years as a recruiter, and even simple actions take too many clicks and too many screen loads. Moving a candidate between stages, leaving feedback, or checking pipeline status all require waiting for pages to render and clicking through multiple screens that could easily be combined into one. Overall, the system feels designed for HR administrators who only jump in occasionally, not for recruiters who live in it eight hours a day. After a while, you end up batching tasks just to avoid opening candidate profiles more than necessary

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It ran our full hiring pipeline — requisitions, candidates, interview feedback, offers — in one place, connected to the rest of HR. The benefit was structure and a single source of truth. The cost was speed of day-to-day work

 ### 25. Powerful Cloud HCM with User-Friendly Insights

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** subodh k. | SAP Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I find Workday HCM to be a user-friendly and cloud-native platform that simplifies HR operations and improves employee experience. I like its intuitive interface, real-time reporting capabilities, and seamless integration with other business systems. One of the key strengths of Workday HCM is its flexibility in supporting global HR processes while maintaining data consistency across regions. Features like self-service, automated workflows, and analytics significantly reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency. I appreciate its user-friendly interface, centralized employee data management, and real-time reporting capabilities, which help streamline HR processes and improve overall efficiency. I also appreciate Workday HCM's workflow automation, employee self-service capabilities, and intuitive dashboards. These features help reduce manual effort, improve user experience, and provide quick access to workforce data and insights for better decision-making.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

While Workday HCM is a powerful platform, some advanced configurations and integrations can be complex and may require specialized expertise. Additionally, certain reporting and customization requirements can be time-consuming to implement, especially in large enterprise environments. Some additional improvements I would like to see include more intuitive navigation for new users, enhanced search functionality, faster loading times for large datasets, and greater flexibility in dashboard personalization. Improved integration monitoring tools and more comprehensive documentation for advanced configurations would also enhance the overall user experience.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Workday HCM to centralize employee data and streamline HR processes with automation. It enhances efficiency, supports self-service, and provides real-time reporting, helping us maintain data consistency, compliance, and strategic workforce planning.

 ### 26. All-in-One HCM Data with Simple, User-Friendly Navigation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

Workday HCM is the best ERP systems amongst all the cloud HRIS platforms I have worked so far in my career. The best part of Workday HCM is the all the HCM data points about core HCM and advanced HCM systems are available in one system, which I am sure every HR administrator, HR professionals, recruiters or employee wants to see. The navigation is simple and user friendly for tasks like hiring, onboarding, HR data, form or policy acknowledgment, etc.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

The rate at which Workday releases new features in HCM module are great but very frequently rolled out. Overall no complaints, its a great HCM platform.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM is one stop solutions for all HR professionals to work together. If recruiter hires someone, there are many complex steps to get the employee’s data fed into the HCM System. Workday HCM have great system integration and capabilities which makes it a breeze to handle and update employee data in their system.

 ### 27. Seamless Workday HCM Integration with Outstanding Performance and Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lenny J. | Executive Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

In the past use of the ADP platform, it was not as robust or user friendly as I have found the Workday HCM platform to be. The integration process was easy, with use of information migration made simple. The performance since the integration has been second to none, as I have found to be the tool that the company was missing. The support for the any questions was available and our onboarding has really taken a step forward. The pricing was on par with our former platform, but the return I find to be better. The AI intelligence or ability to use, has been helpful as well. I truly enjoy the product and the experience has truly bee satisfying.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

At the moment, nothing has presented as dislike, but if there was a challenge, it was the fear of data migration, which was seamless. The product has not disappointed in any regard as of yet.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our onboarding process through ADP was not as robust, very antiquated, and at times stressful to update. However, all those headaches have now been avoided, and again, very pleased the purchase of the product and implementation process.

