**What do you like best about Namely?**

I like that Namely's UI is nice to look at. The features allow for basic account management and payroll management. It helps our HR team manage the workforce of our company and ensures everything is recorded properly and everyone gets their pay on time.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

Namely is very basic. It doesn't do a ton of the more advanced capabilities with an HR management tool. And as our company grew, we weren't able to scale, and Namely sort of became a mess.

Namely helps our HR team manage the workforce, ensuring proper recording and that everyone gets paid on time.

**What do you like best about Namely?**

I probably like the easy user interface of Namely, which feels like using social media with all the critical information in the right place. Our team often describes it as a user interface like Facebook, and it's intuitive and easy to understand because many people have used Facebook before. I also find the customer support easy to reach, with many different methods to contact them, which is treasured by us. The initial setup was very easy and fast.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

While it's easy to reach support, the quality has fallen over time. It feels like as time passes, the expertise and knowledge of support and system support has been falling. The system definitely feels like it's not being updated anymore and just maintained.

**What problems is Namely solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Namely provides an official way to track employees and changes, processing payroll and benefits effectively. Its intuitive interface, similar to Facebook, makes it easy to use.

**What do you like best about Namely?**

It has a lot of features and things you can customize. Wide variety of reports to access.
Used to use it often - like several times a week.
Didnt have a chance to integrate it, as it came with our aquisition. Didnt have a need to implement it at that time as it was done for us, but it was difficult to sunset the program.
It was relativly easy to use once you knew how to use it, but I would say it was hard to find some features.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

Not always super user friendly, and glitchy. Have to go to 2 places sometimes to make a setting work.
Had to lean on support a lot to figure out why things were not working properly - didnt set them up properly.
Benefits administration was glitchy, as if we did not renew- it still renewed automatically with all benefits carriers, and this was not clear, and caused us a lot of issues at the time of sunsetting the program.

**What problems is Namely solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Had HRIS and payroll in one. Was able to keep tabs on US employees and pay them through that system.

**What do you like best about Namely?**

Namely has been a helpful HRIS for our growing organization, especially when it comes to centralizing core HR functions like onboarding, payroll, and performance management. The interface is clean and generally intuitive for both employees and admins, which helps reduce confusion and cuts down on HR inquiries. We’ve especially appreciated its employee directory and org chart features, which make navigating the team structure easier.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

Customizing workflows for onboarding, offboarding, or promotions can be limited without involving support, and reporting could be more flexible and insightful out of the box. We'd love more user-friendly dashboards tailored to HRBPs and leadership with real-time data like turnover, DEI metrics, and engagement insights. It would also be great to have more control over document storage. Think tagging, version control, and permissions.

**What problems is Namely solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Namely is helping us stay organized by keeping all of our core HR tasks in one place. It makes it easier to manage onboarding, payroll, time off, and performance reviews without having to jump between multiple systems. I like that employees can update their own info, request time off, and access documents without needing to email HR for everything. It also helps us keep track of important dates and tasks so nothing slips through the cracks. Having everything centralized saves us time and makes the employee experience a lot smoother. We’re able to focus more on building a positive culture instead of chasing down forms or approvals. It’s also been helpful for tracking employee data and pulling quick reports when we need them. Overall, it supports our team by keeping things running more efficiently and giving employees the tools they need to manage their own info.

Namely is our to-go HR platform for all our employees information, attendance tracking, payroll, information dissemination and performance review system. What I like with this platform is that HR system is all-in one and available 24 hours! Whether you need to submit a vacation leave or want to view HR announcement or other employees information, you can access the platform conveniently at your own home or office.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

I think they need to add additional features such as graphics for better app experience. Other app integration would be better.

Namely acts as as our intermediary HR system. It's available 24/7 thus reducing time interfacing with HR management through their self-service system.

