"Agile excel based tool with very supportive team"
What do you like best about Cube?

Through the use of Cube, we have automated a significant number of manual processes. Data is accumulated, analyzed and reviewed more effectively, which saves the Finance team time and allows the sharing of information to business partners. When we've provided product feedback, the team has been quick to add it to the solution roadmap and address. I appreciate how Cube takes customer feedback and is continuously innovating on their product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cube?

I think the tool could have had a stronger day 1 integration with our accounting ERP. Although the day 1 look and feel left room for improvement, the Cube team addressed concerns and updated the product functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Quick set up and easy to use"
What do you like best about Cube?

Cube is based completely off of the excel platform and it works perfectly. There is a small, and I mean very small, learning curve for pulling data from the cloud into excel, and once that is done, if you can build it in excel it will work with Cube. Their CSM's have all been incredible to work with. Fast and friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cube?

I had two complaints with the Cube software and they recently fixed both of those issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great tool for FP&A"
What do you like best about Cube?

- Cube will facilitate the process of extracting the data on an excel sheet or google sheet with less effort with a particular preference

- It is a good tool to build a financial model for frequent reporting of the financials by only one click

- The customization of the dimensions (Tags) to extract a set of data in a single line Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cube?

- More improvement in the acceleration of extracting the data needs to be consider constantly with a growing volume of data

- More automation tools to be implemented for planning process support

- Enhancing the visualization of the data ( It's already there but needs some improvement in the customization process)

- More effort to be considered in different currencies reporting Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive & Powerful - Helps support a scrappy FP&A team"
What do you like best about Cube?

Lots to choose from but one of the huge draws is that it acts as an extension of programs you're already familiar with, Excel and Sheets. There's no programming language to learn, no complicated portals to work within. If you don't know BI, you don't need to learn it. You can "Cube-ify" your existing spreadsheets, or build from the ground up. The functionality is similar to the way pivot tables work, so it's intuitive to learn and use.

& of course it's powerful. QBO doesn't have a robust or flexible budget capability, and filling that gap is what led me to Cube. I'm able to fully house budget and forecast scenarios, run reports and analytics, all within Cube. It's easy to shift a couple parameters, hit update, and refesh your report in the same place to run different scenarios. I tend to use it more frequently than the accounting software's built in reports, and now I've extended its capabilities beyond just budgets and into revenue and payroll.

Huge shout out to the support team as well. I always have a dedicated rep at hand for help (what's up Riley!); the support articles are genuinely useful, which is refreshing for finance software; & they're always looking for product feedback to help adapt the roadmap to what's actually needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cube?

The only flaw that I find is something they've communicated that they're constantly working to improve, which is speed to load or fetch data. It can be time consuming to update and process a bunch of different reports. However, some important caveats: some of the lag is due to the way our company structure is set up; I have been able to re-design/architect my reports/sheets with speed in mind & to make things more efficient, and that's gone a long way; Cube has already improved the speed of fetching noticeably since I first got setup. I expect it will only continue to improve until it's no longer even noticeable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Financial Reporting Tool for Startups"
What do you like best about Cube?

Cube is quite fast to get up and running and offers a lot of flexibility with aggregating multiple data sources thanks to integrations with Excel and Google Sheets. Allows for easy template creation to streamline routine financial reporting. Customer support is usually quite responsive and helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cube?

We could never get an automatic data connection with NetSuite working, so it is always a manual upload process each month. Missing certain features like a headcount planning module or robust forecasting capabilities in order to be an effective end-to-end FP&A platform for larger companies at scale. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Preston Lam of Cube

Hey Anthony,

We appreciate you taking the time to leave us feedback. Great to hear that you've been up and running. The time savings you are seeing is music to my ears!

I have asked your Customer Success Manager to follow up about the data connection with Netsuite feedback, from our understanding the issue you've described should be resolved.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Preston,

"Great product."
What do you like best about Cube?

It really is a very useful product at it's core. Cube's excel and Netsuite integration makes month-end close reporting soooo much easier and has really helped to streamline a lot of our processes. The software allows you to import/play with different and granular cuts of data very well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cube?

It would be nice to see more Vendor level reporting capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Hello,

We appreciate you leaving feedback for our team. We're glad to hear that you've enjoyed your overall experience with Cube so far and we've been able to help streamline processes to make reporting easier. "Easy to implement, easy to use, great overall tool"
What do you like best about Cube?

Cube is incredibly quick to implement and very easy to get familiar with the system. The biggest selling point was our ability to create custom reports on the fly in seconds. Also, I wanted a software that I could use entirely in excel instead of google sheets or web based. It is seamless to "cubify" your existing models and budgets to upload to Cube. There are continuous product updates that the Cube team rolls out to improve the system. The Cube support team are always quick to respond with any issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cube?

While the biggest upside was having an excel based system, it would be nice if there is a way for non finance users to pull budget to actuals in the cube online dashboard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Cube for the win for FP&A"
What do you like best about Cube?

Cube is overall very easy to use and feels so familiar with Excel as the base. I like the addition of the dashboards and hope to continue to develop that portion of Cube. I like that it is intuitive for the most part. I have also experienced great support from our dedicated account rep, actually, that is probably the #1 thing I like. He is great and always helps us solve any issue quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cube?

Implementation was rough and not as easy as I would have liked, but after that, we are very happy.

Nothing other than having the time to fully utilize it. I hope the next year will provide more time to do so. I do think the continued enhancements are helpful and each one has contained something that we can use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Cube - FP&A system administrator & user review"
What do you like best about Cube?

Lots of great things to share about Cube! Firstly, the implementation support has been excellent - extremely helpful and knowledgeable technical advisors who have had a solution to every complex request we have had. Secondly, the ability to overlay Cube into our existing Excel forecasting models and management reporting has made it exactly the right tool for our business. Finally, the data integration capabilities are powerful and easy to use - it is most robust data integration between an FP&A system and ERP for actuals that I have ever been a part of. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cube?

Currently there is a lack of flexibility in the reporting in Excel. Retrieving data to produce reports is quick & accurate, but takes a lot of formatting to be presentable, especially to users outside of Finance. For example, when retrieve data, it shows all parents and children in the same column rather having the option to present these in a tabular format, unlike an Excel PivotTable. I haven't yet used the dashboard functionality in the Cube web portal which I expect would improve this, but given our wider business is reliant on excel, improvements to the reporting out of the Cube Excel add-on would be helpful.
