"Easy integration of projects through MuleSoft."

What do you like best?

I liked all the Connectors, Scopes, Components, Transformers, Filters, Flow Control, Error Handling used in the AnyPoint Studio. It really helped in the faster development of our project and achieved customer satifaction after the deployment. Also API designer, flow designer, Exchange, API console, mocking service, Access Management, Runtime Manager, API Manager in the AnyPoint studio is quite easy to learn and to work upon. Everything we need in a Java project comes bundled in MuleSoft's Anypoint platform.

What do you dislike?

Nothing to dislike. It meets all the requirements that is needed to be used in a production ready applications. Some times we do come across some bugs while developing the MuleSoft applications, they must be resolved so that we can use that particular component and not write a Java code for it.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Please study MuleSoft and use it your projects. It is quite simple to learn as well as to work on it.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Currently we are converting all the java code written for REST webservices in our project.

Also if there is any element present in the Mule palatte which can be used to replace the current Java code, we are going for MuleSoft.

What iPaaS solution do you use?

Thanks for letting us know!

"Clean and Classic Platform"

What do you like best?

I like the Mulesoft Platform because of its simplicity and its easy to use. It provides complete solution to deploy, manage and monitor an application. I can use Runtime Manager to deploy my application and I can use it to monitor as well by accessing logs and dashboard for resource utilization. I can use Api Manager to easily deploy Apis and then manage it by applying out of box policies like security schemes, Rate Limiting or Throtteling and dont forget the proxy and reverse proxy!. Apart from this I also use Exchange to publish all our applications for business users. Best part is Exchange is so interactive that business users can actually use the Apis and check it themselves to understand what to expect from an interface/Api.

What do you dislike?

I dont like the design centre. Its good for Raml designing but its not that useful for building interfaces. Anypoint Studio is the best for it. Apart from this I want Mulesoft to give us more accessibilty and control over the instances where we are deploying applications. I know aws ECS and EC2 services are being used in the backgroud so its good to provide us this access so we can ssh into instance because we often face issues in runtime manager and we have to raise tickets to Mulesoft to resolve them which we can easily resolve if we get instance access. Lastly I think platform should have feature to forward cloudhub logs to other logging tools like splunk, aws s3,sqs or kinesis for log backup and management.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have made our ecomm brands on Mulesoft. It helped our brands to grow online and users have better and faster experience now. We have also moved our POS services to Mulesoft for better customer management and transactions management

"One of the best Integration Platforms"

What do you like best?

I like out of box connectors which makes integrator's life easy to connect to various systems.Dataweave is one of the excellent features of ESB which provides both graphical as well as programmatic view of data transformation.I also like Watermarking concept of Batch Processing which makes real time data integration easy.

What do you dislike?

As I'm using Batch Processing extensively for many business processes to achieve real time data integration. Many a times,I faced an issue on Batch Processsing got stuck in load phase and there was no timely support from Mule Side.

One more point is, now Mule's latest release 4 changed drastically from Mule 3 so migration process from 3 to 4 is little complex.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I would recommend other companies to consider Mulesoft Anypoint Platform.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I have been using Mulesoft as an Enterprise Application Integration platform to connect to various disparate systems for one of our customers who is the largest US based media and news publication company.

We leveraged Mulesoft's Out of box connectors to exchange information between various systems.I have used CRM online Connector to perform the CRUD operation on different entities like Account, order,Orderline etc.I have also used Workday Connector for HCM functionalities. In order to achieve bulk processing of data with less time,I have implemented Mule's Batch Processing Component.

Earlier I was using Mulesoft Management Console for the monitoring and controlling on-prem ESB workflows but then I moved to Cloud based Anypoint RunTime Manager to monitor and analyze applications running in the cloud or on-premises.

"Manage API's Full Lifecycle without much hassle"

What do you like best?

I loved the way components are available to do configure and reuse it for multiple operation. As well as Anypoint platform which come hold all phase of API lifecycle in a better way. Exchange portal is so much useful and gives more advantages over API's,components, templates. Desgin centre is a such a beautiful tool to design api, component and try -n- use it.

What do you dislike?

Few features are in Enterprise only e.g. security related.

Recommendations to others considering the product

For any digital transformation and rapid development with ease of API management, please use anypoint platform which offers lot of features which will help your organization to do transformation quickly and in a correct direction. Move on to cloud iPASS to easy deployment, stability, availability and other features also available without hassle.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

In a finance sector we are doing digital transformation where old, legacy application will be migrated to API's so that those can access, used flexibly as per market demand

"Nice drag and drop RESTful web services platform with built in API management/security features"

What do you like best?

I like how the web services, RAML, API management, and cloud functionalities are all seamlessly connected. It works together very nicely and doesn't feel disjointed or messy.

What do you dislike?

The learning curve is a bit steep, especially for people new to this type of programming model. Some of the documentation is also outdated or poorly written and not very helpful, especially when comparing v3.9 versus v4.x.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Because Mulesoft is now owned by Salesforce, I would highly suggest that Salesforce customers using a non-Mulesoft ESB switch to it.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I have been building microservices for my customer using Mulesoft. We need to connect several legacy systems to Salesforce and want a scalable ESB for future applications to use as well. We have really liked how easy it is to monitor the performance and problems that arise while our applications are deployed and running.