**What do you like best about Namely?**

I wanted to love Namely, but unfortunately, it fell short in so many ways. From the beginning, the lack of engagement and implementation issues set us off to a rough start. It was a terrible experience overall, though I have to commend Wendy from the benefits admin backend integration—she was amazing. Nothing against her, and I hope she’s moved on to a company with a better reputation.

That said, I find it hard to believe many of the 3-5 star reviews here. I came from Gusto, excited to embrace a robust HRIS, but that excitement quickly faded. From implementation to customer service, everything was riddled with mishaps—especially with payroll and benefits. My advice? Find something else anything else!!

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

Everything. As I mentioned, I really wanted to love it, but I found nothing about it to be user-friendly. For instance, HRIS and payroll are not integrated—you have to make changes in the HRIS system and then repeat the process in the payroll system. This completely defeats the purpose of investing in software designed to improve efficiency.

Payroll was a nightmare, taking us hours—not because of human error but due to system errors and a complete lack of clarity. When we called for support, we were constantly transferred between teams. Payroll support couldn’t address issues with HRIS time and attendance, and vice versa, which only wasted more time.

The lack of training across the board was alarming. To make matters worse, most of the people I worked with during the initial implementation—who were actually great—were let go after an acquisition. Some of them even reached out afterward to apologize for the terrible experience.

Nothing.

**What do you like best about Namely?**

Namely's HR and payroll system is easy to use and intuitive. Our employees love it! The platform's user-friendly interface makes it easy to navigate requesting time off, using the Performance Management tool, eSignature function, updating personal profile information and enrolling in benefits. Additionally, Namely's reporting capabilities are top notch, enabling custom reporting and real time data. The payroll funtion is efficient and a time saver! Overall, we have been extremely happy with the switch from our previous HR/payroll system to Namely.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

Namely does have some areas for improvement. One of the notable drawbacks for our organization is the rehiring process, which can be time consuming since we have a large number of rehires during our event seasons. While this issue isn't a huge deal, it can still be frustrating when you have to rehire fifty people. They need to setup the onboarding process for rehires similar to how the onboarding process for new hires is. In addition, a feature that would be extremely helpful would be bulk actions for employee updates. However, this may be a non-issue for many organizations if they do not rehire many employees.

**What problems is Namely solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our main issue prior to joining Namely was the payroll process. Namely streamlines the entire payroll process, from inputting hours, easy import of bulk earnings, automatic prorated salary to generating pay cycle reports, reducing the time and effort required for payroll administration. This efficiency has save so much time. What took hours before can be completed in 30-minutes. Another exciting feature is the Compliance feature. It provides up to date data on legal compliance for all states. This is extremely important for our company since we have employees in nearly all states. Overall, Namely has been the solution we've been looking for our HR and payroll needs.

**What do you like best about Namely?**

Ernestine Townes, our Senior Payroll Specialist, has been a God-sent. Her support has been priceless. In the last few months, I have learned so much more about payroll processing and HR in my ten years of experience. In my training with Ernestine, she is very good at informing clients how to avoid costly payroll mistakes. I can ask her questions concerning other areas of the software, and she is always able to point me in the right direction. The rest of the Namely team is highly supportive. I process payroll twice per month for various departments. I feel like I am an expert at processing. The software has multiple feathers, I like how it keeps the organization informed of the anniversaries and birthdates of staff. Training is readily available to make the process seamless running operations.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

Client Space is my least-liked feature. I prefer to speak to a live person. I have experienced delayed response time on a few occasions with the billing department.

Accuracy in processing payroll.

The systems are very easy to use for both administrators and employees.They integrate nicely and our implementation was seamless.  Their customer support team is flexible and in recent years they have added additional features that compliment our needs.

The downside about Namely is once past implementation it can take a day or two to resolve day to day issues.

Namely has been able to solve any of our complex issues with ease. As a manufacturing company we don't always have traditional needs. For example, our employees work various schedules, we have several PTO plans, we do rounding for our employee scheudles, and have levels of paygrades and titles.  No matter what the problem is, Namely has been able to work through the situation with ease.

