What do you dislike about Paycom?

System Errors: Users have experienced significant problems with core functions, including incorrect employee setups, malfunctioning paid time off (PTO) accruals, and erroneous tax calculations.

Poor Mobile and Module Functionality: While the main payroll module is often seen as adequate, other modules like the Learning Management System (LMS) and parts of the mobile app interface are described as "clunky" or difficult to navigate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Payroll and Timekeeping with Constantly Improving Features"
What do you like best about Paycom?

Paycom is easy to navigate for Admins and Employees. I love that they are constantly updating the system features and give detailed tutorials. Payroll is easy to run and timekeeping is simple. Employees love that they have access to all of their information and freedom to change without having to fill out a bunch of forms to turn in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paycom?

To be honest there really isn't anything I dislike about Paycom. I would make one slight change with the Push Reporting feature. I wish there was a way to automatically send a link directly to the report and not have to log into the Client Inbox to review it. That's it. What do you like best about Paycom?

Having an assigned Payroll Specialist has been a great benefit. The representative assigned to our company is wonderful. She consistently goes above and beyond whenever we need something. Her customer service excels, and even if she is not available, there is always someone else on her team who is happy to help. The efficiency and level of service are excellent.

In addition, Paycom offers multiple features that make the platform user-friendly and simplify our processes. I use the platform almost every day, and I am very happy with it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paycom?

Probably the reporting options. Don't get me wrong, the reports in Paycom are great, and even if you can’t find one that already meets your needs, the Report Writer is available. However, if you are a new user or you are looking for something outside of your usual reports, it may take some time to find the right setup for the report(s) you need. What do you like best about Paycom?

I appreciate Paycom as an all-in-one platform, which greatly simplifies HR and payroll processes by consolidating multiple functions such as payroll, benefits, time tracking, and performance management in one place. This integration is a significant time saver and boosts efficiency and accuracy, leading to better employee engagement. The employee self-service portal is another feature I value highly, as it empowers staff by allowing them to manage their own information, access pay stubs, and complete onboarding tasks without needing HR staff intervention. What do you like best about Paycom?

Having a dedicated specialist is fantastic for quick customer support. Our CRR is also very wonderful for implementing new products and explaining the process, even when there is pushback. Having employees own their data is a valuable benefit, and having all necessary information consolidated within a single system enhances efficiency. What do you dislike about Paycom?

There are certain features that may appear cluttered or generate notifications that become permanently active if applied to former employees. Once an employee's termination is finalized, it is generally unnecessary to make adjustments. For example, enabling ESS access for terminated employees is not appropriate. "Two years in and It is not perfect"
What do you like best about Paycom?

Paycom does bring value in certain areas. The system makes it relatively simple to pull payroll reports and access data when needed, which allows me to step in and assist our payroll administrator at any time. Reporting capabilities are helpful, even if not perfect, and provide visibility into important payroll statistics. Another major positive has been our current payroll specialist, who is highly responsive and knowledgeable—an important improvement after previously experiencing turnover and unresponsiveness with other specialists. Over time, benefits administration has also stabilized and now runs more smoothly than it did at the beginning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paycom?

Despite its positives, Paycom has several significant limitations. The sales process set unrealistic expectations, promising features that ultimately did not exist. Implementation was rushed, with incomplete or incorrect setup that payroll specialists later had to fix. Reporting, while available, is not as comprehensive as needed. Many reports lack key fields, requiring frequent tweaks from our specialist, and development requests rarely progress.

Functionally, Paycom is not a complete payroll and HR solution. We still rely on our old payroll system for certain functions Paycom cannot handle, which forces us to operate in two systems to ensure documentation and compliance. Several HR-related areas are particularly weak: tracking continuing education is cumbersome, document access control is limited, employee performance evaluations are not well supported, and in-house training and CEU tracking are difficult to manage. Perhaps most concerning, Paycom cannot accommodate workers’ compensation—an essential part of HR—leaving a large gap in capability.

In addition, the system’s design is clunky and unintuitive. Navigation requires moving through multiple areas to find tools, and it is often unclear what impact a selection will have without specialist assistance. While some areas have improved over time, the overall experience has been one of ongoing struggles and workarounds. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

My employees love the platform for its ease of use, and our utilization is near perfect. The automations save my team and my leaders' time, allowing them to focus on the business and not be stuck in the business. Paycom is constantly focused on improving the product and providing additional value for the investment, unlike others who just let their outdated software stagnate. With Paycom, they continuously add new features that easily integrate into our business. We get amazing support. Paycom has made my job easier. The payroll and HR functions are more efficient and streamlined. We were using several platforms to complete open enrollment before Paycom. We can now select benefits in one place, making the process less cumbersome. Customer service is super responsive and always gives me clear, detailed instructions whenever I need help. While Paycom has so many good attributes, some improvements can still be made. They should work on allowing us to remove time-off requests from terminated employees without approving or denying them. They stay in my Notification Center indefinitely. I would also like a better way to review whether a manager has approved timesheets without opening each sheet. I don't like the functionality of the requisitions when creating them, I believe it should be easier. The requisitions are hard to navigate and enter information into.