 ### 28. Streamlined Employee Records and Smooth Onboarding with Workday

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vaishnavi S. | HR Trainee, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

Single employee record with Workday’s workflow continuity means there’s less need for repetitive data entry. It also provides a good structure for the onboarding process, and it works well for storing people information.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

Nothing specific comes to mind. I’ve been using it for about two months now, and my experience has been good so far. The only issue is that it requires me to log in every time I switch to a different application to check other information; apart from that, it’s okay.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I like how Workday HCM connects recruitment, onboarding and operations by keeping candidate and employee info all in one place easy to access.
This feature helps both the recruitment team at the starting and the operations team to maintain the employee cycle well.

 ### 29. Workday HCM Streamlines HR with Intuitive Self-Service and Powerful Analytics

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Asmina A. | Assistant Professor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

orkday HCM has significantly improved the way we manage HR processes by providing a centralized platform for employee data, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and reporting. One of the most valuable features is its intuitive self-service functionality, which allows employees and managers to update information, submit requests, and access HR resources without relying heavily on the HR team.

The automated workflows have streamlined approvals and reduced manual administrative tasks, helping improve efficiency and data accuracy. The reporting and analytics tools are particularly useful, as they provide real-time workforce insights that support informed decision-making.

An unexpected benefit has been the seamless integration between different HR functions, which has improved visibility across the employee lifecycle and enhanced collaboration between departments. Overall, Workday HCM has helped create a more efficient, transparent, and user-friendly HR experience while reducing processing time for routine tasks.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

My main challenge with Workday HCM is usability. While the platform is feature-rich, some workflows require multiple clicks and screens to complete relatively simple tasks. Reporting and search functions can also be less intuitive than expected, particularly for users without advanced training. Improvements in navigation, search accuracy, and report-building simplicity would make the overall experience more efficient and user-friendly.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Workday HCM, employee information, leave requests, approvals, and HR-related processes were often managed through multiple systems and manual communication, which made tracking and reporting time-consuming. Workday HCM centralized these processes into a single platform, providing easier access to employee records and standardized workflows.

One of the key problems it solves is reducing administrative workload through automation. Tasks such as leave management, approvals, employee data updates, and reporting can be completed more efficiently, improving accuracy and reducing delays. The self-service functionality also empowers employees to manage their own information, reducing dependency on HR teams for routine requests.

As a result, we benefit from better visibility of workforce data, faster processing of HR transactions, improved compliance, and more consistent record-keeping. The centralized system has helped save time, minimize manual errors, and improve overall operational efficiency across HR processes.

 ### 30. Self-service that saves the back-and-forth

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sm A. | Automation Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

The self-service side is what does it for me. Booking leave, checking my payslip, updating details, I do it all from my phone in a couple of minutes instead of emailing HR and waiting days. Everything's in one place and the mobile app actually works. Took a bit to learn where things live, but once it clicks it's quick.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

The search is the main thing. Finding a specific task or report often means knowing the exact term Workday uses, and if you guess wrong you get nothing, so I end up clicking around or googling how to do simple things. Anything beyond the basics, like custom reports, gets fiddly fast. It's powerful once you know it, but not something you can just pick up.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's pulled all the HR stuff that used to be scattered across emails and spreadsheets into one place. Before, requesting leave or chasing a payslip meant messaging HR and waiting for someone to get back to me, now I just do it myself and it's logged instantly. I can see my leave balance, benefits, and pay history without asking anyone, which saves me a fair bit of back-and-forth every month. For the company side it keeps everyone's records consistent, so there's less chance of something falling through the cracks.

 ### 31. Customisable, Easy-to-Use All-in-One Platform That Boosts Efficiency

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ruka S. | Organic Growth Lead, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

It's very customisable according to company and users' needs. It's a very easy to use all in one platform from team admin to recruitment to performance review which helps me efficiently deliver the work I need to do.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

This might be the way the company has built it but some of the functions are hidden which may take some time to find or get used to but once you are used to it, it's easy and quick.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem it solves is the efficiency of having all the admin related stuff in a single platform. I don't have to navigate to different platforms to complete different task and the notification will allow me to easily check outstanding tasks.