  ### 15. Namely's Full Suite of Services Couldn't Be Beat!

**What do you like best about Namely?**

After lots of experiences in different HRIS platforms and lots of researching the best option this time around, no other option came close to Namely. I love how holistic the tool is - everything from onboarding to workflows to performance to PTO all in one space. Namely integrates SO EFFORTLESSLY with JazzHR and Adobe Sign for things like recruitment and hiring and eSignature documents. Implementation was so thoughtful - each call was specifically geared towards one aspect of the platform. I loved having a real-life person walking me through the entire process and helping set up our customized platform. Rollout was so easy and our team members use Namely daily already for many of the features, with plans for expanding offerings Namely has throughout this year. Throughout the entire process, the support of the team - specifically, Jenna and Jesse - was incredible. I never felt like I was bothering anyone, had all of my questions answered with plenty of insight and support, and felt like the team actually cared to get to know me and our business needs v just selling the tool and passing us onto the next team.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

One of the features we would love to see offered with Namely is an easy way to build, send, and report on employee surveys. There is a workaround that can be offered within the Performance portion of the tool, but it's not easy or quick to set up and analytics is very limited. That said, Namely was super gracious in taking the time to walk me through that workaround but also offered up a few partners to look into and alternate survey options they saw many other clients utilize.

**What problems is Namely solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Namely solved a lot of problems we had with inefficient processes. The first one the entire team felt was the process for submitting PTO. They loved the easy access to the company holiday schedule, the calendar to see anyone who was out on PTO, the different PTO plans they belonged to with detailed information on each plan, and the ease to see where their request was in terms of being reviewed and approved. Onboarding has been much easier and automated as well since we rolled out Namely. We really love the eSignature integration with Adobe Sign and have found it so helpful to have those documents automatically saved to our employee's profiles.

There is very little to like. I suppose it does run payroll

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

Where to start. The support team is almost useless. You log a ticket and their SLAs look like you might get a resolution in a day or two - that is never the case. I even submitted a ticket that was urgent and didn't hear back from anyone for 48 hours. On top of that, we've had tax tickets outstanding for MONTHS. Completely unacceptable. 
I've been almost impossible to escalate these issues. I went to go message their CEO to tell them about this poor experience - guess what? They don't have one. 
If you are considering this platform, don't. Not only was it shockling expensive, you will not get the value you are looking for from this.
UPDATE: After I logged this ticket someone from customer support reached out to try to make things better. They did not achieve this. I continue to not have clarity on our outstanding tax balances and the organization did nothing for service recovery nor took responsibility for their inability to do the proper calculations and factor in the additional costs of not having the costs submitted. I'm sure glad we paid them to do these calculations and that they we're not done.

We are able to pay our staff, but the tax submissions are not being done correctly.

**What do you like best about Namely?**

I like the option of having an HR Information system verses manual system  where everything is stored and available immediately.  Namely is very user friendly.  The representatives are very helpful and always courteous and professional through Client Space.  I like the fact that when solutions to Client Space inquiries are submitted the response provides step by step directions.  I utilize Namely on a daily basis based on my role as the HR Director.  The implementation phase was easy.  We have been using Namely now for approximately 7 months, therefore some of the features and processes that we thought were right for us, we're not finding that tweaking is necessary.  We are currently in the process of requesting some changes to what were originally integrated.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

Although I like the Client Space feature, often it takes more than 24 hours for a reply which can be frustrating when you're attempting to complete tasks.  This doesn't happen often; however it should happen at all; particularly without some form of update.  I would like to recommend that an option for the client to  rate the order of importance of the inquiry would be helpful.  An inquiry to Namely may not appear urgent, but it may be for the client for internal purposes.

**What do you like best about Namely?**

I have had a great experience with Namely. We were with an EOR and needd to move to direct hiring. I checked with Paylocity, Bamboo HR, and decided with becuase of  their exceptional customer service and ease of us. We had the best implementation team who helped me go live within 10 weeks.  They are super responsive and help you every step of the way.  The system is easily navigatable and our staff had no issues getting use to the new systems.