"This is a software that integrates your business with other applications."

What do you like best?

Mulesoft API Portal has very good integration with development tools. Their customer server has been very good, both from help desk and account team, I really like the philosophy of APIs as an applications network, which mirrors our internal approach to APIs. The ability to react quickly to support customers and the management features of the platform.

What do you dislike?

I wish MuleSoft had a consumption-based billing model Mulesoft should make the interface a little more user friendly, this program needs to facilitate the use of the application, perhaps implementing a brief description of each option, I do not like the networking scalability and resource constraints inherited from the AWS infrastructure.

Mulesoft API Portal is very easy to use for me because I am a professional in this but for beginners it is a little complicated to run this software and it is something I do not want to happen to new workers in my work field.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Overall experience with Mulesoft API Portal has been really good, both product and professional services, so if you want to have an easy handling of APIs, I recommend it.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Mulesoft API Portal has benefited, improved and developed the company in which I work because this software is:

- Very easy handling of the APIs.

- Great compatibility and integration make it a very useful tool.

- The software allows excellent protection of information

- API Portal allows you to work quickly and efficiently

"Good product and company including sales and support teams"

What do you like best?

I would highly recommend the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform to others, as it is very easy for development through its drag and drop interface, and is equipped with the necessary connectors for simple configuration. MuleSoft provides a very user friendly tool which offers an extensive toolkit of connectors that you can certainly integrate with your developer toolkit.

What do you dislike?

The overall performance of the tool can continue to be refined, as it does have room for further growth and optimization. Also, Anypoint Studio has been targeted for the developers/people with development background, which is great for solving medium to high complexity integration problems. It lacks the ease of use required by the citizen integrator for solving simpler problems. Also, I wish MuleSoft had a consumption-based billing model.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Best Product In The Market For API Development. Creation of APIs in MuleSoft was very intuitive. The number of OOB connectors helped accelerate development and provided easy connectivity to our backend systems

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The best part of the platform are the out-of-the-box connectors, exchange platform and templates that help us deliver additional value in our solution. For example, Dataweave is very impactful as integration and data mapping function can often be one of the most time consuming parts of an integration. Dataweave is able to provide the option to achieve and satisfy complex requirements, while provides the options to achieve these requirements easily.

"Thoughts from an old Muleteer"

What do you like best?

I like the idea of a unified platform for API management and API implementation: A Huge toolbox of connectors and an easy way of writing transformations.

For me it's important to choose the right tool for the problem: So quite often it is DataWeave, but I still want an easy "escape route" into Java code in cases where DataWeave is not enough.

I like the integration and adoption of standards: A standard Maven build, so I can smoothly integrate into build pipelines.

I like unit tests, let it be JUnit for Java or MUnit for Mule applications.

What do you dislike?

I dislike the way customers and partners are treated:

* When you open a case, sometimes the solution is: "Put an idea to the portal." (See notes to the portal below.)

* Time between case opening and solution is quite long, often a year, sometimes more And my impression: It's getting worse. It's often frustrating: When you are developing and find a bug, you have no chance the bug is fixed before you release. Typical release times are six weeks to four months, but most of the time you will not get a fix in that time range. And opening a S1 is no option because it's development, where you find it when you do proper testting. Additionally: I often have the feeling not all of our input reaches development. In most cases, we provide a demo app to reproduces the case. So we try to make it as easy as possible for developers at MuleSoft.

* Idea portal: In our view the idea portal is a pure marketing joke. The idea that was downvoted most has been implemented (and after that deleted from the portal). A lot of ideas which would really improve the daily experience for developers and which would be easy to implement are ignored.

* Release notes: The release notes are often late and in most cases incomplete. We had several cases where a good note could have warned/informed us about changes to be made.

An idea for improvement: Why can't you open a channel for big customers and/or customers with long experience or for partners who really know the plattform to your internal product owners and/or engineering? We really *work* with the plattform, we often know the details by debugging into the code. I think we could help. And it would help MuleSoft (and other customers) to make the product better!

Our impession: Development it purely marketing driven. Make it shiny so you can sell it, but don't care about the customers using it. I know these are hard words, but it is the direction I observe and it's the direction one of the biggest customers in Germany observes.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Look into the contract, make sure your cases are fixed in time.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

As a consultant: Just consulting. :-)

But for my customers: Wide range of problems, from simple on premise point to point integration to customers with a well established C4E and hybrid deployement (cloud and on premise).

"Opinion about Mulesoft Anypoint Platform"

What do you like best?

Mulesoft is a tool, which has many features that allow us to develop a better working environment, especially one of its essential characteristics, which helps us to create a system of connections between several systems of our company, having more than 150 options of connectors, in addition to the connectors, which, so to speak, are already built in this system, you have the freedom, to create your own connectors, to develop all kinds of interconnected systems, in the company, so you have greater freedom, at the moment, to carry out different projects, that are kept in mind, to optimize the connection and communication with our company, another feature that I must highlight about this system, is the possibility of implementing different tests of integration and debugging of applications in the system Mule, something that allows us to obtain better results, when developing this type of integrations, in real connections.

