Ability to execute native processes. Event based triggering of processes. The Australian based support is excellent. Agents improve reach of the platform. Easy to install on Windows or Linux, highly recommend running on windows which has advantages when connecting to MS databases and shares. Load Balances job execution across nodes. High Availability implementation is simple to implement. Rich set of protocols supported. Email task is one of the easiest I have used to be able to delivery rich well, crafted and professional email payloads. Near seamless external RBAC integration for administration and user/service access through LDAP. **What do you dislike about GoAnywhere MFT?** Inflexible licensing. Market Place is misleading as external suppliers cannot contribute and sell products. Cannot be linked to a PAM for secret management. APIs are limited in functional coverage, appearing to have little thought in their design. Cannot be easily plugged into SCM/CICD platforms. Agents are licensed separately. Cloud Connectors are licensed separately. Anonymous sharing needs to be more secure, e.g. leverage OTP. SLA feature is too limited. Throughput could be better but is still impressive. Lack of OAuth support for Azure Blob Storage. We replaced at least three other older, costly and insecure products with GoAnywhere MFT. It was (and is) extremely simple to setup and the integrate with existing systems. Support, while it can be a bit slow, is spot on with its answers. They stay ahead of the CVE threats and are very quick to fix anything they find or is reported. We dodged several CVE bullets because we chose Fortra GoAnywhere MFT. **What do you dislike about GoAnywhere MFT?** The setup of "Domains" is a little quirky. Read up and ask questions before you just turn it on. There is nothing I really dislike, just small things and enhancements we'd like to see. **What problems is GoAnywhere MFT solving and how is that benefiting you?** Simplified our environment. Saved money by replacing at least three other products. Audit trails, flexibility and ease of use are second to none. We tried several other products. We literally run it many times a day and it’s always been the same. I also like that recurring timed transfers are possible, and that has been helpful to meet tight vendor deadlines. We’ve also integrated it with our accounting tool such that reports are pushed automatically, and everything is kept on track. Now it’s as good of a part of our daily workflow as any we’ve ever had. **What do you dislike about GoAnywhere MFT?** However, one downside is that debugging takes so long when a job fails. The error messages tend to be impercise and it can be like playing a side of guessing as to what, exactly, is the issue. On a number of occasions we’ve had small schedule or config mistakes that have led to delays in a department everywhere. That kind of downtime stacks up fast, especially for processing at the end of the month. A clearer indication on what went wrong when something goes wrong would be a lot more useful. **What problems is GoAnywhere MFT solving and how is that benefiting you?** Prior to GoAnywhere MFT, staff will usually manually send files to partners and vendors. There was plenty of room for human error, missed steps and honestly quite a bit of burnout from all the repetitive work. Now, without someone babysitting that process, those transfers are now possible. This has helped cuts on mistakes, freed up our team from spending brain power on what our software is programmed for. The job logs are very helpful for troubleshooting. The in-built webclient feature really gives a user-friendly web interface for the end users to upload or download the files still maintaining high level of security. The challenges with email attachments are well addressed by the secure email feature. The agent feature is an added advantage for those who do not have the knowledge capability to make use of any communication protocol for uploading the files to the GoAnywhere MFT server. The AD integration, cloud and other Integrations, multifactor authentication are of very much help. Enabling Active-Active clustering on multiple nodes can be easily achieved. Through File Manager feature, the super users not necessarily have to login to the server to explore the filesystem. Secure Forms, if used efficiently can help in creation of our own web interfaces. Overall, I like every feature available in the product. **What do you dislike about GoAnywhere MFT?** Many users prefer to utilize the webclient but as it makes use of https protocols, it has it's own limitations to upload or download files. I have yet to run into something that it can't do. And we've barely the scratched the surface of using it for automation & API integration. We've also been able to have it integrate with our AWS, GCP and SharePoint environments easily. I've had to engage help and support on many instances and they have always provided great assistance in a timely manner. Would recommend GoAnywhere with two thumbs up We use it daily for 100s of a job between various environments. It was easy to transfer old jobs to it and integrate new jobs. The implementation was helped by the support team at Fortra providing expert advice. Overall its a great & versatile tool. Bit of a learning curve (especially if you haven't done any object oriented programming before). But the biggest strength is that it integrates really well with older systems (FTP environments, on-prem servers) and also with newer cloud environments (SharePoint, AWS, GCP) **What do you dislike about GoAnywhere MFT?** Occasionally, some of the more advanced functions within cloud environments are still being developed. So while Fortra is quick to add things in we have had some delays waiting for an exact feature or integration to be improved. **What problems is GoAnywhere MFT solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have to transfer tons of files between different financial institutions and oursleves. GoAnywhere provides the tool necessary to automate these processes securely. Finances reports and contracts going back and forward between clients and our intenal teams, and having log history is a big win. It has put an end to confusion as to whether a file has been delivered or not. Everything will flow naturally with it running alongside our document solution. My biggest confidence when dealing with clients is the clean audit trail. **What do you dislike about GoAnywhere MFT?** The worst part is that error messages do not help in figuring out what went wrong, and they are worded in a most annoying manner. We have had transfer failures that did not easily fix because the alert wasn’t easy to trace back to the problem. Indeed, that delay can really throw off our timelines, especially in some ways in the afternoons when traffic is at its worst. Now due to this, we are forced to put up extra internal tracking just to fix it in a faster way. **What problems is GoAnywhere MFT solving and how is that benefiting you?