 ### 32. Workday: A One-Stop Shop for Managing Direct Reports

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carla O. | Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

Workday is my one-stop shop for handling all direct report issues and finding solutions. It includes everything I need to manage my team in the most effective and efficient way.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

There’s a steep learning curve for certain functions, such as schedule changes and the time-off calculators. At times, some features feel like they require too many steps, or there are multiple ways to do the same thing when it could be made simpler.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday is where I go to manage time tracking, payroll, benefits, PTO, and sick days. It keeps everything I need for my team in one place, so it’s easy to find and handle the essentials.

 ### 33. Great for Interviews, Candidate Tracking, and Easy Approvals

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven B. | Campus Facilities Technical Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

It was great for interviews and candidate tracking, and I never had an issue with that. Approvals were easy as well. We didn’t have Slack integration set up, although that might have been possible. For staff 1:1s and annual review meeting notes, we kept everything in Google Docs and didn’t store them in Workday; it would have been nice to have all of that in one place.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

We didn’t have our meeting notes in there, and our KPIs or performance plans were all kept as separate documents in Google Drive. It would be much better if all of these could be stored together in Workday.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We don’t use Workday anymore; the company has moved to Rippling. I’m not sure why the change was made—maybe it was cheaper...........................................

 ### 34. Professional layout, user friendly, great performance!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chelsea H. | Writer and Editor, Higher Education, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2018

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

It’s easy to use, looks great, and doesn’t require any training. I like that it is usable on my phone as well as my laptop. The interface is also nice to look at, so I feel it's easy on the eyes.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

Sometimes I get confused when they have updates and I have to figure out where the new information can be found, but I still like Workday and would recommend it to companies for their employees.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to keep up with my PTO balances, my paychecks and paystubs, and any training that is assigned to me. I can also change my insurance, beneficiary information, and tax information easily. It's also a place for my expense reports.

 ### 35. Simplicity and Efficiency for Interview Processes

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nancy m. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I like Workday HCM for its simplicity; it's not that complicated. The platform is direct, which makes it easier to use, and the questions are much easier to understand and handle. I also appreciate how easy it is to upload documents; it takes you directly to your folders so you can select files easily. The interface is really good, making the overall experience easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

I don't think I have anything that I would like to improve about it. However, if they do have an option for maybe different languages, people who do not understand purely English would adjust more to be more linguistic. The initial setup was not so easy and adaptation was quite complicated. Most people have problems with computer-based systems.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM makes interviews easy with its direct platform and questions in English that are simple to understand and handle.

 ### 36. Workday’s Intuitive UI and Fast Performance Make Daily Tasks Easy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ilan T. | Freelance Graphic Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

Workday's UI makes it easy to navigate for basic users. I've always been able to get info quickly and without major hurdles while I navigate the day, espercially in a call center role doing customer service. Performance of the product is quick, there aren't times where it lags, at least not often.

It can interlink with other applications intergrated by the company, although primarily I would use it for lesson learning plans set up by management or inputting hours, confirming benefits. For pricing/ROI I am unfamiliar but various companies use it at large scale so I imagine it to be cost-effective once enough users are planned and integrated.

The system has effective onboarding for new users allowing them to tab through products as needed, immediately finding the information management wants them to so they can continue their day. I did not touch Artifical Intelligence features often but they were not so invasive as to be bothersome so it's a net positive if a user wishes to access them.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

Overall the product is perfectly usable but there could always be improvements to guiding users. I would like if sections were able to be color-coded by default as a setting to further distinguish them, as an example.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The product has saved time for me in checking my payrolls, detemining my hours worked or shifts, and improved my work flow in needing to check regarding payments less. It can also let me schedule time off and benefits in one place which is great compared to various company sites.

 ### 37. Unified, Intuitive HCM with Smooth Performance, Handy AI, and Fantastic Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rajiv Ranjan S. | Senior Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

The most helpful thing about HCM is that it serves as a unified platform for human resource management, attendance tracking, and payroll recording, which makes the overall process much smoother. The user interface is Intuitive and performing actions are smoother with low latency the ability to integrate different components. And the feature of AI Is really handy for performing the employee life cycle I believe Roi on the product is really good. The support team does a fantastic job.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

Overall, the product is really good, with little room for improvement. That said, I would like a configured Workday mobile app so I can perform actions on the go, such as quick approvals, time-off tracking, and viewing payslips.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The most important problems solved by Workday HCM are addressed through its unified platform for payroll, recruiting, and time tracking. It also includes features for managing compliance. Overall, it helps me make faster decisions, implement rules more consistently, and save time and money.