What do you dislike?

The structure where this system run must be updated, due to the updates, with which this tool carries out, from time to time, it is not very pleasant to have to do this, every certainty, since they are unforeseen expenses, which are not have in the budget of a company, and are updates that must be made in a few days, so that everything is working optimally, it must be strictly considered, that the application works under the established parameters, having the possibility of suspending or disabling said updates, of the systems that are integrated into Mulesoft.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I recommend immensely to access the virtual courses that the people of Mulesoft do, you can really resolve many doubts about the optimal functioning of this application, and the different characteristics that it has, and probably are not used, due to lack of knowledge.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It is a tool that allows us to have an integration between the different services in our company, with the different applications that we use under the command of Mulesoft, since it is our default gateway, it allows us a physical integration of the monitoring systems that we control, and at the same time have a communication with the services that we have in the cloud, allowing us to have more control over each of these elements, and at the same time raise our levels of security, and data protection.

"MULE ESB usage"

What do you like best?

1) Preview option in Dataweave transformer component is best to me. As I need not run the incomplete application to verify the logic built in Dataweave at the time of development. Just providing the mocked input I can verify the logic in Dataweave.

2) Build and unit test time of the interfaces are reduced by 50% in comparison to my previous too.

What do you dislike?

Handling of various types of exceptions is tedious task. When my interface has various connectors like DB, jms and file connector or so on. I need to handle DB exceptions related to connection issues differently than SQL exception. As there is no where listed the possible exception types thrown by each connector it is difficult to handle the exceptions at the time of development. We have to simulate the exception and make note of exception object and build the logic to handle it.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are using Mule for integration of enterprise applications and exposed few Microservices.

"Anypoint Platform the best for API Lifelycle management"

What do you like best?

This platform is very powerful to execute de Digital Modernization using APIs. Applied to all the lifecycle of a API, very easy to use, very stable, very friendly to developers, API Designers, Administrators, Managers, etc. I had very good results using this platform, and always has new improvements. The training strategy is very good. Visualizer, API Management, API console, exchange, runtime manager, Anypoin MQ, Mule ESB, Datagateway, access management, all these tolls are very useful, very important and we can use some of this tools in muleSoft cloud, in company cloud, or an hybrid, or and also on-premise. Anypoint MQ is a ver powerful platformto ditribute message using queues and exchanges (topics) exactly like AMQP, queue encryptin and more. I like a lot this platform, I am using this in my day by day. Exchange is assets repository, is very easy and friendly, always works well, differente types of assets and custom assets. Design center is very nice to create APIs or integrarions.

What do you dislike?

nothing. MuleSoft team is great, always talking directly with his community and taking the best ideas

"Connect the company with anywhere "

What do you like best?

The Anypoint studio is a fantastic cloud environment to could use anywhere to connect with any service across the Internet.

The possibility to create VPC and private end-points help to maintain the legacy environments of the company running but with a layer of services to expose or consume information.

What do you dislike?

Maybe the price list for the components in special of the sandbox environment. I think that these prices will be cheaper and to avoid the wrong use by the customer, MuleSoft could limit the bandwidth of these environments.

Another alternative could create "packs" with a defined number of vCores for production and sandbox with special prices.

Recommendations to others considering the product

For us, the connection with the internal (not cloud) systems, is been with the VPC setting and has a limited number of these. It difficult the internal network setting and the connection between the service layer, the systems and with our third parties.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are using Anypoint as our API Gateway to connect our cloud services between these and our internal systems. Also, we are using the solution to create a service layer for our legacy systems.

The benefits are simple, unify service layer, more manageable services and more effective to deploy that the bespoke solutions.

"Mulesoft as API Enabler"

What do you like best?

- MuleSoft Anypoint Platform offers an API Designer where developpers can easilly define their RAML schema and provide a mock for consumers in just a click on a button. This facilitate a lot // development on producer and consumer

- Exchange offers lot of connectors, samples and extendable custom policies

- Lot of informations about consumers and API themselves right out of the box in Anypoint Platform

What do you dislike?

- Versioning of API Definition files in API Designer is quite poor, basically there is only a main branche with possibility to create others but as far as know, there is no merge option or possibility to get to an older version

- Domains creation (domains allows you to publish several apis on a same port) cannot be done from Anypoint Platform

- Only Organisation Owner of a master organization can see the applications created by others while in most case, this should be delegated to sub organisation owners

- Role Management is still a bit fuzzy

- No Real detailed documentation in the context of the screens where we are

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

- Centralization of all Reusable APIs

- Set of standard or custom policies (enforcements, security, add/remove attributes to/from header, Request and/or Response loging) . This is quite handly in case we want to expose some legacy APIs or APIs on which we don't have control without individually putting in place some additional applications/lines or code

- Tracking Consumer apps so we can easilly set in place charge back

"Very Intuitive Platform "

What do you like best?

