I used to do manual journal entries, but in Chargebee I never had to create any manual JEs. The accuracy of revenue recognition and deferred revenue is brilliant. The reports can handle a maximum of 200,000 transactions; if this limit is exceeded, an error message is returned. As a result, we have to extract data from Chargebee RevRec and import it into our data platform. However, this extraction process is challenging because RevRec does not offer an API. Instead, we must schedule daily exports to an AWS S3 bucket, which is then connected to our data platform. Another major limitation of Chargebee RevRec is its restricted ability to update transactions via the data import function. It is not possible to delete transactions through imports or back-end scripts. You should be cautious about what you add to Chargebee, as the only way to remove transactions is manually, one by one, through the user interface. Now we can reply on Chargbee's customer support team and implementation was not difficult. The cost savings by switching to Chargebee over an internal tool we have to maintain was a no-brainer and we use it for all of our invoicing. It saves us a tremendous amount of time compiling invoices. **What do you dislike about Chargebee RevRec?** This may be caused by our unique organizational practices, but once an invoice is made and posted it is difficult to adjust and we end up just making a separate line item for credit rather than fixing the error because it is easier. **What problems is Chargebee RevRec solving and how is that benefiting you?** We can very quickly iterate and develop changes to our billing process without having to go to our internal development team. This has insane benefits as we've changed our pricing model four times in the last year and have had to reconfigure multiple times. Now, the billing team can solely own their software without having to pull development resources away from revenue-generating projects which has not only allowed us to downsize our human resource overhead cost, but meet our other executive goals. It is easy to share access across multiple teams that need billing information, and we're able to link our invoice data to a third-party business intelligence tool like DOMO for the first time. ### 13. The reports are user friendly and provide real-time data on revenue to be recognized. The best part is that report can be extracted to include one-time revenue and subscription income separately. This is quite automated process and minimum effort is needed. **What do you dislike about Chargebee RevRec?** One challenge with Chargebee RevRec is that the setup and customization can be a bit complex, especially for companies with unique revenue models. It can take some time to tailor it to fit your specific needs. Working with a filter and menu overall in Unearned Revenue Rollforward brings me back to the early 2000´s years. Not really modern and user-friendly and I don't have time to learn it ( I am a standard representative of the modern and technology-spoiled generation, despite being a bit older). My feelings are that there are a lot of additional features, that I could use, but just don't have time to figure out how to do it. **What problems is Chargebee RevRec solving and how is that benefiting you?** It provided us with exact calculations of deferred revenue, which was not possible to do manually. To make maximum use of it, we of course need also to learn to not mess up invoicing in Chargebee, which sometimes leads to differences. ### 27. My Quickbook syncs are marked as Other and drilling deep into the "other" is very hard. **What problems is Chargebee RevRec solving and how is that benefiting you?** Consolidating in one place different products and different billing frequencies and its terms. I do like the intuitive layout of the interface,however some functionality is missing depending on how you access certain data (ie differences in Billings vs Bookings when accessed from the invoice module) **What do you dislike about Chargebee RevRec?** The system is somewhat cumbersome & takes a while to update, so even if I am able to resolve issues without RevRec support staff I often have to wait to see if the desired result is achieved **What problems is Chargebee RevRec solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helps with Deferred Revenue calculations an unearned revenue roll-forward calculations for our financial reporting processes. ### 29.