 ### 38. Intuitive HR Management, but Advanced Reporting Takes Extra Learning

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Galateya M. | Administrative Assistant, Computer & Network Security, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

What stands out to me about Workday HCM is how intuitive and efficient it is in managing HR data and processes. The real-time insights and centralized system make day-to-day tasks much easier, and it helps teams stay aligned while supporting smarter, faster decisions.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

What I find challenging about Workday HCM is that some functions can be less intuitive at first and require time to learn. Also, more advanced reporting or customization can sometimes be limited without additional support.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM simplifies access to important HR information by providing everything in one place. It allows me to easily view payslips, explore new position opportunities, and update my personal data, which saves time and makes processes more efficient.

 ### 39. Comprehensive HR Solution with Room for Flexibility Improvement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James D. | Recruiter, Human Resources, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I love having everything in one place with Workday HCM. It saves me time since I don't need to remember more passwords for different systems, allowing me to handle both internal and external tasks in one location. This is valuable time saved, unlike before when we used multiple proprietary systems. Workday HCM covers everything for our employee management as well as our full-cycle recruitment, making it all-encompassing. It integrates well with Microsoft Teams, and I also find the mobile application handy.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

Workday HCM could be improved in terms of reporting flexibility. After using Oracle for years, I find Workday's reporting less thorough and flexible, which means more work massaging the data. Also, it's disappointing that I can't edit multiple evergreen requisitions at once. It seems like an easy task but isn't possible, so I have to update each one individually, which is time-consuming, especially with 300+ requisitions.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM centralizes our HR processes, eliminating the need for multiple systems. It saves us time by streamlining tasks like hiring interpreters and handling internal tasks, which reduces password management and workflow complexity.

 ### 40. Workday HCM Centralizes HR and Boosts Efficiency with Powerful Self-Service

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

Workday HCM has become a central part of how we manage HR tasks, and the biggest value for me is how much it brings everything into one place. I regularly use it for employee records, time off requests, performance reviews, reporting, and organizational visibility, and having all of that connected in one system makes day-to-day HR work much more efficient.

One of the most useful features is the self-service functionality. Employees can update personal information, request time off, view pay details, and access important HR information without needing to contact HR for every small request. This has reduced repetitive administrative work and helped employees get answers faster.

The reporting and analytics tools are also very valuable. Instead of pulling information from multiple spreadsheets or systems, Workday makes it easier to generate reports on headcount, compensation, turnover, performance, and other workforce data. This has improved decision-making because managers and HR teams can work from more accurate, up-to-date information.

I also appreciate the workflow automation. Approvals for job changes, time off, and other HR processes move through the right people automatically, which helps prevent delays and keeps everything documented. An unexpected benefit has been the improved consistency across teams—everyone follows the same processes, and there is better visibility into where requests stand.

Overall, Workday HCM has improved our workflow by reducing manual tracking, making employee data easier to access, and giving managers better tools to support their teams. It can take some time to learn because the system is very comprehensive, but once users become familiar with it, it provides a lot of long-term value.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

One area I dislike about Workday HCM is that it can feel overwhelming at first because there are so many features, menus, and process steps. Simple tasks are not always as intuitive as expected, especially for new users who may not know where to find certain actions or reports.

The reporting functionality is powerful, but building custom reports can be complex and may require additional training or support from someone with more Workday experience. There are also times when workflows involve more clicks or approval steps than expected, which can slow down simple HR tasks.

Another challenge is that the user experience can vary depending on how the system is configured by the organization. When processes are not set up clearly, employees and managers may need extra guidance to complete tasks correctly.