The platform is very easy to get to grips with plenty of free training available for self learning. On top of this the developer forums are available should you need any help. Also the ability to design and implement API Specs right on cloud hub means only one piece of software is needed for the complete life cycle. The graphical interface makes it easy to read the flow of the API even if the API has been developed by another person.

What do you dislike?

The debugging menu is a little cramped, the older version was better as everything had a separate tab to make it easy to find exactly what you were looking for straight away. The new menu took a little long to learn to navigate as all items are listed in the same window which can make it a little slower to find what you are looking for at a glance.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Sign up to the free training or go on an instructor lead course as they are very informative and provide a good base for up skilling. Utilise the forums to get help when struggling with a problem as they are a great learning and troubleshooting resource.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The benefits to using the Mulesoft Platform are that we can save a lot of time not having to redo work to integrate new systems into the same system over and over again. The ease at which it makes developing new API's reduces development time allowing for improved efficiency in business.

"Excellent improvement over the years"

What do you like best?

I have been working for more than 3 years with Mulesoft and has had an outstanding growth and improvement.

Thanks to Anypoint Platform you can manage the implementations, the definition of the APIs and the management of them easily and quickly. Also with Anypoint Exchange you can exchange APIs and projects with the rest of your team wherever you are, being able to import it without problems.

What do you dislike?

The community version is very limited. There are some easy to play bugs and the Anypoint Studio IDE sometimes fails (This may be an Eclipse problem). They could allow Anypoint Platform to be used in the community with limitations. More and more functionalities are paid, Mule 4 is only compatible with the Enterprise version so it can not be developed in the free version.

The Enterprise version that includes Cloud is very expensive. Many customers do not want this product due to the high cost involved and can have free alternatives from large companies.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Improve hybrid connectivity

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Integrating applications that have APIs is very simple, in addition, mapping the origin to the destination with Dataweave allows to have a development in a short time.

In addition, the Anypoint Platform platform allows easy management of deployed integrations and APIs through its GUI.

Integrations with a large volume of data to be processed and with sensitive data. It was very easy for the IT department to discover the operation of the integration deployed by the dashboard in Runtime Manager, which allows obtaining performance information, number of messages per flow, etc.

"Anypoint Studio, Cloud"

What do you like best?

The Anypoint Studio which is more easy going to a developer like me to work more efficiently.

Mulesoft provides lot of connectors and support to out of box.. i.e

Mulesoft provides best cloud solution.

Operation part has made easy.

Mulesoft comes with more connectors and supports out of box.

What do you dislike?

Mulesoft does not provide Oracle AQ connector.

As we already connect with support team, they are not ready to create a solution except java code.

Due to this, Our one of my main client has been rejected mulesoft.

I am looking forward for this solution. If mule is ready to provide a connector for this Oracle AQ, we will be heads up with another milestone by using Mulesoft.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Ease of API-led connectivity made simple.

Maintaining End to End implementation of the product has become more easy.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I have realized the more easy of anypoint platform, where we have done some Poc's to test MSMQ Connectivity. The use of dataweave has made any easy part to developers. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. .. . .. . . . . . . .. . . .. . . . . . .. . . . . . .. . . . . . .. . . .

"Product that is specialized to solve the integration difficulties faced by the digital environment"

What do you like best?

The Feature I like the most with Anypoint platform is the "Runtime Manager". To begin with,

1)Ease of Use:- It is one of the easiest GUI I've worked with which performs complex functionalities of the server i.e deployment, logging, Managing Queues etc

2)Operations:- Anypoint platform has made it quite easy to perform operations like stop, restart the applications that are running in the worker(containers which contain the runtime).

3)Overriding of properties at the runtime:- This is one of the feature that has saved me time, this helps in switching of whole new set of properties for the application without having to touch the code and with just only restart I can altogether use different set of properties(using property files)

4)Managing of persistent Queues: This funtionality is beautifully built as it will automatically detect the persistent queues developed inside the application during deployment and also monitoring the queues realtime with what is happening is another big advantage

5)Logging: Changing the level of logging for each application makes my life much easier while troubleshooting

There are so many other functionalites I like about anypoint platform but the above five are my favourites with the experience I had with Anypoint Platform suite

What do you dislike?

One feature that I find it difficult or would rather say confusing is "Business Groups". This, of course, is based on my experience with the product and others may find it easy as well.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Highly recommended

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

1)Not having a need for physical servers

2)Easier Transaction management

3)Monitoring of persistent queues

4)Publishing of API specifications at a common place for everyone who is authorized to use and improve it

5)Easier access Management

6)Various Out-of-the-box solutions that can be implemented as policies

"The best API platform "

What do you like best?

I like how API management, quickly design, test, and publish APIs. Create self-service portals to make collaboration easy and drive reuse. Manage APIs. that allows developers to connect applications together quickly and easily, enabling them to exchange data. It enables easy integration of existing systems, regardless of the different technologies that the applications use, including JMS, Web Services, JDBC, HTTP, and more. The ESB can be deployed anywhere, can integrate and orchestrate events in real time or in batch, and has universal connectivity.

What do you dislike?

The Enterprise License is very expensive and the Community Edition doesn't have many features.