I would like Namely to offer Comp analysis and benchmarks for us to be able to  able to compare salaries and benefits against industry benchmarks and competitors

**What problems is Namely solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Namely has been super helpful with our payroll needs.  We have managed payroll and we have a dedicated payroll personnel assisting with our payroll needs.  We have  experienced increased accuracy and efficiency in payroll processing since implementing Namely.

The interface is seamless to use and is visually pleasing. As a department of one, the entire implementation team made things a lot easier to digest as it was a huge lift for me to complete in a short amount of time.

There are many features I was excited to utilize that our previous HRIS did not offer. Customer support has been incredibly swift in response/resolution time and I love that you can talk to a real human!

Having time separate from HRIS was a slight learning curve however employees can easily use the system and it provides much more visibility into hour details and reporting so overall, we are happy with this!

With our previous HRIS/payroll provider, we were running into a lot of issues with modifications for performance management and continuous tax and benefit enrollment issues. 

With Namely, we have complete control of all aspects of our information and build out and have a support team who can quickly answer any questions our finance team has. The reporting is also a lot easier to build out!

Plus when they answer they CLOSE the case and usually your question wasn't answered!  It is the worst I have ever seen.

Namely has none of the support you would expect for a mid-sized business. You get a different support person on every single ticket,a nd there is no consistency in response times or quality of response. Their turnover is incredible.

Also, the UI keeps getting worse and worse as they introduce features without configurability. The visual clutter is enormous, and there are several very unintuitive steps to completing elementary tasks.

Their payroll setup is a complete disaster that we are still fixing 18 months later and they are accepting zero responsibility for.

Namely allows us to store core employee info securely and privately. They also have push-button payroll and their payroll specialists are efficient and timely.However, several of the features are half-baked, and there is no effort to improve core things before introducing new features.

It's a simple HRIS, very focused on the US environments, so if yu have a company with different countries, laws and procedures, maybe it won't work. But for a US company, you can have payroll, calendar and documentation.

If you have a global company, with different countries, nationalities, laws, procedures and documentation, maybe it won't work. You can only add one payroll, and sync with one environment. There are some features very simple and other with a lot of clics. It's not very intuitive.

Not too many. The information is not sync with any other tools when the onboarding or the accounting process. You need to clic a lot to update information and there are some features withount improvements.

The thing that really drove me to write a review wasn't the technical issues, but the customer service. No accountability, no follow ups when promised, and rude attitudes when trying to fix issues.

The customer service is pretty good. People are generally within reach when you need them. The only positive aspect of working with Namely over the past year was having good service.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

The technology is dreadful. I don't even know where to start with this. Implementation was an absolute disaster working with what seemed like at least six people. I almost canceled our contract at that point, and in hindsight, I should have. We finally did get on the right track by having one dedicated person to speak with. But once you use it, it doesn't get any better. Reports are hard to generate. Everything is disconnected. It feels like it's six different systems mashed together into one. I should have known this is likely why their service is good; they need more people to compensate for how bad their technology is. Also, to my point of saying they're not small business friendly - keep in mind that they will NOT work with you if you have a reduction in headcount throughout the year. We're in the mortgage business, and it has been a challenging twelve months. I asked for some relief on our monthly bill but was ignored. Oh, and to make it even worse - we just had amendments filed for state taxes on an employee for several quarters, and they're trying to charge us $2,500 for it, despite us paying extra for Managed Payroll! I could probably go on for another couple of paragraphs about my bad experience with Namely, but I will save you all the reading time. Just go with a different provider; we are switching to Rippling, which has been fantastic.

They didn't solve any problems for us other than having better customer service than Gusto (where we came from). They actually made our problems worse and put us in a severe bind in terms of cash flow due to the expensive contract.