Overall, my main dislike is the learning curve. Workday HCM provides a lot of value once users become familiar with it, but it can take time to navigate confidently and fully understand how to use its more advanced features.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM solves several major HR and workforce management challenges by centralizing employee data, automating workflows, and improving visibility across the organization. Before using it, many HR processes were handled through spreadsheets, emails, or multiple disconnected systems, which made tracking information time-consuming and increased the risk of errors.

One of the biggest benefits has been having a single source of truth for employee information. Instead of searching through different platforms or requesting updates manually, HR teams and managers can quickly access accurate, real-time data for headcount, organizational structure, compensation, performance, and employee changes.

It has also improved efficiency through workflow automation. Processes like onboarding, promotions, leave requests, and approvals move through predefined workflows automatically, reducing manual follow-ups and helping tasks get completed faster. This has saved time for both HR teams and employees.

Another major benefit is reporting and analytics. Workday HCM makes it easier to generate workforce reports and track trends without relying heavily on manual spreadsheets. Having faster access to reliable data supports better planning and decision-making.

From an employee experience perspective, the self-service features reduce dependency on HR for routine updates and requests. Employees can manage personal information, benefits, and time-off requests directly in the system, which improves convenience and response times.

Overall, Workday HCM helps reduce administrative overhead, improves data accuracy, streamlines HR operations, and gives the organization better visibility into workforce information.

 ### 41. Clean, Modern and Strong Integrations in Workday HCM

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anthony S. | Anywhere Expert, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

Workday HCM has a clean, modern UI that becomes intuitive once you learn it, making daily HR tasks easier to navigate. The UX is generally smooth, especially for self-service actions like updating personal info, requesting time off, or accessing documents. Integrations with other enterprise tools are strong, which helps keep data centralized and reduces manual work.

Performance is reliable, with minimal downtime and fast processing for most tasks. The main downside is pricing, which tends to be on the higher end, but the ROI is justified for larger organizations due to automation and efficiency gains. Support and onboarding are solid but can feel slow or complex at the beginning because of the system’s depth.

Workday also continues to improve its AI and intelligence features, especially around reporting, insights, and automation, which helps HR teams make faster, more informed decisions.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

What I dislike about Workday HCM is that it can feel overly complex, especially during onboarding. The system is powerful, but that also means there’s a learning curve and some basic tasks aren’t always as intuitive as they should be at first. Certain workflows require too many clicks or steps compared to simpler HR tools.

Another downside is the cost, which is high for smaller companies and can be hard to justify unless you’re using most of its advanced features. Customization is also somewhat limited unless you have strong internal admin support or consultants, which adds extra effort and expense.

While integrations are generally good, setting them up or troubleshooting issues can be time-consuming. Overall, it’s a very capable system, but it can feel heavy and complex for day-to-day use compared to lighter HR platforms.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We struggled with having HR data spread across multiple tools and a lot of manual work for basic employee requests. Before Workday HCM, simple tasks like updating personal info or pullling reports took longer and required HR involvement.

Now most of that is centralized and self-service, so employees can handle things themselves and HR can focus on higher-value work instead of repetitive admin tasks. Reporting is also much faster and more consistent, which helps with decision-making.

Overall it’s reduced a lot of back-and-forth and probably saves a noticeable amount of time each week, even if it’s hard to measure exactly.

 ### 42. Workday Makes Clocking In, PTO Requests, and Pay Tracking Effortless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul K. | Laboratory Services Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

Workday makes it easy for me to clock in and out of my shifts at work. Additionally, Workday's Time Off portal simplifies PTO requests and makes it easy to track my compensation.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

I feel Workday gets unneccessarily updated even though the original layout was perfectly fine. The frustrating thing with these updates is it changes the name of some of the menu options and puts them in different places. The changes are easy enough to adapt to, but they dont seem needed.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem that workday is solving is how to make tracking attendence and payroll easy. It benefits me primarily by being a seamless application that allows me to complete my tasks quickly.