MEL expression language is tricky. This language is used to learn and the examples of it are hard to find.

here are some cases where the connectors do not work as expected or their functionalities are limited. Like for file connector, we cannot use it to move a file in another directory and then remove it, another problem that I found and that must necessarily save the payload in a variable, otherwise it is lost.

Recommendations to others considering the product

It's so easy to learn Mule. I have integrated solutions using other products, but by far, Mule is the best I have come across with in terms of integrating enterprise systems.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We use Mule soft API to create API for publishing it to the cloudhub easily and to integrate it with sales force, oracle, ftp servers, db servers etc,

Data exchange between customers and changing data sources which come with different data architecture.

Integrating various application using out of box components and transformations.

"Anypoint platform for api led connectivity and hybrid deployment"

What do you like best?

I have been using combination of (Anypoint Platform + API led connectivity ) for serving our customers. I have been using anypoint for policy enforcement and security. This one platform give us everything you need to complete your whole CI/CD journey. This platform has helped me personally to understand how mulesoft can ease your day to day work by simplifying all process.

What do you dislike?

Couple of things I think mulesoft should improve.

1. Should include something related to performance tuning in the anypoint platform.

2. Number of policy should be increased.

3. Implementation of oauth should be simpler.

4. More options should be given for application debugging and troubleshooting.

Recommendations to others considering the product

This is one package who can provide you everything you need in CI/CD. Please use it.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

1. Transforming customer monolithic system into the digital journey.

2. API led connectivity.

3. Implementation of system and process API.

4. Using mulesoft as router for migrating system from one banking system to other.

"sharing my experience in mule"

What do you like best?

It was easy to learn and good to work.Mainly they are providing the cloud hub for deploying our applications. and also provides Development tools that make it easy to design APIs, implement integration flows, and build connectors. A collaboration hub for searching for prebuilt, private and public reusable assets.Runtime platform services that provide enterprise-grade security, reliability, scalability, and high-availability.It Combines real-time application integration and orchestration with robust data integration capabilities.it provides heigh security to the applications.

What do you dislike?

ESBs are mainly used for integration. Mule ESB cant be used in a system which has just 2 application or is using just one protocol.MuleSoft's small community is it's only limitation. However, it's community is increasing now at a fast rate and vendors are opting Mule for their integration solutions.

Recommendations to others considering the product

It is easy to learn and good to work

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

By using Anypoint platform we can access third party apis and it allows us to access their data. Mule is one of the light weight esb, based on Java framework which provides out of box solutions apart from existing component and connectors available.

"Fantastic ESB that simplifies API development"

What do you like best?

Initially I was a bit hesitant as I'm a .NET based developer, so moving to a different platform for API development had me concerned. After completing the free Developer course, I felt a bit more confident, but still was left wanting to see the potential of the platform. With a proof-of-concept application, we were able to transition from design to build to integration in a matter of days, not weeks or even months. It was impeccable, and the flows just; well, they flowed. Everything is straightforward, and there is still so much that I haven't tapped into in regards to its potential.

What do you dislike?

At the moment? Nothing. The training 'could' be improved to include testing, but honestly having a basic understanding of unit testing in any framework is sufficient to generate useful tests (and also, auto-generating tests from flows is fantastic!).

Recommendations to others considering the product

Get onto it. The support team has helped a colleague immensely in getting preparations done, and there is constant work being done to improve the platform (when we started it was 4.1.2, and now it's 4.1.5). There is ample support in forums, MuleSoft provide free courses to get acquainted with the platform, and although it feels like moving to a more graphically-based development environment could be detrimental, it's actually amazing.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are using the Anypoint platform for developing our API infrastructure as part of a digital transformation program, using the pace-layer approach. Having read the Mulesoft whitepaper about different designs, we were able to identify the pace-layer as the most applicable to our scenario. We've been able to design the API in the design centre, publish to exchange with a mock endpoint and have validation occur concurrently as a build process takes place. Once the build has been completed, we've been able to deploy up and have the API called and implemented in end-user applications. Absolutely loving the object stores, flow references (for clear, concise flows), and we are investigating implementing AMQP.

"Large learning curve, backed with tremendous power."

What do you like best?

The ability to quickly turn out challenging solutions without needing to write advanced programs to do translations of data. One of the largest gains we have seen with is the out of the box connectors to major platforms such as Salesforce. Not having to understand Salesforce's APIs and simply being able to plug in a connector to do most of the configuration has allowed us to accomplish tasks in much less time than our prior approaches.

What do you dislike?

The documentation/community available on Runtime 4.0+ could be improved. One of the hardest items to overcome is the community that backs other programming languages (i.e. Stack Overflow). When programming within MuleSoft, there is not much of an active community that can be looked to for answers.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Take the time to set standards and understand the platform prior to beginning development.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

One of the largest problems that MuleSoft has solved for the organization is defining a single platform for all API development. Previously within our organization, developers were able to develop in whatever means they preferred. The adoption of MuleSoft has driven our organization to start setting and enforcing standards.

"Mulesoft has been good in support and defining product roadmap"

What do you like best?