** With GoAnywhere MFT, it has become crazy to stay on top of file transfers but we can do it with GoAnywhere MFT. Once you have done initial design work of resources, the rest of what you need to do becomes much simpler and adaptable to whatever your needs are for reporting and file transfer needs. Customer support is also extremely good. Ease of use is nice for getting started and producing results early. I frequently use it for developing solutions and have been for 15 years. **What do you dislike about GoAnywhere MFT?** I have no complaints but I would like to see more examples. Combining a very good File transfer server supporting SFTP, FTPS, and HTTPS and adds a very powerful scripting engine. This means we have been able to connect the scripts to read CSV files and write data directly into databases, have also hooked GAMFT to monitor fields in Salesforce and can trigger actions if needed. Our system is very heavily used with in excess of 4000 processes spread accross 150ish customers handleing millions of files movements every month between internal systems. GAMFT can be hooked into many different end points to either extract information or push data to. The product very extended capabilities in configuring templates of workflows which can be easily parametrized and reused to setup many integrations using one re-usable template. **What do you dislike about GoAnywhere MFT?** Deployment in Azure AKS requires some manual steps (DB setup, licensing) which have to be managed manually (during initial setup), the vendor is working on K8S support and helm charts. **What problems is GoAnywhere MFT solving and how is that benefiting you?** We managed to setup self-managed, cloud native MFT solution in Azure Kubernetes (AKS) thanks to the product. NO other MFT vendor offers a Docker image and mostly other products require Windows OS to install a product. We configured about ~100 integrations and another 200 are in a queue, so the target will be to process over a million of files daily. We use sftp (pull, push), Azure Data Lake, Google cloud storage and Sharepoint as sources and targets of our integration. We setup templates of one file: puller, sender and processor templates which are re-used in all integrations. It is used by our team to cut down on manual involvement and move files between departments and external partners. I like its scheduling utility, the ability to schedule transfers before time. This has allowed us to keep consistency in file exchanges, so that we are sending and receiving the file when we need to, without having to intervene. **What do you dislike about GoAnywhere MFT?** The downside of GoAnywhere MFT is that error logs aren’t detailed enough when a transfer fails. If anything does not go as expected, the system gives you very little information of what went wrong. It has resulted in situations where certain file exchanges take longer than they should, and troubleshooting takes longer than it should. Additionally, the time slated for configuring new workflow turns out to require somewhat more manual setup than is suggested by the features available. From integrating third-party API requests to accessing internal databases, the user experience is efficient and effective. We’ve really integrated it with our cloud storage and ERP systems to really optimize our workflow and save a ton of time we used to spend doing manual tasks. **What do you dislike about GoAnywhere MFT?** GoAnywhere MFT has many features, but I don’t like how time consuming it is to set up when you’re integrating with other software systems. It encrypts everything and solves the problem of unsecured file transfers and also provides compliance with mandatory standards. The manual monitoring that used to take place was eliminated by automation, because this has lowered errors. GoAnywhere is a system I "inherited" from one of my co-workers, but it is a product that I truly like, even though I did not test and select it. I like the GUI, it is clean and organized so it is easy to find what you need. I find myself just randomly looking at features to see what else the program can do. Besides, the basic sending and retreiving of files, I have used their "double" scheduling, customized the error logging, write custom job logs to email, use monitors, and trigger files, renamed files, used conditionals, loops, used pgp encryption and decryption, certificate based logins, read/wrote files, and a lot more that I don't recall right now. I've had a lot of requests, some of them odd, some of them stupted be for a few days, but I was always able to figure it out. Bottom line is that GoAnywhere just works, **What do you dislike about GoAnywhere MFT?** Support. Getting information on how to use the product and features is difficult.At one point it looked like they had a nice support forum going, where customers could post questions and support or other customers would answer. That unfortunatley was closed and is in a read only state. There is still a lot of good information there. In addition, working with support is a hassle. Their ticketing system is not integrated with email, so conversations you have with support personnel is not logged in the system unless you cut and paste it in there. Also it feels like anytime you ask support a question about how to use the product or how the product works, they automatically refer you to professional services for a paid engagement. They need to understand the difference between the customer asking them to write a project versus the customer asking for help to be able to write the project. **What problems is GoAnywhere MFT solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are using it to centralize and control repeating files transfer jobs in and out of our organization. Ask oneself, why does it need a prebuilt or take time to build a module script step before you can visualize the folder structure on the connected side, or to quickly make a simple COPY or MOVE, etc.?? 3rd point: I hear at one time there was a feature where multiple tabs can hold its own unique session if user were wanting to say, open one project on one chrome tab, and another project on another chrome tab, and compare script steps or edit/modify by learning to visualize one with another. But some time back, this feature was removed, because if you try to do this, some time passes and the one of the tab will refresh to make it the same as the other, hence only 1 tab, or project is only allowed. Currently, the HELP function enables a dedicated open tab and holds that.