Namely is an excellent HRIS platform. We are a technology company and our tech team has had rave reviews about the platform and ease of use. The ease of use from the reporting to the different modules has streamlined our HR services and made it easy to focus on non-administrative functions.

The API feeds have taken months to finalize, leading to delays in processing terminations and new hires with their benefits with our different vendors. Once that is resolved, we'll be streamlined in that aspect as well.

Both employees and administrators will find the interface to be very user-friendly. The benefits wizard is really easy to use. Compensation tracking or updates synchronise effectively with the payroll system to ensure that pay is handled correctly. Customer service is excellent; if we have a problem, it is always resolved quickly. The simplicity of enrolling employees in many states.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

Ability to insert earnings codes rather than needing to do it specifically. Every message must be typed on their platform. I'd rather just pick up the phone and ask a question. It would take less time to remedy the problem. Time TCP, in particular, is a little odd and does not synchronise bi-directionally with the HRIS.

**What problems is Namely solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Namely to manage our company's payroll. We are a semi-monthly corporation that employs both paid and hourly workers. This tool allows us to manage payroll and benefits. It is, in my opinion, the worst at benefits management, especially offboarding. We were also able to use it for performance evaluations.

I like the main HRIS page format and the opportunity for all employees to engage with each other since we have 10 locations.  The main page is also user-friendly for employees and administration to navigate, and many functions are found in several locations.

I would like to see the time and payroll functions integrated more with the HRIS system and more functions available. I have to manually enter mileage for each employee during the payroll weeks through a separate report I have to run. Also, having multiple locations and job codes throughout the company would be nice to have the general ledger more functional to upload to QuickBooks.

Namely is consistently working on ways to upgrade its systems and taking feedback from users to make the platform better. I love having all the information in one place. My favorite feature was that it showed the team's previous positions and promotions and gave you a timeline of the employee in the company. Requesting time off was super easy and the system itself was very user-friendly.

I really enjoy that Namely allows me to do so much in its platform - from performance management, to logging my hours or time off, it's really a one-stop shop for all things I could need related to HR and more.

I haven't had a lot of downsides using Namely. If I had to nit-pick a bit, I'd say the mobile app doesn't feel like it's geared towards all employees, but only those in HR needing to make approvals and such.

**What do you like best about Namely?**

Easy to manage paystub and benefits. Clear dashboard view. Easy to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

It is a good HR tool. I am pretty happy with it.

**What problems is Namely solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides a clear dashboard not only for my own team but also easy to manage part-time employees. Especially the time management, manage timesheet and reports.

Fine at Setting System, but Not Scalable. Poor Search.

**What do you like best about Namely?**

Information all in one place, particularly for US employees, we can have HR, payroll and benefits all under one roof. It doesn't work unfortunately for Canada.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

It lacks flexibility to create our own forms, particularly for performance management. The reporting option is too limited

**What problems is Namely solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They mentioned improving the reporting function, that would be a great benefit. They mentioned initially that they would translate to French, looking forward to that.

**What do you like best about Namely?**

Namely's interface is easy to use, not at all cumbersome, quite intuitive. The HR side of the system is robust yet easy to manage, and employees are able to easily find what they need. The newsfeed makes it easy to push out companywide notifications and invites engagement (which is optional), and the mobile app is handy. I like the company directory, and it's easy to contact coworkers through the app. Payroll processing is really easy with every possible report you might want to validate, proof, and double check each process. Customer service has been responsive, accurate, and even delightful.

**What do you dislike about Namely?**

For our needs, the timekeeping/timesheet module was a bit overkill - had more functionality than we needed. The permissions section is super robust, which is great, but also means you need to be careful to configure it exactly as you want it.

**What problems is Namely solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Namely provides a single resource for all employee data, which enables us to eliminate paper and streamline onboarding. With the ability to grant access to terminated employees, I no longer have to send out pay statements and W2s to our former colleagues - they can pop right in and download them. Namely's payroll module saves me TONS of time compared to our prior solution.