Mulesoft's product and relationship team has been great. They work with their clients closely in defining the product roadmap. They visit their clients frequently to discuss roadmap items, invite to conferences, address issues and concerns. Their online training portal is excellent. Many of our staffs went through the online training to get self sufficient with MuleSoft development, and were able to contribute to the projects.

The installation of the Anypoint exchange software and tools are easy. They are self explanatory , and doesnt need expert knowledge to install and use the product.

What do you dislike?

There is not any that I dislike. However, as an area of improvement, there could be more training arranged for Mule 3 to Mule 4 migration. There could be discount vouchers for Mule certifications.

The other thing is we are expecting for tools for Mule 3 to Mule 4 migration, which is being worked upon by Mulesoft. If there could be a firm timeline on the release of this tool, it will help us to plan the migration.

Recommendations to others considering the product

MuleSoft is a good partner to work with

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are a financial services organization, and have products in Wealth management portfolio. Our strategy is APIfication, and we have a thick pipeline with respect to using Mulesoft services. We are looking at containerization of our services, and we believe MUleSoft will help us to achieve the microservices part of it.

We are also looking forward for API Marketplace.

"Very useful tool"

What do you like best?

It's very easy to understand, so I think the advantage that Mulesoft has is its potential with the integration connectors that can facilitate the development of each process, as well as making it easier for the developer to achieve the objectives

What do you dislike?

Some issues, such as support for Windows Authentication for SQL Server databases, do not yet have it integrated.

Recommendations to others considering the product

My point of view as a programmer, is that it greatly facilitates the construction of processes, since it does not require a lot of coding, it must be investigated in forums and support in case of encountering particular situations, like any tool, it requires improvements, but it is special is a very complete tool.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are currently developing multiple APIs that allow us to orchestrate different business processes, which reduce the response time to our customers, automate processes that were done by human resources and that allow us to focus our efforts on issues that really require it and not do repetitive tasks.

"Intuitive and easy to understand"

What do you like best?

Most of my job goes around Anypoint Runtime Manager -- hence, this I do not have a day not looking into it.

What do you dislike?

There is really nothing to dislike here, but I "do" dislike when something's not working out of nowhere, but that rarely happens.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Involve Consulting service partners into beta channels, and roadmaps to get a more feeling of what works and not.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

"Mulesoft Anypoint Platform is good to me for its GUI/Hybrid feature"

What do you like best?

I like its

GUI Hybrid feature - console view for all application.

Easy access - I can access multiple environment/server in a same place

Hybrid - I can deploy different application in different server in same console.

What do you dislike?

Artifact Backup - manual deployment or sandbox deployment doesn't have any artifact backup option. So for storing the latest artifact again we have to use some third party tool like - jenkins.

"Good Integration Tool, big room for improvement"

What do you like best?

the Design View, the online platform (especially the Runtime Manager with the monitoring tools).

The RAML-based APIkit router proved to be in particular very useful by automatically implement basic url/request validation without additional code.

The DataWeave language is extremely powerful.

What do you dislike?

There doesn't seem to be a clear way to use Splitter Aggregator in an asynchronous way (not at least with version 3.x.x of the platform).

MUnit tests are unreliable and they are not faithful to the actual behaviour of the application (a lot of false positives and negatives): it is more effective to just deploy and run the tests manually most of the time.

RAML language rules are quite confusing and do not have any annotation feature like Swagger.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We need to integrate legacy system into one middleware which has to provide a clear Restful interface to multiple clients (both websites and mobile applications)

"A powerfull integration hub"

What do you like best?

Anypoint platform offers the user a lot of flexibility. Many common applications already have pre-built connectors available which can make life much easier as just a little adaption is needed. If something bespoke is required then this can easily be built and deployed - this requires far less technical expertise than for example writing a microservice.

What do you dislike?

While it is simple and easy to use it takes some of the fun out of the process. Due to the lower level of technical skill required it can sometimes feel like there is no challenge, as a result we generally farm it out to juniors.

"The perfect platform for iPaas"

What do you like best?

This is the place where you can, design, verify, develop, deploy and monitor your APIs as well as application within a scalable infrastructure

What do you dislike?

API Designer is could have been much better by way of some UI designer tool through you could specify the elements you would wish to select on the header front and rest you could create as you wish again via some UI. It does seem a bit difficult to achieve but it could be very helpful for API designers.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I would suggest you to try/switch to Anypoint Platform if you are looking for a complete iPaas solution

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The biggest issue that we normally face is developing a design and prototype it to demo to users and verify if its ok, This is made easier thanks to API Portals. Also scalability is no more a headache because of Cloudhub.

"Ease of development with mule "

What do you like best?

API Led approach is the best part of the mulesoft. Anypoint platforms along with anypoint studio provide the best way to develop an application with simulation in minimum time. so development lifecycle will be very effectively worked. All the mule connectors are also very easy to use and helpful.

What do you dislike?

for connector development in mule 4, there are many issues regarding anypoint studio workspace. as any changes in code may not be reflected back to the application in which we have used that connector for testing by adding maven dependency of it. Sometimes control z is also not working in anypoint studio.