 ### 43. Streamlined Our HR Workflows Despite Some Navigation Challenges

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Praney M. | Product Design Manager 2, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I liked the centralized visibility across employee workflows and approvals in Workday HCM. It made onboarding, role changes, and day-to-day HR coordination much more structured compared to relying on scattered spreadsheets or disconnected systems. The reporting and workflow automation features were genuinely helpful for keeping managers and operations teams aligned on employee-related processes. I also liked that the platform scales fairly well as teams grow.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

One area that could improve is the overall navigation and user experience, especially for newer users or teams that only interact with the platform occasionally. The system is very comprehensive, but some workflows can feel heavier than necessary when users are trying to complete simpler tasks quickly. Reporting and customization are also powerful, although configuring them exactly the way different teams want can take time. During larger organizational workflows, certain menus and approval paths can feel slightly complex to navigate, so a more streamlined interface and simpler workflow setup options would probably improve adoption across non-technical teams. Newer or occasional users sometimes have to move through multiple sections to complete relatively simple workflows, which can slow adoption initially.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM reduced fragmented HR and onboarding workflows by centralizing processes and improving visibility, cutting down on manual tracking. It's great for managers to access employee information more easily and streamlines complex HR coordination, helping with onboarding, role updates, and approvals.

 ### 44. Affordable All-in-One for Small Businesses

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniella A. | Freshman Mentor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I like the ease of using Workday HCM, and I appreciate that everything is in one place. The talent management tool is also very helpful as it allows us to see the capabilities of talent and how it matches what we need when hiring. I also find working with customer service for HCM enjoyable, as it's much easier to work with, and the functionalities are a lot easier too. My manager found the initial setup super easy, and we had hands-on experience that helped us learn quickly. I definitely recommend it for small businesses or startups because it’s affordable and a great tool to use.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

I think the integrations are pretty limited. It would be nice if Workday HCM could integrate with other tools and software we use.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Workday HCM to process payroll and find contractors. I like that it's all in one platform, making it easier to manage these tasks.

 ### 45. User-Friendly HR Management with Powerful Features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael G. | Senior Content Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I like the user interface of Workday HCM as I could find everything pretty easily, and it's a really powerful tool. It serves as both a powerful data tool and provides a really valuable and easy user experience. It makes my day-to-day human resources work easier with tasks like time coding, putting in PTO time, and checking pay stubs. It's really user-friendly and easy. The search function is easy and powerful, making everything easy to find, which helps me quickly check pay stubs and PTO time. This interface makes what could be a hassle much smoother and is kind of like a last thing on the priority list for the day, but it simplifies it.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

Yeah. I mean, I think, you know, sometimes it takes a second to learn things. I do like the user interface, but sometimes, you know, things are just, like, labeled differently or maybe in a place where you wouldn't expect. So yeah. I mean, I think just maybe some more, like, clear, like, how to's.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM simplifies my HR tasks like time coding, PTO entry, and pay stub checks effortlessly. It's user-friendly and powerful, making those small but often tedious tasks manageable.

 ### 46. Highly Customizable HCM with Robust Employee Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Greta H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I like how we can configure business processes to meet our specific needs. We can add documents to review and sign, and create tasks that are specific to our employee types, like regular, part-time, and student workers. Internal HR teams can review and have tasks if certain criteria are met. I really enjoy setting up notifications as needed and being able to constantly improve the experience for our end users.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

I understand AI is still growing, but Workday seems to have over-promised AI features in the past, leading me to be hesitant that it will improve soon. I would love to see improved AI in Workday Assistant and Payroll processes. The chatbot Workday Assistant is very limited in what information it can provide the employee, often leading to frustration on their part and a need to contact HR anyway. Improved capabilities to answer more detailed questions would be ideal. The ability for AI in Workday to run audit reports on the back end and call out discrepancies, instead of our payroll employees doing this work.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM is our one-stop-shop for organizing employee data like hire dates, contact info, and time off. It provides employees easy access to pay, benefits, and job history.