Recommendations to others considering the product

API Manager is also a good feature along with auto-discovery.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Using API led approch development life cycle will be effectively fast compared to a normal approach as the design and development phase both provides simulations.

"Complete solution for API and Integration challenges"

What do you like best?

MuleSoft Anypoint is a very mature and robust product. It's easy to get used to it and the components in flow designer are flexible, reliable, and powerful to build from simple to complex integration scenarios. The API Manager platform requires no effort to configure providing fast ramp up.

What do you dislike?

In my country the taxes are high and the currency exchange rate presents some disadvantage. The entire solution is best suited for large companies, where multiple development teams work making the ROI more visible. The other thing is that in Brazil we don't see advertising and the brand is not well known.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Consider the solution as a complete platform for building APIs and Integration scenarios.

"An End to End API Platform."

What do you like best?

The API market is experiencing an exceptional growth over the last few year with a lot of customers jumping onboard.

When it comes to choosing an API platform, as with an other product, there are lot of options with all major vendors offering something unique. For me the most important feature that distinguishes Anypoint Platform from the crowd is that it covers the full life cycle from the desing to the deployment and ultimately the management of APIs. Rich support for the standards like RAML helps designer start prototyping the APIs without worrying about the implementation. Eclipse based studio is a powerful tool for the developers to write integration flows, the rich library of connectors help them complete the API implementation much faster than a traditional development model. Finally with cloudhub the deployment and management of APIs are simpler and easier than ever.

What do you dislike?

The license is very expensive (for a big organization, it is very recommended to have an Enterprise License), in a data flow, only one object contains all activities data (input/output), sometimes we have to write xml because the graphical designer of flows is not responsive.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Mulesoft Anypoint Platform is well suited if we want to have a complete solution which contains both an ESB and API Management and API led connectivity.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

MuleSoft Anypoint Platform is being used as an ESB (integration bus). It allows us to transport data from one application to other. It also allows us to transform data to canonical format and to perform synchronous and asynchronous data exchanges.

"One of the best API management platform I've ever explored. "

What do you like best?

For me, the most important feature that distinguishes Anypoint Platform from the crowd is that it covers the entire life cycle from design to implementation and, ultimately, API administration. Rich support for standards such as RAML helps the designer begin to prototype APIs without worrying about implementation. The Eclipse-based study is a powerful tool for developers to write integration flows, the rich library of connectors helps them complete the API implementation much faster than a traditional development model. Finally, with cloudhub, the implementation and administration of APIs is simpler and easier than ever.

What do you dislike?

I would have liked mulesoft to introduce more connectors that can integrate with wide variety of AWS services.

AWS service offerings are huge, I am sure we will have more connectors that will help integrating with most AWS services from Mulesoft studio.

Recommendations to others considering the product

With an API-led approach, integrating new modules became easy and less time consuming because of the re-use of existing components.

It also provides many OoTB features like ready-made connectors and Cloud deployment and monitoring, recommended.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

In my case, This is a new technology at the beginning all the process looks little complex but once you try to use the tools and of course do a walk through all the things looks less complicated. This complete tool has a lot of potential and I think that will be establishing a new way to build, share, develop, systems in the whole meaning.

"Best Product In The Market For API Development. "

What do you like best?

Mule is by far the easiest ESB I have been exposed to. I have reviewed several others and all of them are very code oriented requiring a rather steep learning curve just to deploying your first project. With Mule and the drag-n-drop Anypoint Studio deploying your first project is very simple. Performing transformations also is very simply with the DataWeave component. This component is very flexible. Its use can be as simple as dragging one field from the input to the desired location in the output. Or it can be complex allowing you to develop functions to retrieve other data, manipulate the provided data or create new data.

What do you dislike?

designer had some issues with IE, Mozilla. Runtime manager hangs. Reporting of flow analytics should be more in depth. API designer doesn't provide all the features of comparitive tools like swagger. Public portal design should have been more options oriented.

Recommendations to others considering the product

It's a great platform but new so MuleSoft may not fit all of your needs. However, they are rapidly adding new features and open to working with you to make the platform fit your needs so be open to it as a platform since it is constantly changing and improving for the better.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

While the Anypoint Platform is a newcomer to API management tools, it still manages to be feature rich and offers a great deal of resources for both API development and deployment needs. As an ESB, it offers a plethora of connectors for making our various enteprise systems work with each other while exerting minimal effort to do so. The interface is extremely user friendly as both a developer, administrator and consumer of APIs.

"Good tool for Data integration. "

What do you like best?

can be used for multiple purposes like designing and implementing API, developing simple applications, integrating components etc. I and my organization mainly used the tool for designing and implementing of APIs. We also created basic application flow using the tool. The tool has an easy UI for developing applications. With just a drag and drop off icons your flow of the application is ready. The application helps us to understand the flow in an efficient way.

What do you dislike?

In dataweave mapping you have to be sure to map fields inserting right names. There is not provided a control mechanism for verifying it, It is not easy to structure a process hierarchy because you have to develop flows and sub flows in the same xml configuration files, also i would like to interact with Mulesoft support directly from the design environment.

Recommendations to others considering the product

The tool is well suited when a user is trying to develop and implement an API. It has an excellent user interface which makes the user enjoy his work. Also, if the user is developing SaaS based application, this is the best tool to use. This tool is handy when a user needs to design an architecture and see the flow.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I'm using Mulesoft platform as pure ESB and not for back end features and is more flexible than other platforms. It enables the company to develop very complex integration architecture in few months, being able to modify or scale it in few steps, with not-so-expert developers and not-so-detailed technical documentation, which has helped us a lot.

"A true lightweight ESB"

What do you like best?

The best part about mulesoft is that you get productive in very less time. The readily available connectors, the exchange platform, the templates all help you gasp the concept very quickly and then help deliver on the solution part.It provides API management capability and also governance and discoverability.Making it easy for the other developers and projects to identify already implemented service.

It has support for Groovy,Scala,Python,Java and JS this adds to more flexibility when it comes to implement solutions across technologically diverse teams.

What do you dislike?

There are two things which I dislike :

1)When any component or connector is selected its very difficult to identify where it came from, eg is it a transformer or a component, a tool tip would have helped a great deal here/

2)The debug mode should have also allowed to see the inner details of the stage.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Quick , lightweight , easy to develop and manage.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Working for a large bank comes with its set of challenges. We have many legacy applications which have a latent potential to serve other complex applications seamlessly through proper use of APIs and that too without tight coupling.I think mulesoft would definately help here.

"Anypoint Platform - Enables quick B2B integration"

What do you like best?

Along with Mule ESB runtime which has got lot of data transformation capabilities using DataWeave and other transformers and processors available to do all routing, filtering, caching, splitting and aggregation - Anypoint Platform has got the readily available connectors for B2B integrations like AS2 Connector and EDIFACT connector which helps the organisations to implement the integrations in less time. With out these connectors it will take lot of time to do those integrations. In addition to that, they have got excellent support when a license is bought. Excellent transformation capabilities of DataWeave. Scaling to a huge traffic can be done easily by tuning the flow threads.

What do you dislike?

Monitoring applications from Runtime Manager does not contain rich features like we had in Mule Management Console. Monitoring and Analysis of logs in cloudhub is tedious compare to on-prem edition.

Recommendations to others considering the product

What do you like best?

The best part of Mulesoft is building integrations & exposing them as endpoint so for enterprise application integration I can pretty much use those integrations to be called from other business processes which may not live inside Mulesoft.

What do you dislike?

"Right balance of simplicity of developing with immense power"

What do you like best?

I love Dataweave , because I am from B2B Integration background where Mapping plays a major role and a most time consuming part of the integration. Dataweave provides a great power and there are endless option to achieve complex requirement easily as well as quickly comparable to traditional mapping utilities. I believe, due to this it is going to takeover as future B2B/EDI Integration.

What do you dislike?

Anypoint Studio, Though it is more informative,But sometime screen provides so many details which may not need in day to day development. As per my experience 80% of interfaces in an enterprise are simple to Medium complex. If it could have been simplified, then it could have been more better.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Anypoint is concentrating both on traditional integration requirements like Mapping and in the mean time it is also up to date with trending technologies like API and Cloud etc. Hence this is going to be a market Hit.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are trying to see the capability of Mulesoft as an alternate combined single integration platform all type of integration e.g. ESB, ETL, API, EDI etc. Currently enterprises uses separate tools for these from their respective market leaders.

Although the drag and drop interfaces in Anypoint Studio have improved the overall experience, it still has a few issues that causes crashes or unexpected results in the IDE. You to have to reset the perspective or restart Anypoint Studio sometimes.

What do you like best?

Very easy for development because of the drag and drop interface, with many connectors ready to go with simple configuration and settings to get a quick connection to a system and also understand, with a lot of documentation available for the same online.

What do you dislike?

A lot of times the studio just crashes or starts giving random errors, which might be removed by cleaning the project or restarting the studio altogether, but it is quite irritating at times to be stuck with a random issue in the middle of development.

"Great tool for data Integration"

What do you like best?

It supports a wide range of systems for the integrations. Its API implementation capabilities make it stand out in its competitors in market. Cloud deployment and monitoring make it easy to handle post-production. More suitable for complex integration scenarios. Supports Java code too.

What do you dislike?

Development is a little complex in comparison to others in the market. A high learning curve is required for developers. Need to have an experienced Mulesoft developer available with some Java background.

"Anypoint Platform - Developer's tool"

What do you like best?

A well documented and user friendly tool. You have completed control over your API Suite. Starting with development to testing your APIs and monitoring through real time graphical representation.

It gives total control on what type authentications needs to be done and how all can see what information

What do you dislike?

I feel performance of tool could have been better. It behaves weird at times. A full understanding of the tool is not an easy job as you have so many functionalities embedded.

Recommendations to others considering the product

A good tool to learn and complete tool for a developer with total control and no dependency on others

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Application of API led connectivity on B2B messages .working mainly on the REST API creation and unit testing. Making use of Partner Manager Portal and configurations on top of it.

Unit testing and monitoring of all the transactions is pretty easy job.

With Partner manager's different and relevant sections trading partner configurations and managing the transactions and data mapping is really nice