 ### 47. Nice HRIS System to Use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2017

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

Easy to use, icons are nice and the platform is intuitive. I liked the platform compared to ADP, much more easier to use. They have updated a lot of the interface and the platform is easier to use and make updates. changing information, updating account info etc

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

The platform is intuitive and sometimes you can get lost in the system. You have to click different places to find what you are looking for. For example, looking at benefits and trying to select or un select these options it can be confusing. A lot of updates have improved this and the system is streamlined now. A very robust system that manages to do everything.

**Recommendations to others considering Workday HCM:**

It is a simple and easy to use HRIS system. Train your staff on how to use it, a lot of times not knowing how to do something can adversely affect the product.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It always easy to navigate and helps manage your information pretty easy. Time offs, benefits, pay etc are all easy to see and find. It is very to use and simple. I used this at my previous employer, easy to use for onboarding and compensation info. User friendly and helps you manage payroll and timekeeping and submitting PTO. I can manage everything all in one spot.

 ### 48. Comprehensive HCM with Challenging Setup

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aundi R. | Sr. Workday HCM Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I like the consistent release updates with Workday HCM because there's always something changing, and they're always trying to improve the product that they've already released. It's fun to continuously learn new ways to be efficient in the work that we do and find new ways to connect our data to the decisions we make for our organization. The updates may require some work to maintain and stay up to date, but they're extremely valuable as they improve both the user experience and the administrator experience, allowing us to gain efficiencies across the board.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

I think one thing that everybody tends to complain about is the recruiting. And it's not so much on the recruiter side. While I do think that there are some areas that can improve there. Like internal communications, notes, interview management, and, application management. I think a lot of that is on the applicant side because in order to really gather the data that you need to onboard someone, they have to create a profile. And if they're doing that in multiple organizations, then they're constantly creating new profiles, and having to submit a lot of the same information that would just be on their resume. And while I think a lot of that does come down to the independent configuration within the tenant, it is highly visible, and, I think that's why it gets such a bad reputation. Also, implementation is not easy at all. For my most recent organization, we had a lot of requirements that were not documented internally, and so it required a lot of discovery internally to figure out what our policies actually were, and that is really important to determining the requirements for the build. So I would say that for our group, the implementation was extremely challenging.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM helps us create an environment where employees and managers can handle tasks independently, reducing reliance on HR and IT. It closes gaps that could lead to human error, allows for seamless information flow from recruiting to provisioning, and ensures a fluid workflow.

 ### 49. Feature-Rich and User-Friendly, Despite Initial Learning Curve

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luciana S. | Interpreter, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I like Workday HCM because it's super easy to use and very organized, making everything easier and smooth. I appreciate the amount of features it has, which makes it simply the best platform for everything, allowing you to do pretty much anything you're looking for. It's trustable and really good, which is why a lot of companies use it. I had the best experience using it for a long time, and I'm looking forward to using it again.

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

Well, sometimes it's a little tedious to enter and to find what you're looking for. But once you learn how to use it, you're good to go. And it was hard to learn at the beginning, some of the features, but after we learned them, it was amazing.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workday HCM is super easy to use and organized, making everything easier and smooth. It offers a lot of features and allows you to do whatever you're looking for.

 ### 50. Flexible Configurations, Minor Technical Hurdles

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vatan Y. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Workday HCM?**

I like the flexibility Workday HCM provides in configurations, automation, and integrations, as well as the ways we can expose data. The integrity part is pretty amazing. The data in Workday is very important for other applications, and having options to integrate using EIBs, data loaders, and other methods makes us more productive in using those applications. The flexibility that Workday HCM provides is key for the success of any organization [across all functions like Payroll, Time, HR, Talent]

**What do you dislike about Workday HCM?**

I feel like the transformation in the technical part could be improved. Also, the configurations, email part, and alerting part could be better, especially from an IT maintenance perspective. On the Talent side, having detailed skills or using the job description to be predictive would be cool. The initial setup was moderate to high in complexity because of the functional understanding needed to configure.

**What problems is Workday HCM solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Workday HCM for almost all our day-to-day activities around worker and people management, handling everything from hire to retire, time tracking. payroll purposes.
